Server Crashes while compiling JSP

          Hi,
          I have a jsp (in a web app which i have deployed on WLS 7.0)and when i invoke
          it, the server crashes and i get the below mentioned error, somewhere i read this
          is a bug in jdk. I am using the jdk shipped with WLS 7.0. Could someone urgently
          help me in this regard... I am sure that there is no problem with my jsp as sometimes
          its successfully compiled .. but most of the times i get this error/excpetion:

Your original post mentions issues with jsp:useBean and jsp:setProperty, now you're talking about tag libraries and directives. Can you be more specific about what you're trying to do? Are you having problems getting JDev to recognize a tag library or are you having problems with the tag library when running the app? What directive are you trying to use that causes the termination error?

  • Server Hangs while compiling some EJB in Weblogic 6.1 SP5 on AIX 4.3.3

    Hi,
    Iam not able to deploy a J2EE application in WebLogic 6.1 SP5 on an AIX 4.3.3
    box.
    CMP is being used and my EJBs are not being compiled( though there are no errors
    thrown).
    Iam using IBM DB2 ver 8.0 DB as client and server.
    While compiling, the server Hangs, displaying the message "<Info> <Management>
    <Configuration changes for domain saved to the repository.>"
    Is there any configuration Issues with weblogic 6.1 SP5 and AIX 4.3.3?
    Because the same EAR works in SP3.
    Please help ASAP.
    Thanks in advance.

    The only thing to do again with "hangs" is to take thread dumps. As for why
    things are going wrong...... I am at a loss other than some AIX weirdness.

    Hi Mark,
    I tried it out ....I ran EJBC on all my EJB's and then tried to deploy myapplication.
    Application got deployed and the server was up, but JSP's dosent getcompiled(
    i.e when I want to run my application, my server hangs again).
    I tried one more option.. I pointed my JAVAHOME in startweblogic.sh to anSP3
    JDK .. and it worked!! Now with this JDK Iam able to deploy my entireapplication
    ( with out precompiled) also run through the application without anyproblems.
    I then over wrote the existing JDK ( of SP5 ) with that of SP3 and thentried.
    Which also works fentastically!!!
    I can feel something fishy here ....
    Any help in this regard is most welcome.
    Thanks and Regards...

    Now I believe you would have figured out what the problem is.Not sure if this is a statement saying you think I have figured it out,
    or a
    statement saying you think I should have figured it out but I haven't.
    Anyway... Did you try running ejbc on the "app" first?
    Meanwhile also it would be great, if you would tell me the proceduresto

    So the Server never gets out of the Main thread to run, because theEJBC
    compilation is "stuck", ejbc is running because either the EJB being
    deployed was previously deployed on a different version of WLS orejbc
    had
    never been run on those beans. Either there is a problem on the AIX
    VM
    where execing processes are not returning, OR the ejb that ejbc isrunning
    on is huge and is taking a REALLY long time. How much time was
    between
    the
    two dumps? How long have you waited with no progress seeming to bemade?
    Depending on the answers to these questions it maybe that there isa
    VM bug
    and you will need to contact BEA support to see the procedure forworking
    with AIX to resolve the issue.
    You maybe able to work around the problem by running EJBC on the ejb
    in
    question prior to starting the server.

    "kill -3 PID" is how this works on Solaris. Additionally if the

    well. The thread dumps will go to std-out/err, so you'll have

    std-out and err of the shell. (Make sure you don't nohup the

    AIX even supports that) since this prevents sigquits). When thehang

    take a thread dump, wait 10 seconds and take another one, thenplease

  • Running out of space while compiling JSPs

    Using WL7.0 on JDK1.3.1_06 on Solaris 8 we've run into an exception
    java.io.IOException: Not enough space(see below for full stack trace)
    while compiling JSPs. The problem is that we are running out of RAM
    because our WL7 process is quite large and when it tries to compile a
    JSP it forks itself which creates another large process. On our test
    machines since there might be several running instances of WL this can
    lead to the problem below. The natural fix for this would be to (1)
    precompile all the JSPS, (2) increase the RAM on the machine(s) in
    question, or (3) somehow force weblogic not to fork when doing page
    compilations.
    (1) In production we precompile our pages by running the weblogic.jspc
    class using arguments like -k -compileAll -depend -webapp $BRAND -d
    $DEST.
    Unfortunately this doesn't compile all of the pages probably because
    it doesn't execute cleanly due to the fact that we have some includes
    that aren't proper stand-alone JSPS (I don't know how to fix this
    other than changing all of our includes to dynamic includes which is
    undesirable at runtime). Any ideas here?
    (2) increasing the RAM isn't practical for all places where this
    problem occurs, in some cases we have maxed out the RAM on the
    machines we have.
    (3) Does anyone know if it is possible to tell WL not to fork when
    doing a JSP page compilation?

