[?] SendXMLtoClient in a JSP App

Please,
I'm looking for a method to use the SendXMLtoClient with a
WebApplication with JSP pages.
I would like the user could put a value to the workflow instance throw a
dialog box.
The SendXML toClient works very well in the Java Application "Worlist"
but not with the JSP Worlist.
How can I do ?
If you have answer you can mail me directly at :

Thanks a lot for your investigation.

For standard query and message now you could have a look at :
http://members.tripod.com/polejaev/wlpi/
For dynamic TextArea, drop-down list (select/options)
in custom JSP page(s ?) for the task
it requires a little more.
Standard XML for all tasks pointing to task specific
XML docs with JSP templates with Next/Prev buttons,
and DOM/XPath based response parser, as I think for now.

  • How can I remove a file on server w/ my JSP app running on Tomcat 7 ?

    First of all, I'm posting here because I found it the closest to java web development in the forums listing.
    How can I remove a file on the server side with my JSP app running on Tomcat 7 ? I did it in a JSE app by changing permissions, but how can I do it for a simple JSP app ?
    My code is
    public static void excluirArquivos(String nomeArquivoExcluido) {
              File arquivoExcluido = new File (nomeArquivoExcluido);
              arquivoExcluido.setWritable(true, true);
              SecurityManager sm = new SecurityManager();
              try {
                   sm.checkDelete(arquivoExcluido.getAbsolutePath());
                   System.gc();
                   if (arquivoExcluido.delete()) System.out.println("File '" + nomeArquivoExcluido + "' successfully removed.");
                   else System.out.println("File '" + nomeArquivoExcluido + "' wasn't removed somehow.");
              } catch (SecurityException se) {
                   System.out.println("File '" + nomeArquivoExcluido + "' can't be excluded. There is no permissions.");
         }And it always falls on the catch statement.

    2. make sure the file is in fact not locked (for example, opened by another process)
    3. use File.delete()
    There is no guarantee that you can delete a file, you can only make an attempt. There can be any number of reasons, most if not all of them not related to code, that the deletion of a file does not work.

  • Need help Setting Up Existing JSP app

    I just downloaded release 2 to get a look and see if it's time to make the switch (currently using an old version of JBuilder).
    I have an application built with JSP's with an existing directory structure. What I'd like to do is import the structure into a project so that the files are available and the includes are picked up. Currently when I'm looking at one of the JSP's (main.jsp) which has a reference to an include I'm getting an error that it can't find the include file. The include looks like:
    <%@ include file="/app/include/navbar_images.jsp" %>
    I've tried to set the project src path to D:\java\jsp (which is where the app directory from the above include lives). This doesn't seem to solve the problem.
    The file I'm working with lives in D:\java\jsp\app\main by the way.
    Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Make sure to set your "html source directory" to D:\java\jsp\. By doing so, you can reference all your
    files by a uri relative to your "html source directory".

    Amit,
    Have you extended your Admin console with wl-extensions?
    Looks like your applicaiton is failing due to the dependency on a tag library.
    The below error indicates that the classloader is unable to find the TableColumnTag tablibrary class in the classpath.
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/bea/console/taglib/html/TableColumnTag
    Kindly check and register the dependent library to the weblogic container to resolve the issue.
    Thanks,
    Vijaya

  • Debugging MI 7.1 JSP App on NWDS 7.1 SP7

    Hi Experts,
    Can anybody explain me how to debug a JSP Application created on MI 7.1, NWDS version being 7.1 Support Pack 7? It will be great if anybody can point me the link to any resource available related to debugging JSP App on MI 7.1.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi Gopal,
    NOTE: I assume you have maintained following settings.
    1. Go to Window > Preferences > Select MDK
    2. Maintain SAP NWM Client Home Folder , Client Logon User , Password.
    3. Apply and Ok.
    Now you can do following.
    1. Open Mobile Infrastructure Perspective.
    2. Select your JSP application Project.
    3. Click on Export Project into a MI archive (.war/,jar) button
    4. Select your projec
    5. Check the Deployment folder path. it must point to the inbox folder located inside the SAP NWM Client Home Folder you mentioned in the settings above.
    6. Check the check box *** JSP as compiled classes
    7. Check the check box for Run the Mobile Application
    8. Click on Finish
    This will launch your application on Mobile Client 7.1
    But it will also create a Run and Debug configuraiton in NWDS.
    Now stop the client  using the terminate button on the console or use shutdown.bat and stopmonitor.bat files from the  SAP NWM Client Home Folder.
    Now do the following.
    1. Put the break points in your application.
    2. Follow Menu path Run > Open Debug Dialog...
    3. Under MI Application your Project will be available.
    4. Select your project
    5. click on debug
    This will launch your application in debug mode on Mobile Client 7.1
    Hope this answers your question.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Remove Default EJB/JSP Apps.

    Hi,
    I am wondering rather there are steps to remove the Default EJB/JSP Apps deployed in default installation.
    I only need to run servelt and web caches.
    Thanks,
    Stephen

    Weblogic 5.1 uses an architecture that is very unique. Consider it the
    exception, not the rule. You can NOT support a single deployment binary
    with WL 5.1 and other servers.
    The Weblogic 6.0 architecture is much closer to the others, and
    significantly better than the reference implementation's architecture. In
    6.0 you should be able to make a single app (EAR) that deploys to other
    servers as well.

