Server Component JNDI name

Hi all,
I'm trying to consume a web service that i did with a ABAP function module. This means that my Web Service is in R/3 not in the Web AS.
I created a Deployable Client Proxy with the WSDL in the NWDS.
Now the EAR is deployed in the WebAS.
In my web-j2ee-engine.xml i have:
Application Local JNDI name: sc
Server component type: interface
Server component JNDI name: /wsclients/proxies/sap.com/sc/sap.com.sc
My question is where is the Server component JNDI name of my Web Service in the Web AS?
How can i find the JNDI names of all my apps in the Web AS?
In the help is says:
/wsclients/proxies/<ProviderName>/<ApplicationName>/<ProxyName>
But every time that i do
DefaultService obj = (DefaultService) ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/sc");
The error is: com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NamingException: Exception during lookup operation of object with name webContainer/applications/sap.com/testear/test/java:comp/env/sc, cannot resolve object reference. [Root exception is com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Path to object does not exist at sc, the whole lookup name is wsclients/proxies/sap.com/sc/sap.com.sc.
Please help,
Regards,
César Felce

Hi César,
You can access JNDI Registry with Visual Administrator tool.
Under "Services->JNDI Registry".

    I am trying to create a Crystal Reports XI report in a JSP using Sun One 6.1 Web server sp 5.
    At this point I am getting the error Error finding JNDI name on Sun One
    The application will run on Netbeans/Tomcat
    I have done the following:
    I edited CRConfig.xml

  • JNDI name is not displayed in server console JNDI tree

    Hi. I have two objects with similar JNDI names. Object 1 has JNDI name "abc.test1". Object 2 has JNDI name "Abc.test2". Here is difference in first char size: 'a' and 'A'.
    The issue is that in JNDI tree weblogic server console displays only Object 1. To see Object 2 I can change JNDI name for this object, but I do not want to change JNDI name.
    Is there any way to see both objects without renaming Object 2?
    I use WebLogic Server 8.1 SP4.
    JNDI tree is displayed from console left panel: <domain>-<server>-<server name>-<right mouse click>-"View JNDI tree"

    Someone finally found this one (Farhan I think) - I hope you can find this link: its in this forum - just a few weeks old do a search on jndi on this forum if you don't find it.

  • EJB not getting bound to JNDI name using Sun App Server upon deployment

    Hello,
    I've created a very simple "HelloWorld" EJB (2.1-style) and have successfully deployed it to my local application server (Sun Java System App Server Platform Edition 9.0). I now want to invoke the EJB (I have single stateless session bean that returns a string) using a simple remote client app (the client app is executing outside of the app server within its own JVM).
    From my client app I am able to create the InitialContext object, but I get error when trying to lookup my EJB's home object. My client looks as follows:
                   jndiProperties = new Properties();
                   jndiProperties.put("java.naming.factory.initial",
                        "com.sun.jndi.cosnaming.CNCtxFactory");
                   jndiProperties.put("java.naming.provider.url",
                        "iiop://localhost:3700"); // ORB listener is listening on port 3700...
                   context = new InitialContext(jndiProperties);
                   home = context.lookup("ejb/HelloWorldEJB"); // this line throws an exception (line 54)

    </sun-ejb-jar>I believe the root cause is that my EJB is not bound to a name within the app server. If I browse the "JNDI tree" from the app server admin console, I can see there is a root element "ejb," but there is nothing underneath. I guess I just expected to find the name of my EJB, "HelloWorldEJB." I swear I could have read somewhere in the documentation for the app server that when you deploy an EJB, the name of the EJB as specified by the "<ejb-name>" element of the ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor gets automatically bound within the naming server to its home object.
    At this point I would appreciate any insight anyone might have regarding this problem. I suspect there is something extra I need to do when deploying my EJB so that its name gets binded to its home object; I just don't have a clue at this point what that is.
    I should also mention that I have played with the parameter passed to 'context.lookup()' - I tried passing: "ejb/HelloWorldEJB", "HelloWorldEJB", etc - nothing seems to work. FWIW, if I just pass in "ejb", I don't receive an exception (I was glad to see this work since the JNDI tree-view from the app server admin console shows "ejb" as one of the root-elements within the naming-tree - this indicated to me I was on the right track in my diagnosis of the problem; i.e., it's probably not a connectivity or protocol issue)
    Thank you very much for your time and help.

    Nevermind folks - I got it to work. All my configuration was correct; I had other issues with the ejb-jar file that the verifier informed me of (my previous deployments were with the verifier turned-off).

