Sending files to remote clients
I am trying to send some files to client computers. The "copy item status" window says it has "qued the task" but then nothing happens.
I have tried sending the file to different destinations, no difference.
Suggestions?
Intel imac Mac OS X (10.4.7) ARD v. 2.2
Several things can cause a task to que... Make sure that you are not actively controlling another system, there are no other tasks active, the item is not in use, and you don't have another system set as your task server. If none of these apply, try quitting ARD and relaunching it and give it another shot.

Using FetchType.LAZY when sending entity to remote client
Is it possible to use FetchType.LAZY when sending an entity (let's say Person) to a remote client? I'm fine with the fact that a call to person.getAddress() would have to return null o throw an exception of some sort. But, is it possible to even send the Person object when using lazy fetching?
yeah, if you add the CMP jars to the client, it should work, but, if they attempt to introspect the lazy collection, a runtime exception will be thrown since their local copy does not have access to the backing DB... ..I understand the hesitance to have separate object types for different consumers, but, in some cases, it can save time in the long run because you a) avoid these access exceptions and b) have a middle API that can insulate the client or server from changes on the other end (i.e. the server now holds all 'tenants' as a Set, rather then List, but the VO objects still return it as a List so that client code does not need to be updated). You can also find tools to generate the value objects, so your development costs aren't too much hire during the initial release...

Sender File Adapter - remote FTP server program execution
Hi all,
I have a scenario
X12 -> XI -> File
where sender File adapter is used. The input file is X12 txt document which needs to be converted into X12 xml format. I have created astylus studio XSLT mapping which uses Convertor to convert this txt file to X12 XML.
I don't know how to configure sender file adpater to run this mapping on the source file before picking it up. have created a windows batch file on the FTP server which runs tis XSLT mapping on the txt file and replaces it with X12 format xml. This batch file uses command line parameters of stylus studio to run XSLT mapping on input txt file and generates an xml.
I am not sure how to run this mapping on the input file before processing starts in PI file adapater.
I tried running command line parameters of Sender file adapter but that didn't worked.
Please help.
Thanks
-KulwantHi, Kulwant:
Looks like you would like to execute your mapping program before file adapter pick it up.
Right ? for one interface, it seems out of the XI scope, however if this is your requirement, you can separate into two interfaces:
The first interface is file to file scenario, it is used to execute your mapping program:
The file sender just pick up the txt file, send to integration engine.
Your Message Mapping program need to specify your XSLT mapping, after the mapping, the message is XML format,
then you will use file receiver to send it to certain directory.
Now the XML format file is your input of your second interface.
Regards.

