Server Process Event Detail Definitions

I'm trying to add a new LDAP query against Group objects from an MS Active Directory. The User Settings query for this OU is working. I've also successfully added two other group queries so far, but when I reach this one particular OU, I'm getting the following System Event error:
LDAP Unavailable Server Process [PrincipalDomainEntity: itvn epoch:29 state:20 ]
Does anyone know what the 'epoch' and 'state' codes mean? And what are the messages associated with those code numbers?
John

Hi,
Based on your description, I find following KB in
List of updates in Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2. It seems to be suitable for current
scenario. Please refer to and check if can help you.
DCOM programs do not work, and event ID 7031 is logged
after you install Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,

    I do not see any other event that could cause the DCOM to fail, not sure that could have been the reason for this.
    Any idea?

  • OIM 11.1.1.5: Post Process Event Handler, change password notification

    Hi,
    Products
    OIM 11.1.1.5 BP02
    OAM 11.1.1.5
    OID 11.1.1.5
    Problem
    I have written a post-process event handler which fires when a role is assigned to a user. The event handler calls a plugin which uses the UserManager API to generate and change the user's password.
    I've tested this by assigning a role to the user via the OIM web console. I can see my log messages indicating that the event handler has fired and that the password has been changed.
    However, I expected that when UserManager.changePassword completed, a notification email would then be sent to the user informing them of the new password, but no notification email has been sent.
    The email notifications have been set up correctly, because I have changed the same user's password via the OIM web console and successfully received a Reset Password email.
    So, my questions are:
    1) Am I right in thinking that when you call UserManager.changePassword(), an out-of-the-box ResetPassword email notification should be sent to the user?
    2) Has anyone got this working in 11.1.1.5?
    Some more detailed info
    In my plugin class I'm calling the following from both execute methods (EventResult and BulkEventResult):
    char newpasswd[] = new RandomPasswordGeneratorImpl().generatePassword(user);
    getUserManager().changePassword(userKey, newpasswd, false, null, true);
    logger.info(("Successfully changed password"));

    No notification will be sent if you changepassword using the method from usermanager api.
    You have to trigger the resetpassword event manullay in your code.
    Here is a sample code to create an event for reset password. Once you create event, invoke it from notification service - notify method.
    NotificationEvent event = new NotificationEvent();
    String[] receiverUserIds= {userLogin};
    event.setUserIds(receiverUserIds);
    event.setTemplateName("ResetPasswordNotification");
    event.setSender(null);
    HashMap<String, Object> resolvedData = new HashMap<String, Object>();
    resolvedData.put("userLoginId", userLogin);
    event.setParams(resolvedData);

  • OIM 11g Pre Process event handler

    Hi All,
    I had built a pre process event handler to generate userid and it was working fine. But i had slight modifications in the code. When i unregistered the old event handler and registered a new one, oim was still picking the old event handler. So in order to bring the code changes into effect, i restarted the managed server after which the event handlers are not getting triggered(even the old one).
    I deleted all the records corresponding to the custom event handlers from MDS_PATHS,PLUGINS,LATEST_PLUGIN AND PLUGIN_ZIP tables and registered the handler again and also imported the event handler xml file. But still the plugin is not triggered.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Bhavana

    My lib file contains the package as mentioned in the metalink.
    Heirarchy in Plugin folder :
    1) plugin.xml
    2) Lib ( lib contains 3 folders : com/example/custompph; And inside custompph is my CustomPreProcessEventHandler.class file)
    You mean to say i should not copy the entire package in lib but only the jar file of the CustomPreProceessEventHandler.class* file.
    If i put only a .jar file in lib i get the following error.
    "Error occured during the use of plugin registering utility. The plugin zip does not contain the definition of plugin class com.example.custompph.CustomPreProcessEventHandler"
    Thanks

  • ProjectUID selected from the reporting database from Project Server OnPublished event is taking some delay

    Hi all,
    I'm invoking a stored procedure from the reporting database from the project server onPublished event.  I'm having some issues in getting the details of that particular project from the published event handler.  This i noticed that there is some
    delay is taking place in moving the data(project uid )  from the published to the reporting database .
    My stored procedure select statement is as follows:
    SELECT ProjectUID, ProjectName FROM MSP_EpmProject_UserView
     WHERE ProjectUID=value
    This stored procedure is invoked from the onPublished event of the project server event handler where that particular projectuid is passed in that stored procedure.I have noticed that some delay is taking palce to move  the data into the reporting database.
    My stored procedure got invoked from the onPublished event of the project server event handler before the delay is complete.  So the row selected from the stored procedure is alwys zero (0).  Is there any other method to wait for repoting database
    to get refreshed. Please help me .