    p.s. I did some searching on the forums before I posted this and was
    surprised that most of the posts on this subject were a) very old and
    b) didn't come to the conclusion that it was RAM space that the
    exception is referring to.

    As far as I remember, this error refers to the lack of swap space to
    fork the new process.
    In theory, you can specify compilerclass in weblogic.xml :
    weblogic-web-app
    jsp-descriptor
    param-name compilerclass
    param-value compilerclassname
    to compile in-process, but, for some reason, it doesn't work in 7.0
    (it did in 6.1 - probably a bug or something). When JSPServlet initializes
    in 7.0 it says:
    ... *.jsp: param compileCommand initialized to: compilerclassname>
    and forks javac anyway.

    Using WL7.0 on JDK1.3.1_06 on Solaris 8 we've run into an exception

    while compiling JSPs.
    (3) Does anyone know if it is possible to tell WL not to fork when
    doing a JSP page compilation?

    p.s. I did some searching on the forums before I posted this and was
    surprised that most of the posts on this subject were a) very old and
    b) didn't come to the conclusion that it was RAM space that the
    exception is referring to.--

  • "No tag library could be found with this URI" error while compiling jsp

    I am using WebLogic Server 9.2 MP1, JDK 1.5.0_09, Struts 1.3.5
              I am pre-compiling jsp pages with wlappc ant task. However, I got following errors when a jsp page contains ant taglib:
              No tag library could be found with this URI. Possible causes could be that the URI is incorrect, or that there were errors during parsing of the .tld file.
              The jsp page looks like:
              <%@ taglib uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-html" prefix="html" %>
              wlappc complains taglib could not be retrieved from this uri. Actually, since Struts 1.3.5, those ".tld" files are contained in strust-taglib-1.3.5.jar, folder META-INF/tld/. And I don't need to set anything in web.xml <tag-lib> tab anymore.
              All the jsp pages can be successfully compiled while being deployed to Server. So what am I missing? My build.xml file looks like:
                   <target name="compile-jsp">
                        <wlappc source="${src.dir}" output="${out.dir}"
                             keepgenerated="true" optimize="true" classpathref="wl_classpath"/>
                   </target>
              where "wl_classpath" contains all the struts related jar files, e.g. struts-core-1.3.5.jar, struts-taglib-1.3.5.jar, ...., and weblogic related jars, e.g. weblogic.jar.....
              I checked "beehive" samples coming with weblogic92, and found it pretty much did the same thing regarding build script and jsp files. So I am totally lost!
              Please help me out. Many thanks.

    Yes sorry, you're correct. The uri I mentioned is just 1.0.
    Do you have the "Oracle WebLogic Web App Extension" Facet for your web project? If not, try adding that and making sure that there is a weblogic.xml file created in the WEB-INF dir. The weblogic.xml file allows you to deploy usig a shared lib for JSTL. It should contain a library-ref element something like the following, with a version of 1.1.
    <wls:library-ref>
    <wls:library-name>jstl</wls:library-name>
    <wls:specification-version>1.1</wls:specification-version>
    <wls:exact-match>true</wls:exact-match>
    </wls:library-ref>

