Send encrypted attribute to Scripted Gateway Resource

Hi,
How can i send an encrypted attribute to a resource? i added a mapping to the resource schema with type encrypted and it is not send.
when i map password as string to the resource it works and the password is sent to the resource.

OK so here's the scoop. Rather than upgrading the IDM to OW 8.1.1 (which will happen eventually, just not fast enough), I downgraded the Gateway server to Windows Server 2003 (x86). It all works. The answer that it required OW 8.1.1 for Server 2008 R2 was indirectly spot on.
Marking this as answered.
Thanks.

  • Scripted Gateway Resource Adapter - Help requested

    Hello all,
    Sun IDM 8.1.0.9 running on JBOSS 4.2 running on Redhat 5.0
    Gateway server is Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64)
    I'm trying to use the Scripted Gateway Resource Adapter. I can get it to execute Windows CMD files just fine but as soon as I ask the cmd file to run either powershell or even vbscript, it craps out. Return code is -65536 and Error text is just the letter 'W'.
    Enter: reply
    Enter: sendBuffer
    Sending buffer:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-16'?>
    <Response>
    <Result status='ok'>
    <ResultItem type='ACTION_RC'>
    <object class='String'>-65536</object>
    </ResultItem>
    <ResultItem type='ACTION_STDOUT'>
    <object class='String'></object>
    </ResultItem>
    <ResultItem type='ACTION_STDERR'>
    <object class='String'>W</object>
    </ResultItem>
    </Result>
    </Response>
    I know the Gateway.exe program is a 32-bit program and is quite particular about that and I have tried to take that into account when calling PoSH or VBScript.
    If anyone has had any experience with this adapter, any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Tim.

  • Scripted Gateway

    I am in the process of implementing a Scripted Gateway resource which will provision accounts to a 3rd party app. The 3rd party app provides a COM API. I have written wrapper around the API and have successfully added accounts to and deleted accounts from the 3rd party app via IDM, the gateway and the wrapper. This works if I have the GetUser action return nothing. I cannot, however, seem to get the GetUser action and attrparse working.
    In order to take the wrapper out of the mix I am attempting to simply echo the %WSOBJ_ID% variable for testing. I have added accountId as a resource attribute and have the following GetUser action:
    <Waveset>
    <ResourceAction name='TestGetUserAction'>
    <ResTypeAction restype='ScriptedGateway' actionType='WindowsBatch'>
    <act>
    echo %WSOBJ_ID%
    exit
    </act>
    </ResTypeAction>
    <MemberObjectGroups>
    <ObjectRef type='ObjectGroup' id='#ID#Top' name='Top'/>
    </MemberObjectGroups>
    </ResourceAction>
    </Waveset>
    and attrparse:
    <Waveset>
    <AttrParse name='TestAttrParse' >
         <str name='accountId' trim='true' len='8'/>
    </AttrParse>
    </Waveset>
    when I add a user I get the error: java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.String, and if I attempt to edit the user I get :
    Unable to contact resource'Scripted Gateway Test'. Any changes made may not be applied to this resource. Please contact your administrator to correct this problem. Syslog ID = SV-0124-153534.
    I have tried other attrparse methods and output formats, to simulate what I see in the BlackBerry sample , all with no luck.
    through testing I see that the GetUser action is being called, and the environment variable WSOBJ_ID contains what I'm looking for....but the attrparse seems not to like the output of the GetUser action.
    Can anyone see what I may be missing?
    Thanks for any help

  • Scripted Gateway Password - Update Needed

    Hello,
    I am implementing a Scripted Gateway RA. Everything works fine, however when I add password to the resource attributes the account shows as 'Update Needed' after being created. The account is created fine, can be updated and deleted no problem. Remove the password attribute, or use a custom password field and there is no 'Update Needed' warning. Has anyone seen this before, know what I may be missing or know of a possible work around?
    Thanks in advance for any info.