    Hi sabithad,
    The issue you are facing is because of the conflict of permissions, event handlers always works through administrative user credentials whereas the project is open in edit mode by the logged-in user. And you are tyring to update custom field at the back
    end with Administrative credentials, while project queue is in process by logged-in users credentials. Its not gonna work this way :)
    The best option is to use Javascript on your PDP using CEWP, you can either build your complete logic in JavaScript and place that code on your PDP. OR you can use the combination of JavaScript and PSI and create a webpart to be placed on PDP.
    below blog link willgive you directions to go ahead with, but for sure the solution to your query is
    JavaScript :)

  • Subscribe Calendar Event Details Missing

    I have a new problem with one of our office iCals. We publish the HR calendar on the server, and everyone subscribes to it. Problem being that when someone new subscribes, they get all the events, but the events are blank. It shows the time span that the event occurs, but there is no title or description.
    I went to other computers and verified this is the case. The calendar is working for anyone who already had it, and they can refresh and see full event detail.
    To test the problem I had a user that already had it working go to a computer where it wasn't and subscribe with his authentication, thinking maybe it was user-related, but when he subscribed on that machine the same thing occurred, he got the events, but they are blank.
    Anyone have a clue what this is?

    Figured it out. For some reason the publisher's settings lost the checkbox that stated "Publish Event Titles" or something like that. Definitely weird.

    Hi,
    Few comments here...
    1) Seems your environment is not setup correctly but that is not the big cause here.....
    2) This one is important, it seems that you installed weblogic using a different account and are trying to run it from a different account.
    So the account with which you are trying to run weblogic does not have proper permission on
    MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\config\fmwconfig\bootstrap\cwallet.sso
    Right click on the file and go in properties ..
    Enable full control,modify,Read and execute,read and write permissions for the user you are trying to start weblogic and apply it.
    if this simple steps doesnt work, please enable more logging by adding "-Djava.security.debug=jpspolicy" to startup option and grab more details.
    Good Luck let me know if this works.

  • How to return a specific date/time range and last event details, when checking the event log via command prompt

    I am new to scripting (literally started reading/learning scripting a few hours ago), and I am stuck in trying to get my current script/command to filter a specific date range.
    * Note: I am working with Server 2003 and 2008; because of the environment I am in, a lot of scripts (such as Powershell and VBScript) don't work; trying to stick with command line, as it appears to be the only thing that functions correctly in my environment
    I am trying to search the System log in event viewer, for the most recent server reboot. Here is the command that I am currently running:
    ===========================================================
    C:\Windows\System32\cscript C:\Windows\System32\eventquery.vbs /L System /FI "id eq 1074"
    ===========================================================
    When run, the output looks like this:
    ===========================================================

    ===========================================================
    What I would like it to do is only show events that have happened in the last seven days, as well as show the event details if it does find an event that matches the criteria.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
    Nick

    I would prefer using Powershell , you can use below code
    function Get-EventViewer
    param(
    [string[]]$ComputerName = $ENV:COMPUTERNAME,[string]$LogName,[int]$eventid
    $Object =@()
    foreach ($Computer in $ComputerName)
    $ApplicationEvents = get-eventlog -logname $LogName -cn $computer -after (Get-Date).AddDays(-7) | ?{$_.eventid -eq "$eventid" }
    foreach ($event in $ApplicationEvents) {
    $Object += New-Object -Type PSObject -Property @{
    ComputerName = $Computer.ToUpper();
    TimeGenerated = $event.TimeGenerated;
    EntryType = $event.EntryType;
    Source = $event.Source;
    Message = $event.Message;
    $column1 = @{expression="ComputerName"; width=12; label="ComputerName"; alignment="left"}
    $column2 = @{expression="TimeGenerated"; width=22; label="TimeGenerated"; alignment="left"}
    $column3 = @{expression="EntryType"; width=10; label="EntryType"; alignment="left"}
    $column4 = @{expression="Source"; width=15; label="Source"; alignment="left"}
    $column5 = @{expression="Message"; width=100; label="Message"; alignment="left"}
    $Object|format-table $column1, $column2, $column3 ,$column4 ,$column5
    $Object.GetEnumerator() | Out-GridView -Title "Event Viewer"
    You can do a function call like
    Get-EventViewer -LogName system -ComputerName "computername" -eventid "2017"

