Server-side flash player version detection

Does anyone know of a method to pull the users flash-player
version number (the entire thing, not just
">6" or "9" but
"9,0,115,0") that does not use browserhawk. We
are building a troubleshooting page for our LMS built on ASP.net,
and do not want to use javascript, or vbscript to pull the version
number. We can use a javascript method if absolutely necessary, but
want to explore any server-side methods we can use first. We don't
want to use browserhawk as it is wholly too expensive for our
purposes.

I have done that temporarily, but we were hoping to do this
without placing a Flash SWF on the page. We are building a
troubleshooting page, and want to keep as many variables out of the
calculations as we can. IE, if Javascript is the issue, then a
Javascript to tell us the Flash version would be a bad idea. If
Flash is the issue, then a flash element would be a bad idea. If we
keep all of the calculations on the server-side, and not on the
client-side, then we know that nothing of the clients is messing
with the information displayed.

  • Flash Player Version Detection

FB3 deploys a Flash or Flex project with AC_OETags.js.  The first line of that file is
// Flash Player Version Detection - Rev 1.6
If you are using FB4 or any product newer than FB3 could you compare the AC_OETags.js file?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jon

    Thats helpful.
    The FB3 app deployment included:
    AC_OETags.js
    history/history.css
    history/history/.js
    history/historyFrame.html
    playerProductInstall.swf
js in the head of the html wrapper
    // in the head
    // Globals ...
    // js in the body
    AC_FL_RunContent() ...
How does the new deployment compare?

  • Prevent Flash player version detection

I have the same single flash movie (scrolling banner) on each
of the 12 pages of my CD based 'website'. When the webpage first
loads the user is prompted to say yes to the message; 'Are you sure
that you want to allow CDs to run active content on your
computer?'. Even when the 'In the future, do not show this
message.' checkbox is ticked I still have to press Yes 18 times
before my page loads. When I navigate to another page the message
appears again and Yes has to be pressed 10 times before the new
page loads. Obviously a microsoft bug that will quickly put off the
    user.
I assume that I only need the code that checks Flash plugin
and version once in my whole website - preferably on my homepage
which is always loaded first (not for each movie on each page. As I
am not sure exactly which code to remove I tried using the Remove
Flash Video Detection option from the Commands menu however it is
grayed out. Does anyone have any idea why this is not enabled or
how I can improve this whole situation so the user is never or only
    once asked re active content.
Should I publish the Flash movie as an older version to avoid
the user having to download the latest version of the Flash plugin,
or will this not prevent the message? As this site is CD based the
user may not be connected to the web.
Using Dreamweaver CS3 and Flash CS3.
    Thanks

I have had to remove this mark of the web line of code as it
does in fact disable all links to my pdfs, as you mentioned.
I am extrememly annoyed with Microsoft over this as it is
very unlikely to ever get unsafe content from a CD compared with
    the web / email.
So I am stuck again with a web interface for my CD content
that is unworkable in that it asks whether the user wants to run
active content 15 times at the start (when CD autoruns) and again
this many times each page change. Even when the little tick box is
checked to no show the message in future it still asks repeatedly.
My site contains 2 flash movies and 42 collapsible panels.
Can anyone please suggest any other methods whereby the user
does not have to change any settings or click many active content
    messages?
    Cheers

  • Detect flash player version of published SWF

Hi I have a swf file (let say child.swf).
Once It loaded I want to know parent swf was published on flash player 9 or flash player 10. How to find that?
    Question:
    1)parent.swf loades child.swf
2)after child.swf loaded --> need to check parent.swf is published on flash player 9 or 10.
3)if parent.swf published on flash player 9 then child.swf will run a function
4)if parent.swf published on flash player 10 then child.swf will run some other function.
On the above for the based on the 2nd point question 3 or 4 will happen.
On the above case I have only one parent... In some other case I may have multiple parents. My question to how to detect top most player's published version?
    Note:
Capabilities.version returns current flash player version which is installed on browser (it is not help my question)
The following link has infomation about As version used on the swf (it is not help my qeuestion)

    Any Idea guys?

  • Command line to detect installed flash player version

    Hi All,
Happy New Year to you all.
I have one desktop application (Flash Director/C++) for which I am developing Windows installer script. I am facing some problem developing the installer script regarding installed Flash Player version. When I am running the script, it is overriding the already installed Flash player irrespective of the version.
Is there any command line (for Windows script) to know the version of the Flash player prior to install the installer contained Flash player so that I can check before pushing the installer Flash player?
I would appreciate your quick reply.
    Thanks in advance.
    Sanjoy.

Can anyone please give some inputs on this query?

  • Server Side Flash Encoding Service

Does anyone have any recommendations for a server side Flash
Video Encoder? I have a large library (1.3TB) of .mov files that I
want to encode into Flash 9 H.264 so I don't think I have a CPU to
handle and I wanted an API. I found
    http://fastencoding.com with an
XML API but I wanted some other recommendations/comments before I
    signed up.

I have done that temporarily, but we were hoping to do this
without placing a Flash SWF on the page. We are building a
troubleshooting page, and want to keep as many variables out of the
calculations as we can. IE, if Javascript is the issue, then a

Flash is the issue, then a flash element would be a bad idea. If we
keep all of the calculations on the server-side, and not on the
client-side, then we know that nothing of the clients is messing
    with the information displayed.

