Selection Wizard problem - element variable returns container

Hello,
I am quite new to Sirius and I am trying to create my representations for an existing ecore model.
I am not sure I completely understood the behavior of the Selection Wizard, and Pane Based Selection Wizard tools. How can I access the elements that have been selected by the user? From my understanding they are in the 'element' variable.
However, in my setup such variable returns the element on which the user ran the tool (the one he clicked on), rather than the selected elements. Is this the intended behavior? If yes, where can I find the list of elements selected by the user?
Thanks,
Leonardo.

If the result of the browse expression of a Change Context is a
collection, it will do nothing and the context will still be the same as
before the operation.
If you use a Selectin/PaneBased selection wizard with multiple=true and
want to place the context on the selection which will be a collection,
you have to use a For operation and use var:element as expression for
example. Then you have to put the Set operation as child of the For element.

  • Problem with variable in the woorkbook selection screen.

    Hi All,
I have Problem with Variable in the selection screen. I have four variable in the report in this sequence
<b>Plant (optional), calendar month (mandatory),  material (optional), Customer (mandatory). </b>
In Development system, I changed the query to fix the problem for a formula. saved and executed the query. In the selection screen appeared four variables and executed. after executing the query and I saved the work book also. I logged out of the Bex Analyzer. In the RSRT I generated the report by clicking the Generated Report push button. and again logged into the Bex analyzer and ran the work book, now in the selection screen, appeared three Variables only, I am missing the variable <b>Customer</b>.
The old report which is already  in the Production system is working fine. What could be the mistake I did in the development system.
It is very urgent, I need to deliver this object as soon as possible.
Can I anybody help on the same.
    Thanks in advance
    Narendra

    Yunus,
I did what you said. I removed the variable from characteristic restrictions, saved the query and executed the query, appeared three variables Plant, Calender month and material. executed and saved the work book. disconeted from Bex analyzer, in RSRT Generated Report and logged into Bex analyzer ran the work book for selection Plant, calender month and material and went into change query definition and added the variable for customer which was removed earlier and and ran the query for selections Plant, Calender monmth, Material and customer. saved the work book. disconnected from Bex analyzer and closed all excel sheets and work books. In RSRT Generated Report and again connected to Bex analyzer and ran the work book, now appeared only three variables again missed variable customer.
Yunus does any missed n the procedure what i did.
It is helped what Chris was answered.
Many Many Thaks for your time and replies.

  • Bpel variables return Http 503 (problem building schema) error

First of all if I have posted this in the wrong forum, I apologise in advance.
I have recently installed the Oracle SOA suite and I have downloaded JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, I am running the (http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/products/bpel/orderbooking.pdf) Oracle® BPEL Process Manager Tutorial and when attempting to create a copy rule I have noticed that some of my variables return the following error:
    Exception - Problem building schema
    expanded error:
Exception: Server returned HTTP response code: 503 for URL: http://MYID.MYDOMAIN.com:80/orabpel/default/CreditRatingService/CreditRatingService?wsdl
I can access the WSDL directly and it is visible in my Bpel console window too, yet JDeveloper seems to be having trouble with it. I have setup an integration server connection to the BPEL server and from there, when I attempt to validate WSDL I don't get any problems.
I was wondering if anyone could help as this has got me stuck and I can't continue any further.

Disable the proxy settings in JDeveloper.

