Send updated xml file to the client with out any request

hi,
I am showing the data in the form of a table ,where the data are taken from a XML file. If i change the content of that XML file, the server should send the updated data to that client page, that means the client page should get refreshed automatically when there is a change in that XML file. I dont have any idea to implement this requirement.This is very urgent. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Already i have referred www.pushlets.com but that is not so clear. so pls............

The client is not supposed to know the server. You will need to have a periodic refresh. :)

Can I send an XML file to the server instead of just URL?

I have installed the XML demos on my machine. I am using Oracle 8i. All the demos talks about getting URL and Parameter from the HTML Page, instead of this I want to send my XML file from Java Applet to server. Then do all the searching as is going on right now in the demos. After this I want to send another XML file back from server to client applet.

Client<-----XMLFILE<------SERVER
Do we have any DEMO which shows that how to send request through XML file instead of
"http://MachineName:Port/XSQL/DEMO/emp.xsql?find=A".
I know that we are not using Java Applets in the demos but I will interact this file with applet, it's not a problem.
I would appreciate if anyone who is really knowlegeable about these demos can answer my question.

How to update XML file from the program

i am new in abap , and i have the following issue,so plz anyone who knows how to do it
Background :
An XML file is used as the datasource for a Flex Application. From time to time this requires updating with new staff details.
i have already saved the xml file in the c drive with the name C:\AdvAC\AC1\bin-debug\assets\staff
Requirement : Write a Dialog transaction with the following text input fields.
Reference Indicator.     (Char10)
Staff No          (NUMC, Length 5)
Name               (Char50)
Room               (Numc, length 3)
Phone               (Numc Length 7)
Mail               (char30)
in screen 100
The transaction should also have an u201CUpdate Fileu201D button, which when pressed :
1) Loads the file C:\AdvAC\AC1\bin-debug\assets \ into an ITAB.
2) Inserts the data into the ITAB using the following XML format.
<staff>
<ref_ind> Reference Indicator.</ref_ind>
<staff_no> Staff No </staff_no>
<name> Name </name>
<room> Room </room>
<phone> Phone </phone>
<mail> Mail </mail>
</staff>
all should be inside <allstaff> </allstaff> tagsu2026.
Writes the ITAB back to the file.

How do I get an XML file on the client side hard drive

Is there a way to get XML files from a Flex form and get it
to the hard drive on the client side? I realize Microsoft got
impaled by allowing this sort of thing with ActiveX. We would like
the app to be browser based but need XML files dropped off on the
hard drive. There is an application running locally that needs to
consume them. Can I run flex standalone without web services and
still access the hard drive? Seems robust enough to do so.

Send a txt file to the printer with java

I want to sent a txt file to the printer in java. I' am using the USB port. I can try to setup a dos command (print c:\test.txt), but I don't know the exactly command.
There is also another solution in java I thing but I don't know the code!
Can somebody give me the exact command for DOS and/or the code I have to write in java?

in dos imo you are not able to use usb-port. if your printer would be on lpt you could use javacomm ( http://java.sun.com/products/javacomm/index.html ). there is also another thread talking about this (print text to lpt). for your usb-problem i don't have a solution. but you could use JNI (java native interface). write code in c, compile to dll and use it in java.

however, is write xml to what is known as a SharedObject.
SharedObjects act as cookies for Flashplayer.

SAP BW data in ODS to XML and sending this XML file to 3rd Party

We are having a scenario in which we have to convert our data in ODS to XML and need to provide this XML file to our clients so that they can use this XML file in their 3rd party system.
Now the issue is that i have created ABAP program for converting into XML.
If I execute this program, since i have given path as my Desktop, the converted XML file gets saved on my Desktop.
But the problem is how i can provide this XML file to the client.
Is there any way of converting this XML file to html and send them the URL ......
plz suggest me.... what can be done......

Sending an Image file to a client using UDP

I wants to send an Image file from the client to the server using UDP. As UDP can only sends data of type byte, how can i convert the Image file to byte & send it. Here is the Client program:

Help: question on send XML file from java client to java server

Hi, I am now to Java, and now I am going to set up a simple network in the lab.
I have created a random array of data and transferred to XML file on my client. Now, I would like to send it to the server. I am wondering how I can put the XML file into my client, and do I need any parser to let the server show what random date it has received?
Anybody can give me any idea or some basic code? Thank you.
Now, I am referring the KnockKnock example in Java online tutorial. But, not clear how to deal with the XML File.

There are several ways you can achieve this: one could be that you transfer data over HTTP, using Servlets for instance. Have a Servlet listening on the Server with content type 'text/xml', POST the XML data to the server and have the Servlet to receive the data and re-compose the XML file. This can be achieved with different libraries:
1) JAXB --> this is good because is the JDK standard, also for web services
2) Castor (http://www.castor.org/)

Im using ReloadEvery 3.6.3 & Live HTTP Headers 0.16 plugin's for playin mobsters on myspace. After capturing the the script, editing & placing in the address bar I recieve a message: Failed Security. yea I got the same error for playing files on filestube and its just not that, ever since 2 days ago when I updated firefox everything have just started to ..uck up all the time, high cpu memory load without any addons and it wont terminate for another 20secs after I close it... Unable to send a test message (XML file) at the runtime workbench..

we are not able to send a test message (XML file) at the runtime workbench just to test Idoc's. From the component monitoring, under the integration engine, test message- i have given all the parameters like sender and receiver service, interface namespace with the user id and password details. when i say send message it is throwing error while sending. not even displaying any error to attach here. I beleive it is a configuration problem in the integration directory. what do you reckon guys?

It is a sender Idoc. we are using sender agreement and comm channel.
Why are you using a channel and agreement for IDOC....we dont need it when IDOC is sender!
All the channels and agreements (if created) are in XI/ PI and we can delete them if they are not required

I did the update to 3.6.11 - when it restarted it will not open any pages. When i go to check for updates it gives me this error: Update XML file malformed (200) - Any advice?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
