Sequence in java

Hi i am searching for smart way to create sequence for name not using varibale:
int seq=1
for () {
book = new book("Java book");
system.out.println("book_"+seq+ book .getName());
seq++;
is there another way to print the books with sequence
book1
book2
not using seq varibles?
Thanks in advance

I think jbish was right.
You looking for something like this?
import java.util.Map;
import java.util.HashMap;
import java.io.BufferedReader;
import java.io.InputStreamReader;
class Book {
  private String title;
  private String author;
  public Book(String title, String author) {
    this.title = title;
    this.author = author;
  public String getTitle() {
    return title;
  public String getAuthor() {
    return author;
class MapDemo {
  public static void main(String[] argv) throws Throwable {
    BufferedReader kbd = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
    Map<String, Book> books = new HashMap<String, Book>();
    books.put("book1", new Book("First Test Book", "Test Author"));
    books.put("book2", new Book("Second Test Book", "Second Test Author"));
    books.put("book3", new Book("Third Test Book", "Third Test Author"));
    books.put("book4", new Book("Fourth Test Book", "Fourth Test Author"));
    for( int i = 0; i < 4; i++ )
      System.out.printf("Author of %s: %s\n", String.format("book%d", (i+1)),
        books.get(String.format("book%d", (i+1))).getAuthor());

  • Conversion of Java Generics to JavaFX sequence in Java Program

    I have created a TwitterFetcher.java which collects the latest 20 tweets and generates a List<TwitterUpdate>
    I know that I have to convert this Java List into a JavaFX Sequence using Sequences.
    Have tried quite a few variations with Sequences.make(...) but to no avail.
    following is the code:
    import com.sun.javafx.runtime.sequence.Sequence;
    import com.sun.javafx.runtime.sequence.Sequences;
    import java.util.Iterator;
    import org.w3c.dom.TypeInfo;...
    List<TwitterUpdate> ltu = new ArrayList<TwitterUpdate>();
    TwitterUpdate tu = new TwitterUpdate();
    Sequence<? extends TwitterUpdate> stu;
    public Sequence<TwitterUpdate> getUpdates()
    for (Status status : api.getFriendsTimeline())
    tu.setName(status.getUser().getName());
    tu.setScreenName(status.getUser().getScreenName());
    tu.setImgURL(status.getUser().getProfileImageUrl());
    tu.setTweet(status.getText());
    tu.setDate(status.getCreatedAt().toDate().toString());
    ltu.add(tu);
    //convert the List to a Sequence
    //return the sequenceAm I missing a step or two or doing something completed wrong.??
    I really have to get this done..

    We are actually following MVC architecture, where in our back end is totally in Java and the rendering is handled in JavaFX..
    Hence interop between the two was extremely important..
    and the problem was that...
    in our JavaFX project...we have packages with only java files and other packages with only JavaFX package..
    So whilst importing packages in a JavaFX classes..we can recognize our own java and javafx files...
    But whilst in Java classes..recognition of Javafx packages is not possible....
    Hence sharing Data structures between the two was difficult...
    So we ended up making POJOs..and ported that in JavaFX classes as it was able to recognize Java objects...
    We are now using concept of Array of objects and passing it to JavaFX classes as return type..

  • Music Sequencer With Java

    Right. I think this is quite incredibly difficult to be accomplished without some fundamental knowledge in java and programming in general but i dont aim to make the new logic studio 8 written in Java, that would be stupid anyway :P . So what i need to do , or what im planning, is a simple sequencer where you can put wav files, edit them and maybe be able to connect my guitar through my soundcard and try to record some stuff. Im thinking this as a project for my dissertation but honestly i need to make some initial planning of requirements and see what im able to accomplish and what im not in order to make up my mind if i can really pull this off or if i should change my plans to something easier. So where do i find some tutorials or maybe if someone could explain me the steps that has to be taken in order to at least make the skeleton of classes etc.. Also im wondering on the routing process and how the channels will communicate inside the sequencer.. maybe i could possibly use jack http://jackaudio.org/intro . I know this is just a huge flow of information and probably some who isnt familiar with music sequencers it might be difficult to understand of what im actually searching so any help from any java devs/audio engineers would be really ideal.
    Thanks

  • Can i create a sequence using java?

