Sending SOAP Attachments through BPEL--Urgent

Hi All,
we are calling one external web service from bpel.webservice expecting 2 attachments as part of request. here is the sample soap request.
*<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:imp="http://www.agile.com/2004/01/ais/import">*
*<soapenv:Header/>*
*<soapenv:Body>*
*<imp:importDataRequest>*
*<imp:dataSource>*
*<imp:attachmentRef href="cid:12266262222"/>*
*<imp:type>aXML</imp:type>*
*</imp:dataSource>*
*<imp:mapping>*
*<imp:attachmentRef href="cid:9876553333"/>*
*</imp:mapping>*
*</imp:importDataRequest>*
*</soapenv:Body>*
*</soapenv:Envelope>*
1.how can we attach file throgh bpel in SOAP request and then how to provide reference number to href field..
2. is there any alternative to achive this?
if anyone have the working example or link please send me to [email protected]
Thanks,
Sudhakar.M

You could create a variable base64Binary and assign the content of the ora:getAttachmentContent() return value. And then write to a file using the option "Native format translation is not required (Schema is opaque)" from the file adapter and assign to the opaque element.

  • Problem sending big attachments through mail - E72

    I've tried both profimail & the built-in client but most of the time it gives error like 'connection timeout or 'unable to send'. Is anyone else experiencing this problem ? This happens when the file size is around 2-3 MB.

    I just tried sending myself a 3.5 MB mp3 file on my E73, and then again a 3.6 MB mp3.  Both sent and downloaded smoothly with no issues.  But I don't do this very often, so my results could be different next time...  Have you tried upgrading to the new Nokia Email 3.09.0 client?  Your phone's layout may be different, but I upgraded through Control Panel -> Phone -> SW Update.  I don't think the older 3.05 beta from the Betalabs site mentioned large attachment problems, but it's worth a try.
    If that doesn't help, I wonder if this could be a network problem or a mail server problem.  Do you ever have trouble downloading large files from the web, streaming audio or video, etc.?  Do you get strong 3G coverage?  If you use a desktop computer, do you ever have trouble sending large attachments with this email account?  (Avoid testing with webmail, if at all possible.)  Does the file send eventually?

  • Sending Meeting Requests through BPEL

    Hi,
    I am working on Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5.0, I want to send a meeting request(to multiple recipients) on Outlook or any other mail account through BPEL. Can anyone suggest how to go about that?

    Hi whartung,
    Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it.
    I think what you are suggesting is exactly what Outlook View Control is. Unfortunately, as I've mentioned, it seems that Microsoft did not give it sufficient controls to be able to pre-populate a new Meeting Request. You can only invoke the Outlook UI to create the Meeting Request, but there's no APIs to populate the new Meeting Request.
    Have however found a possible alternative in the meantime:
    Outlook supports iCalendar files which is a standard for calendaring information storage, and it is able to process a Meeting Request from an iCalendar file which contains details of the Meeting Request.
    So what I'm looking to do is this:
    1) Create the iCalendar file in the backend with Java.
    2) Send an email to the user(s) who is intended to receive the Meeting Request, with the iCalendar file attached.
    3) User clicks on the iCalendar file, which prompts them to process the Meeting Request.
    Somewhat indirect, but gets the Meeting Request across, and all the 3 steps are actually possible.
    Furthur to this, it opens up the possibility of sending Outllook Contacts (which supports iCard format) through similar mechanisms as well!

  • How to send pdf attachment through BPEL

    Hi All,
    I have been looking for a solution to send a pdf as an attachment in bpel. My requirement is,
    - Send a SOAP request to 'SendAttachment' bpel service with all the input parameters
    - SendAttachment bpel service validates the input and generates the pdf within the bpel process
    - SendAttachment bpel has to return the generated pdf as attachment along with response payload.
    I did some research but couldn't a relevant scenario. I have no idea about how to start with. Experts, please suggest on how to implement this scenario.
    Thanks in advance,
    Satya.