  • JDBC Adapter: J2EE server crashes while sending large messages

    We want to use the following scenario to transfer data from a MS SQL Server to SAP BW via XI:
    JDBC Sender Adapter – XI – SAP ABAP Proxy.
    All works fine with a small amount of data. But if the select statement delivers too many record sets and the size of the transformed XML payload is greater then 50 MB the J2EE server crashes. A complete restart is necessary. It seems to be am memory problem.
    Here are the entries from our log files:
    dev_server0
    [Thr 6151] Mon Jul 24 12:46:57 2006
    [Thr 6151] JLaunchIExitJava: exit hook is called (rc=666)
    [Thr 6151] **********************************************************************
    ERROR => The Java VM terminated with a non-zero exit code.
    Please see SAP Note 940893 , section 'J2EE Engine exit codes'
    for additional information and trouble shooting.
    [Thr 6151] SigISetIgnoreAction : SIG_IGN for signal 17
    [Thr 6151] JLaunchCloseProgram: good bye (exitcode=666)
    std_server0.out
    FATAL: Caught OutOfMemoryError! Node will exit with exit code 666java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
    Is this a general problem of the XI or a specific one of our configuration? Is it possible to transfer such large messages via XI? If not, is there a workaround for such scenarios?
    (Memory heap size of the J2EE server is 1024 MB.)

    I have changed my interface determination so that no message mapping is used. The J2EE server still crashes.

    Hi Nimrod
    In case of such an error I have no entries in channel monitor. So I can't see anything there. I have also no entries in message monitor of the RWB in this case. So I don't get any information with standard XI tools.

    The problem is that the source of my data is not a simple SQL statement but a stored procedure. So I don't know exactly how many records will be delivered. A update command is not possible.

  • Error while compiling JSP file from glassfish server

    Hello, I have created a single page with only one text box using Netbeans and Visual Web Pack and deployed it on to Glassfish Build44 server. Deployed okay. But when I try to open the page I get the following error. But the same project when I create on studio creator and deploy to Sun java App Server that comes with creator, it works fine. Any help would be really useful.
    Error:

    I have tried 2 diff version of jdk1.5.0_06 and jdk1.5.0_12. No use. It is all running under win env. I saw couple google hits on this error. But no real solution that I could see.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Report Builder 6i crashes while compiling

    I have report builder 6.0.8.11.3, running on Windows XP SP2.
    I am connecting to a 10g database and compiling a custom report.
    This report was running fine in the database, i just copied to my folder and compiling from local system (connecting to the 10g server). So this is not a code issue.
    After compiling 50%, the report builder crashes with this message: Report Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close.In more information, the error signature is given as AppName:rwbld60.exe AppVer3.0.0.0 ModName ora805.dll ModVer 0.0.0.0 Offset 00046d68.
    We have re-installed Report Builder/Windows/Oracle client from scratch many times but not able to solve this issue.
    Please let me know of any pointers in this regard.
    Thanks
    Manu

    dude dude we get the same error hell of times ..its a bug in report builder ..it suddenly crashes in unexpected situations and oracle is no longer supporting 6i builders ..i think its time for you to migrate to 10g developer suite.
    or else recreate the layout and try ..i have done that for many reports becuase for some reasons layout gets corrupted.
    All the best

  • NWDI - Runtime error while compiling JSPs (PAR DC)

    Hello
    I am creating a PAR DC that needs to use some in house developed
    ValueObjects (accessed through a J2EE server library).
    Though my developed JSPDynPage is able to access the ValueObjects, when I try to use it in a JSP, I get a runtime compilation error.
    According to my understanding, setting the PrivateSharingReference helps the controller (jspdynpage) find the classes it needs at runtime,
    But the JSP Compiler does not have access to those classes.
    Can anyone suggest a solution that does not include copying jar files
    manually?
    I have an open CSN about this, but no answer there yet...

  • OSB-Weblogic server crashes while starting

    Hi,
    I am not able to start the weblogic server as it is getting crashed at the time of starting only
    and i am not able to know the reason also.
    The command prompt closes and i am not able to check the log as well.(where to check the log??)
    Nothing is showing in log file.(Not sure whether i am checking the right log file)
    But somehow i got to know the error is because of the memory heap.
    Error occured during initilzation of VM
    Could not reserve enough space for memory heap.
    could not create the java virtual machine.
    Initially while installing i got an error
    Checking swap space: 0 MB available, 500 MB required. >>>FAILED
    Does this thing have similarity between them.
    As i am new to Oracle can you all please help me onto this.
    I have been through many forums and they all say that you have to incerease the meory heap. But i dont know how to go for it.
    Pleaze help
    Thanks alot

