Service Interfaces in PI 7.0?

Hi Experts,
PI 7.0 has been installed
I just checked the SPROXY transaction in ECC, It shows the service interfaces not message interfaces...
I was getting confused..cos i think service interfaces are only in PI 7.1 and its very different from 7.0
can i have ur thoughts on this?

hi,
>>>So will this service interface change anything?..I guess not cos its just a message interface with multiple operations..pls correct me ?
not exactly
there is one huge change - no more standard proxy methods
check out my blog
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2009/06/20/pixi-abap-proxies-say-goodbye-to-executeasynchronous-method
>>>Also , If down the line they ask for 7.1?...is it a seprate entity all together?.or
the new methods will work with 7.1 with no problem

  • PI 7.1 "stateless" service interfaces prerequisites and limitations

    are there  any prerequisites and limitations for "stateless" Service interfaces.
    We are directly implementing PI 7.1, (i.e not upgrading form 7.0 or 3.0).
    so for all our service interfaces, shall we safely use tne interface pattern "statelss" instead of "Stateless(xi 3.0 compatible)".
    if use the "stateless", are there any addition prerequisites or constraints/limitations.
    can we use abap proxies, java proxies, providing webservices via xi, and consuming other webserivces in xi, all adapters, asynch, synch scenarios with "stateless" interface patterns.
    In short, are there any things that can be done using "Stateless(xi 3.0 compatible)" and cannot be done using  "stateless" interface
    are there any specific requirements for using "Stateless(xi 3.0 compatible)" even in newly implemented PI 7.1
    thanks in advance,
    Madhu.

    When it is an upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1 the default Interface pattern is Stateless (XI 30 Compatible)
    Using Stateless Interface Patterns wont cause any harm/ restriction on any of the development.
    The only twist will be in the way a condition is specified in the Receiver Determination.
    For any Interface pattern (other than Stateless(XI30 Compatible)) you wont be able to see the message structure in the Condition Editor of Receiver Determination. All other functionality (Async, Sync, Proxy) will be available.
    In such a case Condition should be specified as shown in this blog: /people/abhishek.salvi/blog/2009/07/15/sap-pi71-receiver-determination-xpath-and-you

  • Service Interface: How to create an SDO graph with tow Objects

    Hi,
    I want to create a Web service interface on top of my application module. Using the Service Interface I select the app mod, service methods and view objects from the data model. My data model consists of a master detail relationship. The Web service should provide an interface that uses a master and its details as parameters in an operation.
    For example a customer and his credit cards. A GET-Operation should return a data structure that groups all objects.
    I do not know how I can configure such a web service.
    How can I achieve such a web service?
    Do I have to code a service method and what is the return type of the method?
    Can I work with existing VOs?
    Do I need 'special' preconditions like a composition between master and detail?
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Markus

    Hi Scott
    Bad news. I read several time this thread, but I have not found error in my program ... .
    And I can not see what are really doing APIs of APEX.
    Time is going - so we have make a decision now.
    Probably (as I have no more answers at this forum) - we can not use APEX (as nobody using APEX sessions as I asked),
    as we can not manage its sessions programmatically (too risky).
    Thanks for your answer.

  • Service interface not listed in business system in ID.

    Hi Experts,
    In my QA system service interfaces are not listed in business system in ID, i have added product and SWCV in SLD and i am still unable to see the service interfaces of SWCV that i have added. i have done SLD and CPA cache refresh, restarted the QA system but still unable to resolve the issue.
    Please suggest how to resolve this issue.

    Hi Venu,
    i have done SLD and CPA cache refresh, restarted the QA system but still unable to resolve the issue.
    Try if "Compare from SLD" works? This can be accessed by going to ID -> double-click business system -> communication component -> adapter specific identifiers

  • Failure in SDOSerializer.deserialize - Invoking AMImpl's Service Interface

    Hi,
    I have a typical Issue while invoking a Service Interface creation using ADF BC.
    Steps done:
    1. I generated the service interface using AMImpl.
    2. Modified the WSDL to include soap headers.
    <wsdl:input>
    <soap:body use="literal"/>
    *<soap:header message="tns:getTransactionHeader"*
    part="transaction" use="literal"/>
    </wsdl:input>
    <wsdl:output>
    <soap:body use="literal"/>
    *<soap:header message="tns:getTransactionHeader"*
    part="transaction" use="literal"/>
    </wsdl:output>
    3. Modified the Service classes (Service.java and ServiceImpl.java) to include the holders for the soap headers.
    Now the method looks like this in the Service.java class:
    List<SellingDayCalendar> getXYZ(@WebParam(mode = WebParam.Mode.IN,
    name="unitName")
    String unitName, @WebParam(mode = WebParam.Mode.IN, name="salesDate")
    Timestamp salesDate, *@WebParam(name = "transactionHeaderType", mode = WebParam.Mode.INOUT,*
    targetNamespace =
    *"/com/gm/vstar/model/core/common/",*
    header = true, partName = "transaction")
    Holder<TransactionHeaderType> transaction
    ) throws ServiceException;
    4. I have created the POJO class called TransactionHeaderType.java which implements Serializable interface.
    While I run the service by including headers or try to invoke the proxy from my JSF page, I get the following exception:
    Target URL -- http://localhost:7101/MyServicesApplication-MyServicesModel-context-root/MyService