    Try change your user profile pic to a default one and restart, the name should be back to normal.
    For the loading bar, Apple said it is normal because the spinning gear was replaced by this.

  • Send encrypted data from oracle 11g to Ms SQL Server 12

    Hi every body,
    we want to send encrypted data from oracle 11g to Ms SQL Server 12:
    - data are encrypted to oracle
    - data should be sent encrypted to Ms SQL server
    - data will be decrypted in Ms SQL server by sensitive users.
    How can we do this senario, any one has contact simlare senario?
    can we use asymetric encription to do this senario?
    Please Help!!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
      What you want to do about copying data from Oracle to SQL*Server using insert will work with the 12c gateway.  There was a problem trying to do this using the 11.2 gateway but it should be fixed with the 12c gateway.
    If 'insert' doesn't work then you can use the SQLPLUS 'copy' command, for example -
    SQL> COPY FROM SCOTT/TIGER@ORACLEDB -
    INSERT SCOTT.EMP@MSQL -
    USING SELECT * FROM EMP
    There is further information in this note available on My Oracle Support -
    Copying Data Between an Oracle Database and Non-Oracle Foreign Data Stores or Databases Using Gateways (Doc ID 171790.1)
    However, if the data is encrypted already in the Oracle database then it will be sent in the encrypted format. The gateway cannot decrypt the data before it is sent to SQL*Server.
    There is no specific documentation about the gateways and TDE.  TDE encrypts the data as it is in the Oracle database but I doubt that SQL*Server will be able to de-encrypt the Oracle data if it is passed in encrypted format and as far as I know it is not designed to be used for non-Oracle databases.
    The Gateway encrypts data as it is sent across the network for security but doesn't encrypt the data at source in the same way as TDE does.

  • Sending encrypted emails from the iPad is not working

    I can't get sending encrypted emails working on my iPad3 running iOS 8.0.2
    Let me explain what I did:
    1. I created S/MIME certificates for 2 email addresses on my iMac in Keychain Access. One email address exists only on the iMac the other only on the iPad.
    2. I set "When using this certificate" to "Always Trust" in both certificates.
    3. I exported 1 S/MIME certificate (p12) and installed it on the iPad. Then I deleted this certificate and its private&public keys in iMac Keychain Access
    4. I exchanged public certificates between the 2 devices. I installed one certificate in iMac Keychain Access and the other in iPad/Settings/General/Profiles.
    5. On the iMac in the iPad certificate I set "When using this certificate" to "Always Trust"
    6. I tested whether I can send and receive signed and/or encrypted emails
    Results:
    1. From the iMac I can send signed and/or encrypted emails to the iPad.
        On the iPad I can read the encrypted emails. The signature is not trusted
    2. On the iPad I can send signed messages to the iMac. On the iMac the signature is trusted.
        I cannot send encrypted emails from the iPad to the iMac. The iPad doesn't know about the public certificate in iPad/Settings/General/Profiles
    So much for the straight forward part. Now it gets a bit more complicated and confusing.
    1. I deleted the iMac certificate in the iPad/Settings/General/Profiles. Then in iPad Mail I opened the signed mail coming from the iMac.
        I viewed the untrusted certificate in Mail and installed it. From this point on all signed emails from the iMac are trusted.
        Strangely the by this method installed certificate doesn't appear in iPad/Settings/General/Profiles.
        Furthermore I still cannot send encrypted messages to the iMac. This certificate installation seems to be used only to check trust worthiness of the signature.
        Installing on top the iMac public certificate in iPad/Settings/General/Profiles doesn't enable to send encrypted messages from the iPad either.
    To be sure that this problem relates to the iPad certificate management and is not related to an error by me I did the following:
    1. I transferred a p12 file for a certificate that I created in my iMac to a PC running Windows7.
    2. I transferred a p12 file plus its public key (.pem) that I created in my iMac to another iMac into Keychain Access. (I have not tested if the pem is needed).
    3. On the other iMac and the PC I made sure that the certificates are trusted.
        On the PC that means in the Certificate Manager the p12 needs to be in the "Personal" folder and in the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" folder.
        The public keys need to be in the "Trusted People" folder and the "Other People" folder. One can just copy/paste the certificates.
    4. In both cases I deleted the certificate and public/private keys on my iMac.
    5. I exchanged public certificates between the devices.
    6. I tested exchanging signed and/or encrypted emails between my iMac and the PC and my iMac and the other iMac.
    Result:
    1. I can send signed and/or encrypted emails to the other iMac and the PC
    2. The PC and the other iMac trust the signature from my iMac and can read the encrypted emails
    3. My iMac can read encrypted emails from the PC and the other iMac
    4. My iMac trusts emails with signatures from the PC and the other iMac.
    Everything is working as it should.
    After the above test I wanted to see whether I can set up encrypted email exchange between the iPad and the PC. Strangely iPad Mail recognized the public certificate from the PC installed in iPad/Settings/General/Profiles and allowed me to send an encrypted email to the PC. However, on the PC I was unable to read the encrypted email. And the other way around, encrypted emails send from the PC to the iPad cannot be read on the iPad.
    My conclusion from all this testing is that iPad mail encryption is still "under construction".