  • Problem with variables in dynamic SQL/PLSQL

Hi, I have a problem I am trying to solve using a very short piece of dynamic SQL/PLSQL but I am having problems getting the variable values out of the dynamic block.
I need to increment a counter which could be any one of 16 counters I am using and I want to avoid using nested IF statements.
The variable to be incremented is made up of the 'scheme', the 'contributory category' and the 'employment category' (although not every combination is valid)
The 'scheme' can be either 'no1', 'no2', 'off', 'cg' or 'amc'
The 'contributory category' can be either 'cont' or 'noncont'
The 'employment category' can be either 'ft' or 'pt'
For example the total variable name could be 'v_cg_noncont_ft_count'
I have created a variable by concatenating the various elements called v_incr_count_name which holds the name of the variable I want to increment.
I am running this within an anonymous PLSQL block so I cannot use global variables meaning that my variables are not visible within a dynamic PLSQL block.
As a result I think I will need to use bind variables with a PLSQL block or a SELECT FROM INTO SQL string
I have tried various solutions including the following PLSQL solution:
    v_incr_count_name := 'v_'||v_scheme||'_'||v_cont_cat||'_'||v_emp_cat||'_count';
    sql_stmt := 'BEGIN :a := :a + 1; END;';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt USING v_incr_count_name;
Unfortunately I am getting the 'IN bind variable bound to an OUT position' error which I suppose makes sense as I am trying to change the value of a variable in the main PLSQL block from within the dynamic block.
Another (SQL) solution I tried was:
    v_incr_count_name := 'v_'||v_scheme||'_'||v_cont_cat||'_'||v_emp_cat||'_count';
    sql_stmt := 'SELECT '||v_incr_count_name||' + 1 FROM DUAL';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt INTO v_return;
While this executes and returns the incremented value into v_return, I am still left unable to copy the returned value into the variable whose name is stored in v_incr_count_name
    Any help appreciated
    Cheers, Dan

  • XML DB: is it possible to get a row for each element in a container element?

I have an XML document containing a container element (collection). If I query, using an XPath expression, the contained elements I get a row for each container element with the contained element concatenated. Is it possible to get a row for each contained element?
    I run this simple query:
    select extract(xmltype('<colors><color>Red</color><color>Green</color></colors>')
    , '/colors/color/text()').getstringval() from dual
    And get this result:
    EXTRACT(XMLTYPE('<COLORS><COLOR>RED</COLOR><COLOR>GREEN</COLOR></COLORS>'),'/COL
    RedGreen
    1 row selected.
What I would like to have is:
    Red
    Green
    2 rows selected.
Wishful thinking or possible? Many thanks!

Sure. This is where our XMLSequence() function comes in. It allows you to treat the top-level nodes in a nodeset as if they were rows in a table when combined with the TABLE() operator. Here's an example.
First, to make the SQL look a little cleaner, I like to define a function like this:
create or replace function testdoc return xmltype as
    begin
      return xmltype('<colors><color>Red</color><color>Green</color></colors>');
    end;.
To break out the nodeset of <color> elements as a table, we use the following query:
    select value(list_of_color_elements).extract('*/text()').getStringVal() as color
    from TABLE( XMLSequence( extract(testdoc(),'/colors/color'))) list_of_color_elements.
Or, using the new-in-9.2 extractValue() operator so we don't have to remember the text() part:
select extractValue( value(list_of_color_elements), '.') as color
from TABLE( XMLSequence( extract( testdoc() ,'/colors/color'))) list_of_color_elements.
Here the TABLE(XMLSequence(...)) combo produces a table of XMLType, with one XMLType object in each row of the table.
In general, if the XMLType instance were coming from an XMLType table xmltab the query would look like this:
select extractValue( value(colors), '.') as color
from xmltab x, /* Important that this table comes earlier in the FROM clause! */
         TABLE( XMLSequence( extract( value(x),'/colors/color'))) colors.
And if the XMLType were instead in a column of XMLType named doc in a table xmltab, then we would have the syntax:
select extractValue( value(colors), '.') as color
from xmltab x, /* Important that this table comes earlier in the FROM clause! */
TABLE( XMLSequence( extract( x.doc ,'/colors/color'))) colorsOnce you get the hang of it, you'll see that the combination of TABLE(XMLSequence()) to "shred" XML nodes into rows, and XMLAgg() to aggregate fragments of XML across multiple rows back into a single document, is quite powerful.

  • Select more value of variable in planning folder

    hi gurus,
    I'm using planning folder.
In planning folder there is a variable that contain many value, for example 0COSTCENTER that contain 10 singles values. (from 1 to 10)
User wants to select some values contained in variable.
For example 2 and 5, even if it is authorized on all the cost center contained in variable.
In this moment it selects one to the time.
how I can make to resolve this problem?
    Thanks
    Davide

    Davide,
sorry to say that, that'z the way BPS works.
it's one of the BPSlimitation & many people are asking for an answer from SAP.
as a workaround, you can do following things.
    1. user can select variable range, for example 2 to 5.
    2. create a variable with properties "user specific values" & fill in required cost centers for each user & don't check the flag "input allowed by user".
in the 2nd option, you can assingn multiple single values to USER1.
if u assign, cost center 2 & 5 to USER1, USER1 gets ability to plan on both 2 & 5 without even selectiing cost centers.
    3. you can even look into authorization variables & user-exit variables if they meet your requirements.
    hope it helps.