  • JNDI Names of JMS server's queue not replicating to cluster

              Am having some trouble configuring a JMS Server and Queues in a clustered development

    Cameron,
    I resolve the problem using your clues.
    The problem was that I include the ejb.jar file in the .ear file and I copy the
    ejb.jar file in the applications directory and it is redundant.
    It is only needed to include the ejb.jar file in the .ear file.
    Best regards,

    Cameron,
    I think that it isn't the problem because yesterday it deploys correctly,and
    today I didn't touch the compilation options.
    Thank you !
    If you have another idea I really appreciate it.

    Hi Ricardo,
    Certain items are not replica-aware, such as JMS queues, so they must
    be
    deployed to a single target in the cluster. It sounds like your EJB
    is
    compiled with an option that turned off the replica aware stubs.

  • EJB Refs ( coded name and JNDI name )

    Hi
    I am just starting to develop EJBs . I can't get to work the EJB refs as expected . In a session bean I have a lookup for an Entity bean . Both beans are in separate JAR files , but in the same ear .
    The lookup from session bean to entity bean only works when
    the coded name in EJB ref is defined exactly the same as JNDI name for enity bean , also the name in lookup method must be the same in session bean .
    To my surprise , the JNDI name for the target EJB , defined in EJB ref for session bean , does not mater at all . Even if I change it to a non existant name , the bean lookup works .
    Theoritacally I understand that EJB ref is there to provide a mapping between the name of bean mentioned in code to the actual JNDI name of another bean , at the time of deployment .
    The above is happening in J2EE 1.4 envoirment .
    Please let me know , what am I doing here that is wrong .
    ( All examples and tutorials , usually give coded name same as JNDI name ) .
    Thanks
    Tarun

    The ejb-ref-name lives in a different namespace than the global JNDI names. Any names of ejb-refs, ejb-local-refs, resource-refs, etc. are scoped within a particular component's private namespace. All environment references are accessed via the java:comp/env namespace at runtime. So, if your ejb-ref-name(a.k.a "coded name") is ejb/foo in the deployment descriptor, you would access it from the code as follows :
    initialContext.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/foo");
    This way, neither the standard deployment descriptor nor the code has any dependency on the global JNDI name. That's a good thing since the decision about which target EJB should be linked to is often not made until deployment time rather than development time. Furthermore, it means if you want to change the linking you can always do it without recompiling your code.
    As for the global JNDI names, the first thing to note is that they are completely vendor-specific. That's why they don't appear in the standard deployment descriptor. In the J2EE SDK, each EJB that exposes a Remote view is assigned a global JNDI name in sun-ejb-jar.xml. This JNDI name is assigned from the global namespace of the application server. There's nothing stopping it from also being "ejb/foo", but it refers to a different thing than the "ejb/foo" above.
    Now we have an ejb-ref called ejb/foo and an ejb whose JNDI name is ejb/foo, but we haven't linked the two. When it comes to linking, you have two choices:
    1. If the target ejb is in the same .ear as the client component, you can use the ejb-link mechanism. This allows you to specify the target ejb by referring to its ejb-name. Since ejb-name is only guaranteed to be unique within an ejb-jar, the syntax allows for you to give the uri of the containing ejb-jar, followed by #, followed by ejb-name.
    2. Alternatively, you can specify the global JNDI name of the target ejb using sun-ejb-jar.xml Note that this will work whether the target ejb is in the same .ear or not. However, it's the only option if the target ejb is in a different .ear. In this case, you would create an ejb-ref entry for the client component within the sun-ejb-jar.xml. e.g. :
    <ejb>
    <ejb-name>MyClientBean</ejb-name>
    <ejb-ref>
    <ejb-ref-name>ejb/foo</ejb-ref-name>
    <jndi-name>ejb/foo</jndi-name>
    </ejb-ref>
    </ejb>
    Again, it's just a coincidence that both names happen to be ejb/foo. They refer to different things.
    When you do a global lookup from your code, initialContext.lookup('ejb/foo"), it will work in some environments because you're simply bypassing the level of indirection provided by your component environment and going straight to the global namespace. This is non-portable and not a good idea, since you've now tightly coupled the name of the target ejb to your client component. That means if it changes you need to recompile your code. Hope this helps.