Sending file from server to client
I am creating a server that stores application updates. When the client connects the server send the update. The server is sending the file but the file is not complete, i.e, if the file is 317kb,its send 117kb. Below is the code i am using
import java.io.BufferedInputStream;
import java.io.File;
import java.io.FileInputStream;
import java.io.IOException;
import java.io.OutputStream;
import java.net.ServerSocket;
import java.net.Socket;
public class TestFileServer {
public final static int SOCKET_PORT = 13267;
public final static String FILE_TO_SEND = "/home/test/1234.exe"; //Does the extension matter?
public static void main (String [] args ) throws IOException {
FileInputStream fis = null;
BufferedInputStream bis = null;
OutputStream os = null;
ServerSocket servsock = null;
Socket sock = null;
try {
servsock = new ServerSocket(SOCKET_PORT);
while (true) {
System.out.println("Waiting...");
try {
sock = servsock.accept();
System.out.println("Accepted connection : " + sock);
// send file
File myFile = new File (FILE_TO_SEND);
byte [] mybytearray = new byte [(int)myFile.length()];
fis = new FileInputStream(myFile);
bis = new BufferedInputStream(fis);
bis.read(mybytearray,0,mybytearray.length);
os = sock.getOutputStream();
System.out.println("Sending " + FILE_TO_SEND + "(" + mybytearray.length + " bytes)");
os.write(mybytearray,0,mybytearray.length);
os.flush();
System.out.println("Done.");
finally {
if (bis != null) bis.close();
if (os != null) os.close();
if (sock!=null) sock.close();
finally {
if (servsock != null) servsock.close();
What could the problem be?What could the problem be?
The FIRST problem is that your code has NO exception handler and is just HIDING any exceptions that might be occuring.
Why are you doing that?
Code should either HANDLE an exception or let it bubble up to the caller.
Add exception handling to the code and rerun it to see if any exceptions are occuring that could be affecting the outcome.
The SECOND problem is that you are NOT showing the client side that is being used and any code that might be causing/handling/hiding exceptions on the client side.
Post a simple test case that includes both server and client that demonstrates the problem you have. -
Help: question on send XML file from java client to java server
Hi, I am now to Java, and now I am going to set up a simple network in the lab.
I have created a random array of data and transferred to XML file on my client. Now, I would like to send it to the server. I am wondering how I can put the XML file into my client, and do I need any parser to let the server show what random date it has received?
Anybody can give me any idea or some basic code? Thank you.
Now, I am referring the KnockKnock example in Java online tutorial. But, not clear how to deal with the XML File.
FengyuanThere are several ways you can achieve this: one could be that you transfer data over HTTP, using Servlets for instance. Have a Servlet listening on the Server with content type 'text/xml', POST the XML data to the server and have the Servlet to receive the data and re-compose the XML file. This can be achieved with different libraries:
1) JAXB --> this is good because is the JDK standard, also for web services
2) Castor (http://www.castor.org/) -
How to generate graphs from csv file and show on remote clients?
Hi,
I have set of csv files. Each file has 104 parameters. From these parameters different graphs have to be generated and displayed to remote clients thru tomcat.
Can anyone tell me how to do that?
cheers,
its reejuit's very easy to load the CSV into java objects. Once you have done that why not use the Java2D API to draw your graphs and then use the Sun JPG encoder tools to write out a jpg stream back to the browser (you will need to set the content type for jpg).

tksHi,
From my experience, we can consider upload file to azure storage blob when click send button, after this process end, we send message and let other person to download this file form azure storage blob. Refer to
http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/storage-dotnet-how-to-use-blobs/ for more details about upload/download files. Hope this helps.

How do I send a large Illustrator CS3 file to a client that needs it for printing?
How do I send a large Illustrator CS3 file to a client that needs it for printing?
Hey, another way that i just discovered by complete accident is by selecting what you want to send, and in Illustrator, going to File>Save For > and then click on okay. > then you save it under Pictures or wherever you wish, and name it. Now, all you have to do is compose an email, and attach it!
Hopefully this works for you like it does for me!

The next time I go on vacation im going to use my camera to take raw image files and would like to send them back to my mac mini from a remote laptop (id like to use linux but could use windows I suppose lol). Should I get OSX server (wait for mountain lion of course) or some other method? I know I can just get more storage on dropbox but id rather not have to pay the monthly fee.
ThanksEven if the term "to share" also addresses using belongings of other persons
I think giving own belonging to others for use by them is mainly addressed by thas term,
I mean as for the term "to share" its outbound sense comes before its inbound sense.
Nevertheless if the term "to share" covers both giving as well as receiving the System Preferences,
the Bluetooth section should cover these two. Otherwise the naming is misleading.
Currently for sending files through BT to peers works even if the BT sharing is disabled. -
Sending an Image file to a client using UDP
I wants to send an Image file from the client to the server using UDP. As UDP can only sends data of type byte, how can i convert the Image file to byte & send it. Here is the Client program:

Lion IChat cannot send files to other chat clients in Lion yet?
So we have facetime and Ichat and none of them can send files to google talk or any other client?
Everyone I know uses google talk
If you'd like to make calls or transfer files through Google Talk, you need to:
Enable UDP connections to anywhere on any port; or
Enable TCP connections to anywhere on port 443.Hi Jordan,
iChat sends Files on Port 5190. It does not matter whether this is with a Text chat or not (dragging the files to the Buddy's name).
It uses the UDP protocol to do this. If you or your Buddy have used Port Triggering you are almost certainly going to have to speicfy protocols. Some device also do this on Port Forwarding.
UPnP if you have it will get around this.
With some devices that Port Forward and want you to specify Protocols you can have problems. In this case delete or disable any Port Forwarding for the TCP protocol on port 5190 and change the port in iChat > preferences > Accounts (AIM) > Server Setting tab (Near the top) to 443
