Sending controller context value attributes to web service model

Hi,
I have put some parameters (value Attributes) in controller context and mapped to different views. Is there any way by which i can send the values to the web service model , each time the web service is called? like through header or some thing like that??

Hi Sujesh,
Read those value attributes in your controller using following code:
wdcontext.currentContextElement().get<attribute>();
and then set these value in your web service model.
<model name> model = new <model name>();
model.set<attribute>(<value>);
wdcontext.node<nodename of your web service model>().bind(model);
wdcontext.current<nodename of your web service model>element().modelobject().execute();

  • Custom controller context value attribute

    Hello,
    I have a custom controller with one value attribute. In the wdDoInit() method of the custom controller I can not access this attribute using:
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setAttrib()
    Why?
    The same works without any problems using the component controller instead of the custom controller.
    Thanks, cheers,
    Felix

    Hi,
    I have created the custom controller and within that I have created the attribute.
    Now I am able to access the attribute by using thr same code.
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setAge(" ");
    After creation of custom controller you just save all metadata. Then check it.
    I think you will get  the attribute.
    Thanks

  • How to map single context value attribute to multiple value attributes?

    Hello,
    is there any way to map a single value attribute
    from view's context into several value attributes
    in controller's context?
    The business context of what I want to achieve
    is the following: I have a view which can be called
    in two modes: read only (RO) and read-write (RW).
    The input parameters to the view are the same for
    both modes, however when in RO mode, the view calls
    a different set of web services than when called
    in RW mode. Before calling each of the web services
    I need to populate their context value attributes
    with appropriate input values.
    I know I can do it in Java code, but is it possible
    to do it without any programming (doing it in the
    source code is prone to errors)?
    Any help highly appreciated.
    Greetings,
    Tomek.

    Hi Kishore,
    than you very much for your kind help.
    I have already created a value attribute of type
    boolean and mapped it into the read-only property
    of the UI elements. This however does not solve all
    of the problems... I will describe it with an
    example:
    Let's say the form I want to implement will be
    used to: create (read-write mode), update (read-
    write mode) or show (read-only mode) customer's
    data. The customer's data is complex (lots of
    data, including tree structures).
    The problem is that:
    - when the form is called in read-only mode,
      it should populate its fields with values
      provided by the getCustomerData web service,
    - when the form is called to create a new
      customer (in read-write) mode, it should
      not use the getCustomerData web service.
      Instead it should map the input values
      entered by the user into input parameters
      of the createNewCustomer web service,
    - when the form is called to update customer's
      data, it should first display values returned
      by the getCustomerData web service, and then
      it should map the modified values entered by
      the user into input parameters of the
      updateCustomer web service,
    In all the above cases I must map my view's
    context data to different controller's context
    elements. Doing it directly in the source code
    is not a nice solution. Is there any other
    way to achieve this?
    Calling a form in different modes in not an
    unusual thing, so I was hoping that maybe
    there are any built-in mechanisms that would
    solve the obove problem...
    Greetings,
    Tomek.

  • Mapping input values for a web service connection to a range of cells

    I've created a web service connection in Xcelsius data manager. My web service requires an array of integer as input parameter. How do I map input values for a web service connection to read from a range of cells in the spreadsheet, e.g. $A$2:$A$20, in similar way of mapping output values to write to a range of cells in the spreadsheet?
    For output values of the web service, I can specify to map the output values to write to a range of cells. However, it doesn't seem to work for reading the input values.
    I can map input values for each node to a single cell, e.g. $A$2, in the spreadsheet. However, when I set the "Read From" field to a range of cells, e.g. $A$2:$A$20, it only reads in the first value in the range.
    Is there any way that we can do this mapping for input values as we do for output values?
    Your assistance is very much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Van

    Van,
    There is a workaround for that...
    Example:
    My Webservice accepts input data range in a specific format with " :" symbol, i.e. 072008:082008
    Now what i do is
    A1 = 072008
    A2 = 082008
    A3 = CONCATENATE(A1,":",A2)
    so A3 = 072008:082008
    Now i map the input value in web service to cell A3
    P.S have 2 input box components and map it to cells A1 and A2, i.e you are giving users an  option to enter the range of values...then web service will capture the range and refreshes data with the range of values user entered.
    hope this helps..

  • ABAP proxy client sending to XI   by using the WEB Service

    Hi
    I have scenario where ABAP Proxy need to send the data by calling a web service middleware as SAP XI/PI,
    Can anyone please provide the details of the scenarion that ABAP Proxy calls the webservice to send the data and receive it back the response, (Synchronous communication)
    Thanks
    PR

    Hi PR
    My understanding of your requirement is like
    Proxy <-> XI <-> SOAP.
    Steps.
    1. Create Client proxy to send data to XI
    2. Import the WSDL provided by receiver system in XI
    3. Do IR steps
    4. ID - SA is not required
    5. Configure Receiver SOAP adapter using the URL and Soap Action from the WSDL you received.
    Thanks

  • WebDynpro External Web Service Model

    I am writing an application in web dynpro which uses web service model. In that model there are lot of complex data types.
    External webservice i am using is
    http://arcweb.esri.com/services/v2/MapImage.wsdl
    I am facing couple of problems.
    1.
    If the webservice is having overloaded methods,it is generating error for the second overloaded method.The stub file itself contains statment as follow:
    Response = new();
    2.
    While calling the methods there are some default values which are needed to be assigned to elements. So i am not binding such elements to any UI. I have created a context in a Component and liked with the web model. In woInit() method of the controller i am initializing request and binding it to the model. After that i am assigning the default values to some of the elements as follow for eg.
    Request_xyz req = new Request_xyz();
    wdCOntext.nodeRequest_xyz.bind(req);
    req.setx("x");
    XYZ x = new XYZ();
    x.setT1("t1");
    x.setT2{"t2");
    req.setXYZ(x);
    When i send the request what i observed that the values for the complex type XYZ is passing as null in the stub.
    but the values of req.setx("x") is available.
    Can you help me in this as it seems the problem with the serialization?
    3.The function which I am trying to access needs some Complex data type array. When i checked the SOAP request i found that the namespace for the array type is getting blank values. Because of which SOAP response is giving exception.
    The SOAP request is as below. For the <maker> which is an array ,the xmlns:tns='' is generated.