    Hi,
    I have written an application that has EJBs, and JSPs that invoke the
    EJBs. It works on WebLogic 5.1.
    I want to package this application up in such a way that it can be
    deployed on any kind of J2EE application server.
    Using JBoss, I discovered that the JSPs by default do not have access to
    the interfaces supplied in the EJBs. i.e. I have to make copies of the
    EJB's home and remote interfaces, and put them where the JSP files can
    find them.
    This messing about was not neccessary with WebLogic. WebLogic knew to look
    in the EJB JAR files.
    So my question : For compatibility, should I create multiple copies of my
    EJB's interfaces, or is WebLogic's developer-friendly behaviour the
    correct one?
    Thanks, Martin.

  • Deploying BC4J JSP app to 9iAS (via EJB?)

    Hello. Please help a newbie (new to Java, JDev, JSP, and 9iAS R2).
    I've just built my first BC4J JSP app in JDev, and I've even setup a remote DCM connection to my 9iAS R2 server.
    1. JDev release notes say that BC4J deployment from JDev to 9iAS R2 is not supported. Confusing. What is the best way to deploy this app?
    2. I've created an EJB .ear file in JDev 9.0.3 and deployed it using the EM from OC4J_home. It seemed to deploy okay, but I don't know how to find it via an http path (I know, sounds dumb). Do I need to include a port number? Do I still point to my JSP page, or do I point to a servlet? What would a sample path look like?
    3. Can you recommend a good book, something like "Oracle 9iAS and JSP Apps for Dummies?"
    Thanks in advance.
    -Tony.

    Hello - I've just asked one of the BC4J team to take a look at your questions, so please keep a lookout for a response.
    I am not super familiar with BC4J, but since it's deployed as a J2EE application it should work in the following way:
    When you deploy an EAR file which contains a Web application module, you have to tell the server what URL pattern it should use to know when to send the request to the Web application. The deployment screens in OEM prompt you to enter these URLs when the deployment is done.
    Once the deployment is complete (and assuming that you've not modified the HTTP server port) you should then be able to access the application using
    http://<server-host>:7777/<url>
    where <url> is the pattern you entered for the Web application during the deployment process.
    cheers

    Hi Benjamin.
    Can u explain more detail about the deployment..
    I also use JDev and want to do like you do (that is deploy to 9iAS using JDev.
    I tried to create new connection via Remote DCM..
    but it gave me error.
    I also read & tried the article that u suggested..
    but still failed..
    So, my questions are:
    1)In step one, where in EM should i install Oc4jDcmServlet.ear? in OC4J_Portal(the same place i deploy jpdk)?
    "Install the DCM Servlet, Oc4jDcmServlet.ear, to a running Oracle Enterprise Manager instance. This servlet is required to run in the same OC4J instance (same JVM) as the Enterprise Manager servlet. The DCM Servlet is located in:

    2)I download JDev into my drive C.
    and i did found /dcm/lib/Oc4jDcmServlet.ear
    I not sure what to type..and where should i run the command..
    In the article,it run from c:\winnt\system32\cmd.exe.

  • URGENT! Need help to portalize a Strut JSP App for Portal!

    Hi,
    I have create a little application using Strut ADF. This application only have one page. Can someone tell me how to portalize this in order to deployed it in Portal. I have create my DataSource in OEM and the only thing left is to portalize this jsp.
    I have read the "How to create a Struts Portlet" but I don't understand it.
    Please help me deployed this app to Portal. Is there any tutorial about this?
    Thank you!

    try this article
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/articles/pdkstruts/portletize-your-app.html
    You will also need to download the relevant tag library for the pdk-struts extensions.
    You can also download the java portlet wizard as an add-in for jdeveloper. This makes the creation of the files (for example provider.xml) required by portal easier.

  • CLASSPATH problem, deploying JSP app without right to modify classpath...

    I want to deploy a JSP web app to apache server with JRun for running JSP, but I don't have the permission to copy the required library files to the classpath, nor modify the classpath to append my application's path. Is there any way to workaround? Thank you

    Well, thanks for the tip. The answer is yes and no. Yes, the jar is in my classpath, but no the lib directory containing the jar is not included in the dist directory when I clean and build the project. This only happens when I include either the JavaHelp jars or just the jh.jar (which should be all I need) in the classpath. When I read the manifest file, it's clearly looking for /lib/jh.jar, but the directory does not get created on build (whereas, the lib directory is there if the JH jars are not included).
    Makes no sense to me. Any idea as to what's happening here? The help system works great in the IDE.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Best practice for JSP app- multiple windows

