Sequence File Hierarchy Sequence Name Resize

Hello,
Is there a way to resize the sequence name in the Sequence File Hierarchy Call Graph? I have a need to make the sequence names long and it does not fit in the file hierarchy.
Thanks.

There is not a way.  The objects that hold the sequence names are a default size.  The best way to be able to view the whole name is just to scroll over top of the object.

  • Know steps names of called sequence file using sequence call step type in TestStand

    Hi,
I have a problem in accessing step names in called sequence file using "Sequence call"step type in TestStand 4.0.
I would list out all step names of called sequence file. Is it possible to do through C#.NET? If, yes, Please explain to me in detail with possible example.
    Thank you,
    regards
    RKK

    Hey RKK,
I want to first set your expectations for the forums.  This is not a place for people to review and rewrite your code for you; this is a place for specific and general questions.  I am not saying your question in this thread is inappropriate, because it is a good questions.  We should just not post code and ask others to fix it here.  If you are looking for this type of service we have alliance members that can help you write your TestStand Operator Interface (www.ni.com/alliance).
As for you question about getting the sequence names for a sequence file that is not the currently running sequence file, you will need to open a reference to that sequence files and then use the API calls that I mentioned in my previous posts.  You can use the Enigine.GetSequenceFileEx function to open a reference to sequence file, and you will need to close the reference with the Engine.ReleaseSequenceFile function when you are done using it.  After you have a reference to this external Sequence File, you can use the example dll and sequence I previously sent you.  I also attach a new sequence file (SeqFile2.seq) plus an updated GetNames.seq to illustrate how to use the above mentioned functions.  I hope this helps.  Have a great day!

  • How do I generate documentation for a sequence file hierarchy?

I am trying to generate documentation for all of the sequence files used in my test suite. Some of the tests are kinda complex with nesting to eight to ten levels with hundreds of sequence files. The sequence file documentation tool will only let you document the active sequence file and there doesn't appear to be any way to recursively search for the sequence files in LV or TS. Does anyone have a way to do this?

    Hi lars,
For each sequencefile you will need to create a reference to it by use of the Engine.GetSequenceFile() method.
Next create a new context by using the SequenceFile.CreateNewContext(), use the SequenceFileObj reference returned by the GetSequenceFile() method.
Once you have the SeqenceContext reference, use this as the parameter to the second step which calls a dll in docgen.seq, (sorry can not remember what is called at the moment). The at the moment this parameter is ThisContext reference. Probably best to make a copy of this sequencefile (docgen.seq) and make the modification to the copy.
On the second step, open up the specify module dialog and change the ThisContext to your new variable holding your new SequenceContext. Close the sepecify dialog.
Some where in your cleanups you will need to set the New Sequence Context to Nothing and call the ReleaseSequenceFile() method passing it the sequencefile reference. Releasing the reference to the sequence file maybe a bit tricky because if the engine is still using the reference, then it will not be released.
I have tried this and it did generate a document of a sequencefile not previously loaded. My only problem was releasing the sequencefile.
I am not suggesting that this is a usable solution, because you wouldn't want the dialog window opening up for each sequence file. This maybe a starting point for you.

  • Getting sequence filename and sequence name in process model error handler

We are using the sequential process model and would like to log sequence step error information to a file.  We have an Error Handler callback in SequentialModel.seq and that is where we will write to the error file.  In the Error Handler callback, I can get the error container info for the step where the error occurs and the name of the that step thru the Error Handler Step parameter.  I would also like to record the sequence file and the sequence where the error occurred, but I have not been able to find those in the sequence context.  I know they are available because the TestStand RunTime Error dialog box displays them.  How can I access the name of the sequence file and the name of the sequence where the error occurred?
    Thanks,
    Hans

    Hey hans,
Use the API.  Since you already have the Step object reference coming in as a parameter you can just use a few ActiveX steps to get the Sequence File and Sequence from which the error was thrown.
    Step.Sequence
Sequence.Name (gets the name of the sequence)
    Sequence.SequenceFile
SequenceFile.Path (gets the path of the sequence file)
So basically just 4 activex steps.  I hope this helps.

  • How to get the loaded client sequence file path/name?

I added a step in Process model, and wanted to get currently loaded client sequence file name/path. I used the variable of "SequenceFile.Path" but then I realized what I would get is the process model file path, not loaded client sequence file path/name. How can I get loaded client sequence file path/name?
    Thanks!
    Jacky

I dont understand what you are trying to achieve.  Can you provide more information.
If you are trying to dynamically load and run a client sequence file at run time you need to make a couple of calls to the TS API from inside the process model, Engine.GetSequenceFileEx to get a reference to your sequence identified by its pathname, and then Execution.ClientFile to tell the process model which sequence you want to run.

  • Where do I find the sequence file name inside the Expression Browser?