  • Web Dynpro Import Web Service Model - not a valid NCName

    Hi people,
    We are having a problem while importing a WSDL as an Adaptive Web Service Model in Web Dynpro (CE 7.2 SP03).
    The error is the following:
    "Definition of qualified base /schema/element[5]/complexType/sequence/element[4] is not correct. The value of property is not a valid NCName."
    We tried importing the same WSDL in other tools (XML Spy and SOAP UI). With these tools it could be read without errors and were able to successfully call the service.
    The point is, why the import fails in Web Dynpro if the WSDL can be read in other tools ? Can we do something in WD to import the WSDL that is supposed to be "not correct" ?
    Thanks in advance for your comments,
    Daniel

    Hi Pranav,
    I was facing this issue sometime back and i figured out that the ABAP proxy namespace in my case had a '/' in it, because of which the internal name of the service had a '/' character too.
    And this was unacceptable for the endpoint binding name in my case.
    Since it is occuring for you in case of the service name (i figured it out from attribute definations/services@name), check if the proxy name have a special character like '/'.

    Hi,
    First, can you check whether you able to access your web service url in browser?
    or
    you can test your webservice from the NWDI Web service perspective, here you can test your web service is correctly functioning or not before using in your Web Dynpro application.
    This document clearly explains How to test the web service url and what is the correct procedure to consume the web service in SAP portal.

  • Generate web service model in web dynpro

    Hi,
    I have a web service which I generated a model in web dynpro and working fine.
    But the problem is that when I update my web service(change in method prototype, number of parameters, data type changes) I need to regenerate the model again and need to map to context elements.
    So, is there any way so that I can update my model instead of regenerating entire model to reflect to new changes in web service.
    Thanks for your time and effort.
    Regards,
    Shiva.

    Hi Shiva,
    Please look at this weblog for reimporting web service model.

    There is no direct method available for that. But u can do by following this method.

  • WEB DYNPRO AND WEB SERVICE MODEL: ejb remove doesn't work

    Hi guru,
    this is my scenario:
    J2EE-7.00 SP14-> PORTAL ->7 sp14  ->WEB DYNPRO FOR JAVA ->Web Service Model ->  WS Custom with MDM API JAVA
    The my WS is a Stateless Session Bean and i have this code:
         public void ejbCreate() throws CreateException {
              loc.setMinimumSeverity(Severity.INFO);
              loc.addLog(new ConsoleLog());
              this.plug = (MdmPlug) new MdmPlug(true);

    The my problem is:
    When open the IE and open my WD  the new EJB's instance is created (I see my log +"[ ejbCreate ] START....in LOG VIEWER).
    But, when I do log-off or I close IE, I don't see "[ ejbRemove ] STOP...." in LOG.
    Result:
    I open the MDM connection but not close it.
    Where is the problem?
    In Web Dynpro?
    In Web services?
    I have to create another WS's type?

    Hi Max,
    You can't run an EJBControl from a simple java class using either @Control or programmatic instantiation.
    The EJBControl implementation relies on Resource Context events so it "needs" a container context to run.
    You can use the ControlTestCase to unit test an EJB via EJB Control. You will need to configure the JNDIContextEnv annotation to bind to the server where the EJB is deployed. Note that this only works with EJBs that have a remote interface and a global JNDI name.
    The test case would look something like this (I've seen this example run as long as the JUnit classpath includes weblogic.jar)
    public class SimpleClient extends ControlTestCase {
    public void setUp() throws Exception { super.setUp(); }
    public void tearDown() throws Exception { super.tearDown(); }
    @Control
    @EchoEjbControl.JNDIContextEnv(
    contextFactory="weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory",
    providerURL="t3://localhost:7001",

  • Prob with Adaptive Web Service Model and Response with reference of itself

    Hi guys,
    I am facing a problem with the Adaptive WebService Model. I have a WebService which is working properly in a Servlet and also in the web service navigator,
    The webService has a method let´s say create(objectDTO). The structure of objectDTO is like this:
    propertieA
    propertieB
    propertieC
    propertieChildObjectDTO
    So I can pass a list of objectDTOs to the webService. If i import the webService the structure in the model looks fine, but if i want to map it to any context, only the properties A-C are mapped. propertieChildObjectDTO is not mapped.
    Has anyone a clue on how to solve this problem ? I just tried to add and initialize the propertieChildObjectDTO manually but I got a NullPointerException.
    I would appreciate  your help.
    Happy new year guys
    Regards

  • Problem executing a web service using adaptive web service model

    I'm trying to execute a web servide using the adaptive web service model. The web service is generated by a java web application using apache axis 1.2<br/>
    I can import the model without problems, but when I try to run the application (containing a form for parameters, a button to execute the web service and a table to show results) it gives the following exception: <br/><br/>
