for picking up file from sftp you need to use either
builtin sftp adapter in for BizTalk 2013 or  open source sftp adapter for earlier versions
I hope this will help you

  • Sending empty files using SFTP Adapter

    I am trying to send empty files using SFTP adapter. The interface has to send the file whether its empty file or containing data using SFTP adapter. I am using BizTalk Server 2013 R2. Is it a bug or the hotfix is already there for this issue.

    The issue here is not your SFTP not able to send 0KB files, but the file receive adapter that is receiving the file. The file adapter deletes 0 KB files and doest not transmit it further.
    If u have a ftp receive for example you should be able to send 0KB files.
    If u have a custom file receive adapter , is it handling 0KB files ?

  • Same file name using JMS adapter on sender side.

    Hi Friends,
    I got a requirement to capture file name using JMS adapter on the sender side.
    Can some one help me in resolving this issue.
    Regards,
    Jeevan.

    Hi ,
    You can use Dynamic Configuration in mapping.
    Create a UDF with input as file name and copy/paste this code
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    //conf.removeAll();
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    //String filename= conf.get(key);
    conf.put(key, fileName);
    key= null;
    return fileName;
    Thanks.

  • Duplicate File issue using FTP adapter - BizTalk 2010

    Hi We encountered an Issue of picking Duplicate files in BizTalk 2010 from the FTP Location. Need your assistance on this.
    Mainframe sends multiple files a 0 KB file to FTP and BizTalk picks during a particular service window using FTP Adapter.
    Receive Location has a pipeline component which decodes the MF file(EBCDICRow format).
    Send Port transmits the file which is decoded in the Receive location. There is no mapping or orchestration involved.
    When 2 files are placed in FTP Location. BizTalk Transmits the files successfully
    No suspended messages in BizTalk but we see below error in event log. we tried reproduce the issue but no luck.

    Hi Sri,
    There could be two reason for such a behavior:
    1) Using Non-Clustered Hosts: It is always recommended to use the clustered host for FTP adapter. Because FTP don't allow
    any locking mechanism on the files so in case of non-clustered with multiple host instances you might receive same file multiple times through different host instances.
    2) If the original document is still being written to the FTP server by the host application, the FTP adapter cannot
    delete the document and will retrieve another copy of the document at the next polling interval that is configured for the receive location. This behavior causes document duplication to occur.
    Workaround could be:
    Configure the host application to write to a temporary folder on the same hard disk as the public FTP folder and to periodically move the contents of the temporary folder
    to the FTP folder. The temporary folder should be on the same hard disk as the public FTP folder to make sure that the move operation is atomic. An atomic operation is an operation that is functionally indivisible. If you write data to the public FTP folder
    by using the BizTalk Server FTP adapter, you can do this by specifying a Temporary Folder property in the FTP Transport Properties dialog box when you configure a send port. If you specify a Temporary Folder property, make sure that this folder is on the same
    physical disk as the public FTP folder.
    Configure the FTP receive location to operate within a service window when the host application is not writing data to the FTP server. You can specify the service window
    when you configure the receive location properties.

  • Issue while archiving the processed file in sender communication channel using SFTP adapter

    Hi All,
    In one of my scenario (File to IDOC), we are using SFTP sender communicationchannel.
    we are facing an issue while archiving the processed file. Some times PI processed the file successfully but unable to archive it and in the next poll PI process & archives the same file successfully which will creates duplicate orders in ECC.

  • How to handle empty file using sftp adapter

    Hi,
    Please explain me how to handle empty files in sftp adapter.
    Thanks,
    Enivass

    Hi Enivaas,
                        I don't have the seeburger sftp adapter at hand at the moment, but asfar as I remember, this does not specifically have an empty-file handling option like the standard ftp adapter.
    So to stop emtyp files from being written, guess would need to handle this at the mapping level. For example, check for target creation criteria in the header node in mapping. If the creation criteria is not met, you can throw an error in mapping.
    You may also incorporate this condition in your Receiver determination. In this case, if the condition is not satisfied, no receiver is determined in PI.

  • How to get the incoming file name using JMS adapter and SOAP adapter

    Hi Everybody,
       In one of my interface i need to get the file name of incoming flat file using JMS adapter at sender side. and then i am using xslt to convert it to IDOC and then posting to  SAP IDOC.
    my incoming filname are in this form price<DateTimestamp>.txt. when i do the tranformation this incoming file name should be part of one element in the IDOC which i am posting.
    EX:
    <IDOC
    <REF>price<DateTimestamp>.txt</REF>
    </IDOC>
    Hope it is clear to everybody. I need your suggestion how i can capture this incoming file name and send it as part of IDOC.
    Thanks
    raj

    If they are passing it in message id or correlation id,
    you can access it using
    <xsl:variable name="dynamic-conf"
            select="map:get($inputparam, 'DynamicConfiguration')" />
        <xsl:variable name="dynamic-key"
            select="key:create('http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/JMS', 'DCJMSMessageID/ DCJMSCorrelationID')" />
        <xsl:variable name="dynamic-value"
            select="dyn:get($dynamic-conf, $dynamic-key)" />

  • How to read the whole text file lines using FTP adapter

    Hi all,
    How to read the whole text file lines when error occured middle of the text file reading.
    after it is not reading the remaining lines . how to read the whole text file using FTP adapter
    pls can you help me

    Yes there is you need to use the uniqueMessageSeparator property. Have a look at the following link for its implementation.

