The most reliable solution would be to remove all spaces from your path before starting the Appservers components.  |#]

The numerous "MQ startup failed" msgs in the server log would indicate tcp/ip socket/port blocking, either by a firewall or another running process that has the port that the App Server is configured to use at startup. Please see the FAQ:

  • MySQL server wont Start

I had all my local setup running and my databases backups and local connections working fine, since i did the last security update my MySQL server wont Start and so all my Localhost or 127.0.0.1. host, on my sites and CocoaMySql, "Reason: internal Error". when starting it from my System preferences.
    Any recomendations?
    thanks indeed!

On the client (where of course you have a version
of mysql) you could have the same problem if you
    upgrade the system.
As far as I know the socket problem never happened in
the client version of the OS (at least I never had it
or read about anyone who had it).
    The problem is know, see:
    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060111113313511&lsrc=osxh
    and at the same link:
"Apple uses the same php module on Client" and it's also true in certain installation of mysql.
the problem regards the location of the file
    mysql.sock.
The problem of the location of mysql.sock, as I said
before, is something that has only been reported on
the server version, although CocoaMySQL (specially
the version) has problems connecting to mySQL 4.1.x.
The problem with Cocoamysql regards the fact that not every user configure the root user and his password.
Make the configuration after the mysql installation often resolve the problem, of course that is not every times the only problem you could have.
    bye

  • Lanman Server Wont Start

My Lanman Server wont start and I get an error: Windows could not start the server service on local computer  error 193: Oxc1
I made sure the path to executable matched that in the registry value, and even tried putting quotation marks around the value as was suggested in another article, but that just gave me a different error.
I'm stumped and completely unable to share any files on the network, particularly the crm database needed by others in my office.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
According to the description about the error message:
    193 (0xC1): %1 is not a valid Win32 application.
Generally speaking, this error message caused by a application installation path error that cause the problem.
To troubleshoot the problem, firstly, you can try to make a clean boot for your system to test if the problem caused by 3rd program or service. Refer to the link below for more details:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Secondly, you can try to use Process Monitor to make a capture when the problem occures, this could help us make a deep troubleshooting with this problem.
    Process Monitor:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
Start Monitor before the problem occures, when this problem occured, stop Process Monitor and check the trace.

  • HELP--- HTTP Server wont start,

I disabled the Webgate protecting port 8080 thats being used by OAM now my HTTP server wont start. Thoughts on getting it started. Here's the Enterprise manager HTTP_Server log entry.
    08/04/10 21:18:53 Start process
    [Thu Apr 10 21:18:57 2008] [debug] mod_oc4j.c(1667): Initializing OC4J connection cache size to 40

    [Thu Apr 10 21:18:57 2008] [debug] www\src\modplsql\sosd\swwwap.c(1279): mod_plsql: plsql_create_server_config called
fopen: No such file or directory
Apache.exe: could not open document config file c:/program
    Thanks!

I believe you have disabled the web gate in the OAM.But when a web gate is installed, it writes to the HTTP server httpd.conf file to as a part of installation and to redirect the requests on that server to the OAM. So Now if you revert back to the original conf file are the edition before the installation of web gate and try to start the same, you should be fine.

  • J2EE on Windows App server wont start after JSPM patching

    Hi,
I've patched an ECC6 system on DB2 V5R4 to SP16 level on ABAP side, and Enhancement pack 3, and then did an update to JSPM and installed new SP16 levels of the Java components.
Now my Windows App server starts only the ABAP Work processes, not the J2EE side. I get a yellow light and the message
    J2EE Status info unavailable.
On the Windows work directory for Dialog instance D00, I see that the dev_server0 has only messages about the last shutdown 2 days ago.
The dev_jcontrol has errors in it abot Unknown property and
JStartupICheckFrameworkPackage: can't find framework package U:\usr\sap\WFD\D00\exe\jvmx.jar
    see below.
    Any ideas?
    regards
    Michael.

    Thanks Kaushal,
I hadn't done any changes to UME, but I have got a JSPM support package (EP-PSERV SP16) in status of ERROR that seems to be at the bottom of the problem.
Apparently, JSPM is not able to cope with any flavour of IBM DB2 (Windows, AIX, or i) at a point in this support package.  There is a note 1156313 and it matches the error which is in the  sdm log file:

Howdy mate, firstly what Operating System have you installed the Application Server on? What version of the Application Server have you deployed...?
If you try to start the domain and it says that its already running then your in good shape, have you then tried:
https://<host>.<domain>:4848 (Note HTTPS) and the HTTP equalevant?
Next, if your running Application Server 7.x, search for a file in your Application Server install called server.xml, in that file you will see a port listed, 4848, search for that, it should say in the line somewhere that its secure or not (HTTPS or not)
In Application Server 8.x and Glassfish (a.k.a Application serer 9.x) its a file called domain.xml
For example in my GlassFish V2 (a.k.a Application Server 9.1), in my domain.xml file I have the following line:
    <http-listener acceptor-threads="1" address="0.0.0.0" blocking-enabled="false" default-virtual-server="__asadmin" enabled="true" family="inet" id="admin-listener" port="4848" security-enabled="false" server-name="" xpowered-by="true"/>
The port is 4848 and security is disabled, so the URL would be http. If "security-enabled" was set to true, I would need to use https.
    I hope this helps,
    Chris

  • Application server wont start

I am testing Lync 2010 Enterprise. We currently use OCS2007 R2.
I have all of the services starting just fine on the Pool servers except for "Lync Server Audio Test Service (RTCATS). I cant seem to figure out why.
    I ran the following command:
    Start-CsWindowsService -Report c:\servicestart.html
    This is the output:
Start-CsWindowsService : Service "Lync Server Audio Test Service (RTCATS)" fail
ed to start within the expected timeframe: System error..

