Send a Failure Email Notification After Load Plan execution in ODI 11g

Hi Experts,
Greetings!
I am trying to send an email if any of the step fails during Load Plan execution. Irrespective of the failed object, only 1 email should be sent to the Administrator. I unable to do this. Mails are getting sent for the no of times the no of object fails. For eg if 10 out of 100 steps fails, 10 emails are getting sent. I need to send only 1 email.
I am using ODISendMail.
I have tried various combinations however, all in Vain.
For instance:
root step --> Exeception Step (Send Failure Email) and Execption behaviour (Run Exception and Ignore). Using this because, I dont want to stop the load plan on the step failure.
Interface1: Exeception Step (Blank) and Execption behaviour (Run Exception and Ignore).
Interface2: Exeception Step (Blank) and Execption behaviour (Run Exception and Ignore).
Exception not getting executed.
Please help.
Regards,
Andy

Thanks SH.
I tried your suggestion as per below.
1. Created global variable "v_cnt" with default value "0"
2. Created package "pkg_v_cnt" to increment the variable by 1
3. created package "pkg_sendError_Email" to check if v_cnt > 0 then Send Error Email.
For Instance, the loan plan looks like this:
root step --> Exeception Step (pkg_v_cnt) and Execption behaviour (Run Exception and Raise)
Interface1: Exeception Step (pkg_v_cnt) and Execption behaviour (Run Exception and Ignore).
Interface2: Exeception Step (pkg_v_cnt) and Execption behaviour (Run Exception and Ignore).
Send Error Email (pkg_sendError_Email)
The issue here is that, the variables are not getting the incremented value and hence unable to send email . The variable value remains "0" even after execution of the exception steps when both interfaces fails.
Pls help.
Thanks,
Andy

  • Failure Email Notification

    Original post by William Culley

    Hello,
I am trying to setup an email notification when a task that uses an agent fails, but choosing the Failure Email option for the task does not appear to work.  I've tested the email template on other task events like start and it works.  So I know the email template is correct.
I read through the documentation and it states the Failure Email notifies when an external task fails.  Does this mean a task that invokes an agent does not have the option to send a failure notification?
    Thanks,

    Hi Bill,
The email should fire in the even of failure of an outbound message. Is your failure for an outbound or an inbound message?- Ed

    Hey Ed,
I believe we've figured this one out.  We had the failure email being set at the task level and not the agent level.  So the agent failure did not equate to a task failure and we were not receiving the failure email. Thanks for you assistance,Bill

    Hi Bill,
We have a related issue to this which might provide some useful information.  By turning it on at the Agent level, it will also fire when an inbound update fails.  Where you are integrating tickets to external systems, we've found it's possible for updates to be made to an already-closed ticket in the remote system which tries to send an update after the Requisition has already closed. This triggers a failure notification for us, and the 3 failures we experienced were outnumbered by about the 300 false errors we received daily.  We tried configuring it at the task level, but that is not apparently what the function is for and we have an open case for it.Thanks,

  • A workflow is sending the same email notification twice

A workflow is sending the same email notification twice. Not every notification, but this happening only a few times randomly.  The double sent emails are arriving together , have the same date and time.
I've checked the workflow and found that there is no double sending command in the workflow, and the workflow history also shows just 1 run and 1 email sending.
Can somebody help me on this.

    Hi Neel,
For troubleshooting your issue, you can take steps as below:
1.Increasing the UserDefinedWorkflowMaximumComplexity to 30000 setting using Powershell script
    2.IISRESET
    3.Adding <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="51200" executionTimeout="3600" /> in web.config. Yes, that is "3600" unlike "300" suggested. Please note that there are multiple lines in web.config with <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="51200">.
I made this change only in the very first one.
    4.IISRESET
5.Removed everything from C:\Users\<userName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WebsiteCache from my laptop
6.Removed everything from C:\Users\<userName>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache from my laptop
7.Removed everything from C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SharePoint Designer\ProxyAssemblyCache\ from my laptop
    8.IISRESET
    9.Restart SharePoint 2013 Designer

I'm trying to reset my Apple ID password. They said they will send me an email but after months I still did not receive it.

Your password was sent to your emergency email address.  Perhaps you have an email you never use?   I use the free email from my cable TV account as my emergency email.
Your Apple account and cloud account are separate.   You could even have completely different user and password.   Most of us use the same user ID and password, but they are not the same thing, don't mix them up.
If you can't retrieve emergency email, you will have to call apple support.

  • Receive email notifications after contributions?

I was wondering if there's an option to automatically receive email notifications after a contributer has posted comments/reviews. Otherwise I might forget to check or miss comments that were sent by the clients because I didn't know they updated the project. I checked the account settings and all but couldn't find an option for this.
    Thanks in advanced!

You have to upgrade to a paid subscription to get email notifications.

