Hello!I want to make an application using netbeans,all i want is just to create a simple rtp application and i want to just send a string from the client to the server and the message to appear in the servers textbox.Thanks a lot!!!

RTP was designed for audio/video, not text. You might as well just use a normal socket...

Does anyone know of an app that sends texts through an Android number?

I own a prepaid Android phone and I was wondering if there was an app that was able to send texts through wifi while keeping my same Android number. Because my service is prepaid, I have very limited coverage and I was wondering if I could send texts off of my Ipod through wifi with the same number when I don't have service?

I am not aware of any iPod app that will allow you to use an Android's phone number as a testing number.

Can I send texts through wifi without using data?

I' m currently out of the US and want to know if I can send and recdive texts through wifi and not use any data. Same question for my emails.

Sending texts through gmail

Hi there, suddenly I am not receiving all text messages and occasionally when I send a message it shows up through my gmail account... Any thoughts?

I can only guess you are trying to attach the actual iMovie project file with the star on it, which will not work. If you export the movie from iMovie as a self contained Quicktime movie it will attach to any email providing the file size is not huge. I'm not sure about the Gmail attachment limits, but Yahoo and Hotmail have a 10mb limit for attachments, which breaks down to about two minutes of video exported from iMovie at CDROM quality.

Texts through email - resolved ..

I like to send texts through email because i have no service where i'm located. However recently none of my texts seem to be sending. I use yahoo and send to the address: [email protected] and i've also tried [email protected] Any ideas?
Nevermind, of course after I finally give up the texts from 2 days ago come through.. that is exactly how horrible of service i have.

You can do this whether you have an account with Verizon, AT&T, or any carrier. You don't even have to have a cell phone to send a text to someone who DOES have a cell phone!
It's up to the person you want to text to supply you with the address to send the email. That is, if you are using email to send the text. There are other sites that let you send texts and all you need is the recipients phone number. It has nothing to do with YOUR cell phone carrier.

Send text trough MMS?

I've just started using a Nokia Lumia 710. I've been on several Android phones before and a Windows Mobile 6.1 before those. I can't figure out how to send text through MMS without attaching a multimedia file. In Android it is very simple, just add a subject to the message and it is automatically converted to MMS. In WM 6.1 you start by creating a new text or new mms message. My carrier allows 140 characters for sms messages and 1000 characters for mms, so I used to send all my longer messages through mms.
On this Windows Phone 7.5 I can send mms, only if I attach a multimedia file or if I send the message to at least two phone numbers at the same time. Is it at all possible to send text only through mms in Windows Phone??

I can understand how you are upset, MJ406. I want to make sure that we do everything we can to get the text messages up and running with out any kind of problems.
When you are trying to send these text messages out are you connected to Wi-Fi or the cell network? If you are connected to wi-fi please do me a favor and turn of the wi-fi, try to send a text to see if it goes out without any kind of issues. Then go into Settings, Application Manager, Slide the screen to the ALL section, Scroll to Messaging and perform a force stop, clear cache, and clear data. Once that is done, power the device off and then turn back on. Once it is back up and running you can turn the wi-fi back on (if you had to turn it off) and retry sending a text message again.

My cousin isn't recieving my text messages. We never text through imessage because she is never connected to WIFI. Now, when I text her, it is sending through imessage but she isn't recieving them.

My cousin recently got an Ipad. Ever since then, when we text through our iphones, our thread is through imessage, and when I send her a text, it says delivered, but she isn't recieving them. She insists she has imessage turned off on both devices. She doesn't use imessage because she is never connected to wifi and doesn't want to use her data, so that is why we text through regular texting (green and white). I don't know if this has anything to do with her setting up her ipad, but my texts to her started sending through imessage only right after she set up the new device. My texts are being delivered somewhere because after I text her, it says "delivered" I can also recieve texts from her, she just can't see mine. Again, she said imessage is not activated on either of her devices, so I have no idea what the problem is. She is able to text other people with iphones just fine. We both have an iphone 5S, and she just got a used ipad mini. PLEASE HELP!!