    I was able to resolve the above described problem to some degree. Setting up sending and receiving encrypted emails between iOS and OSX I have working.
    What is still not working is reading encrypted emails on the iPad/iOS8 received from Windows 7 PC. And sending encrypted emails to Windows 7 PC.
    The details about how I solved part of the problem are described here.

  • Sending email using bash script

    Hello:
    I am working on writing a bash script to notify one or more users by email of certain events. Run from the Terminal command line, and having the script "echo" text of (what would be) a form letter with in-line variable expansion (i.e., ${VARIABLE}), all seems to work as anticipated. Eventually, I want cron to launch this shell script, and send an email to an "on-subnet" user (I have postfix enabled on my Mac, and there are multiple local user accounts).
    I found some stuff on the web about sending mail from bash scripts, and so I made a small little test script, that reads like this:
    #!/bin/bash
    VARIABLE[1]="The 12,345 quick brown foxes "
    VARIABLE[2]="jumped over the 67,890 lazy dogs."
    mail -s "a test email" jv << EOF
    This is a test:
    ${VARIABLE[1]}
    ${VARIABLE[2]}
    This is the last line of the test message.
    EOF
    echo "script completed"
    It worked... almost... It sent a local email to my postfix mail account that read like this:
    This is a test:
    The 12,345 quick brown foxes
    jumped over the 67,890 lazy dogs.
    This is the last line of the test message.
    EOF
    echo "script completed"
    So, I have two questions. First, the easy one (I hope):
    How do I delimit the end of the text, that I want to be the message body of the email, from portions of the script that follow said email text?
    Next question is a little more involved. You know how, in Mail.app, if you go to Mail Preferences>Accounts>Account Information, you can put multiple email addresses, comma-delimited, in the "Email Address" field? So, if a person entered "[email protected], [email protected], [email protected]" in this field, then, even though (s)he may be at home, and using their home ISP's mail server, (s)he could send an email apparently from either their home, work, or school email address. Of course, the mail headers clearly would show it came from and through their home machine and home ISP, but it would be displayed in the recipient's Mail client viewer as having come from one of [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected].
    I'd like to do something similar here, whereby the email (that is being sent to one or more local users' postfix account on my computer) would apparently be sent from "watchdog@localhost" rather than from "jv@localhost" like it seems to do by default. Whatever account the script is run from (or presumbably, whose cron tab is launching the script) is what the "From" address is set to.
    I'd rather not create an additional mail account, because I am using Mac OS X built-in accounts for the postfix mailboxes (I don't want to have to maintain a plaintext username:password file in postfix, and I don't want to create an additional user account on the computer).
    So, is there a way to specify an alternate "From" username when invoking the mail -s ${SUBJECT} ${RECIPIENT} command in a bash script? Or is there a different, alternate mail command that will let me do so? (please include a description of syntax and how I'd package the above message text for the alternate method).
    Thanks in advance, all!