    HI,
I would like post the user with a simple question of whether this is the sequence file he meant to load. I want to use an expression rather then typing the question. The problem is that I don't seem to find the proper expression for that. I looked inside "RunState.SequenceFile" and I find everything related to my sequence file except to its name.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks
    Rafi

    Hi Rafi2003,
The SequenceFile doesn't have a Name property. It has a Path property instead.

  • How to get Sequence File Name ?

    Hello everybody !!
I'm using TestStand 3.1 and i would like to get sequence file name. I've tried to use NameOf() function, but without success.
Of course, I've searched previous posts about the same question, but nothing works.
Is there someone able to tell me how to get sequence file name ?
    Thanks a lot.
    MrOrange

    MrOrange,
first of all, the solution i will present only works for saved sequence files.
you got all information you need within TestStand itself, just browse for RunState.SequenceFile.Path. here you can find the filename. but the path of the file is also included in the string, so this is a part you have to get rid off.
you can use statements to extract the filename from the path. just search the string for the last occurence of "\\" (searchinreverse!) and then you can retrieve the right() part of the path. beware that right() needs the number of characters you want to extract, not the startindex!!
    hope this helps,

  • Diadem Sequence File Name?

Is there a command/variable in Diadem VBS Script that I can use to get the name of the sequence file I am running? This is needed so I can display the VBS script version/script name on the DiaDem Graph so I know what sequence was used to crunch the numbers.
    Thanks, Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
The name and path of the script file currently running is stored in the variable AutoActFile.
Maybe you need the program revision of DIAdem too: ProgramRevision.

  • Get handle of sequence file using file name

in example it is described how to access the comment of a sequence file.
During report generation I only have the file name of the sequence file not some sequence file struct which is needed.
How do I get that using the sequence file name?

    Hi mbrost,
    Try this TS2.01f1 example.
I have put in an override TestResult Callback sequence and added some code to obtain the comment of the Sequence File. I have also added a Comment to the Sequence File.
Using RunState.SequenceFile as the ActiveX Reference I get a reference to PropertyObjectFile.Data which return a reference. Using this reference I then call the PropertyObject.Comment() API to obtain the comment string.
Then I display this Comment string in a MessageBox.
    Hope this helps

  • Why does our Final Cut Pro Batch Exports incorrectly name sequence files?

Why does our Final Cut Pro 7.0.1 Batch Exports incorrectly name sequence files?
For example I can Batch Export 10 sequences one of which is called:
    "899-006TL013 It's Not Your Fault 800-509-2875"
Then the output for some of the files are along the lines of:
    "899-006TL013 It's No#61386E.mov"
I have seen this happen with 1-6 files or not at all... is it just dumb luck?
What is going on here and is there any way to avoid or remedy this issue?
We first thought having the render destination window open caused it but that was not the source.
    Any ideas?

I've run into the same problem with FCP 7.0.2 when exporting from the sequence using File --> Export --> QuickTime Movie. I exported a file today called "BSP - 01 - How You Can Be Sure You Are A Christian" and it came out as this "BSP - 01 - How You Can#1630". This is getting to be annoying. I also need to name these files the length they are. I'm hoping someone may see this and have a suggestion (besides shortening the file name). It seems like I've also seen this on shorter file names, but at the moment I can't prove it.

  • Searching for Project file through Sequence name

I have forgotten the title of the project, but know the names of the sequences within the project.  How can I search by the sequence name to locate the project?  I have Windows 7 and the project is either in Premiere Pro 5.5 or 6.0.  Thank you very much!

If you look in a .proprj file from CS6 and before you will see it is just XML. Simply formatted text. On a PC, use Wordpad to open a copy of a project and you will see what I mean. Not Notepad because it doesn't understand XML, but Wordpad works OK. Just search a file you know has a sequence you know the name of.
So, if you know the name of the sequence, yes, it is in plain text that can be searched. The program I suggested can find it. The reason I use that program is that it allows me to change a menu or link on every web page on my site all at once.

  • How do I find the path to a TestStand sequence file using LabVIEW

My LabVIEW application launches a bunch of teststand sequences, provided it has the complete path to each of them. I want to make it more flexible by providing it just the name of the TestStand sequence so that it will go and find the path to the sequence by searching a directory structure. TestStand has a neat FindFile() function that can do this, but I need to do this from within LabVIEW. Is there a way to do it?

There are a few ways to do this depending on how you are getting the sequence files.  If you are calling the GetSequenceFileEx method, you can just pass the GetSeqFile_FindFile (0x20) flag in the SequenceFileFlags property.  If you are using the ApplicationMgr.OpenSequenceFile method, this is automatically done for you.
If you want to use the FindFile function in general, you can use the Engine.FindFile method.