  • MS Word Web Service Interface: bad format of date and currency fields

    Hi,
    I am using MS Word Web Service interface to create contract documents. However, my date and currency fields show in a strange format. Date is in"YYYY-MM-DD" format, while currencies always have "." as decimal separator (probably technical values). My user settings are "DD.MM.YYYY" for dates and "n.nnn,dd" for decimal numbers.
    My workaround is to create a Z structure for WS interface with char fields and then do conversion through CRM_WST_RT_BADI->OUTBOUND_PROCESSING method. This works, but requires a lot of custom development.
    Is there a way to "tell" the interface to use correct formats in MS Word without doing it all manually through custom fields?
    Thanks!
    KR,
    Igor

    Oh, indeed!
    We might be closer than you think - I live close to Croatian-Slovenian border so we might pop out for a drink! But we can discuss this out of forum...
    Now work again:
    Is there any documentation on possible formatting keywords? I suppose it's possible to set up decimal places, custom date formats etc.
    Cheers,

  • External WebService Definitions linked to Service Interface in PI 7.1

    I have a WSDL defining datatypes and services with port locations etc... that I have imported into PI7.1 Enterprise Service Builder.  This defines a service that I would like to use in my Aris models for a SOA example.  However I guess I need to make a "Service Interface" from the "External Definition" but I can not find where to click to do this.  I can not believe this is so hard so I must be clicking in the wrong place.
    So how do I bind in existing Services into my Middleware?
    Thanks in advance,
    Doug

    I found this blog which is basically exactly what I am trying to do.
    RFC -> XI -> WebService - A Complete Walkthrough (Part 1)
    In this article the WSDL is imported but:
    At my first try i used the messages getDistanceRequest and getDistanceResponse in my mapping but later found out that it wasnt the message structure that the webservice expected.
    To get the structure of the relevant request and response messages you can test the webservice with an editor like XML Spy.
    This I understand as the Service interfaces, messages and datatypes need to be manually defined, and can not be read directly out of the WSDL.
    Is this true?
    Thanks,
    Doug

  • Mapping in Services Interface with multiple operation... ?

    Hi ALL,
    I have a SOAP to SOAP scenario here Just PI 7.1 with EHP1 acting a bus no mapping nothing .
    1) I have the WSDL file from the receiver system with multiple synchronous operations  in it ..i imported the wsdl as External Definition .. i used the same the WSDL file to create the sender Service interface also...
    when i created the service interface with the operation in it , i just gave the same operation name from the WSDL.this i followed for the sender and receiver service interface.
    1)now the issue is do i need any operation mapping if the service interface has more than one operation ...?
    2) I compelted the scenario without any operation mapping ..but i am getting this error ..Problem occurred in receiver agreement for sender -ICRM_D to receiver -EXACTTGETWEBSERVICE_D,http://ICRMtoExactTaetWebservice.com.si_os_ICRM_EXACTTETWEBSERVICE: No standard agreement found for , ICRM_D, , EXACTTARGEBSERVICE_D, http://ICRMtoExactarebservice.com, si_os_ICRM_EXACGETWEBSERVICE..?

If an ABAP proxy is to be developed then all the messages included should be of one type i.e. either the included messages should be Message Type, External Message, IDOC or RFC Message. This behavior can be observed when a Service Interface is created and then subjected for a check

    Hi,
    now the interface is running but I get another error in .NET.

  • BPM 1:N split into different service interfaces

    Hi everyone, just a quick question about multimapping scenarios.
    If I want to make a 1:N message split in BPM I should use a transformation step and specify a multiline container element to get the result of the transformation. That multiline container element is bound to a single message type so, If I want to split my incoming interface into different service interfaces (based on different message types), how can I handle that in BPM? Or is it just not possible?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    It is possible to specify more than one container element for the resulting messages of the transformation step
    Its possible.
    In operation mapping in IR if you add 3 interfaces in Target side and the same mapping if you select in BPM transform step then it will ask for three contaner.
    Create 3 contaneir.
    Select type as Abstract Interface.
    Then select individual interface in those containers.

    Hi Gurus,
    we have to publish Endpoint URLs for third party system, which have to send us SOAP Messages via HTTP. For this we need to publish Endpoints (Incoming into PI) for the third Party Systems.

    Once you generate the WSDL in that there will be an SOAP Action url where you can see the endpoint or the target to which message will be sent to...
    only thing you need to provide them apart from WSDL is user credentials.. thats it..
    they need to import the WSDL provided by PI in their application

  • How to add User defined return type in service interface of AppModule

    HI All,
    I am creating service interface using AppModule. Added custom method with Java primitives and working fine. Now i want to added custom method with return type is EMP object means user defined object. How can i do so?
    Thanks in advance.

    I looked it up in the mean time ...
    The docs state that you only can use simple data type or java.util.list or AttributeList (which is a wrapper for any viewRow). So I guess you have to somehow flatten your complex data type or create a custom VO which holds it.