  • Dynamic file name using FTP adapter

    I was trying the dynamic filename scenario taking help from Michal's blog https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2664. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    If I check the 'adapter specific properties' in both sender and receiver file adapter,then in output I am getting the output filename as same as input filename without using the UDF.
    When I used the UDF in mapping,it had absolutely no effect. I am not clear what is the use of the UDF. please let me know where to use the UDF and how to use it.
    Thanks
    Smith

    1. In the mapping program that you are using populate the filename coming from the source into the target in any of the fileds.
    2.Sender adapters can write adapter-specific attributes to the message header; these can then be evaluated at configuration time.You can get dynamic filename in UDF in msg mapping....just in ID in comm channel select adapter specific attributes -> filename.....then whatever dynamic name you will create in UDF will be the target filename.....
    3. To change the adapter-specific attributes of the message header by using message mappings, you access the <b>required classes of the mapping API by using a mapping runtime constant.</b>
    To access the classes DynamicConfiguration and DynamicConfigurationKey by using the mapping runtime constant DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION, use the method getTransformationParameters() of the container object.
    You donot need to hard code the value of the filename in the file adapter for your interface.
    In SXMB_MONI, when you see the pipeline services you would see that the value of the filename is populated in the message payload.

  • Required jar files for using jdbc adapter

    Hi all,
    I have an XI scenario in which i need to send a msg from XI to Oracle 8.0 server.
    For this i am using the JDBC adapter.
    Can anybody pls tell me which are the jar files needed for doing so.
    Thanks in advance.

    Neetu,
    You will need to deploy the classes.zip file using the SDM. More details on how to configure the JDBC adapter can be found at

  • Updating a sequential file in Polling - DB adapter

    Hi,
    I am using DBAdapter to poll a table in the database and i have chosen 'Update a Sequencing File' option as the operation to be performed after the read. I was running the process on my local bpel server and was able to select a file on my system. I need to deploy the process in another Env and i was wondering what kind of format should be followed for the path and the file name? How do i specify a remote file in here?
    The process remains in the off state as it is not able to recognize the file path. Please Help.
    Thanks,

    Hi there,
    the full path on the system where it is running must be provided.
    The 'Update a Sequencing File' is good for development but storing the value in a file somewhere on your system can quickly become a problem. The option 'Update a Sequencing Table in Another Database' gives you the non-obtrusiveness of the file based approach but stores the value in a database table. It is a little bit more work to set up but likely worth it over time.
    Thanks
    Steve

  • Question about reading a sequential file and using in an array

    I seem to be having some trouble reading data from a simple text file, and then calling that information to populate a text field. I think I have the reader class set up properly, but when a menu selection is made that calls for the data, I am not sure how to receive the data. Below is the reader class, and then the code from my last program that I need to modify to call on the reader class.
    public void getRates(){
              try{
                 ArrayList<String> InterestRates = new ArrayList<String>();
                 BufferedReader inputfile = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("rates.txt"));
                 String data;
                 while ((data = inputfile.readLine()) != null){
                 //System.out.println(data);
                 InterestRates.add(data);
                 rates = new double[InterestRates.size()];
                 for (int x = 0; x < rates.length; ++x){
                     rates[x] = Double.parseDouble(InterestRates.get(x));
           inputfile.close();
           catch(Exception ec)
    //here is the old code that I need to change
    //I need to modify the rateLbl.setText("" + rates[1]); to call from the reader class
    private void mnu15yrsActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
            termLbl.setText("" + iTerms[1]);
              rateLbl.setText("" + rates[1]);

    from the getRates function your InterestRates ArrayList is declared within that function, so it will not be accesible from outside of it, if you declare it outside then you can modify in the function and have it accessible from another function.
    private ArrayList<String> InterestRates = new ArrayList<String>();
    public void getRates(){
              try{
                 BufferedReader inputfile = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("rates.txt"));
                 String data;
                 while ((data = inputfile.readLine()) != null){
                 //System.out.println(data);
                 InterestRates.add(data);
                 rates = new double[InterestRates.size()];
                 for (int x = 0; x < rates.length; ++x){
                     rates[x] = Double.parseDouble(InterestRates.get(x));
           inputfile.close();
           catch(Exception ec)
         }
