Server-Services property called Web Services Listener in Enterprise Server

I am trying to find out the Server-Services property called Web Services Listener Port inside the Enterprise Server web console..but I cannot find it.. In the BPM manuals it is given that:-
When using FuegoBPM Enterprise Server, the Port is defined in the
Web Console as a Server-Services property called Web Services Listener
Port. Therefore, instead of the default port 9000 used in the Studio,
the URL is composed by this redefined port.
Where can I find this inside of the web console?

I got my answer:-
For 10g and 6.0 Studio:
http://{MachineName}:9000/albpmServices/{Projectname}/ws/{Processname}ServiceListener?wsdl=true
For 10g and 6.0 Enterprise using WebLogic, the URL is similar, but replace the {MachineName} and port number with the WebLogic host and port. And, you will need to replace the {project name} with {engine name}. The Engine name is the BPM engine name shown in the Oracle BPM admin console under Engines:
http://{WebLogic MachineName}:{WebLogic Port}/albpmServices/{Engine-name}/ws

  • Security issues with calling web services from within Oracle?

    I'd like to use a trigger to initiate pushing data to a web service, so I thought we should call the web service from PL/SQL in a DBMS job, or perhaps create a .NET stored proc to call the service. Our DB Lead is concerned about security, since the standard model is for clients to call the database, and not for the database to function as a client.
    Does this pose any security risk? Can you refer me to any best practices or articles on this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Edited by: Kit.net on Nov 9, 2010 11:28 AM

    First, a trigger is there to for a single sole purpose - guaranteeing the integrity of the data and the transaction. It is not there to interact with external services and processes (like mail, web and other services). Doing that exposes the transaction to those other processes/services. The transaction can now fail. not because of a business rule validation, but because of a network error when the trigger accesses an external service. How on earth can a business transaction fail when the transaction is valid, but a the transaction's trigger hit an external access error!?
    And what happens do that event you have fired off in the trigger, when the transaction is rolled back? How do you undo that event you have created in the trigger that was based on uncommitted data?
    So using a trigger like this is simply stupid (and yes, I have seen it too often in practice with horrible results to sugarcoat such an idiotic approach).
    As for calling a web service from the database, using the database as the client in such a case. This is not a security risk. This is not unusual. In fact, it is very common in my experience. We have a lot of databases, ranging from SE to EE and several RAC clusters. All of them function as a client at some stage during processing. Some use a db link - and as a client fire off a SQL via that db link to a database server to obtain data. Some use ftp and act as a ftp clients, transferring processed data (XML format) to a server. Some call web services to extract data from 3rd party systems to reconcile the differences between local data sets and 3rd party data sets..
    This is common between server and server. I do not see anything unusual in the database server using another server (and acting as a client when it does). Security between servers should not be a major problem (in fact, it can easily be done in a very robust way using trusted and encrypted communication).
    The problem occurs when a client connects to the server and client and server roles are swapped at some stage (like the server "writing" a file directly to the client's filesystem). This very seldom makes any sense. And this is where authentication and security become an issue.

  • How to make a PDF form call Web service and return a static pdf for user to print?

    Hi all,
    Can anyone help me regarding the feasibility of using PDF forms for my following case?
    I would like to create a Dynamic pdf form. User only have the Acrobat reader. they can enter some information. Then have a submit button. when user click the submit button, it can call the web service with data. then Web service returns a Static PDF document based on data and the user can print it out. (and maybe save as separate pdf file)
    1. Is that possible to implement? Because I know PDF can call web service, but dont know how it handle when the webservice returns another static PDF document. could it able to handle the responds and open up in another acrobat reader?
    2. As I understand I need to have Live Cycle Designer to create a pdf  and make it Reader Enabled. So user can user reader to call webservice? am I correct?
    3. What minimum reader that user need to have? PDF reader 7 or above?
    4. I have a webservice serve the same purpose for web. But if I want the same web services can serve both web and PDF form. So, whatever client (PDF or Web)make the web service call, server returns the PDF document to client. Is that possible ? Do I need to make any changes on web service?
    5. Do I need to get any other Adobe server product? (other than Live Cycle Designer )
    Thanks a lot