    Hi all,
    I am looking for some opinions on whether I should construct my app so it uses multiple windows. eg. If someone opens a master record and clicks a link, I can display details in a seperate window. Obviously this has the advantage of being more user-friendly ala a thick client as the user can view multiple windows at once, etc. I've seen many web apps that do this but many that have opted not to also.
    I am interested in the common 'pitfalls' associated with multiple-window web apps and why I should/should not use them. Obviously, opinions vary but I'd like to get some feedback on this. Also, any link(s) discussing this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Err...
    JSP is generally used to embed sippets of Java code within otherwise existing HTML pages. It is possible to dynamically generate the resulting Javascript code that will create additional windows, or the Applet code that will likewise spawn new windows in response to user activities.
    For the most part, I do something along the lines of the former suggestion, that is, I write code like:
    out.write( "<A HREF=\"show_detail.jsp?id=" + id + "\" TARGET=\"detail_window\">" + id + "</A>\n" );...and the result is that if the user clicks on a link, a new web page is loaded into some other window.
    Is this a valid way to go? Certainly. Are there any drawbacks? Yes. Many users actually don't want multiple windows, that is, they click on the link, it opens a window - fine. They click on a similar link, it should load the relevant data into that companion window, not load yet another window. The primary reason being that closing all those windows is a bit of a pain in the behind.
    Beyond that, I can't really offer any suggestions that are not application specific. If I think of any, I'll come back to the thread.

  • Can a BC4J-JSP App live within a Portlet

    I've read the posts AND the docs AND still do not have a clear idea if a BC4J-JSP application can live within Portal. I DO NOT WANT to click on a link from Portal and open a * NEW * window, I want the BC4J App to be contained within the Portal.
    Can anyone from Oracle Portal answer this **** AND *** can you show a working example of a BC4J application. HelloWorld.jsp is not a multi-page application.
    Thanks,
    Bill G...

    Hi Bill,
    1. Yes, you can access the userid from your partner app.
    2. Do you want to make your code appear on a portal page, and re-render it within the portlet container, rather than have your application replace the portal page? If this is what your question is, then:
    a) You may run your app in an iframe as Subramanyam has recommended. The first issue with this: ns 4.x doesn't support it. The second one, the request is sent to your app from the browser iframe, it doesn't go through the parallel page engine, thus your application is not being cached along with the page. Also, end users can't access a particular page of your application, they can only bookmark the portal page, which will always display the initial page of your application.
    b) You can run your app as it is, taking advantage of the renderers of PDK, capable to render JSPs. In this case, you need to modify your code, at least the links and forms, so that the portal page URL is used as the target url (extra parameters appended to it, or implemented in hidden fields).
    You find a sample portlet (Flights of Fancy External Application) implemented as a partner application in the PDK.
    This is a PDK article worth to check out: Using PDK-Java to Integrate a Partner Application with Oracle9iAS Portal (V2)
    And finally, you find the Administration Guide, the Appliation Developre's Guide, and the API Reference in the Oracle9iAS Documentation Library under Oracle9iAS Single Sign-On on the Management and Security tab.

    Here's what I need... The app needs to be able to read a directory structure on the web server and populated a drop down box on a JSP with the directory names. Then when one of the directories that are in the drop down are selected, the files within that directory are listed as HTML links to the actual files.
    How do I get started?? Any sample code from people who have done this??
    Thanks!
    Teresa

    Basically what you want to do is build a vector of objects that represent directories, and each "directory" object contains a vector of files as an attribute. This is done on the server side in a Servlet.
    Then store all these objects in your session. Dynamically build your dropdown box to have an element for each directory. Use the JavaScript onSelect method to invoke another JSP that takes the number of the element selected, and displays all html links for the number that was passed in from the previous servlet.
    For some about $150 I would write the whole thing for you, but here would be the server side code that builds a recursive directory list.
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class RecursiveDirectoryList {
         Vector Directories = new Vector();
         Vector Files = new Vector();
    public RecursiveDirectoryList() {
         super();
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    String directoryName; // Directory name entered by the user.
    File directory; // File object referring to the
    //directory.
    //TextIO.put("Enter a directory name: ");
    directoryName = "C:\\docs";
    directory = new File(directoryName);
    if (directory.isDirectory() == false) {
    // Program needs a directory name. Print an error message.
    if (directory.exists() == false)
    System.out.println("There is no such directory!");
    else
    System.out.println("That file is not a directory.");
    else {
    // List the contents of directory, with no indentation
    // at the top level.
    listContents( directory, "" );
    } // end main()
    static void listContents(File dir, String indent) {
    // A recursive subroutine that lists the contents of
    // the directory dir, including the contents of its
    // subdirectories to any level of nesting. It is assumed
    // that dir is in fact a directory. The indent parameter
    // is a string of blanks that is prepended to each item in
    // the listing. It grows in length with each increase in
    // the level of directory nesting.
    String[] files; // List of names of files in the directory.
    System.out.println("Directory: " + dir.getAbsolutePath());
    indent += " "; // Increase the indentation for listing the contents.
    files = dir.list();
    for (int i = 0; i < files.length; i++) {
    // If the file is a directory, list its contents
    // recursively. Otherwise, just print its name.
    File f = new File(dir, files);
    if (f.isDirectory())
    listContents(f, indent);
    else
    System.out.println("File: " + dir.getAbsolutePath() + "\\" + files[i]);
    } // end listContents()