    Hi Vivek,
    FYI :
    JStartupICheckFrameworkPackage: can't find framework package D:\usr\sap\NW2\JC02\exe\jvmx.jar
    The above message can be ignored. You will see that message often in perfectly up/running systems as well.
    Also, the dev_jcontrol file shows that the server process was terminating !
    You need to check std_server0.out file for the errors/exceptions as to why server0 was terminating abruptly. The reason should be apparent from dev_server0 and std_server0 most of the times unless its a startup framework bug where the error messages are not written to the log files.
    So, whenever the server process or dispatcher process fails to start, you should check the corresponding dev_server<n> or dev_dispatcher and std_server<n> / std_dispatcher  files. Also, usually, there will be some exception (if its application related) in the defaultrace file as well under server<n>\log or dispatcher\log depending on which one is failing to start.
    e.g. if server0 is failing to start due to some UME issues, you will see the mention of it in std_server0.out (definitely) and more ellaborate info/exceptions in deafultrace under server0\log as well.
    Hope the above helps.

    Hello Experts,
    I have complex Biz Talk 2013 farm having 20 servers,15 Hosts. In my production environment even if there is no traffic i am getting throttling errors from SCOM for my all the production hosts.
    Error : One of the BizTalk Server processes in the affected computer is being throttled for significant
    periods because of high database size exceeding the threshold
     I checked following things:
    1. MsgBoxDB size 748732 KB
    2. Spool table size  53 MB
    3. Tracking DB size 26724 KB
    4. Host settings --  Message Queue Size = 100, MsgCount = 50000 , Spool MP = 10 , Tracking MP = 10
    5. Ran Message Box viewer  and did not found any error related to DB size. (which counter i should focus on in MBV)
    Note -- for DB i am sharing full backup size because it does not have log file size.
    Please suggest where i should focus?
    Is SCOM reporting correctly because everything is fine in biztalk ?
    Thanks

    Hi Yagyam
    I remember this error from SCOM when you use the standard SCOM BizTalk pack.
    Check the eventlog of the server, do you see any errors in event log, this could give some clue to the root cause. Whenever you have this alert from SCOM, you must have
    some entries in eventlog relating to the alert raised by SCOM.
    Is your message processing by BizTalk hosts are normal? Run the performance monitor to see the bottleneck. Check if there is really throttling.
    As mentioned in this blog, check the state of the SQL Agent on BizTalk's SQL database server, may be try restart the SQL Agent on BizTalk's SQL database server.

  • Server 2012 Event 307 - Printed Document Name

    I created a printer monitoring system that pulls events from the event logs of a server and then compiles this information into reports.  I can tell how many pages printed per printer for a period of time, I can tell what users are my highest printers
    and once in awhile for some reason I would actually review what was printed.
    I use this data to determine when another printer is needed or not needed.  I used the printed document name to justify not replacing a $5000 color laser printer. because they printed personal stuff more than business.
    This process worked great until I installed Windows Server 2012, and I have tested this on Windows 8 and have the same result. (I only care about the server though.  ;) )
    In the event log: Microsoft-Windows-PrintService/Operational
    In server 2003, event 10: Had printed document name
    Server 2008 and Server 2008 R2: Had printed document name.
    Why is this no longer there, or was this an oversight?
    I asked this at TechEd and there was not a Microsoft person there who could answer my question and they referred me to the forums.  Can someone tell me what I can do to turn this on, was this an oversight, bug, etc.

    Hi,
    What are the models of your printers?
    I would like to confirm that have you update the printer drivers from the printer manufacturer for Windows Server 2012?
    In addition, if you have Windows Server 2003, 2008, and 2012 in the same envirment? If so, you may try to get the event information from the previous operating system.