        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Start failed.,Microsoft.Rtc.Management.Deploymen
       t.StartServicesCmdlet
Here is the output from C:\servicestart.html:
Error: Service "Lync Server Audio Test Service (RTCATS)" failed to start within the expected timeframe: System error..
I have 3 front-end servers, and all of them exhibit the same exact error. I have tried re-installing the OCSWMIBC.msi (WMI backwards compatibility - as suggested by another thread), but that doesn't seem to solve it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am having exact same problem when try to start the RTCATS service.
I have tried repair option in ATS.msi. But got the message that repair is not allowed. Uninstall and re-install the msi.
When I try to remove the service, I got first message stating that I have to reboot the server. I got something unexpected - a file in use. You can not uninstall this program.
Note: In my case, this is a production environment with Lync Server 2010 Standard Edition server.
This one is related to it or not, but the problem is associated with the same service. When service was running, I was not getting the following data when executed the Get-CsAudioTestServiceApplication
    PS> Get-CsAudioTestServiceApplication

As you can see the Primary Language is not set. I executed the following cmdlet to add the PrimaryLanguage:
    PS> Get-CsAudioTestServiceApplication | Set-CsAudioTestServiceApplication -PrimaryLanguage "en-US"
Set-CsAudioTestServiceApplication : Specified SIP domain (SipDomain) is not valid. Specify a valid SIP domain and then
    try again.

        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Microsoft.Rtc.Management.AD.ManagementException,Microsoft.Rtc.Management.Xds.SetCsAudioTestServi

There is no sub parameter to specify the SIP domain. The SIP domain is always the same as "Domain.net". The everything else is working fine. Based on following link, I decided to rerstart the service and get in the problem in this thread.
Any pointer would be a great help.

  • Deski report server wont start

    Post Author: AlokS
    CA Forum: Authentication
    Hi friends
I am not able to start the deski report server the error which comes is this The root server reported an error Initialization Failure. (Reason: RCIRAS0222). And also when i try and run to run deski reports the error which comes is this "The procedure entry point?GetLength@BOString@@QBAGXZ could not be located in the dynamic link library tools.dll."

The numerous "MQ startup failed" msgs in the server log would indicate tcp/ip socket/port blocking, either by a firewall or another running process that has the port that the App Server is configured to use at startup. Please see the FAQ:

  • Oracle Express Server wont start after install

    Hi all,
For my sins I have to support an Oracle Express Server and am trying to get the software installed on my Dell latitude d630 laptop, am running XP SP2. When I start the service it fails and writes this to the logs :-
    [AD4     ] 3 05/14/2008 09:11:47 Security Mgr - Logon(Default)User(OESguest) fails - error: 1326.
    [AD4     ] 3 05/14/2008 09:11:47 Security Mgr - GlobalConstructor)() failed.
So looks like it can't login as OESguest. I checked the users and I cant find this user.
    Anyone had this problem ????
    Thanks in advance,
    Brandon

When you install express it creates three users i.e. oesdba, oesinit and oesguest. if it doesnt exists then try to create manually and see if you are able to up the express.
change the password for oesguest at operating system level and check.
    Thanks

  • Services on Virtual Server wont start

    Hi Team,

Compare "DI Labs 1" with "DI Labs 4 VMWare".
As you see, everything has a little bit of an impact, having a virtual network, memory access, CPU overhead. Not much but significant.
So for dev/test no problem at all, in fact we use that inhouse at SAP a lot ourselves. Our entire demo and training environments are using virtual machines. For a prod system I would evaluate if the advantages are big enough compared to the lower throughput.
And actually, I prefer to install the jobserver on the same machine as the target database is located at anyhow.

  • Server wont start up

First day of using the new server, after spending 4 hours trying to use advanced setup, then switching back to standard because nothing worked, I restarted the server and it never came back. It gets to the grey screen with the apple logo, and the little grey line turning around and around in a circle. I tried rebooting and holding shift, but its not even to the point where its loading startup items. It just sits there forever.
    Anyone?

I think you hit the nail on the head with a somewhat exaggeration that "anyone could set up a 10.5 server." They didn't apparently count on meeting me.
Anyhow, yes users were able to log in before. This was not an upgrade, the server is 2 days old. Im not using DNS. The server WAS (read on) OD master in Advanced mode. The problem was that for whatever reason, I guess the computers werent getting correct authorization for anyone to log in. Dont know...
I reinstalled again (that seems to be the best way I solve my problems) and set the server up in Standard configuration. Turned on what services I could, and added the users. I had to go onto each workstation and delete the directory server in the Directory Utility. Following this, each workstation seemed to "see" the server, and configure the applications necessary.
However, and maybe this post has gone on long enough, the entire reason for the server was that we have a small office, handful of users and we wanted this box to be able to have users sit down at their computer, log onto their workstations (which would actually then log them onto the server, with network storage and home directories), to store files in a central location, run backups, install new software (both programs and updates) from a centralized place, and control the user experience (limiting use of some software, directories etc).
Basically the way I have things set up right now, the server runs ichat and ical, hosts files and does time machine, and thats it! Users who log in to their workstations are forced to browse to the server (not automatically mounted), have their home folders on their own computers and lose a lot of the benefits that come in Advanced configuration. However the two times I tried to do Advanced configuration I didnt have much luck.
We were hoping to be able to use Advanced mode, and be able to control all those things, but that never materialized. And I realize that despite my significant computer experience, its not going to happen. I would be nice to have though.
