Serialization of complex hierarchies using PortableObject or PofSerializer

Hi, I am starting with Coherence and I am having a hard time trying to introduce POF serialization in a complex hierarchy of classes... classes containing another classes that extend abstract classes that extend another abstract classes... All of them add up to 500 classes... I tried using PortableObject and Cohclipse to generate automatically the readExternal and writeExternal methods but I noticed that I missed that data of the attributes contained in the abstract classes. I thought that it might be because I repeated in the subclass the indexes for the attributes of the abstract class but I changed it and it is still not working. Besides I have problems with Enums...
I just wanted to know which would be the best approach to this kind of task because I am trying to look for posible solutions in google but all I can find are just very simple examples... If you could give me any advise I would really appretiate it. Thanks

In Coherence 3.7 you can use annotations for por serialization, Coherence introduced two annotation: Portable and PortableProperty, that could make it for you easy to add por serialization without writing read/write external methods. Also it can automatically set the indexes so you avoid messing witht hem.
Thanks a lot,
Carlos Curotto.

  • Complexity of using N-step BADI in SRM 7using Process controlled Workflow.

    Hi,
    Just as a big thought,
    I have a Shopping Cart requirement, Here i am asked to develop a Custom workflow for SRM 7.0.
    And the client is looking for us to use Process Control Workflows i.e(BRF integrated one).
    I need to understand the complexity of using a N-step BADI.
    How would be the complexity level if I use a N step BADI( ie Multiple approval levels on Line Item Based).
    Kindly tell me the complexity of Using it and if any one has come across some requirement like this, then explain me that how did you face the situation.
    Expecting an Earliest Response.
    Thanks,
    Shanky

    Hi,
      Is your project SRM 7.0 implementation project then you have to go for Process Controlled Workflow and if your project is upgrade then you can still go with Application Controlled Workflow but down line this has to switch to Process Controlled Workflow.

  • How to load hierarchies using process chains

    Hi ,
    Can any one please explain the steps for loading hierarchies using process chain.whenever i drag the hierarchy infopcakage Save variant is also coming by default,so do we need to have different SAve variant for different hierarchy infopackages or can we have one save variant for all the hierarchy variables.
    Thanks,
    Vaka

    Hello Veka,
    How r u ?
    Yes ! SAVE Variant & Attribute Change Run will add up while loading the Hierarchy InfoPackage.
    Provide the InfoObject Name for which u r loading the Hierarchy in the SAVE variant and SAVE it. The same will be transferred to the Attribute Change Run also.
    If u r creating the Chain with more InfoPackages then have the Save Variant & Attribute Change Run at the last.
    Best Regards....

  • Loading Hierarchies using flat file

    Hi experts,
    I have requirement to load hierarchies using flat file.
    I have to create hier on Person Responsible, sub nodes are Sales Office, Project Definition, Project Type and Project Definition Description. I have file, i need to load into BW.
    I dont know much about hier loading, can you tell me what are the Attributes to be inserted and how to prepare the hier loading file which contains HIENM, VERSION, HCLASS, DATEFROM and DATETO.
    I dont know these fields are enough to load my hier.
    I have created one hier, when i try to activate it's giving error like ' no data exists'.
    Can anyone tell me how to prepare file to load into hierarchy?
    Thanks in advance,
    Venky

    Hi Venkatesh,
    There are several formats to load a hierarchy via file. The following two are the commonly used formats.
    1) Default
    Node ID                     NODEID
    InfoObject Name     INFOOBJECT
    Node Name     NODENAME
    Link Name     LINK
    HghrLvlNode     PARENTID
    Language Key     LANGU
    Description - Short     TXTSH
    Description - Medium     TXTMD
    Description - Long     TXTLG
    2) Sorted
    Node ID                     NODEID
    InfoObject Name     INFOOBJECT
    Node Name     NODENAME
    Link Name     LINK
    HghrLvlNode     PARENTID
    First Subnode     CHILDID
    Next Node Along     NEXTID
    Language Key     LANGU
    Description - Short     TXTSH
    Description - Medium     TXTMD
    Description - Long     TXTLG
    If Default format is used, the sequence of node IDs appeared in the flat file determines the structure of the hierarchy. Whereas the sorted hierarchy format defines the structure via PARENTID, CHILDID, NEXTID relationship.
    You make the selection in DataSource/Tran.Structure tab of InfoSource Page by clicking on the "Hier. Structure button.
    Good luck!