  • Custom Pre Process Event Handler in OIM 11g for middle initials

    Hi,
    I am trying to congiure a Custom Pre Process Event Handler for generating middle name in OIM 11g and I am following the steps as given in metalink ID: *1262803.1*
    Even after successfully performing all the steps I am not able to get the middle initials in Admin Console when I create a new user.
    1) Directory structure for the application that I have created through JDeveloper.
    CustomApplication/
    |-- CustomApplication.jws
    `-- CustomProject
    |-- CustomProject.jpr
    |-- classes
    | `-- com
    | `-- example
    | `-- custompph
    | `-- CustomPreProcessEventHandler.class
    `-- src
    `-- com
    `-- example
    `-- custompph
    `-- CustomPreProcessEventHandler.java
    2) Directory structure for Plugins directory
    My Plugin.xml :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <oimplugins>
    <plugins pluginpoint="oracle.iam.platform.kernel.spi.EventHandler">
    <plugin pluginclass="com.example.custompph.CustomPreProcessEventHandler"
    version="1.0" name="CustomPreProcessEventHandler" />
    </plugins>
    </oimplugins>
    plugin/
    |-- lib
    | `-- com
    | `-- example
    | `-- custompph
    | `-- CustomPreProcessEventHandler.class
    |-- middlename.zip
    `-- plugin.xml
    Copied the middlename.zip in the plugin folder in OIM_HOME and registered it successfully.
    3) Created a EventHandlers file and imported it successfully using importmetadata.
    My EventHandlers.xml:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
    <eventhandlers>
    <!-- Custom preprocess event handlers -->
    <action-handler
    class="com.example.custompph.CustomPreProcessEventHandler"
    entity-type="User"
    operation="CREATE"
    name="CustomPreProcessEventHandler"
    stage="preprocess"
    order="10"
    sync="TRUE"/>
    </eventhandlers>
    I checked the logs as well but could not find something which can help me to proceed.
    Also please advise is their any mapping that I need to do in *"Design Console"*
    Please advise !!!!!
    Thanks

    Thanks

  • Server side eventing

    Hi developers,
    I got the following problem in a customer's project. Analoguous to the
    tutorial in the sdn about server side eventing (In the component
    interface controller the event InnerEvent is fired and passes the stringparameter text to the event receivers (embedding component).) I did the
    following: I created three web dynpro components. The components
    EmployeeSearchComp, BonusComp and TicketComp. BonusComp and TicketComp
    depend on EmployeeSearchComp and BonusComp depens on TicketComp.
    Inside the BonusComp a InterfaceView from EmployeeSearchComp is
    embedded. I declared a event in the EmployeeSearch Component Interface
    Controller which is fired if an employee is choosen. BonusComp and
    TicketComp have a event handler declared for this event. But if the
    event is fired only the handler method in BonusComp is called! I am not
    shure if it is a bug or not! But from my point of view both (all
    registered handler methods if I correctly understand the tutorial)
    handler methods should be called!? This happens when I call the
    BonusApp with the Bonus Component Controller. Do somebody have an idea how
    to solve it? I am not shure but I think at same time it has worked and now it does not work.
    Greets Ruben

    Hi Ruben,
    Let me rephrase your scenario, to see if I got all the details.
    You have an application that launch BonusComp which embed an instance of EmployeeSearchComp. You declared an event on EmployeeSearchComp component interface and then, in BonusComp, you declared an event handler.
    You did the same with TicketComp, except that TicketComp is used nowhere in your application. Right?
    I can see two problems:
    1. TicketComp is not instantiated and so it will not be part of your runtime logic.
    2. TicketComp and BonusComp use different instances of the EmployeeSearchComp so they will react only to the event of their own instance.
    Ask if you need more details.
    Bests

  • Is dedicated server process part of Instance or not?

    Hi friends,
    I am new to Oracle Database. I have been reading famous book "Expert Oracle Database Architecture" by Thomas kyte. At page no. 62 he has said that "This dedicated server process is not (by definition) part of the instance."
    But in the [email protected] documentations at almost most of the places they have mentioned that dedicated server is part of an instance. Interestingly Tom Kyte has coauthored book. I got confused because Dedicated server process would also have PGA so it will be part of Memory so it should be part of instance. So has Tom Kyte said for that particular dedicated process and why? He must have said that with some reason? What is that?
    I have also asked my trainer. But I didn't get satisfactory answer.
    Thanks.

    Can you cite a specific instance of the documentation stating that dedicated server is part of the instance?  Your embedded link is a 'mailto' link, not a url to a document.
    I can offer specific links stating otherwise.
    If I start at Oracle Database Online Documentation 11g Release 2 (11.2)  I am at the portal for all database 11.2 documentation.
    From there, do a search for 'dedicated server' and get the results of that search at Oracle Database Search Results: dedicated server
    The first result returned is the definition, at Glossary
    The definition states:
    dedicated server
    A database configuration in which a server process handles requests for a single client process.
    If I follow the embedded link for 'server process', I get the definition of a "server process" at Glossary
    Note that this definition is for all "server processes", not just dedicated server.  It says
    server process
    An Oracle process that communicates with a client process and Oracle Database to fulfill user requests. The server processes are associated with a database instance, but are not part of the instance.