It is no wonder she is not receiving your messages if she has iMessage turned off in her iPad.
For her to receive iMessages on the iPad, she needs to turn iMessage ON in her iPad and then she needs to be connected to the internet in order to receive them. This connection can go through WiFi or through cellular data if her iPad has this functionality, but those two requirements are a must.
1. iMessages ON
2. iPad connected to Wifi or cellular data.

.gif files no longer working when I send them through text

Hello,
I've been sending and receiving animated .gif files through Messages on my iphone for a long time without issue. However the last month or so the ones I send no longer animate. They still work if I view them through safari on my desktop computer so I know the files are not corrupted. The ones that people send me through Messages still work on my phone. But if I send one through text/imessage it's just a static image.
Anyone have any idea what could be going on or how to fix it?

No, that's definitely not it. I subscribe to several newspapers, and the online versions are meant to be printed and saved. Even when I find an offered up PDF version, it does not matter whether I save it or print it to PDF, it is not being recognized as text. When I do run OCR, it comes out very, very poor quality, which is not the case with scanned items and such.
I am currently getting by with copy/pasting to a word document, and then saving to PDF from there, for some reason this method IS working as usual. It does take considerably more time to do, however.
I'm still very confused at what could have changed in the past several days!

I am having issues with being able to send videos through text message after the update

I have the motorola droid 4 and after the recent update, I am no longer able to change my video settings on my phone. I need to be able to change the quality to low to be able to send as mms, however the option is no longer there? I have went through settings and nothing gives me the option to record a video and send it through text. error says that the video can not be attached because it is too large. can someone please assist me. The update was 4.1.2 version.

I have the Droid 4, and the 4.1.2 OS; when I open the camera and switch to video, then tap the gear for settings, I can choose HD+ (1080), all the way down to 320x240 resolution (5 different choices for resolution)
I can then go to that video in my gallery, and I have the share option there... how long is the video you are trying to send? What is the total size of the file? Perhaps the receiving party's phone cannot receive the video file?

I know that this would concern me just the same and we want to make sure that your device is connected and receiving these notifications when available. How long have you been having this issue? Are you receiving a specific error message when sending a message? Are you aware if this happens in one location specifically or everywhere you go? Does the issue with messaging occur with all numbers? Share some details, so that we may assist.

I can't send photos through text on iPhone 4s

It used to be able to send photos through text and now I keep getting the exclaimation point that it did not send. Both my Wifi and Data are working, I tried it through both. Any one else having this problem?

I'm having the same exact problem. I'm using the original iPhone 4 and it refuses to send or recieve picture messages ever since I've upgraded the OS earlier today. The network is fine and theres no problem with the hardware, it just cancels sending the message right after I hit the send button. People who have tried sending me pictures report saying that the massage appears to send just fine on both iPhones and other phone brands, yet it never goes through. It appears there's a bug in the new operating system, and I hope it gets fixed soon. I'm surprised a bug this big went unnoticed.

Also MMS is supported on a carrier by carrier basis. While mostly every carrier does support ths feature make sure that your carrier allows this functionality.

Can't send videos through text message

Hi, I have an iphone 5S. I'm using ios7. While texting, I can't seem to send videos through. It shows it went through on my end but does not show up on the other end. I'm texting from iphone to iphone.

Correct... The limit is actual 1.2 megs and any larger files I would say do the email option or dropbox...
I use dropbox and I can share any size files without issues but make sure you set it to sync the images and videos on wifi only to avoid exceeding data.

Cannot send pictures through text.

My phone carrier is Verizon, and for some reason anytime I send photos to my friends as a text message, it never sends. I know it's not my friend's fault because they also have an iphone and they can send photos through text messages. I have the "MMS messaging" option on and "Send as SMS" option on and still wont send. Is it just my phone or is it because of Verizon?

It's almost certainly because of Verizon. Your plan may well charge more to allow MMS. Check with them and make sure you plan allows MMS.

I'm not exactly sure what the issue is, but you are either syncing texts through iCloud because you may be sharing an account (you can just slide the button off under settings>icloud) or you have more than one thing checked under settings>message when you tap on start conversation as...
Make sure you only have one thing selected, your apple id or your phone number. Try to avoid having that iCloud account checked there.