  • How can I include multiple limits in the sequence file documentation for custom step type?

    Hi,
I have a custom Step Type that contains Measurements property under Results. Its type is Array of NI_LimitMeasurement.
I would like to see the values in the sequence file documentation like NI_MultipleNumericLimitTest type.
Is there any trick to do that?
    Thanks,
    Andras

    Hi Andras,
I have made  a slight change to the sequencefile 'docgen_txt.seq'.
In the Sequence 'Step Doc' is a section which handles MultipleNumericLimit step type. There is a precondition check on the step 'Add Multiple Numeric Limits' if the step is of type 'NI_MultipleNumericLimit'. As your step type is based on the MultipleNumeric Limit type, I have just removed this precondition and just relied on the existence of Parameters.Step.Result.Measurement. Equally you could add a new section in this sequence to handle your Custom Step Type which is only called when the precodition match your type name.
Now when you run the DocGen tool it handles your custom step type.
Find attached my modified sequencefile 'docgen_txt.seq'.
Just copy the contents of '..\National Instruments\TestStand 3.5\Components\NI\Tools\DocGen' to the User folder. Then place the attached file in the User\Tools\DocGen overwritting the version that is in that folder.
Then launch TestStand and try it out on your sequence file.
If you are using the html version, then you will have to make the same change into Step Doc sequence of the docgen_html sequence file.
    Hope this helps

  • How to apply Property Loader to all sequences in the Sequence File?

    HI,
I'm following the help instructions for the Property Loader and it states....
Use Current Sequence File—Selects the file where the step is located.
Sequence—Specifies the name of the sequence into which to import variables and properties. The specified sequence must exist in the specified sequence file. Select the <ALL SEQUENCES> tag from the drop-down list to instruct TestStand to import variables and properties for all of the sequences in the specified sequence file. You must specify a valid sequence name for the step to work properly.
In my specific sequence file I added the Callbacks:  SequenceFileLoad, SequenceFileUnload, PreUUT. In addition to that, my MainSequence is calling 2 subsequences.
I put the propertyLoader step (setting few values of the SequenceFileGlobals) in the setup section of the SequenceFileLoad, checked the 'Use Current Sequence File' and selected ALL SEQUENCES tag in the 'Sequence' option.  I verified that it does what I wanted.  Then, is it entered the PreUUT subsequnce, the values returned to the "original" values.
    Is that a bug?
If not, how do I use the PropertyLoader in a sequenceFile that include several subsequences as well as Callback sequences.
    Thanks
    Rafi

    Ooops, sorry about that...
    I forgot to mention....it is TS 3.5.
As per your questions-- yes they all in the same sequence file.
         mySeqFile.seq
               SequenceFileLoad
               SdequnceFileUnload
               PreUUT
               Seq1
               Seq2
AS I said....I put the property loader in the setup of the SequenceFileLoad,  I see that it works properly in that subsequence.  Then, after the SuequenceFileLoad is finished, I do Ctl+F5 for Test UUT's.  I put a breakpoint in the first step of the preUUT subsequence and check the context.  I notice that the variables in the FileGlobals to whom the property loader writes, have been changed back to the original values.
I'll try to create a simple program to duplicate it but it may take me time as this test station is very busy.
    Thanks
    Rafi

  • Processing files in Sequence using FTP Adapter

    Hi Experts,
I have searched several forums but i am not clear on  how to process the files using FTP Adapter based on Timestamp.
To process the files in sequence i.e, FIFO using FTP Adapter
i have the files with file name customer and timestamp :  customer<yyyyMMddHHmmss>
there are around 50 files in the FTP server llike this.
I need to process these files acording to the timestamp and place the files in same processing sequence in the receiver end using the file adapter.
If i specify the parametes in sender FTP Adapter as
    Qos= EOIO
    Queue name = ACCOUNT
Whether these parameters would do the processing in sequence according to the Timestamp?
Suppose if the queue ID for Inbound(SMQ2) is XBTI0_ACCOUNT then whether it will be the same for Outbound(SMQ1)?
Kindly suggest me how to process the files in sequence according to the Timestamp using FTP Adapter
    Please reply..
    Thanks
    Sai

    Hi Shabarish,
But this would require one more additional channel to process
So i think it will take more time to process.
Let me clarify my question once again.
I need to Pick the files from FTP server based on their TimeStamp and in sequence.
the file names are like this Customer<YYYYMMDDHHmmSS>.
suppose i have 3 files as
    Customer20050413044534
    Customer20050414053430
    Customer20050315034533
So i need to pick these files in this order and place the files in the same order to the receiver end(File Adapter)
    Customer20050315034533
    Customer20050413044534
    Customer20050414053430.
As i am using FTP sender adapter i cannot use processing sequence "By Date".
    please suggest me on this.
    Thanks
    Sai.