    Hi,
    I have a problem here.
    I have to update records to my oracle9i database.
    One of the fields in my tables has to be auto number, meaning whenever i add records to this table, this fields will automatically be updated jus like a counter.
    I am told that i could do this by writing a sequence. can any1 help me out?
    Thanks a million!

    To create a sequence in Oracle you can use this (with SCHEMA being replaced by whatever Schema that you are adding the Sequence to)...
    CREATE SEQUENCE SCHEMA.SEQUENCEGENERATOR
    START WITH 1 INCREMENT BY 1 MINVALUE 1 CACHE 20 NOCYCLE NOORDER ;
    From a stored procedure or java code you could
    then use the following to get the next available number
    SELECT SEQUENCEGENERATOR.nextval INTO v_record_id from dual;
    This may or may not work for your needs. Everytime the Select statement is executed a number will be "used". As an alternative you could use something like .... Select Max(number) from Table (this could be table that contains your "auto number" or a seperate support table.

  • Re: Executing Planning Sequence using java script.

    Hi All,
    Can anyone tell me how to execute a planning sequence using a java script.
    Regards.
    Shafi.

    Hi Deepti,
    i have written a java script which will display the error message from IP in a Pop up window.
    For this to work the java script function needs to be called once the planning sequence is done with execution.
    I didn't find ways to do it based on the WAD commands.
    hence i thought i can run the planning sequence in the same java script that i have written.
    Can you help me based on the inpus ihave given ?

  • Cannot reach com.sun.javafx.runtime.sequence package from Java

    Hello!
    I'm trying to create JavaFX sequence from Java code, because creating sequences with large amount of data (more than 10000 elements) seems to be quite inefficient in JavaFX (leastwise takes almost a minute(!) when using insert ... into ...).
    The problem is that I get the following error message when trying to use SequenceBuilder from Java:
    {color:#ff0000}+Compiling 1 source file to C:\Users\&Aacute;kos\Documents\NetBeansProjects2\PolylineProba\build\classes+
    C:\Users\&Aacute;kos\Documents\NetBeansProjects2\PolylineProba\src\polylineproba\ArrayBuilder.java:11: package com.sun.javafx.runtime.sequence does not exist
    import com.sun.javafx.runtime.sequence.*;
    +1 error+{color}
    The sample code is very simple:
    {color:#333399}+package test;+
    import com.sun.javafx.runtime.sequence.*;
    +public class ArrayBuilder {+
    +}+{color}
    This is strange as the code completion sees all classes inside the mentioned package, but the compiler doesn't.
    Does anyone have an idea, why? (I'm using Netbeans 6.1 with JavaFX SDK preview 1.0.)
    Thanks,
    Akos

    Hello!
    Normally you don't need to know the exact location of these files as you can add them to the project by adding a library. To do this in Netbeans: right click on the Libraries in the project tree and choose Add library. Then you should see JavaFXUserLib.
    If not then find and add them manually to the classpath:
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/Decora-D3D.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/Decora-HW.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/Decora-OGL.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/Scenario.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/gluegen-rt.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/javafx-swing.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/javafxc.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/javafxdoc.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/javafxgui.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/javafxrt.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/jmc.jar
    javafx-sdk1.0pre1/lib/jogl.jar
    Good luck

  • Java Embedding bug in SOA Suite 11g BPEL??