  • ++Custom Serialization with Complex Data type (Nested Classes)

    Hi,
    We have a scenario wherein we need to write CUSTOM SERIALIZERS for complex datatypes like INVOICE & ORDER (INVOICE inturn has ADDRESS type among others, ORDER has ADDRESS type, a COLLECTION of type ORDERITEM each of which are Java Classes in themselves)
    The example of Custom Serializer given in the SOA AS Dev Guide http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28975/custserial.htm#CFHHIBCA)
    shows only a simple java type used for serialization and deserialization.
    Can anyone please help us out by sharing any example depicting the CUSTOM SERIALIZERs for COMPLEX DATA TYPES?

  • How to generate wsdl for complex type using wscompile?

    Hi
    Since couple of days I am trying to generate the the wsdl for following classes
    abstract class Key implements serializable{
    class sikeKey extends Key{
    int siteKey;
    class AddressKey extends siteKey{

    <taskdef name="wscompile" classname="com.sun.xml.rpc.tools.ant.Wscompile">

    </taskdef>It generates the wsdl but without all complex type.
    <complexType name="AddressWebServiceModel">

    <element name="addKey" type="tns:AddressKey" nillable="true"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    <complexType name="AddressKey">
    <sequence>
    <element name="siteID" type="string" nillable="true"/>
    <element name="addressID" type="int"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>Here it should create the right mapping for classes siteKey so that the webservice call can be mapped with the response of this Model.
    Any one know how to configure the above script for proper mapping of complex type?

    Add the concrete subclasses of Key in an <AddtionalType> element in your config.xm. file.

  • Complex navigation & use of intermediate reports,NOT for the feint-hearted!

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to setup qutie complex navigation...
    I have a report that provides metrics based on the organizational structure, which in the dashboard is presented to the penultimate level, and permits a drill down to the lowest level (centre). At the rpd level, the metrics (sales metrics) are defined at the centre level to which the organization structure dimension is linked. We have a metric defined which flags whether the centre at which the sale is made is the same as the centre to which the employee is assigned/usually works at (this has all been loaded by the ETL). We then have a count distinct metric (Num of Employees) on the sales reps ids for those records in the fact table that have this previous flag marked. All of this works as expected.
    The dashboard displays this last metric described (Num of Employees) against the organizational structure. Again, OK. But we need to navigate after clicking on this metric, to another report, which displays all sales assigned to those employees (regardless of centre at which they were made), i.e. if the metric shows "6", then after clicking on this value, the "final" report to which we navigate must show all sales for those 6 employees. Naturally the table in the dashboard where the user clicks does not display the employee data, as it displays results at the centre level, so some kind of "intermediate" report which obtains those 6 employee IDs is necessary (this is how it would be done fore example in SQL). We have done this creating a report with employee IDs, a calculated field which compares the two centre values (as in the flag defined in the RPD), and finally contains the 4 organizational structure fields which need to obtain the values from the first report on the dashboard (ive assigned filters to these, which point to the correponding columns in the dashboard report). So, in theory this report would list the employee IDs we are counting in the "Num of Employee" metric. The "final" report then only needs to filter the values in the Employee Id column based on the employee IDs listed in the "intermediate" report.
    The error im getting is: "State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 7455, message: ORA-07455 ..." the oracle error message given is that the query exceeds the time limit allowed by the database as the query is estimated in hundreds of hours. The main reason I think this may be ocurring is because the intermediate report is accepting as filter ALL values in the columns ive indicated, where as what is actually need is that it take only the value of the organizational structure columns that correspond to the metric the user has clicked on. I.e. the filter instead of reading only the specific organizational values, is reading all the values in the table, and hence the query is not permitted.
    Has anyone achieved anything similar???

    by using Direct database request your bypassing all the wanderful metadata you built in the BMM layer, as such much functionality is not available.
    If you really need to use such complex SQL, I would suggest creating an inline view in the phyiscal layer and at least model this through your BMM either as a flat data source (ie include the dimension columns and model the same inline view into your BMM star)
    If you do that, the BI Server will know what other logical columns this data source can relate you and you should find the navigation works as expected.
    If you dont fancy that good practice, have a look at creating GOURL formulas as the column fx's, format as HTML to present the data as a hyperlink and manually pass all the parameters to the 2nd report.
    I'd do the first option, its more inline with intended use.
    What cant you do using the 'normal modelling / answers techniqes with union (see combined request in answers) and complex sql (evaluate function in RPD)??

  • Create report on hierarchies using Bex Analyzer

    Hi sir/mam,
    can any one tell me how to create report on hierarchy in BEx Analyzer .
    Basically i have an info object which is kept under Rows.what i did wasi simply dragged from Dimensions and dropped that info Object into Rows in Rows/Column pane.But that info object has hierarchy in Dimensions. when i dragged and dropped i only get that info object not with the Hierarchy.Now i have to create a report on that info object with the same Hierarchy as it is in the dimensions .
    please tell me the steps how to create hierarchy .