    We have done a similar approach in the past and yes, it can be doable.
    1. Is that possible to implement? Because I know PDF can call web service, but dont know how it handle when the webservice returns another static PDF document. could it able to handle the responds and open up in another acrobat reader?
    Srini: We have developed a Servlet to talk to Webservice. Based on the Webservice response, the Servlet, prepares the Byte stream and sends it to Webbrowser to display as a PDF. The PDF data was submitted to Servlet in XML format.
    But if you do not want to use the above approach, then you have to use the Workbench Process.
    Submit the PDF data to a Workbench process and the inside process, execute Webservice Service with the data. Once the response is received, prepare the data XML and render a PDF with it.
    To do this, you need LiveCycle Server and Reader Extensions server component.
    2. As I understand I need to have Live Cycle Designer to create a pdf  and make it Reader Enabled. So user can user reader to call webservice? am I correct?
    Srini: If you want to use the Servlet, you can Reader extend the PDF with Acrobat.. But if you want to submit the data directly to Webservice, then you need Reader Extensions server component.
    3. What minimum reader that user need to have? PDF reader 7 or above?
    Srini: Not sure but Reader 8 and above should work.
    4. I have a webservice serve the same purpose for web. But if I want the same web services can serve both web and PDF form. So, whatever client (PDF or Web)make the web service call, server returns the PDF document to client. Is that possible ? Do I need to make any changes on web service?
    Srini: If you use the Servlet approach, then you can re-use the same webservice. But if you want to submit directly to the same webservice, you may need to change it to suit your data XML.
    5. Do I need to get any other Adobe server product? (other than Live Cycle Designer )
    Srini: If you use the Servlet approach, you do not need any server component but other approach, you need Livecycle Server and Reader Extensions server component.
    Thanks
    Srini

  • Is there a way to call web service from 2 servers??

    Hi,
    I need to know if its possible to call web service from 2 different servers without having load balancer??? I mean, if one of the server has heavy work on, then it should call web service from the other server.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards.

    Hi,
    WebLogic Cluster has this feature ( Load Balancing & Failover ). If you will deploy your WebService to a WebLogic Cluster and then If you will put a Proxy in front of it like (Apache)...Then it is Possible.
    <h3><font color=maroon>What All You Need To Do ? ...... as following</font></h3>
    <b><font color=maroon>Step1).</font></b> Create a WebLogic Cluster (minimum two ManagedServers)
    http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2010/04/28/weblogic-clustering-in-remote-boxes/
    <b><font color=maroon>Step2).</font></b> Install a Proxy like Apache in frot of them like following:
    http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2010/05/13/apache-proxy-as-static-content-repository/
    Or
    http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2010/08/01/weblogic-httpclusterservlet-proxyserver/
    <b><font color=maroon>Step3).</font></b> Now Configure a FrontEnd Host for your Cluster by providing the ProxyServer Host name as the FrontEnd of your Cluster. This step is required to Generate the Dynamic WSDL with the Address of the Frontend.(Not of a perticular WebLogic Server)
    http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2010/06/21/configuring-frontend-host-and-port/
    <b><font color=maroon>Step4).</font></b> Deploy your WebService on the Cluster
    <b><font color=maroon>Step5).</font></b> Now Hit the WebService using the Proxy URL:
    Example:
    http://ProxyHostname:proxyPort/ServiceContextRoot/ServiceURI?WSDL

  • Calling a Web Service from another Web Service

    Hello,
    I have the following scenario: Web Service -> XI -> RFC.
    I have created the XI -> RFC configurations in the XI and exposed them as a Web Service. I tested the generated WSDL with WebDynpro for Java and it works well (I also uploaded the WSDL to the XI server and tested it from the wsnavigator).
    I have created a Web Service from a Java class, deployed it on the XI server (the same XI server as the one with the RFC scenario), tested it and it works well.
    Now I want to call the service I exposed from the XI from inside my Web Service.
    How can I do that? Are there any code samples for that? I searched and couldn't find any.

    create a standalone proxy for your WSDL of the web service deployed on XI java stack and use its API library in the caller Web service...
    find the details here...

  • VO object error while calling Web Service.

    Hi,
    I created one page with 5 text field and one choice list with three buttons.
    Functionality is :
    1. As page loads I am calling Web Service to set the values in fields.
    2. When user enters new values or changed the old values and click on "Save" button, again web service is called to store that values.
    Problem is when changing message choice value. For message choice I created one VO for lookup_code and meaning.
    When I click on "Save" Button it showing me error
    Attribute set for LookupCode in view object EncryptionModeVO1 failed