  • Global Jndi Name

    I am new player in EJB 3.0 and I am kind of running into a remote EJB calling problem. In an EJB client,
    @javax.ejb.EJB(mappedName="dorp.Content")
    private dorp.Content _local;
    works perfect from the same application. While I try to deploy my client some where else, I should use a global jndi name but I cannot figure out what is the format of global jndi name is valid for a SUN APPLICATION SERVER VERSION 9. I have tried following, but no luck:
    @javax.ejb.EJB(mappedName="iiop://192.168.1.200:3700/dorp.Content")
    private dorp.Content _local;
    can anyone give me some idea, what should be in place of:
    "iiop://192.168.1.200:3700/dorp.Content"?
    Thanks a million

    What kind of Java EE component is the client of the ejb? By somewhere else, do you mean in a different application running within the same server instance, or in some other instance of the application server, or in some other kind of JVM altogether (stand-alone web server, stand-alone java client, Application Client container) ?

  • How to add a Jar file to J2EE Server Component Library ?

    Hello,
    My objective:
    =====================================================
    To add a 3rd party jar file to be a runtime jar file to J2EE Server Component
    Library project.
    I have created a J2EE Server Component Library project.
    I have built the J2EE Server Component Library project to get the provider.xml file and place the provider.xml under the J2EE Server Component Library project's server folder.
    Here is my problem:
    =====================================================
    I can't open the provider.xml with SAP's special editor for the provider.xml.
    The special SAP editor doesn't exist for me.
    Here is my question:
    =====================================================
    Q1) Do I copy/paste my JAR_X file where <jar_0> is located? (Below is the
          J2EE Server Component Library SDA structure.)
    Q2) If you were to update the provider.xml with notepad, what would you
    type in provider.xml for JAR_X?
    Q3) Is there anything else that I need to do?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Greetings,
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException. Root exception is
    org.omg.CosNaming.NamingContextPackage.NotFound
    =================
    Below is the line of my LoginServlet class which is
    referred to in the stack trace - Object object =
    context.lookup
                        ( "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" );The root of the naming context is 'java:comp/env' and this is where lookup automatically begins for EJBs and resources. IOW, by specifying "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" as the EJB lookup name the server is actually treating this as "java:comp/env/java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk". Specify only the ejb context ("ejb/WarehouseClerk") in your lookup and you should be fine.
    Any help would be most appreciated.
    SeanRegards,

  • Override JNDI names in persistence.xml and @resource annotation

    I have a Java EE 7 application that I am developing for use with both GlassFish and WildFly, but I have discovered that both application servers use a slightly different format for specifying JNDI names.
    In GlassFish the persistence.xml file references the data source jdbc/myDataSouce, but in WildFly the data source needs to be java:/jdbc/myDataSource.The same is also true for classes that are annotated with @Resource. In GlassFish the annotation for a class using JavaMail would be @Resource(name = "mail/myMailSession"), but to deploy onto WildFly this would need to be @Resource(name = "java:mail/myMailSession").
    The only solution I've got at present is using Maven to create two different releases of the EAR file, with one EAR file containing a persistence.xml file with the data source jdbc/myDataSouce for use with GlassFish, and the second EAR file containing a persistence.xml file with the data source java:/jdbc/myDataSource for use with WildFly. Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution for the @Resource annotation.
    I've taken a look at the documentation for glassfish-application.xml and glassfish-ejb-jar.xml and have tried using resource-ref to override the JNDI names but the application fails to deploy due to an error in the name.
    My question is does GlassFish provide any capability to override the JNDI names specified in the persistence.xml file and classes with the @resource annotation?
    Many Thanks
    Paul

    Have you been able to solve this? I'm attempting to understand what Web Server 7 can do with regard to Java Persistence and what elements of it require Glassfish.
    I've also spent great amounts of time in WS6.1 trying to figure out why a JNDI resource couldn't be found. The rules of thumb I've learned are:
    - Try dropping the *'java:/comp/env/* prefix; just use jdbc/pact part
    - Make sure all referrences (in web.xml and sun-web.xml) are identical with regard to that name.
    I'm hoping you're not still dealing with this (it's been two months!) but if anybody else stumbles on this, maybe it'll help them.

    which hosts the SCOM databases.  SQL Reporting Services is up and running fine (can access the web urls etc).  Im also using the SCOM install account wich has full SQL and SCOM Server admin rights for the install.  Ive checked that the Firewall
    is off locally on the SQL Server, Ive also checked that the existing SCOM components are all in a Healthy state in the SCOM console.
    The installed version of SQL Server could not be verified or is not supported. Verify that the computer and the installed version of SQL Server meet the minimum requirements for installation, and that the firewall settings are correct. See the Supported
    Configurations document for further information.
    Ive attempted the install on a standalone SQL Server away from the SQL Server hosting the SCOM databases, but encounter the same error.  The full SCOM MSI Installer log details are below, line that appears most relevant is below but unsure why
    this would be the case (same account that I used for SQL install etc).  Any help much appreciated! : )