  • OIM11g: Send Email Notification after request is submitted/rejected

    Hi,
For OIM 11g version 11.1.1.3 I've implemented an approval workflow (SelfRegistrationApproval) based on the Oracle OBE guide: "developing_oim_custom_approval_process_for_self_registration" and I've followed this guide to the teeth making no customizations. Right now I'm only able to get an email notification sent out to the requestor once the request has been approved. What I'm having trouble with is getting an email notification sent out when the request has been rejected. Does anyone know how to trigger an email notification to be sent out to the initiator of the request once the reject button is clicked in OIM?
    Thanks.

  • Email Notification after User Self Registers in OIM

    Hello there,
Can you please tell me how can send an email notification to users as soon as they register themselves in OIM using the OOTB OIM Self Registration.
Actually I am generating a unique User ID as a Post Insert in Create User Event Handler. By real question is to actually send this particular generated User ID to the user in an email - how can I do that?
    Thanks.

The exact scenario is an end-user directly self registers himself providing all the necessary values of User ID, First Name, Last Name, Email, Password (mandatory fields). But I want this request to be directly completed/approved. I don't want any kind of administrator intervention in creating these users in OIM such as providing approval details, etc. So I have added the remaining necessary fields on self registration page itself for users to be filled out - Organization Name, User-Type, Employee Role. The user provides all these details on OIM self registration and it directly gets created in OIM.
I have made an email definition of type "provisioning related" and included the necessary UDF's in it. And I have added this email defn to the "Email Notify" task of "Xellerate User" process. I have already checked the "Assignee", "Requester", "User" option box in the "Notification" tab. So now the problem is after user creation - the administrator is receiving an email containing the UDF values but the user is not receiving that. But the user is receiving the "Self Registration" email definition email which I don't want to send.
So really speaking I want to send an email on User creation containing the UDF values - but it is not sending it. I have integrated the "Email Notify" task with "tcCompleteTask" system adapter. Am I missing anything?
Please let me know as this func. needs to be in place asap.
    Thanks.

  • Email Notification after Job run

    Hi everybody,
I want to setup an email notification at the end of a job run.
The job is an update run from our Activate Directory and checks if there are some changes to do.
At the end or after this job I would like to send an email to the admin that the job successfully run and what the job did.
    How could I setup this?
At the moment I tried to use a SQL statement to table MC_LOGS within a script called in the last pass of the job.
But I only get the information what to job do from the last run of the job and not from the current run.
Best regards & a happy new year, Anja

    Hi Anja
Your last pass can only fetch information from the last run and not the current one because the Job is still running and the respective log is not yet written to the table.
But maybe you could use the LogFile created then the Job finishes.
I suppose you use the "LDAP (ADS) - Update All"- Job for LDAP-to-IC updates. This job writes a logfile to %$ddm.ddmpath% which you could send as mail attachment. Use the UpdateJob-"Event scheduling" button to run your SendMail-Job after every UpdateJob-completion.
Another idea would be to use the SQL-View MCMV_JOBLOG which I think is the datasource of IC-JobLog. I suppose column "mcmv_data" stores the details.
    Hope I could help.

  • Reboot or Power Failure - Email Notification

Can OS X Server 10.4 be setup to send me an email when it restarts, reboots, or has any other issues?
Message was edited by: James Rothschild

Yeah, I have a setup that works fairly well.
    It's done using launchd
I have a folder called EmailForPrint (you could call it anything, this notifies me to restart the print service after a restart)
    That folder contains two files:
    StartupParameters.plist and
    EmailForPrint (this is a script)
I then drop that folder in the server's /System/Library/StartupItems/ folder
    This is my StartupParameters.plist file:
    Description = "Sends an Email";
    Provides = ("Sends an Email");
    OrderPreference = "Late";
This is the script that is executed by launchd:
    #!/bin/sh
    . /etc/rc.common
    echo `hostname` rebooted on `date`. | mail -s 'Server Restart Notification' [email protected];
Just set the permissions as the other items in the System/Library/StartupItems folders.

  • Email notifications and load balancing

We are load balancing 2 OMS's. The problem is email notifications have embedded links that have the OMS that sent the notification instead of the virtual hostname set-up for the load balancer. The OMS's have been set-up to use the load balancer per the OEM Advanced Configuration and from an agent/Web console perspective, everything is working fine and using the load balanced hostname. Does anyone know where to modify the email notifications so the links point to the load balanced URL rather then the individual OMS host that sent the notification?

Thanks, but I was actually asking about the links that OEM has in the email content sent out as part of a notification. (So you can click the link in the notification and it takes you to the appropriate spot in the Grid console). I've since heard from Oracle support that modifying these embedded links to use the load balanced hostname (rather than the individual OMS hostname) is not possible and is something they say they're working on for 11g.