  • Calling web service via utl_dbws with unbounded return values

    Hello, everyone.
    I'm trying to use utl_dbws to call web service from Oracle DB 10 g.
    WS has unbounded return value:
    <xs:element maxOccurs='unbounded' minOccurs='0' name='return' type='xs:string'/>
    I'm setting return paramter in web service call handler like this:
    sys.UTL_DBWS.set_return_type(l_h_service_call, cs_qname_type_string);
    and when I'm trying to call it from PL/SQL function I'm getting an error:
    ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception:
    deserialization error: XML reader error: unexpected character content: "s2"
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_DBWS", line 388
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_DBWS", line 385
    ORA-06512: at line 38
    I've tried to return values by out parameters and got the same exception.
    It looks like utl_dbws needs to know parameters count before calling.
    Have anyone succeded in getting arrays from Web Service call?
    This is a part of wsdl:
    <xs:complexType name='getProcessList'>
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element minOccurs='0' name='nameMask' type='xs:string'/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    <xs:complexType name='getProcessListResponse'>
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element maxOccurs='unbounded' minOccurs='0' name='return' type='xs:string'/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    Throught SoapUI I can produce such kind of request:
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:proc="http://processmanager.argustelecom.ru/">
    <soapenv:Header/>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <proc:getProcessList>
    <processNameMask>*</processNameMask>
    </proc:getProcessList>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    and get a response:
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <env:Header/>
    <env:Body>
    <ns2:getProcessListResponse xmlns:ns2="http://processmanager.argustelecom.ru/">
    <return>s1</return>
    <return>s2</return>
    <return>s3</return>
    <return>s4</return>
    </ns2:getProcessListResponse>
    </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>

    Hi Tony
    I'm not sure if you would have solved your problem by now, but with my recent experience with the utl_dbws package, for doc lits with complex data types, you have to call the service with an XML request, as opposed to passing the param array.
    If you still need details, reply accordingly.

    Yes, SAPHTTPA (runs on application server) and/or SAPHTTP (runs on front-end pc), one of which, is required for HTTP communication.  So far, nothing too elaborate as far as SOAP goes, but the logic is simplistic.  Here's some sample code:
      DEST = 'SAPHTTPA'.
      TRANSLATE HOST TO LOWER CASE.
      MYURL = 'wssrvTest/Service.asmx/GetByOrderItem'.
      CONCATENATE HOST MYURL INTO MYURL.
      REQUEST_HEADERS-DATA =
                  'Content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded'.
      APPEND REQUEST_HEADERS.
      CLEAR REQUEST_HEADERS.

           EXPORTING
                INPUT  = ITEM
           IMPORTING
                OUTPUT = ITEM.

           EXPORTING
                INPUT  = MATERIAL
           IMPORTING
                OUTPUT = MATERIAL.
      CONCATENATE 'sOrder=' ORDER
                   INTO REQUEST_BODY-DATA.
      APPEND REQUEST_BODY.
      CLEAR REQUEST_BODY.
      CONCATENATE '&sItem=' ITEM

  • Calling web service.

    Hello,
    I have designed a form in Livecycle designer in which I am calling web service of coldfusion using javascript, passing a xml file as parameter, so here is the code but not working. But I want to ask that is this the currect way of calling web service-
    var cURL = "http://ad/web_service.cfc?wsdl";
    SOAP.wireDump = false;
    var service = SOAP.connect(cURL);
    var result = service.addXml( sample.xml );
    app.alert(result );
    Is this the currect way to call a service by passing xml file as parameter?
    Thanks,
    Debadas Baral.

    Hello,
    Could you please be more specific about 'it stops responding'?
    Are you sure that your stub is sending the request to the server? Do you have any stack trace? It may be a simple connection issue.
    It is hard to answer without any more information. The behavior should be the same using your JSP or your swing application. Have you try to debug the application using Jdeveloper to see in which step the call fails ?
    Also if you are running the JSP from JDevelpoper be sure you have the correct proxy settings.
    Regards

    com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.discovery.TargetNotMappedException: Logical Target CSD.SystemHome.f7sap03 not mapped to a physical system.
    It seems that there is something wrong with the configuration of the target system for the called Web Service in your AS Java.
    Best regards,

    Without far greater details as to what you are doing, what you have installed, and what you have tried, not much can be offered. All that I can gather from the information you provided is that the server name you are trying to contact either is not responding or is invalid. If you have Forms installed on your local machine (for example using Developer Suite), try using localhost rather than the hostname. For example, http://localhost:port/forms/frmservlet?form=yourform