    Error occurred during initialization of VM

    Anuj

  • Virtual Server fails to compile JSP pages -repeat

    I'm running iWS 6.0 SP2 using jdk 1.3
    I have 4 virtual servers defined each serving out HTML pages and everything runs fine.
    I'm building a 5th VS and I need it to support JSPs and nothing works...
    I've turned on all the debugging and trace features I can find but, nothing helps me resolve the fact
    that the JSPC can not locate the index.jsp file.
    Below is a copy of the JSP1x error found in the errors file:
    [12/Aug/2002:18:19:27] info (14254): Service(): uri=/index.jsp cgiScriptName=/index.jsp token=null cached=false

    Based on the above information I notice a few things that seem to not follow the documentation.
    First the JSPC is looking for a file in MBDB/html even thought the original index.jsp file is
    part of the BUSINESSWARE virtual machine
    Second the ClassCache files do not follow the documented naming convention
    jsps/VS id/uriid ...
    Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Not related to the problem but you shouldn't really be using JDK 1.3 (use JDK 1.3.1 if you need to use JDK 1.3+). As for the problem, the problem seems to be you don't seem to be ling web application. Could you add a web application with context root as "/" for the virtual server and I am positive this problem should go away.

  • Problem while compiling JSP in FORTE

    Hello Friends,
    I am using Fore for Java 4 Community Edition, I have created a web module. I am using internal tomcat 4.0 server. When I request for a JSP which has a bean or a class file stored in the WEB-INF\classes folder either using useBean tag or if try to create an object of that class, I get compilation error as forte is not including those classes in its classpath. But when I deploy the same application on external tomcat, it works fine. Even after I mount the classes folder in the project, it doesn't solve the purpose. Please help me to get rid of this problem. My directory structure is as follows.
    root - jsp and html files
    root\WEB-INF\web.xml
    root\WEB-INF\classes - all class files
    root\WEB-INF\lib - lib jars

    I am also working on Forte. Forte has an inbuilt Tomcat. You dont need to copy any files to any where in the file mount system. You need to specify the External / Internal Browser settings, So that when you try to execute it, the .jsp file can be displayed in the browser. I havent faced any problem as you said.

  • 500 Internal Server Error while connecting JSP with Oracle

    Hello Friends,
    We Have installed Oracle Applications 11i in our orgaization which run on HP-UX 11.11 (HP Unix). I have created a JSP file in which I am trying to connect the database using OracleConnectionCacheImpl Class File in oracle.jdbc.pool directory. But it shows an error message as:
    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    I have also installed Oracle HTTP Server on my personal machine at which this code runs perfectly only the error comes when i try to connect oracle from Oracle HTTP Server installed on our HP Unix Server.
    the path for pool package is:
    /appltest/apps/prodora/iAS/oem_webstage/oracle/jdbc/pool
    the location of JSP file is:
    /appltest/apps/prodcomn/portal/TEST_test/test
    What I think is I have to play with the CLASSPATh entries, but dont know how. Please help me in solving this issue...
    For your reference the JSP code is:
    <%@ page import="java.sql.*, javax.sql.*, oracle.jdbc.pool.*" %>
    <jsp:useBean id="ods" class="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleConnectionCacheImpl" scope="session" />
    <%
    try
    ods.setURL("jdbc:oracle:thin:@test:1546:test");
    ods.setUser("kpm_hr");
    ods.setPassword("kpm_hr");
    Connection conn = ods.getConnection();
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    Resultset rset = stmt.executeQuery("select first_name,last_name from kpm_hr.kpm_hr_emp_mst where empcode='P0580'");
    rset.next();
    out.println(rset.getString(1)+" "+rset.getString(2);
    catch(SQLException e)
    out.println(e);
    } Thanks in adavnce,
    Ankur

    Just to verify, which relevant log files have you found?
    catch(SQLException e) {
    out.println(e);
    } Have you search the console log file?
    A quick observation reveals that your jsp is just a standalone java program executed inside jsp. Suppose you just run it as a standalone program. Any error then?
    Another way going forward is to install oc4j standalone of the same version. It is very easy to install: just download the oc4j-extended.zip and unzip it and run "java -jar oc4j.jar". Put you jsp inside j2ee/home/default-web-app and run. You should see relevant log messages in j2ee/home/log/server.log and j2ee/home/application-deployments/yourApp/application.log.
    You should have Jdeveloper of some appropriate version installed. If you have not, install one. It might be not a little bit high learning curve at first, but the rewards are quick and amazing, especially since jdev 10.1.3. (I am speaking from my experience.) Try it with Jdeveloper.
