Service Manager Incidents - Automatically Linked Parent Child

Hi Team
i'm looking for a solution using Orchestrator or using Powershell to be able to validate Incident Title, Search for any existing duplicates and then link them together in a Parent, Child relationship.
once it's Parent/Child engineers can solve parent issue which will auto-close all child incidents.

Hi WS12R2,
Are you looking for such workflow to detect the same incident Title?
Ex:
IR1: can't open Internet
IR2: can't open internet

  • Webi - WEbi Linking / Parent - Child / openDocument

    Hi Gurus,
I am on BOE XI R3.1.
    Datasource is SAP BW query
    CMS: Oracle
In Webi, I have created two different Webi documents (reportA, reportB) on the same universe.
I would like to link these two Webi reports.
What I am looking for is, when I select dimension object "Location" in reportA, it should display the corresponding values for that particular "Location" in reportB.
So, I am trying to use the openDocument functionality here.
In Infoview, I opened reportA in the Webi Edit Mode >  right clicked on the dimension object ("Location") > Hyperlinks > New Hyperlink >
There I am trying to insert this below condition and it has some missing pieces to it:
    http://<Server Name>:<port Number>/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=reportB&sDocType=wid&sOpen=Y&sRefresh=Y&lsM
I am not able to parse the above Hyperlink. Please let me know what do I need to include/change.
    Thank you,
    Dev

Just use a format like this:
    http://<Server Name>:<port Number>/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=reportB&sType=wid&sRefresh=Y
    &lsMObjectName=[test1],[test2]
Here in lsM[ObjectName] parameter [ObjectName] = the object name which you want to send data to ReportB
I can give you a idea of creating hyperlink for jumping another report (Here ReportB)
Just use  a formula like that in any cell:
    ="<a href=http://<Server Name>:<port Number>/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=reportB&sType=wid&sRefresh=Y&lsMObjectName=[test1],[test2]&sWIndow=New> Click here to view </a>
Now from the property select Read cell content as "Hyperlink"...
    thats it......
For more information please see the
    "OpenDocument" artile
Hope you can  get help from this

  • SharePoint 2013 Parent/Child Form

    All,
I am completing some audits on accounts with audit names: AuditA, AuditB
I have a SharePoint list 'AuditPopulation' with the following columns:
    AccountNumber
    AuditName
Then as we are auditing accounts we have audit questions based on the applicable audit. Therefore I have a list called 'AuditQuestions' with the columns:
    QuestionID
    Question
    Answer (Pass/Fail)
    AuditName
I am struggling with how to link to the two lists and create a form (most likely in InfoPath) that will display the list of Questions for AuditA when the user clicks the AccountNumber in the 'AuditPopulation' list.
    Thank you in advance

You can use jQuery and Web Service to achieve this task using SharePoint Designer. Refer to the following post for more information

  • Import Manager - Import Parent Child Relationships

I have a parent child relationship set up in console.
    Kits / Parts.
    Has Required = No
    Has Quantity = No
I am trying to import the data for the relationship links using Import Manager.
The source is a Excel file.
    Item Number <Kits>       Item Number<Parts>
    ACC-123                               ACC-1234
    ACC-123                               ACC-555
I mapped the Item Number Kits and Item Number Parts.
When I import, I am getting the following error
<b>Import failed. Failed to find the aggregation record from its field values.
    Source record no: 1</b>
I am able to import the same record using Data Manager if the file format is Text.
    Any help is appreciated.
Helpful answers will be duly rewarded

The key field that you use to load the relationship must be defined as:
    Unique................Yes
    Display...............Yes
    Multilingual..........No
My problem was that I had defined Model Number as multiligual. When I changed this setting and loaded with Update Indices the load worked.
I have not found anywhere in the literature that talks about this restriction. You can create the relationship in the Console. You can load this type of relationship in Data Manager. You can not however load them in Import Manager.

How to link parent and child relation in Metapedia

    Vamsi,
Did you every determine how to do what you were asking about? Where you thinking of how to link a parent term to a child term (i.e. like a related term) or was this about linking a term to a different metadata object (e.g. table or report) ?

  • Parent / Child lead management

Does anyone have experience using parent/child relationships with leads in SalesForce? I am currently looking into setting this up for our organization to answer the need for multiple business units to be able to work/manage their leads while maintaining a unified view of all the interactions with the lead.