    Dolly, welcome to developing in BW.
    A hierarchy is considered a 'Property' of a characteristic. You can just right-click on the characteristic and select the hierarchy from the tab titled "Hierarchy" in the properties section. Select "Activate Hierarchy Display" and choose the hierarchy you want to show. You can also use a variable to allow the user to select from all available hierarchies for that characteristic.
    (Note that this is for BI 7. BW 3.x involves a similar process, but the interface is a bit different.

  • Load Hierarchies using PSA

    Hello,
    We are trying to enable the sign reversal characteristic (0SIGNCH) for a hierarchy in order to reverse signs of certain accounts during extraction.
    The documentation refers to the following prerequisites:
    "...the hierarchy must have flexible hierarchy structures. This is the case when the hierarchy is loaded via the PSA and, as a result, has transfer rules."
    "A hierarchy DataSource from a SAP source system must support loading by using a PSA."
    How can we determine if the hierarchy datasource supports PSA loads?  Example?
    Is there a way to enable PSA loads for hierarchies?
    Thanks,
    Adam
    How can we enable

    Hi Adam,
    I would NOT recommend tricking the system this way. The extractor needs to deliver different packages for IDOC and PSA and is not enabled to do this.
    When the PSA method for hierarchies was introduced the development decided to enable this feature for only one extractor, I think it was EC-CS items or something similar because they wanted to make use of the new feature 'Signs on Nodes'. The other extractors were not changed and up to then there were no plans to change it.
    If you need this you should contact development and ask for a solution. Maybe the problems aren't critical for 0COSTELMNT and you can change it, maybe they provide a solution with remote consulting, maybe they think your reasons are valid and they provide a note.
    Best regards
       Dirk

    My ProductInfo class is:
    import com.vpc.schema.ServiceInfo;
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.List;
    public class ProductInfo
      private String category, family, subGroup, size, productType, availability;
      private String displayLineNumber;
      private int lineNumber;
      private int parentNumber;
    private List<ServiceInfo> serviceInfo;
      public int getLineNumber()
        return lineNumber;
      public int getParentNumber()
        return parentNumber;
      public List<ServiceInfo> getServiceInfo()
        if (serviceInfo == null)
          serviceInfo = new ArrayList<ServiceInfo>();
        return serviceInfo;
      public void setServiceInfo(List<ServiceInfo> serviceInfo)
        this.serviceInfo = serviceInfo;
    I am able to do parsing for my simple type but when a complex type comes I am not able to do it. So please suggest how I can add complex type

    I suppose the posting of xsd is to show the structure of the xml...
    In any case, I can suggest a couple of things to do for the purpose.
    [1] If you still follow the same line of reasoning using some boolean like bDisplayLineNumber etc to identify the position of the parser traversing the document, you can complete the logic adding bItem (which you did not need under simplified consideration) and bService and bSubscriptionBand to identify at the parent or the grandparent in the case of the "complexType" serviceInfo and even the great-grand-parent in the case of arriving to the complexType subscriptionBandInfo...
    [1.1] With those boolean value, you determine bDisplayLineNumber etc under item directly, and then as well say bDisplayLineNumber_Service under the service etc and then bMin_SubscriptionBand etc under subscriptionBand etc. You just expand the number of those variables to trigger the setting of those fields in the object product, service in the serviceList and subscriptionBand in the subscriptionBandList etc etc.
    [1.2] All the reset of those booleans should be done in the endElement() method rather than in characters() method. That is logically more satisfactory and has a bearing in case there is a mixed content type.
    [1.3] Then when arriving at startElement of service, you make sure you initiate the serviceList, same for subscriptionBand the subscriptionList...
    [1.4] Then when arriving at endElement of service, you use setServiceInfo() setter to pass the serviceList to product and the same when arriving at endElement of serviceBand, you use setSubscriptionBand() setter to pass the subscriptionBand to service.
    ... and then basically that's is it, somewhat laborious and repetitive but the logical layout is clear. (As a side-note, you shouldn't use equalsIgnoreCase(), why should you? xml is case sensitive.)
    [2] Actually, I would suggest a much neater approach, especially when you probe many more levels of complexType. It would be even appear cleaner when you have two levels of depth already...
    [2.1] You maintain a Stack (or an implementation class of Deque, but Stack is largely sufficient here) of element name to guide the parser identifying its whereabout. By such doing, you get ride of all those bXXX's.
    This is a rewrite of the content handler using this approach and I only write the code of capturing service. Adding serviceBand is a matter of repetition of how it is done on service. And it is already clear it appears a lot neater as far as I'm concerned.
    public class ProductHandler extends DefaultHandler {
    Stack<String> tagstack=new Stack<String>();
    private List<ProductInfo> productList = null;
    private ProductInfo product = null;
    private List<ServiceInfo> serviceList=null;
    private ServiceInfo service=null;
    public List<ProductInfo> getProductList() {
      return productList;
    public List<ServiceInfo> getServiceList() {
      return serviceList;
    @Override
    public void startElement(String uri, String localName, String qName, Attributes attributes) {
      if (qName.equals("item")) {
       product = new ProductInfo();
       //initialize list
       if (productList == null) {
        productList = new ArrayList<ProductInfo>();
      } else if (qName.equals("service") && tagstack.peek().equals("item")) {
       service=new ServiceInfo();
       if (serviceList==null) {
        serviceList=new ArrayList<ServiceInfo>();
      tagstack.push(qName);
    @Override
    public void endElement(String uri, String localName, String qName) {
      if (tagstack.peek().equals("item")) {
       //add ProductInfo object to list
       productList.add(product);
      } else if (tagstack.peek().equals("service") && tagstack.search("item")==2) {
       serviceList.add(service);
       product.setServiceInfo(serviceList);
      tagstack.pop();
    @Override
    public void characters(char ch[], int start, int length) throws SAXException {
      String currentName=tagstack.peek();
      int itemPos=tagstack.search("item");
      int servicePos=tagstack.search("service");
      if (currentName.equals("name") && itemPos==2)  {
       product.setName(new String(ch, start, length));
      } else if (currentName.equals("displayLineNumber") && itemPos==2) {