    Dear Ravi,
    I tried to build a small application to handle the above mentioned scenario. But I am unable to send pdf as attachment in BPEL. Below are the details,
    1) Created a standalone weblogic webservice(instead of ejb as you mentioned) - 'GetAttachmentService' in eclipse that will create a pdf and send it along with the xml response.
    2) In GetAttachmentService, created pdf is converted into byte[] and mapped to a 'base64Binary' element in 'GetAttachmentResponse'.
    3) Tested the above webservice successfully using SOAP UI. I am able to see the binary data as one of the elements in GetAttachmentResponse.
    4) Now, I have created a composite in SOA suite that will have a webservice adapter(to consume GetAttachmentService) and a BPEL process - 'SendAttachmentBPEL' to read the response elements.
    5) SendAttachmentBPEL response has a 'base64Binary' element to hold the binary data from GetAttachmentService response.
    6) Modified the SendAttachmentBPEL wsdl to accomodate mime content as below.
    7) Since there is mime part in wsdl, EM didn't allow me to test there. So I have used SOAP UI to test SendAttachmentBPEL, I am getting the pdf as binary data in one of the response elements rather as attachment. Please take a look at the below BPEL snippet and suggest if any changes are required.
    My objective is when I hit the SendAttachmentBPEL in SOAP UI, I should get back a response along with pdf attachment.

  • When I send image attachments through Mail they are received as very small and squashed. How can I change this?

    I have a problem sending image attachements (e.g., jpeg, png files etc) with the Mail utility from my MacBook Pro.  When people receive my email the attached image shows up not as an attached file that can be saved or downloaded, but as just a very small, squashed up version of the image imbedded in the email message itself.
    I usually add these attachments by simply dragging and dropping the desired file into the window of the email text. Is this the wrong way to do it?
    thanks
    Jerry

    Is this the wrong way to do it?
    The safest way to send images is to create a compressed file and send that.
    Click the image you want to send, go to File in the menu bar and select Compress... You end up with a file with a .zip at the end. Attach that to your email. Then trash the .zip file.
    The person at the other end only has to double click the .zip attachment.
    You can compress are single image or a folder of them.

  • How can we send multiple attachments in a mail from iPad 2

    Hi,
    I am using a ipad2. I want to know how we can send multiple attachments through mail from iPad. I did not find any option of doing this. Is there a way to do this.
    Regards,
    Satyabrat

    You can't do it natively on the iPad (unless you just want to send up to 5 photos from the Photos app). I use the GoodReader app which supports quite a few document/file types (e.g. PDF, Excel, Word, pictures), and from that I can select multiple files (including different types) and attach them to the same email.

    Hi,
    GP does not involve any sort of coding.
    Just like workflow, GP has a flow desgined in a process.
    Each step has a callable object associated with it.

    Hello!
    I'm sure you already solved the problem you had and I hope you can help me out with my little problem. I want to create a file upload with a web service. I copied the code from sun's tutorial (and now from your post), but I constantly get the NullPointerException on the call:
    AttachmentPart attachment = msg.createAttachmentPart()
    (or AttachmentPart attachment = msg.createAttachmentPart(dataHandler);)
    Can you please tell me what's wrong with my code?
    Thnx in advanced, D
    (BTW here is my code:)
    import javax.xml.soap.MessageFactory;
    import javax.xml.soap.SOAPConnection;
    import javax.xml.soap.SOAPConnectionFactory;
    import javax.xml.soap.SOAPMessage;
    public class client01 {
         public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception, MalformedURLException {
              MessageFactory factory = MessageFactory.newInstance();
              Message msg = factory.createMessage();
              ConnectionFactory soapConnectionFactory =  ConnectionFactory.newInstance();
                    Connection con =  soapConnectionFactory.createConnection();
                   FileDataSource fds = new
                   FileDataSource("C:"+File.separator+"image"+File.separator+"test01.jpg");
                DataHandler dh = new DataHandler(fds);
              AttachmentPart attachment = msg.createAttachmentPart(dh);
    (Here I get the Fatal server Error => NullPointerException)
       attachment.setContentId("attached_image");
                msg.addAttachmentPart(attachment);
                   msg.saveChanges();
                    URL endpoint = new

                  SOAPMessage response = con.call(msg, endpoint);

  • How to send SOAP Message with attachments?