  • Problems whith variables

    Hi,
I'm getting an error in a variable while trying to do a join between a numeric field and another variable, which has also a numeric value. You may understand easier taking a look to the sentence of the variable:
    SELECT COUNT(TCODENTE)
    FROM EPBDDES.TSGASASU
    WHERE TNUMASUN='#var1'
var1 is a variable which contains a value of a field which belongs to a table of a different schema; that's why I need to use a variable inside another variable. Does anyone know something about that??
The error seems to be about different type of data, but both TNUMASUN field and var1 are numeric. The error while validating the variable is the following:
    Error while executing query
DB2 SQL error: SQLCODE: -401, SQLSTATE 42818, SQLERRMC: null
    Thanks in advance,
    Hibai.

    Hi Cezar,
It seems to be a problem of comparisons between integer values in DB2. I can't do any cast to integer that solves the problem, but a workmate of mine gave me an alternative solution, doing casts to char type (perhaps you were thinking about that):
    SELECT COUNT(TCODENTE)
    FROM EPBDDES.TSGASASU
    WHERE RTRIM(LTRIM(CHAR(TNUMASUN)))=RTRIM(LTRIM('#var1'))
Both rtrim and ltrim functions are introduced in order to ensure that there are no blanks after the cast operation.
It isn't what I expected, but since it works, I'm going to mark your reply as correct ;).
    Thanks a lot,
    Hibai.

    Hi,
    Call From a Program
From any program in which selection screens are defined, you can call these screens at any
point of the program flow using the following statement:
    CALL SELECTION-SCREEN <numb> [STARTING AT <x1> <y1>]
    [ENDING AT <x2> <y2>].
This statement calls selection screen number <numb>. The selection screen called must be
defined in the calling program either as the standard selection screen (screen number 1000) or
as a user-defined selection screen (any screen number). You must always use CALL
SELECTION-SCREEN to call selection screens, and not CALL SCREEN. If you use CALL
SCREEN, the system will not be able to process the selection screen.
You can display a user-defined selection screen as a modal dialog box using the STARTING AT
and ENDING AT additions. This is possible even if you have not used the AS WINDOW addition
in the definition of the selection screen. However, you are recommended to do so, since
warnings and error messages that occur during selection screen processing will then
also be displayed as modal dialog boxes (see example below).
When it returns from the selection screen to the program, the CALL SELECTION-SCREEN
statement sets the return value SY-SUBRC as follows:
SY-SUBRC = 0 if the user has chosen Execute on the selection screen
SY-SUBRC = 4 if the user has chosen Cancel on the selection screen
Any time a selection screen is processed, the selection screen events are triggered.
System field SY-DYNNR of the associated event blocks contains the number of the selection
    screen that is currently active.
    REPORT SELSCREENDEF.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK SEL1 WITH FRAME TITLE TIT1.
    PARAMETERS: CITYFR LIKE SPFLI-CITYFROM,
    CITYTO LIKE SPFLI-CITYTO.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK SEL1.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 500 AS WINDOW.
    SELECTION-SCREEN INCLUDE BLOCKS SEL1.
    SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK SEL2
    WITH FRAME TITLE TIT2.
    PARAMETERS: AIRPFR LIKE SPFLI-AIRPFROM,
    AIRPTO LIKE SPFLI-AIRPTO.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK SEL2.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF SCREEN 500.
    INITIALIZATION.
    TIT1 = 'Cities'.
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN.
    CASE SY-DYNNR.
    WHEN '0500'.
    MESSAGE W159(AT) WITH 'Screen 500'.
    WHEN '1000'.
    MESSAGE W159(AT) WITH 'Screen 1000'.
    ENDCASE.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
    TIT1 = 'Cities for Airports'.
    TIT2 = 'Airports'.
    CALL SELECTION-SCREEN 500 STARTING AT 10 10.
    TIT1 = 'Cities again'.
    CALL SELECTION-SCREEN 1000 STARTING AT 10 10.
This executable program contains definitions for the standard selection screen and
the user-defined screen number 500. Selection screen 500 is defined to be displayed
as a modal dialog box and contains the SEL1 block of the standard selection screen.
Note the phase in which the titles of the screens are defined. For the purpose of
demonstration, the program calls warning messages with message class AT during
    the AT SELECTION-SCREEN event.
When you start the program, the following sequence of screens is displayed:
    1. The standard selection screen. If the user chooses Execute, the system displays
the warning SCREEN 1000 in the status bar.
    2. Once the user has confirmed the warning by choosing Enter, selection screen 500
is called as a modal dialog box. When the user chooses Execute, the system
displays the warning SCREEN 500, also in a dialog box.
    3. When the user has confirmed this warning, the standard selection screen is called
again, but this time as a modal dialog box. Since you cannot define the standard
selection screen as a modal dialog box, the warning message displayed when the
user chooses Execute appears in the status bar and not as a modal dialog box.
Consequently, you can only exit this selection screen using Cancel, since there is no
Enter function in the dialog box to confirm the warning message.
    Regards,
    Bhaskar

