SEND_ERROR in the SMARTFORM function module

Hi All,
I want to send the PO via e-mai as attached PDF file. It is working fine in DEV. But in PRD i am getting SEND_ERROR in the SMARTFORM function module.
can any one hep me to fix this????

Hi,
Go to se37,enter ur generated function module name .
Put a brkpoint at first executable statement of that FM.
If u run ur program,then it will stop.
Then put brk point on SSRFT_READ_ERROR(From menu).
after press f8,u will know what is the reason of ur error.

Regarding Smartform Function module

Hi,
When i am executing the smartform function module via print program, Smart form output is displaying properly but it is not showing any OTF data in the importing parameter JOB_OUTPUT_INFO . (JOB_OUTPUT_INFO-OTFDATA). Why it is happening? Could you please help me in this regard?

To get the OTF data you need to set the GETOTF parameter in the Control Parameters of the Smartforms.

I guess, when we set the GETOTF flag, it will not generate the output and only puts the data JOB_OUTPUT_INFO-OTFDATA.

We have two function modules in smartforms,
One is when we activate the smartform it iwll give at runtime which will encapsulate all the attributes of that particular smartform we cant run the smartform in different client if we use that function module.
Second One is We have one more function module is there which is main SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME
output of this function module is another function module. we can run the program in any client if we use this function module

How to copy the standarad function module

      i wants to copy the standard function module which are not rfc enabled. for that one i copied standard one and modified the attributes to rfc enabled. but it was giving the errors "You can only use LIKE and TYPE to specify types in RFC",
how can i solve my problem. pls help me.

1. In that FM, while after copying to Z,
2. there is a second parameter in IMPORT
WITH_TEXT
3. in the column of Associated type,
    it will be blank.
give some data element like CHAR30
   and also give type
4. Then it will not give the error.

Can any Suggest me How to proceed to Create an INBOUND Function Module for Processing the INBOUND IDOCS
which are recieved from XI Server ?
I am working in SAP-ISU
Here i will recieve the INBOUND IDOCs for the Meter Reading Orders.
We have a Standard INBOUND FUNCTION MODULE
IDOC_INPUT_ISU_MR_UPLOAD
which Uploads the Meter Reading Results.
I copied the Same function Module into ZIDOC_INPUT_
and working on it.
Can any one suggest me, whether i am going in correct way or not.
In IDOC_INPUT_ISU_MR_UPLOAD Inbound fun module,
BAPI_MTRREADDOC_UPLOAD is used to Update or Insert the Meter Reading Results,
My requirment is to Insert and Update the Meter Reading Orders which are Inbounded from XI.

I think you are going completely astray with you z-function module for IDoc processing.
If you look at TABLES parameter METERREADINGRESULTS (type BAPIEABLU ) of BAPI_MTRREADDOC_UPLOAD you will find many of the requested fields already:

EABLG-ABLESGR
EABL-V_ZWSTAND
EABL-N_ZWSTAND
EABL-ABLHINW
EABL-ZSKIPC

EABL-ADATTATS => ACTUALMRDATE
EABL-ATIM
EABL-ZMESSAGE
EABL-ABLESER(Meter reader number)
Field EABL-ZMESSAGE appears to be custom field (at least I cannot find it on ECC 6.0). If this field was added using include CI_EABL then you probably can get these values into the BAPI using the EXTENSIONIN parameter.
Check routine CHECK_UPLOADRECORDS in the BAPI which allows two extension structures:
- BAPI_TE_EABL
- BAPI_TE_EOSB
Not surprisingly BAPI_TE_EABL contains the include CI_EABL.

How to find the existing function module is used in another function module

Hi all,
I created a function module and the same one is called from another function module.
When I tried to find where the first function module is used using Where-used List , I am getting the message "function module not found in selected areas" .
Please guide me what is other method to find whether the function module is used in another one.

Go to UTILITIES-> Update Navigation index.
or go to fucntion group and Generate the Funtion group once.
it will detect all fucntion modules under that function group.

Hi Gouri,
If you are looking at determining whether a single FM is obsolete or not is by this method:
Go to FM in SE37 -> Goto Attributes Tab -> General Data section -> look above the Edit Lock field ... where SAP places the release status and date of the FM, if the FM is obsolete, the text Function Obsolete appears
This is one way of finding out one FM @ a time
However if you want to check on a mass scale, I dont have a SAP system here hence cant confirm, however, all FMs are stored in TFDIR database table. Please scroll through the fields of the DB table to check whether any field relates to release status or the like. If it does, then from SE16, you can put the value corresponding to "Obsolete" in the field and run to check all FMs.

How to bring the custom function module in WE42?

I have created a custom function module to post a custom idoc.
Process code has been created thro WE42 and WE57 is done.
Still I am not able to see the custom function module in the list (WE42) in order to assign it to process code.
May i know the reason for this?

What makes you think that it should be visible in WE42? There is no F4-value help for this and you haven't added it manually yet, right.
In WE42 you can manually add entries, so that's what I would do.

Error while determining the form function module

Hi everyone,
We are experiencing problems while displaying one adobe form in ESS. Its the Travel Expense form (PTRV_EXPENSE_FORM). When pressing the button to Display/Print the form we get an error message: "Error while determining the form function module", and no form I shown. The ADS server is configured correctly and there are other forms that are actually working, for example the Travel Request form. We are running WAS 7.0 with SP12.
Anyone has an idea what can cause the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Error while Testing the Inbound Function Module

Hi,
I have created a Z Function Module (Posting Program) for Testing the EDI Shipment Tender Status. When I try to process the IDoc with the Transaction WE19 and when I enter the name of the Z function Module , it gives me an error saying that "Interface for Function Zxxxx is incorrect". Can somebody give me a solution for this? Answer would attract reward points.

You need to register this Function Module against Message Type.

where should i call the rfc function module?
for the synch scenario: file < -- > xi <---> rfc
i know the type of rfc is tcp/ip; but i'm not sure with the followings,
and with some trials i can not even see any message via rwb even all the setting
can be activated without errors.
where should i create the rfc destination? in r/3 or xi
where should i call the rfc via abap program? in r/3 or xi
i guess the calling program should belong to the different server with the rfc itself....
so confused....

The call doesnt use the destination in R3. XI has the RFC destination which is just used to connect to the R3 system

what is the difference between the normal function module and bapi function module.

Hi
BAPI stands for Business API(Application Program Interface).
A BAPI is remotely enabled function module ie it can be invoked from remote programs like standalone JAVA programs, web interface etc..
You can make your function module remotely enabled in attributes of Function module but
A BAPI are standard SAP function modules provided by SAP for remote access. Also they are part of Businees Objest Repository(BOR).
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
