It might help if you google for "java package" and read the basic tutorial :-)
packages are a way of organizing your java beans.
eg in the java API you have the java.lang, java.io, java.util packages...
String -> java.lang.String List -> java.util.List
Your code should be something like this:
package bank
public class BankAccount{
}The class BankAccount is in the package bank.
The fully qualified name of this class is then bank.BankAccount.
Your java beans MUST be in a package for them to work properly. You will need to change your .java file recompile it. You also store the class file in a folder relative to its package. So the compiled file for this class would be : WEB-INF/classes/bank/BankAccount.class

Hi
I am working with the Tomcat 5.5 on Eclipse, and is getting the error when my servlet calls the jsp using request dispatcher, the error is:
HTTP status 500
The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.
and the log of the exception is:

and when I go to the line in the controller.java which is giving me the exception, I do not find anything wrong with it, this is the line:
RequestDispatcher dispatcher = getServletConfig().getServletContext().getRequestD ispatcher("/view.jsp");
dispatcher.forward(request, response);
Any clarifications highly appreciated.
When I debug my code, I find that the config is null just before the RequestDispatcher line. What does that mean ?
thanks.Looks like you have a space in "D ispatcher"?
RequestDispatcher dispatcher = getServletConfig().getServletContext().getRequestD ispatcher("/view.jsp");If that's not the solution than going by your error you need to check your variable because somehow you're pointing to nothing:

The server encountered an internal error. Please retry the request.
Hi,
I have a VM with Windows 2012 Server. It has an automation script to start the VM every day at 7 o'clock and end at 23:30.
Point is that until yesterday it worked well but this morning didn't started. I've been trying manually but until now it have been impossible to start the VM.
After a while I have the following error message: "The server encountered an internal error. Please retry the request."
I don't know what else I could do to not lost the productive data in the server and start it without problem.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
SergioHi,
In some cases as availability of free blades or free space within a blade in a cluster fluctuates, the constraints to find an allocation for the service may not be met. When these constraints are not satisfied, we return back an allocation failure error
message.
To avoid this error create multiple affinity groups to house services that are not required to be placed together, spin up smaller numbers of VM’s at a time, ensure retry logic is in place when an operation is unsuccessful and also utilize multiple datacenters
for your deployments.
Try Multiple Restarts for the VM, however if the VM still does not start, please try the below steps
Resize the Virtual Machine from the Portal but ensure to Back up the Data in the Temporary Drive ( D:\) since the data will be lost while Resizing.
If the issue is still not fixed, please recreate the VM by retaining the attached Disk’s and attaching the same to the new VM
Hope this helps !

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.
Hello
i am getting this error:
Server Error
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to
complete your request.
Could not connect to JRun Server.
the problem is that when i try to submit for email i am
getting this
the button is supposed to submit a email to ---->Sometimes a quick trick to try is to do a <CFABORT> on
the first line of code..run it, nothing will happen, then take it
out.. and when you run it again you'll probably get the detailed
diagnostics that'll tell you what it's not happy about.
Otherwise...just progressively comment out code until it
starts working, and you've isolated where the issue is. -
Unable to start VM - The server encountered an internal error
Hi All,
I am having the following issue this morning when attempting to start my VM,
Failed to start the virtual machine 'XXXX'. The operation '80496101afa9641fa46a0b99afdf361e'
failed: 'The server encountered an internal error. Please retry the request.
Nothing has changed and we have plenty of credit on our account,
I've done some searching around and can see a number of other users with similar issues but various solutions; some of which involve recreating the VM which seems extreme.
Hoping someone can assist.Hi,
Which region is that VM in?
Did you start the VM in the Azure management portal? If yes, I recommend you to use Azure PowerShell commands to see if the issue persists:
start-Azurevm -Servicename xxx -Name xxx
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn495226.aspx
http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/install-configure-powershell/
If you still cannot start the VM and you have no important data on the temporary driver (D:), you can resize the VM to check the result (After resizing, the data on the temporary driver would be lost).
Best regards,
Susie

"The Server Encountered an Internal Error" XT65/75
hi
I am developing a httpconnection which send two parameters on a database on a server through a servlet.I have compiled the midlet and downloaded it on the module.I try to run it through AT command (at^sjnet,at^sjra).
I used "post" method for sending the data.But when running the program I get "the server encountered an internal error".I checked the log file on the ApacheTomcat webserver and it says:
Dec 20, 2008 3:34:31 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve invoke

I would be glad if anybody could help me.it would be really appreciated.Sometimes a quick trick to try is to do a <CFABORT> on
the first line of code..run it, nothing will happen, then take it
out.. and when you run it again you'll probably get the detailed
diagnostics that'll tell you what it's not happy about.
Otherwise...just progressively comment out code until it
starts working, and you've isolated where the issue is. -
Error: The server encountered an internal error. Please retry the request.
I constantly gets this error "The server encountered an internal error. Please retry the request" whenever I try to start my VMs. Sometime it takes 4 - 5 tries to start a VM. What's wrong here? any idea?
thanks.In order to diagnose further we might require further more information including Subscription ID and Log Reports.
Microsoft respects Customer Data Privacy and hence would not recommend you to share the same on public forum.
I suggest you to try Analyzing the Operations History from the Management Portal. It helps you to view Historical Logs of all Create/Update/Delete Operations performed on all Services in Azure
You might want to refer to the below link to know more about Operation Logs
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/azuremobile/archive/2013/11/26/operation-logs.aspx
Hope this helps !

What you can do is add Java option: "-XX:MaxJavaStackTraceDepth=0" - this will make appserver print all Java stack trace and you will be able to see the origin of your exception.