    Hi All,
    I am working on a SOAP to RFC Scenario With specific requirement of handling the attachment(Mainly Excel Attachments) at the Sender SOAP Adapter.
    Kindly Suggest.
    I found lot of theoritical stuff but no practical scenario.
    Regards,
    Sachi

    Hi Sachi,
    To handle attachment in SOAP sender adapter  first of all you will have to use the AXIS message protocol.
    Then by using MessageTransformBean you can handle the attachment.
    1) Check this link for the module processing sequence used to get the attachment from SOAP
    SOAP Axis sender with CSV file attachment
    2) Check this blog which will help you on the usage of MessageTransformBean
    Solve Key Field Problem using StructPlain2XML in MessageTransformationBean!!
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/24/4cad3baabd4737bab64d0201bc0c6c/frameset.htm
    using MessageTransformBean you can handle only the text file attachments like comma separated file, pipe separated, fixed lengths etc. But if you are looking to handle a excel file you will have to use a java mapping to get the data from excel attached file. for this have a look at this following blog by Shabarish:
    Excel Files - How to handle them in SAP XI/PI (The Alternatives)
    Do remember to use SOAP Axis adapter and to tick the keep attachment option.
    Hope this helps.

  • Sending emails with attachments through outlook 2003

    Hello,
    I have recently switch from cablevison to Fios. With Cablevison, I never had a problem with email. However, now I am having problems sending emails with attachments using outlook 2003. I have called Verizon and we troubleshooted the problem and they feel this is a Microsoft problem.
    I can send email's without attachments through outlook and verizon.net, but I can't send emails with attachments through outlook, I can send them though verizon.net.  All my settings are correct for sending and receiving email.
    I called Microsoft and they say it a Verizon problem...
    HELP, does anyone have a solution?????
    Thanks
    Len628

    Which antivirus software do you run on your computer? Are there any errors posting?  Have you shut off any email firewalls temporarily to attempt to isolate your issue?  Do you have outlook 2003 on more than 1 pc in your home?  Have your tried to attach a small text file and send it to see if that goes thru successfully?

    Hi
    I think some basis related configuartions to be done
    Try like this and inform me
    A cyclic job runs, which processes the messages seen in the SOST queue.
    Are you sure it's not the frequency of the cyclic job, rather than the
    number of messages in the queue, that you are observing? In messages
    that are queued and before the cyclic job runs, "wait for comm. service"
    is the normal status.
    If you mean that there are always 4 items queued in SOST regardless of
    the cyclic send job, then I have no ideas. I would have thought there
    was no way to do that.
    when the send job runs it just never
    picks them up & sends them, while it picks up many others. The send job
    is somehow blind to these; no error message occurs. In this case, I
    'delete' them from the queue (in SOST) and then 'undelete' (drop down
    menu -> /Go to /Deleted Items) them and then re-queue them. THEN they
    actually get picked up & sent when the next cyclic send job executes.

    Pavan

  • Sender SOAP EOIO Queue - Urgent

    Hi all,
    Could any one help me with this.
    We have a scenario, where we send Mat. Master data to R/3. There is a thrid party app from which a SOAP request is sent to R/3 as there is webservice exposed on XI.
    When the SOAP sender adapter sends the soap request to XI, I would like to serialize the messages using QOS: EOIO. So that when they reach the target system which is R/3, the data does not get duplicated and is in some desired sequence.
    Coming to the actual tricky part,
    While defining the sender SOAP adapter, in the QueueID field, I would like to give a dynamic name. As I wanted to have different queue for each Material.
    Is it possilbe?
    The main reason for this is: Being EOIO if one fails all the subsequent messages will be in HOLD status which would sometimes make J2EE engine scream.
    Can any one help me with this.
    reg