    Hi j.v.,
    The > after EOF is just a typo (or may be added by the Discussion ?) and you must delete it; other > are prompts from the interactive shell. Andy's post shows an interactive use of shell, not a shell script (note the shell prompt % in front of the commands). A typical use of here document may look like
    command <<ENDOFDATA
    ENDOFDATA
    There must be no spaces before and after ENDOFDATA. The word ENDOFDATA can be EOF or any other string which is guaranteed not to appear in the text (the .... in the example above).
    You can modify the From: header by using sendmail command (postfix has it as a compatibility interface):
    /usr/sbin/sendmail -t <<EndOfMessage
    Subject: test mail
    To: jv
    From: watchdog
    This is a test:
    ${VARIABLE[1]}
    ${VARIABLE[2]}
    This is the last line of the test message.
    EndOfMessage
    There must be a blank line between the headers and the mail body.
    I assume that you send these mails only to users on your local Mac. Please do not send mails to remote users by using the sendmail command unless you know what you are doing completely.

  • 0x803d0013 Error occured sending encryption status (A fault was received from the remote endpoint)

    Alright, I am stumped. I have looked at nearly every article on this error here at Technet and other sites:
    An error occurred while sending encryption status data.
    Error code:
    0x803d0013
    Details:
    A message containing a fault was received from the remote endpoint.
    First, I am testing this. I have copied the MDOP ADMX/ADML files directly to the client I am testing this on, and I am applying the policy via the Group Policy Management on the local machine. I am not deploying this via the domain. I wouldn't think that
    would make a difference, but please let me know if I am wrong.
    I have performed the following:
    1. (DisableMachineVerification)
    in MBAM registry as
    is in this article  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2612822
    2.  On the MDOP group policy I have enabled:
          I. Client Management
              A. Configure MBAM Services
              B. Configure user exemption policy
         II. Fixed Drive
              A. Fixed data drive encryption settings
              B. Choose how BitLocker-protected fixed drives can be recovered
         III. Operating System Drive
              A. Operating system drive encryption settings
              B. Choose how BitLocker-protected operating system drives can be recovered
         IV. Removable Drive
              A. Control use of BitLocker on removable drives
    3.
    On the MBAM Administration Server AD object, enable the “Trust for delegation for any service (Kerberos Only) option”, under the Delegation tab. Also,
    the user has been granted delegation privileges for all of the services on the server.
    4. SPN Records have been created for the server
    5. HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\FVE\MDOPBitLockerManagement
    Change the ClientWakeUpFrequency = 1 and StatusReportingFrequency=1
    Create a dword value “NoStartupDelay” under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MBAM and set its value to 1.
    Also, I did not encrypt my drive with MBAM. It was encrypted before hand. Is there anything I can check or do? The event logs on the MBAM server under MBAM-Web don't show anything under Admin or Operational.
    I think my KeyRecoveryServiceEndPoint and StatusReportingServiceEndpoint URLs are correct:
    https://mbam01.domainname.com:443/MBAMRecoveryAndHardwareService/CoreService.svc
    https://mbam01.domainname.com:443/MBAMComplianceStatusService/StatusReportingService.svc
    I even think there was a registry key to make the hardware compatible, but I don't remember which key it was, as I uninstalled and reinstalled, and don't remember where I found that on the forums.
    Any suggestions?

    If you have made changes to the web.config files to accommodate the SSL settings, you will not be able to browse the URLs with the http protocols. The URLs will then only work with the https protocols.
    Could you please confirm the login created for the particular local groups with the following permission:-
    For MBAM Compliance Auditing DB Access:-
    User Mapping – MBAM Compliance Status
    DB Role Membership – ComplianceWriteRole
    Server Roles – Public
    For MBAM
    Recovery and Hardware DB access:-
    User Mapping – MBAM Recovery and Hardware
    DB Role Membership – RecoveryandHardwareReadRole, RecoveryandHardwareWriteRole
    Server Roles – Public
    Make sure the MBAM Computer account (MBAM Web Server) is a member of these two groups.