    I am beginning to wonder if there is a 'bug' in the SOA Suite 11g, BPEL, Java Embedding activity? Need some help as soon as possible – does the Java Embedding activity work in SOA Suite 11g?
    Have tried the following on Jdev 11.1.1.1 and Jdev 11.1.1.3 – get the same error message (see below for error message).
    Thanks for any help - Casey
    I created a simple composite app by:
    1.     Created a Composite with BPEL Process
    2.     Created a BPEL variable by the name of Variable and a Simple Type of string      ({http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}string)
    3.     Added an Assign activity (Assign_1) and assigned the value of “Test Var” to the variable Variable using a Copy operation.
    4.     Then, after the assign activity, added a Java Embedding activity (Java_Embedding_1) with Java Version set to 1.5 and the following code:
    +try{+*
    String var;*
    var=(String)getVariableData(Variable);*
    System.out.println(var);*
    +}  // end try+
    +catch(Exception ex){+*
    System.out.println(ex.getMessage());*
    +}// end catch+
    Compiled and got the following error message:
    Error(23,34): Failed to compile bpel generated classes.*
    failure to compile the generated BPEL classes for BPEL process "BPELProcess1" of composite "default/Project1!1.0"*
    The class path setting is incorrect.*
    Ensure that the class path is set correctly. If this happens on the server side, verify that the custom classes or jars which this BPEL process is depending on are deployed correctly. Also verify that the run time is using the same release/version.*

  • The '$' character no more allowed in java identifier since JDK 1.4.2 ?

    Since JDK 1.4.2, I'm no more able to compile java
    sources. :-((
    Their compilation worked fine on 1.3 and 1.4.1.
    Note that these java sources are generated automatcally
    via a tool.
    <b>The $ (dollar) character seems to be no more allowed
    in java identifier.</b>
    Here is a part of the Java Language Specification (second edition):
    "An identifier is an unlimited-length sequence of Java letters and Java digits, the first of which must be a Java letter.
    An identifier cannot have the same spelling (Unicode character sequence) as a keyword (3.9), boolean literal (3.10.3), or the null literal (3.10.7).
    A "Java letter" is a character for which the method
    Character.isJavaIdentifierStart returns true.
    A "Java letter-or-digit" is a character for which the method Character.isJavaIdentifierPart returns true.
    The Java letters include uppercase and lowercase ASCII Latin letters A-Z (\u0041-\u005a), and a-z (\u0061-\u007a), and, for historical reasons, the ASCII underscore (_, or \u005f) and dollar sign ($, or \u0024). The $ character should be used only in
    mechanically generated source code or, rarely, to access preexisting names on legacy systems.
    Here is the result of the Character methods on JDK 1.4.2:
    <code>
    Character.isJavaIdentifierPart('$'): true
    Character.isJavaIdentifierStart('$'): true
    </code>
    Here are two very samples java sources which reproduce
    this probleme
    <code>
    package sb;
    public interface Essai {
    public void method1(int i);
    public static class InnerClass {
    public void test() {};
    public void setInnerClass(InnerClass ic);
    package sb;
    public class EssaiImpl implements Essai {
    public void method1(int p1) {
    public void setInnerClass(sb.Essai$InnerClass p1) {
    </code>

    public void setInnerClass(sb.Essai$InnerClass p1) {There is no type named Essai$InnerClass defined anywhere in your program. That is an error in your program that previous compilers failed to detect.

    I am attempting to activate a "push button" in a java application (AWT) which is deployed on a windows 2000 environment (a commerical software package which controlls a piece of equipment). I am attepting to activate a button in this application by establishing a windows level control over the window with the push button and acivete the button with windows commands all writtin in C#.net. I wrote a routine to esstablish a focus on the window with the "push button" and am able to manually depress the space bar to activate the button, however when I try to simulate this by activating the windows "space bar" key stroke command the java button depresses but the background java application does not activate. Is there a special command sequence that JAVA recognizes to initiate an action via "spacebar" press?

    Hi,
    By default jaxb converts xsd:sequence to java.util.List. Is there any way to specify that during compilation it will use java.util.Collection instead of List?
    TIA,