    Hi ,
    Help me understand one thing ..since you are trying to keep things in order you are using EOIO ..
    So hypothetically even if you have dynamic queue for each message ..then they wont be in order would they ...i.e. qos for each wil EO for each message .
    Now In order ...to overcome this ....you can either use the serialisation concept of bpm or ...
    better
    for SOAP to idoc ..scenario .
    Use one of the given idocs ...extend if the need be ..write some kind of validation in the idoc posting function module ..
    trigger by background job ...the works you know ..
    and you will be good to go ..
    besides ..the messages in EOIO ..will fail till such time you take care of the valdation during mapping itself ...
    Which means better understanding of the data which is coming in...
    which you will get only after posting a few files ...monitoring
    and whenever one fails ...apply the necessary ..fix in mapping .
    That way your interface will only get better ..
    Since you are talking webservice on sender ...most important kind of ...validation
    you can have is ...existence check....
    Kindly consider
    Kindly Consider..

  • Attachments with BPEL itself...the UI part..?

    Hi friends!
    I saw that Oracle Does support Soap-with-Attachments(SwA), & now, even MTOM (with release 10.1.3.1)...which is indeed very good...! :)
    But suppose, i have a requirement of developing a Human-Task based BPEL in which there are lots of rounds of Approvals/Reviews & also the need for attaching Documents, Scanned Images of legal papers, etc...
    Now, the problem with using the MTOM, SwA, etc...is that the default UI for initiating the BPEL process-instance...(both the HTML form or the XML variant), does NOT present a simple, clear way that indicates that the user HAS to actually "attach" something as one of the inputs...! :-(
    Does anybody have any idea as to HOW a user initiating such a BPEL process instance would "attach" something at the start itself, as one of its inputs..!?
    Will it require developing a Specialized UI..??
    If so, how should we go about it..??
    That's Why, i believe that we can keep things simple & easy-to-use in such a scenario by simply having a "normal" Process-Input-Request, with ALL simple elements MINUS the Attachment part...& then, letting the Attachment be loaded in the task-flow via the Work-List application....{We have "Request for More info", & many other nice facilities...}
    What do you people feel about my idea...?!
    Any comments, suggestions in this regard would be very valuable...!
    Please do let me know...!
    Cheers..!

    Hi all,
    I have succeeded partially with my ESB idea for attachments for a BPEL process...
    I created an ESB project with 2 File-Adapters say, F1 & F2 both of which poll for input in the SAME local directory ...
    F1 is configured to pick-up .jpg files in raw mode...(this DOES send data to the BPEL in Base64 encoding automatically...but we'll have to de-code it manually..!?)
    F2 picks up .txt files & is configured to map the contents to a structured Schema...
    Now, i use another Routing system to "combine" the inputs from F1 & F2 using a transformation to create the INPUT to initiate/invoke my BPEL process which takes the Schema-part(some Text fields), PLUS a Base64Binary part as the input payload...!
    Now, my system seems to work as expected...
    It waits Till there are 2 files in my folder...a .jpg & a .txt file...
    But the problem is that it creates 2 different instances of my BPEL process --- one with ONLY the Base64 part & the other with Only the TEXT part filled in...
    Is there any problem in here...??
    Can we combine 2 inputs into 1 input in an ESB system before invoking a BPEL process..?
    Please let me know if you have any ideas/suggestions.....or suspicions...!
    From a real-world point of view, i Sincerely feel this would be a very important-yet-common scenario when BPEL is combined with Human Approvals/Interventions...& it would be great to know if there's anything to make this easier to use than what it is currently...!
    Thanks a lot..!

  • Generating dynamic Attachments between bpel process activities

    Dear Experts,
    Please suggest me that how to handle dynamic attachments in BPEL process with JDeveloper.
    The requirement was need to send an attachment between activities in same BPEL process
    and not sending an attachment through mail.
    For Instance consider a scenario "Need to issue an appointment order(Activity3) for the candidate if he successfully completed his assigned task(Activity1) and selected(Activity2)".
    Thanks ,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
    That's a nice requirement without using the Notification services to send the attachments.
    However, this can be achieved using the workflow service tasks as mentioned in : http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28981/workflow.htm#BABCAIEF
    Using this you can assign, play with attachments via tasks. Hope this helps to some extent!