    The issue is SQL report server database related, I would like to suggest you create a new report database for SCOM and then check the reuslt. Please refer to the below links and follow it to set up SCOM 2012 R2:

  • A problem determining the JNDI Name of a local EJB with WL 8.1

    Hi,
    I created a very simple local EJB and deployed it with Weblogic8.1. When I test
    it in the Weblogic server admin page, I got the following message:
    "The EJB MyLocal has not been tested successfully. There was a problem determining
    the JNDI Name of the given bean."
    Can anyone help figure out the problem?
    Thanks
    Henry

    Does the ejb have a target server specified?
    Does the Ejb have a Jndi binding as specified in the <local-jndi-name></local-jndi-name>
    element of weblogic-ejb-jar.xml?
    thanks,
    Deepak

  • Problem with Database JNDI Name

    I have written an entity bean & tring to deploy it with CMP 1.0
    I have already included classes12.jar in my classpath.
    (I am using Oracle database)
    I have specified driver & datasource as follows
    j2eeadmin -addJdbcDriver oracle.jdbc.driver.Driver
    j2eeadmin -addJdbcDataSource jdbc/Oracle jdbc:oracle:[email protected]:1521:listorcl
    When I tried Deployment Settings I have given following specs
    Database JNDI Name : jdbc/Oracle
    User : username
    Password : password
    When I click on Generate SQL Now or Generate Default SQL the following exception occurs .
    NameNotFoundException : Oracle__pm not found
    Note : The J2EE server & Database Server are running.
    Pl Help Me.
    Thanks In Advance

    mmm I will try to explain it better:
    1) long time ago I created my account SDN, in "kind of relationship with SAP option", I indicated "partner"  (i work for consulting company, SAP partner), and register in the form our S000... number.
    2) From there, I login SDN with my personal mail, and in my profile my data OK and like SAP partner.
    3) from a few months ago, when I try to login using my ma.il as usual, I get an error message:
    The email address does not exist.  and that I must enter you user S000 ....
    4) but when I login user our S000.. (such as SAP partner), "Ariela" data appears (who is my boss), because she is the comercial contact person with SAP, and she manage the S000 account
    5) the history, posts, points and others are mine (Leandro Balboni);
    6) but I do not want is to change this profile, because in this way would be modifying the data responsible for the SAP account as a partner.
    7) I wonder if I can still loing SDN as before,  perhaps must not indicate "partner", but simply put the name of my company.
    8) how can I fix it?
    thanks in advance,
    best regards,
    Leandro

  • How to setup JNDI Name for Oracle Apps adapter?

    Hello,
    I am learning Oracle SOA 11g and trying to do some tutorial on Oracle Application Adapter.  I know how to configure JNDI for DBadapter and I did that successfully. I followed same steps to create New JNDI for Oracle Apps Adapter.
    1. I Created new data source using Path Services->Data Sources -> New Genric Data Source. Connection to database was successful and created new JNDI Name: jdbc/PKDTAPPS.
    2. Then Deployment-> OracleApps Adapter-> Configuration-> Outbound Connection Pools -> New and created JNDI Name eis/Apps/PKDTAPPS.
    However I did not find newly created JNDI Name in step 2 under Deployment-> OracleApps Adapter-> Configuration-> Outbound Connection Pools -> javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory.
    Please let me know if am I following correct steps to create new Oracle Apps Adapter JNDI Name or not.
    Since above approch did not work I created new JNDI for DBAdapter with same database connection details. And then latter on use that JNDI Name while creating Oracle Application Adapter in JDeveloper composite. And it allowed me to access Oracel Apps open interface. However while deploying the application it gave me following error.
    <Feb 16, 2015 10:50:59 AM CST> <Error> <oracle.integration.platform.blocks.deploy.servlet> <SOA-21537> <Sending back error message: There was an error deploying the composite on AdminServer: [JCABinding]

    oracle.tip.adapter.apps.AppsTableWriteInteractionSpec..>
    Since I have no past experience kindly suggest me what is right way to do this.
    Thanks,
    Shri

    Hi shri,