  • How to send ENCRYPTED email from 10v2

    Helllo,
    How to send ENCRYPTED email from 10v2 to end users who will receive their emails from Microsoft Outlook?
    I created a stored procedure to change user passwords. I need to email the users their passwords but the email message has to be encrypted since it contains user passwords. How do I use util_mail to send encrypted messages? The users will pick up their passwords through Microsoft Outlook. Thank you in advance.

    not sure what is the mechanics of decrypting (PGP maybe?)
    I have few tips ...
    1. look at DBMS_CRYPTO package
    2. create JAVA stored procedure (I'm sure there are some good samples to use java for encryption) to encrypt the body (this can be executed from pl/sql)
    3. save the body as a file on unix and encrypt it with unix command (this can be executed from PL/SQL utilizing UTL_FILE and JAVA stored procedure)
    4. forget sending the password in email and save the password on Oracle Apex site and configure access using single sign-on with transparent windows authentication

  • How to send Encrypted message using public key in Business Service

    Hi,
    I have one public key (abc.cer) which is given by provider. I have to send encrypted message to Provider using public key. How to achieve it in OSB??
    Thanx
    Edited by: Vinit Ahuja on Jun 16, 2011 3:17 AM

    These are the steps needed to accomplish this:
    1. Import the public certificate in the TrustStore of the OSB Weblogic Server.
    2. Export the public certificate in PEM format. (This will be needed to embed in the custom ws policy)
    3. Create a custom WS policy, with the necessary encryption configuration information. I have placed a sample WS - Policy that I have used @ http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19901533/Sample_Custom_WSPolicy_Encryption.doc for your reference.
    Use a unique value for the wsu:Id in the policy.
    4. Apply this custom policy on the business service in the Request section (assuming you only need to encrypt the request fields)
    5. Activate the changes and then test the business service. You can enable tracing on the BS to validate the encrypted content in the logs.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

  • Send parameter from one script logic to another. SAP BPC 7.5 NW.

    Hello!
    Before i start, want to apologize for my English.
    We work on SAP BPC 7.5 for NetWeaver.
    In general,  we want to send parameter from one Script logic file to another script logic file.
    I will explain why :
    1. We have parametr like %C_CATEGORY_SET% (and another four parameter, like groups, currency and etc.) that work on one script(next, i will named it A_Script).
           We will send this parametr from BPC EXCEL (we will create button, then use command MNU_eData_SelectPackage(we also set parameters) and run package that we need, also before we set script for this package by the SAP Guide. We send some data, and this A_Script work good. Everything that we want from this script work correctly. )
    2. Next we create another script(B_Script) , and we want use %C_CATEGORY_SET%, but we don't know how use this parametr, if we will just write this parametr on Script Logic,  apears error ("C_CATEGORYDATAVALUE" is not assigned to the Data Administrator). We try to solve this problem by using System_Constants.lgf, but we get error.
    Code:
    *DIM C_CATEGORY          WHAT=%C_CATEGORY_SET%;             WHERE=<<<;                   USING=<<<;    TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM C_ENTITY                 WHAT=%ENTITYSET%;                         WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;      TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM GROUPS                   WHAT=%GROUPS_SET%;                    WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;     TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM RPTCURRENCY         WHAT=%RPTCURRENCY_SET%;         WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;      TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM TIME                          WHAT=%TIME_SET%;                          WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;     TOTAL=<<<
    If we will change %C_CATEGORY_SET% for  ACTUAL, and also change another parameters, script will work, package will run correctly. But we need using parameters, because we didn't exactly what will choose our client.
    Our question have BPC Script Logic some kind of Globar Parameter(Variable), that we will set in A_Script, and then use them on B_Script?
    How can we define parameter from another script logic, maybe we should send it?
    Should we use System_Constants for solving this problem, if yes, how?
    Any help will be appreciated