  • Dimension with 2 roles and 2 hierarchies used in 2 cubes

    Hi,
    I have a dimension in which there are two dimension roles (roleA, roleB) defined as well as two hierarchies (hierarchyA, hierarchyB). Currently hierarchyA is set as default. (Not because that is in fact the default one, only because OWB forces one to choose a default)
    I need to define two cubes (cubeA, cubeB). CubeA will use the dimension with roleA and cubeB will use the dimension with roleB.
    Is it possible to tell cubeA to use/see/make available only hierarchyA and cubeB only hierarchyB? HierarchyA makes no sense in cubeB so I want to "specify" hierarchyB for cubeB.
    Thanks,
    Juanita

    A different issue but possibly related:
    I have a ROLAP cube with one of the dimensions containing multiple hierarchies. If I deploy this with deployment option set to "Deploy data only", it works 100%. As soon as I change the deployment option to "Deploy All", I get a VLD-0398 error.
    I need to choose "Deploy all" since the cube metadata must be deployed to the OLAP catalog in order for Disco OLAP and BI Spreadsheet Add-In to see the cube.
    First question:
    Is it possible to deploy to the OLAP catalog if the cube has a dimension with multiple hierarchies?
    Second question:
    If it is not possible, what is the workaround?
    Thanks,
    Juanita

  • How to get multiple header lines dynamically and also data hierarchically using ALV

    Hi experts,
    My requirement is shown below.. I neet to compare prices of service RFQs. So i design as below..
    I want to get RFQ number ,Vendor code and vendor name in ALV header and also other headings which static. I think dynamic table is the best way to load RFQ numbers to header.. But problem is i'm unable to load two lines dynamically using ALV.
    CALL METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table
         EXPORTING
           i_style_table             = 'X'
           it_fieldcatalog           = gt_dyn_fcat
         IMPORTING
           ep_table                  = gt_dyn_table
         EXCEPTIONS
           generate_subpool_dir_full = 1
           OTHERS                    = 2.
    I use this function and pass RFQ no and vendor code in two rows but it output gt_dyn_table in same row.. How to print them as given image???
    Then in data I want to get service items and according to the external service number divide them to groups and get sub totals and also finally total of all sub categories to compare each RFQs price to  compare.. There i think ALV hierarch can use. but not sure I can use with dynamic table(in header use it).
    What is thee best way to get the output in my image..??
    Thanks..

    Hi experts,
    My requirement is shown below..
    CALL METHOD cl_alv_table_create=>create_dynamic_table
         EXPORTING
           i_style_table             = 'X'
           it_fieldcatalog           = gt_dyn_fcat
         IMPORTING
           ep_table                  = gt_dyn_table
         EXCEPTIONS
           generate_subpool_dir_full = 1
           OTHERS                    = 2.
    Thanks..

  • Complex Query using findUsers()

    I have not run across any posting where the findUsers() or findUsersFiltered() methods were doing anything other than a simple query. Is it possible to do a complex query? For instance, find all users whose status is NOT Deleted. Or all users with a date attribute that is before a given date. Or all users with an attribute value of 'X' OR 'Y'. These are simple SQL queries. I can see how to do a series of simple queries and deal with merging or filtering the results. But wouldn't it be way more efficient to do it in the original query?
    If it is possible, can you point me to an example?
    Thanks,
    Bill