  • Problem with variables in formulas when using CrystalReportViewer

Hi! I have a problem with variables in Crystal Reports formulas, when using CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer class from VS2005-project. I'd really appreciate it... ---Aksu

Has anyone been able to answer this question?
I am having the same problem:
I am designing a report in Crystal Reports XI Developer that contains parameters, which are passed to a stored procedure and are also used within formulas ( in Crystal Syntax ie. {?FORMAT_ID} ) in the report itself.
I can run the report successfully in CRXI Developer.  The formulas use the correct values from the parameters entered during execution and everything looks good.
I then deploy the report to Business Objects Enterprise XI.  I do all of the things necessary to manage the report including setting up the proper database connection information and default parameter values.
When I run the report using the Crystal Report Viewer, I get the following error message:
    Error in File Forecasting.rpt:
    Error in formula <Report Format>.
    'if (not isNull({?FORMAT_ID} ) ) then
This field name is not known.
    Details: errorKind
This happens when I press the "Preview" button in the Manage Object dialog from Crystal or when I run the report using InfoView.
I have changed the formulas and it doesn't seem to matter what the specific content of the formula is; other than the existence of a parameter reference in the formula.  If I comment out the parameter and replace it with a hard-coded value, it gets through the formula fine.
Does Business Objects Enterprise XI support crystal reports with parameter references in the formulas?
    Thanks,
    Tim H.

  • Error when trying to create new element in workflow container

    hi experts,
I hit an error 'cusomer-own workflow are not allowed to be configure" when trying to create a new element in the container.
have anybody come across this problem and how to overcome it
    TQ

Aren't customer task not used anymore?
Or am I mixing things up here.
Well the problem isn't a problem it is SAP standard behaviour you simply can't configure customer tasks (type T in PFTC)
You can only configure Standard Tasks (TS) or workflow templates (WS)
    Kind regards, Rob Dielemans
Edited by: Rob Dielemans on May 29, 2009 12:51 PM
Just had a look at the SAP help and indeed types T aren't allowed anymore SAP gives the solution to copy the customer task, this will automatically change it to a standard task

The course titles are loaded into an array and then into a
combobox. When a course is chosen a second combobox loads the
relevant dates array for that course. When a date is chosen the
time is shown in a dynamic text box.
Problem is - if more than one course is on the same date it
will show the time for the latest course with that date. For
example - course 1 is on 15 sept at time 10:00 to 16:00, course 2
is also on 15 sept at time 11:00 to 16:00. When 15 Sept is chosen
for course one it displays the time for course 2 on this date -
presumably because it comes later in the text file.
I've attached the actionscript for this - Can anyone help me
    sort this out??