    Hi Ethan Jewett
    1. About %ENTITYSET% it is normal. Before this line  i write :
    *SELECT(%ENTITYSET%, "ENTITY", GROUPS, "[ID]=%GROUPS_SET%")
    So it is not this problem. %ENTITYSET% just parameter, that i used.
    2. Are you running the scripts using the same data manager package? I am running two different package for 2 different Script.
    For example aPackage for aScript, and bPackage for bScript.
    My questions was how can i send parametr from one script to another, for example i can run another script by using BADi command Runlogic, but how can send parameter that i need to used on another script. I have for example parameter %GROUPS_SET% (CG001) on aScript, but i can't get this parameter on another script, if i write %GROUPS_SET% i will get error  ("GROUPSDATAVALUE" is not assigned to the Data Administrator)
    OR
    Maybe if you will answer for next question, i will be able solve problem , How can i send parameter CG001 (this is %GROUPS_SET%, for example it stay in EXCEL in cell A5) from excel to script logic by running package. Maybe i can get cell value on Dynamic Script Data Management?
    My Dynamic Script on bPackage

  • Solaris sends SIGKILL to bash script?

    I have this bash script that just loops forever (until stopped), it outputs data to files and runs various other commands to display information on the terminal. The problem I'm having is that solaris seems to send SIGKILL to this script after it's been running for a period of time. Typically a few hours. As far as I can tell there's doesn't appear to be anything obviously wrong with the script. Why would solaris send a SIGKILL?? I know it's a sigkill from the exit code 137.
    Anyone have any suggestions?? I'm running Solaris 8.
    Thanks

    No idea, it doesn't really make sense.
    You could check if there is anything in crontab or similar which kills processes of idle users, but thats a bit of a long-shoot.
    Make your script log to a file frequently, so you can figure out when to determine if its always around the same time, and in which part of the script.
    If Solaris would send it a kill signal it wouldn't be SIGKILL.

  • How to "see" encrypted attribute values (for verification)

    Hi,
    I have enabled attribute encryption following:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-0995/6n3cq3aqc?a=view
    I configured an attribute named "xx-attribute1" to be encrypted:
    C:\SunDS\ds6\bin>dsconf create-encrypted-attr verbose -h foo.whatever.com secure-port 636 dc=orwhatever,dc=com axx-attribute1 des3
    Certificate "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" presented by the server is not trusted.
    Type "Y" to accept, "y" to accept just once, "n" to refuse, "d" for more details
    : Y
    Enter "cn=Directory Manager" password:
    Creating the encrypted attribute "dc=orwhatever,dc=com" for "xx-attribute1"...
    Data have to be imported to have attribute encrypted on "dc=orwhatever,dc=com".
    The "create-encrypted-attr" operation succeeded on "foo.whatever.com:636".
    and then I used dsconf to check that the change "took":
    C:\SunDS\ds6\bin>dsconf list-encrypted-attrs -h foo.whatever.com --secure-port 636 dc=orwhatever,dc=com
    Enter "cn=Directory Manager" password:
    xx-attribute1
    So, that part looks ok.
    I then used dscc to add an "xx-attribute1" to one of my users.
    I would like to actually "see" the encrypted attribute somewhere, just to verify that the value that I entered using dscc was, in fact, encrypted, i.e., something like:
    {des3}xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    I've looked through the files in the "data" directory for this suffix, but I can't find anything that looks like that.
    Is there any way to "see" that?
    To be clear, I know that I won't be able to decrypt the encrypted value. I just want to verify, somehow, that SunDS is encrypting data that I'm entering.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi,
    I think I was able to find the encrypted attribute in xxx_id2entry.db3:
    xx-attribute1: {ckm_des3_cbc}wsRrq1ygL8cnQOXSuu2dAz+1w==
    so, it looks like the encryption is working :).
