Send to Back Puts Image Behind MASTER Elements

I have a full screen image on a master slide.
When I Send to Back an image on a slide using that master, it sends it behind the full screen image, effectively making it disappear.
It doesn't make any sense why master elements are "live" and part of this layering. I've tried locking elements on the master, but still no fix.
Any advice?

This is unusual in my experience. The reason you may want some master elements live as you call them is they may be screening or partially masking an image (photo) so need to be above it. Are you using your own master or a shipped/3rd party one? You can always bring your slide elements forward or backward one layer at a time Opt-Shift-Com-B or sent to back and then bring forward Opt-Shift-Com-F.

Put movie behind existing elements, how?

I am placing a movie clip in the swf by AS. In the resulting swf, It's hiding the buttons that are already on the stage. How do I get that movie clip to be behind other elements on the stage?
Here's the background and details: In Flash CS4, I have existing "Forward" and "Back" buttons on the stage, frame1 of the topmost layer Artwork, placed manually, nothing else on the stage. I made a movie clip and it exists in the library but is not on the stage, it's called up via AS, which is in frame 1, actions layer (the layer below the artwork). My AS3 looks like this:

Works great, very effecient, thanks to a teacher, except the buttons are hidden underneath the movie clip. I can prove that by editing the clip and moving the artwork in the movie clip off to one side, and then re-run the preview and the buttons are visible and work, but I want the movie clip elements in their original location, just want it to go underneath, back to the background.
I've already tried obvious methods like placing the layer that has the buttons as the topmost layer, and right clicking on the buttons and going to "arrange, bring to front." Doesn't fix it.
If I had to guess, I need a property for the placeChild to make it "send to the back". How do I do that?
Please give me the exact code and location, I'm just a newbie to AS. Thanks.

That was exactly the ticket, I just changed my addChild line to:
addChildAt(mainmovie,0);

How to put image behind text on new pages?

Hey I usually drag photos into my pages doc and then write text over them by selecting "place object in background" or whatever it was. I do that to make flyers and tourbooks. On the new pages it is not clear to me how to do this.

Due the rewrite of Pages v5, about 100 features and functionality are missing from the prior release of Pages, the original that now resides in your /Applications/iWork '09 folder. My recommendation is to use the older, but more functional Pages ’09 v4.3.
If you want text to flow over a background image in Pages v5, do the following:
Under the Format panel Arrange tab, set Text Wrap to None.
Drop your image in your document and position it where you want. Even opaquely over existing text.
Menu > Arrange > Section Masters
Select Move Object to Section Master
Make Master Objects Selectable
Immediately, your image is now in the background with yellow grips, and any existing text is above it. At any time, you can move or resize that image behind the text.
Still suggest you retreat to the older Pages though.

Send image back - background image

Is anyone else having the issue where the options in the "arrange" section, when having an image selected, does not allow you to send it back or forward. I can't send an image to the background with text appearing on top of it. It's not the case with all images just a few in my document.

If you apply the changes to the Master Slides, then each time you use that slide, you won't have to re-apply the background. If you instead want to change the background for ALL slides...
Then you'll do it in the above tab of the inspector. Just click on "Color Fill", set the Fill to "Image" and then choose the image.

Copying an image then send to back?

Hello,
I have copied an image from power point and pasted into my fla project. I have a line that appears underneath the image and I would like it to go over top of it. So I clicked on send to back, and that doesn't work. I tried to bring the line forward that doesn't work. I selected the image then clicked on "break apart" but the line does not appear to go over the image.
How could I get the line to appear over the image?

Images Behind Text in RTF Template

While creating a few rtf templates, I noticed that if an image is to be shown behind text then the image will not render to back to .rtf by bi pub.
If I put the image inline with text, it renders just fine.
Am I missing a step that would allow me to render the image behind text or is it just working as intended?

Pages 5.2.2 won't "send to back"

I have recently upgraded my Pages version to 5.2.2. I am having an issue moving an image backward. If I click "Send to Back" it won't go behind my text. I have gone into Format-Arrange and used the 'Send to Back' icons, and have also used the Arrange drop down. Both won't send my image all the way to the back.
Please help.

I thought it used to be easy too. And when I tried it with 5.2.2 this evening neither buttons on the Inspector's 'Arrange' menu nor the 'Arrange' drop down menu itself would allow selection. They were all greyed out.
I think they've now added a thing called 'Section Master' under the 'Arrange' menu. I highlighted the image (handles now showing) and in the 'Arrange' menu I selected 'Section Masters' and then clicked 'Move Object to Section Master' which did the trick.

Cant put image on top of another image

Hi,
I'm using keynote 09 with the 'Blueprint' theme. I'm attempting to edit the master slides by putting a company logo in the corner of each slide. This works fine on slides without images, but on slides with images, keynote will not let me put my logo over the image placeholder. The placeholder image always blocks my logo, even when I choose 'Send backward' on the place holder.
Is there a way around this?

Sorry, I was typing fast.
The problem is that you cannot put images above media placeholders on master slides. One suggestion was to make my image (my logo comprised mostly of white text) a media placeholder as well, therefore I could edit the master slide and layer my new media placeholder (logo) above the default-already-existing placeholder (some architectural image in the blueprint theme).
This works but has an additional problem.
Since my logo is white text, I wanted for it to stand out from the picture beneath it. As I sometimes do, I thought I should place my white-text-logo on top of a small black rounded rectangle with transparency (like a cartouche).
I like to do that because it makes my logo legible, while still showing the picture through the transparency. INdeed, this is easy to do if you are only dealing with pictures and shapes (and not the magical placeholder versions of them)
You can make the shape a text placeholder, and you can make the image (logo) a media placeholder, but you can't group the two together as a unit. And if you group them first, then you cannot make your group (shape+image-logo) a placeholder at all, so you then cannot layer it on top of the default image place holders.
I was saying that I'd have to open my logo in photoshop and put it on top of a 'cartouche' and then import that modified image, and THEN make it a media placeholder.
But obviously it would be easier if keynote just let us properly layer elements as you would expect it to work.
I mean, setting images aside, why can't I create a shape and put it in front of a media placeholder without making the shape a text placeholder?
Of course I can edit my logo and add dropshadow or glow to make it stand out, but even then, I would need to make it a placeholder before keynote would let me layer on top of another placeholder. And if I'm going through the trouble of using photoshop to add shadows or glows, I might as well just put the image on top of a cartouche as originally desired.