    &c2date1=15 September 2006&
    &c2time1=Time: 11:00 to 16:00&
    &c2date2=08 January 2007&
    &c2time2=Time: 9:00 to 16:00 &
    &c2date3=15 February 2007
    &c2time3=Time: 12:00 to 16:00&
The course titles are loaded into an array and then into a

  • Problem with variable offset for 0CALMONTH

    Hello Community,
I have a problem with using variables offset for time characteristic 0CALMONTH
Let's say my current query looks like this:
    ...................01.2006..........02.2006..........03.2006   (0CALMONTH)
    Sales ..............100..................125................200   (Keyfigure)
What I want do now is to add a previous year comparison. So that it should look this way:
    ...................01.2006..........02.2006..........03.2006   (0CALMONTH)
    Sales ..............100..................125................200   (selected months)
    LY_Sales...........50..................100................100   (selected months - 12)
(LY_Sales should show figures of 01.2005, 02.2005 and 03.2006 in this example)
I used new selection for LY_Sales with variable offset for 0CALMONTH -12 but that didn't work. Figures in second line are zero. The desired figures would show up (if I expand the selected time intervall wide enough) in 01.2005, 02.2005 and 03.2005 but that's of course not what I want.
    Please help if you can!
    Regards,
    Ulrich

    Hi,
We can get an an other way by using CELL editor caoncept.
First create teh query like this:
    ...................01.2006..........02.2006........12.2006.....01.2005...02.20005...12.2005  Sales ..............100................125..............200.............50...........100.........100
    Sales ..............100................125..............200.............50...........100.........100
Then hide the 2005 years' kf:
    ...................01.2006..........02.2006........12.2006
      Sales ..............100................125..............200
    Sales ..............100................125..............200
Though the call editor concept overwrite the second rows(selection) content with hidden columns of second row(selection) one by one .i.e first cell of 2nd row will be overwritten by 13 th cell of second column.similarly second cell of 2nd row will be overwritten by 14 th cell of second column........
First row(selection) : Cal year Charactertic with restriction 2006.
second row(selection) : Cal year Charactertic with restriction 2005.

  • Problem with Variable Client Support

    Hello,
I work with Labview 8.5 and Crio 9014.
I have a problem with  Variable Client Support. When I try to compile my project I have the following error:
"The Network Variable Engine and Variable Client Support must be installed on the RT target for this application to function properly..."
I have read that we have to install the Variable Client Support in Measurement and Automation by right-clicking on the software and then choosing add/remove software but I can't install the appropriate shared variable components because I can't see neither Network Variable Engine and Variable Client Support. So what can I do?
    Can somebody help me?
    Thanks

I have exactly the same problem. I wanted go through the "Getting Started with the LabVIEW RT module" and when I use wizard for generating new project I get same notification in my VI...
The Network Variable Engine and Variable Client Support must be installed on the RT target
for this application to function properly. If the Network Variable Engine is not supported on
the target (e.g. FP-2000 with <32MB of RAM), open the project and move the variable library
to My Computer in the project. Doing this will deploy the variables to localhost but
will still require that Variable Client Support be installed on the RT target.
    Could someone help please ?

  • Can I perform a lookup to verify the value of a variable is contained in another list column?

I am working in Sharepoint Designer and am trying to figure out how I can set a condition in an approval workflow to only complete a task if the value of a variable is contained in another list column. So if I had a list called A with column
A1 and I am  working in the approval workflow, I only want the approval to complete if my variable is equal to any value in list A column 1. Otherwise I want to keep the approval task pending. I am very new to sharepoint so any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
You can use the condition "if any value equals value". Please  refer below links for reference.

  • Web service error in response "Element '{ namespace }return' missing"

    Hi all,
I'm quite new to ABAP development on Web services, and I encountered a problem after calling a web service method.
I created a Service Consumer proxy from an external WSDL, then created its port in SOAMANAGER.
Now, when I call one of its methods, an exception occurs. But I was able to debug that there is a response being sent by the web service. However, during the CALL TRANSFORMATION (found in class CL_SXMLP_DATA_ST method IF_SXML_SERIALIZABLE~DESERIALIZE) it raises the error:
    Element '{<namespace>}return' missing
    (I can't show the namespace but it's like "https://xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/xxxxxxxx")
I tried to search the forums about this, but haven't found any yet that could help me. I can't also modify the code since this is already SAP standard.
    Thanks in advance!

    Problem solved..