  • SSIS: Performance Issue while calling Web Service

    Hi
    I am trying to load data from an API calling web service in SSIS. I wrote a small piece of C# code, which connects the webservice and pulls data for a given time interval.
    My code will first connect to the webservice and then pulls data for a given interval of time. The returning data will be first stored in an ssis variable in XML format and then from that variable, data will be loaded to sql server table.
    WebService --> XML Variable --> SQL server table
    Here all is fine till we have small amount of data say 1000 - 2000 rows returning for given time period. If data volume is more say 10000, it
    fails !!! error: "timeout"
    Could anyone please suggest me some best/optimized solution for this.
    C# Code used:
    public void Main()
    string URL = Dts.Variables["User::URL"].Value.ToString();
    string LD_JOB_NR = Dts.Variables["User::V_LD_JOB_NR"].Value.ToString();
    Dts.TaskResult = (int)ScriptResults.Success;
    string DATA1 = HttpGet(URL).ToString();
    Dts.Variables["User::xmlDoc"].Value = DATA1;
    writefiles(DATA1, "OrderInfo", "xml", "E:\\myDirectory\\storage\\XMLfiles\\", LD_JOB_NR);
    Dts.TaskResult = (int)ScriptResults.Success;
    static string HttpGet(string url)
    HttpWebRequest req = WebRequest.Create(url) as HttpWebRequest;
    req.Timeout = 600000;
    string result = null;
    using (HttpWebResponse resp = req.GetResponse() as HttpWebResponse)
    StreamReader reader =
    new StreamReader(resp.GetResponseStream());
    result = reader.ReadToEnd();
    result = result.Replace("&lt;", "<");
    result = result.Replace("&gt;", ">");
    result = result.Replace("&#xD;", "");
    result = result.Replace("&amp;", "&");
    result = result.Replace("&apos;", "'");
    result = result.Replace("&quot;", "\"");
    return result;
    private void writefiles(string delistring, string tgtfilename, string fileextention, string filepath, string LD_JOB_NR)
    DateTime dt = DateTime.Now;
    string s = dt.ToString("yyyyMMddHHmmss");
    StreamWriter writer = null;
    string fileName = filepath + tgtfilename + "_" + s + "_" + LD_JOB_NR + "." + fileextention;
    try
    writer = new System.IO.StreamWriter(fileName, true);
    writer.WriteLine(delistring);
    catch (Exception ex)
    throw ex;
    finally
    writer.Close();

    Hi Arthur,
    Thanks for your reply !
    I tried to figure it out on API end but no success, actually it is out of our network(organization).
    If any other approach/way... please guide me
    meanwhile I 'll try to get information regarding timeout
    at API end.

  • Sys.UTL_DBWS issue when calling web service .......

    Hi,
    Background Details :
    Linux : 2.6.18-164.10.1.0.1.el5 #1 SMP Fri Jan 8 02:34:10 EST 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    Web Server : Apache Tomcat 6.0.20
    Database : Oracle 10.2.0.4
    Utility that we use to consume the Web Service from PL/SQL : JPublisher 10g Release 2 (10.2)
    Load Balancer : Citrix Netscaler
    We are using the Oracle built in package called UTL_DBWS to invoke the Java web service. The web service is been called through a Load Balancer called Citrix Netscaler.
    Load balancer has been configured to use the Source IP mechanism to route the request to the appropriate web service.
    Problem :
    When invoking the web service from Pl/SQL (with the below piece of code) there are multiple times the web servers are been called which is supposed to be only once. The number of times the call varies is about to 2 or 3.
    Query :
    Hence we need to understand in general how the UTL_DBWS works ? Are there any issues when the call being made through the LoadBalancer ?
    The default time out value while connecting ? If we want to override the default timeout how we can do that ?
    Code for reference :
    BEGIN
    l_service := sys.UTL_DBWS.create_service (
    wsdl_document_location => sys.URIFACTORY.getURI(l_wsdl_url),
    service_name => l_service_qname);
    l_call := sys.UTL_DBWS.create_call (
    service_handle => l_service,
    port_name => l_port_qname,
    operation_name => l_operation_qname);
    l_input_params(0) := sys.ANYDATA.ConvertVarchar2(p_dayend_date);
    l_result := sys.UTL_DBWS.invoke (
    call_handle => l_call,
    input_params => l_input_params);
    sys.UTL_DBWS.release_call (call_handle => l_call);
    sys.UTL_DBWS.release_service (service_handle => l_service);
    EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN
    PKG_IRIS_SH.PRC_ins_spm('WEB','9999', 'Web Service', TO_DATE(p_dayend_date ,'DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI:SS') ,'Error Description:' ||SQLERRM , '0');
    End ;
    Can any body advise on this issue.
    thanks,
    Ram