  • Internal update server and flash player 12

We've been using an internal update server and a deployed mms.cfg to point internal client machines to a local webserver hosting Flash Player updates extracted from the background update .cab file, as detailed in the Administration Guide.
This has been working well for Windows & OS X clients.
For Flash Player 12, I've created a "12" folder at the same level as the 11 folder:
    https://servername.domain/pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/12/xml/version.xml
However, clients (that are currently running 11) are looking for:
    https://servername.domain/pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/11/xml/version.xml
So I copied the "12" folder to the "11" folder and manually triggered the scheduled task on a couple of clients and they've grabbed the newer version (except for the plugin-based browser, which haven't updated and are still using 11.9.*).
    My flashinstall.log shows the following:

    My questions:
    1) Is this the expected method for getting version 11 to upgrade to 12 without much intervention?
    2) What's triggering the error codes - the hack-ish way I've forced the update, or something else?
    3) What knock-on effects will the Flash Player version renumbering have on the local webserver deployment method?  And is it documented anywhere?
    Thanks

    Hi Maria,
The rest of the install log is below and it does install the plugin later and the log is clean of errors thereafter.
I created "12" because the previous install guide noted that the folder should be named for the major version and I assumed that guidance still held (though thinking about it you've abandoned that distinction with the recent re-numbering).
    Thanks

  • Adobe Flash Player Version sicher?

    Hallo zusammen,
man liest in letzter Zeit einiges über Sicherheitslücken im Adobe Flash Player:
Adobe Security Bulletin APSB15-01 (Flash Player /Englisch)
    http://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsa15-01.html
Adobe Security Bulletin APSB15-02 (Flash Player Englisch)
    http://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb15-02.html
Heise Security Online Artikel vom 22.01.2015
    http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Flash-Player-deaktivieren-Sicherheits-Update-laesst -kritische-Luecke-offen-2526789.html
    unser System:
    Betriebssystem Clients:   Windows 7
    Betriebssystem Server:   Windows Server 2008
    Adobe Flash Player Version:  14.0.0.125
    Virenschutz: F-Secure Internet Security 11.5

Januar 2015).

  • When I install Flash Player version 10.2.152.32 it shows up in the control panel but only ....

When I install Flash Player version 10.2.152.32, it shows up in the control panel, under Programs and Features but the only thing that shows up is the name and version of the product.  On the right hand side, the size of the program in megabites is supposed to be displayed but it isn't for flash player.  I am using Windows Vista Home Premium and it is a 32 bit operating system and the browser I use is Windows Internet Explorer.  Does anyone know why I could be having problems downloading this?

What is the problem you are having?  Does Flash Player work?  Can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?
Flash Player is a browser add-on, not a standalone program, and most likely therefore does not indicate any program size in the Control Panel.

  • Flash Player version 10 results bad timing of TurboDemo generatred swf file

Our flash educational presentations are working bad in the
latest Flash Player version (10). We made them in TurboDemo, and
generated flash file, which could be run from our website. However
with new flash player the preset timing of page turning does not
work. It waits much longer, than the programmed timing. In earlier
versions everything worked well, but know it's a disaster, which
makes our numerous educational presentation un-enjoyable. The
videos are just waiting for nothing for long seconds from page to
page, which ruins the smooth flow of the presentation.
Can anybody help how can we fix this issue???
    Andras

I doubt there's anything we can do on our side. You'll need
to contact TurboDemo so they can test with their original source
code and try to find the cause.
    http://www.turbodemo.com/eng/index.php
In the meantime you'll probably need to recommend your users
    revert to Flash Player 9.

  • How do I get a user to update to the Flash Player Version to 10.1

I would like to find out if there is a way for a message to pop up on my website if the user has Flash Player version lower than 10.1. If the version 10.1 or higher (in the future) no message should come up. The message should prompt a user to update to the Flash Player version 10.1.
My entire site is in Flash and I am using AS3. So I am guessing I should implement an AS3 code on the first frame of the script layer. Does anyone know what would be this code?

    O.K. I see,
HTML code is automatically generated by Flash program.
I am unable to give you a short answer on this and thus attaching the code I
    see in DreamWeaver:

Your MacBook Air is an Intel-based system. To download the current version (11.2.202.228),  go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and download it from there.
If there is still a Flash issue, you can try the Google Chrome browser, which has the current Flash built into it, to see if it works any differently with the videos. It's available from https://www.google.com/chrome

  • Adobe Flash Player, version 10.1.102.64 installed, but I cannot access FP dependent applications

Adobe Flash Player, version 10.1.102.64 is installed, but I cannot access FP dependent applications (such as those on Facebook.)
I used the link you previously  provided  http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
to  download the FP .exe and it worked for 2 days, but is no longer working and I'm getting the same message for both  Mozilla & IE. The only things I recall doing prior to FP not working again was 1) sign up for G Mail & 2) I used Save As to dwld a number of Images from Google.  I also rolled back my PC a day, but that has not fixed the issue.  I get the error both in IE & Mozilla.
I've reviewed HK Local Machine/Software/Adobe, but there is no file folder for Flash Player under HK  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Adobe {though there are folders for Shockwave, etc.)  Does anyone know the KEYS for Flash  Player, that I could add manually?
    System Information:
    Win XP Home, SP 2
    IE 8.0.6001.18702
    Mozilla 3.6.12
    Flash Player 10.1.102.64
Thanks for any & all help!
    Sidney

Can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?
Does it show some version information under it?
Is Shockwave Flash object enabled in IE and FF?
What files do you have in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash?
Do you know that XP SP2 is no longer a supported OS?