Shane, not sure if you've solved this yet, but I see this use case quite often. The most scalable solution, while not the simplest, is to leverage apex triggers in SFDC to control the creation of children leads based on whatever your child-lead-creation criteria are.  Visualforce can be used to then display and share activity across all related ( connected ) Leads as a related list, and child Leads can be worked independently by sales reps.
    Here's the general scenario:
    1. Prospect A submits a form indicating interest in product A.
    2. Eloqua creates a PARENT LEAD in SFDC because this person does not already exist.  The Lead ID is stored in the Eloqua contact field called Parent Lead ID.
    3. Your Apex Trigger creates a CHILD LEAD, associated to the Parent Lead via Reference, based on product A.
    4. Prospect A submits a form next week indicating interest in B
    5. Eloqua updates the PARENT LEAD with product B (almost like it would with Lead Source - Most Recent).
    6. The trigger evaluates that a CHILD LEAD does not exist with product B and creates one, associated to the Parent Lead via Reference, based on product B.
Your PARENT LEAD now has two children, one for product A and one for product B, which can be worked independently by sales reps, with the PARENT always remaining in place.
There's additional logic that needs to be incorporated into the trigger so that updates to the parent can be propagated to the correct child, as well as the need for a custom object in Eloqua to maintain the relationship between the Parent Lead and its Children.

  • I give up - how are parent/child .chm links maintained?

I've been following the letter of the law (help) for three versions now - RH6, RH7, and now RH8 - and I give up.
What is the magical mystery proper way of maintaining parent/child .chm links in RH8???
Current issue: Since converting projects to RH8, when searching in Help the "Location" display for results reverted to older project names - e.g. "Product08" instead of just "Product", or "Installing Product" instead of "Product Install". I finally tracked this down to the Project Settings, which apparently retains the original name of the project file even after the actual project files and .chms were renamed.
The issue is that after updating these settings, recompiling the child projects and then the parent project, the changes are not showing up, and it seems like 4-5 times a year I have to fight RoboHelp to properly show children projects - I'm constantly encountering missing links, failure to display updated content, doubled search results, empty Index files, etc etc etc. Always seemingly triggered by one simple change here or there, without rhyme or reason. I have followed the RH help file instructions for four years now, and I give up pretending that the current system is working on our end.
So, please, someone, in a dumbed down spelled out Idiots Guide for Dummy Tech Writers for RH8, step by excruciating step, how in the (world) do I maintain such links whenever I make a change in a child .chm? Based on earlier advice, our parent child is pretty much barebones and serves mostly as a shell with links to the children, where all the actual content is held. IE our parent rarely needs updating to its own content, usually once a year for the copyright notice we put on the main title page.

Maintaining Manually Edited [MERGE FILES] section of your HHP files.
Important: Although we’ve repeated this procedure successfully, it has not yet been fully put through the hoops by all our authors.  This is still in a test-bed cycle, and we are refining the procedure. This is only a suggestion for anyone who wants to try it.  You should absolutely back up your projects first. Any testing of this procedure must be on a copy. Please use these suggested steps at your own risk.
    Good luck!
    Karen
Perform the following procedure for each help project in your RoboHelp V9 merged help system.
    1.       Delete the help project’s CPD file.
    2.       Using Notepad, remove the [MERGE FILES] section from the project’s HHP file.
    3.       Using Notepad, remove all <file> entries from the <mergedhelpfiles> section in the project’s XPJ.
    4.       Double-click the XPJ file to load the project into RoboHelp 9.
    5.       In the TOC pod, add all CHMs that are part of the merged help system, as follows:
    a.       Copy all CHMs—except the master (parent) project—into the project’s folder.
    b.      In RoboHelp, click the New Merged Project button.
    c.       In the Merged Project dialog box, select one of the CHM files, and make sure that its matching HHC file is also selected.
    d.      Repeat steps a through c for each CHM file you copied into the project.
    6.       Save the project, and generate the HTML help.
    7.       From the TOC pod, remove the CHMs you just added. (Do not remove the actual CHM files from the project’s folder.)
    8.       Save and generate the HTML help. The [MERGE FILES] section of your project’s HHP file should now contain only the names of the merged CHM files, not the hard-coded paths.

Step-By-Step guides/links to implement Service Manager

Can you provide step by step instructions to build a model of my house?
i'm not being flippant or joking, the problem is really down to building a model of your IT Department in Service Manager. There is no step by step guide to model your businesses unique processes and procedures.
If you want to stand up an environment, so you can get familiar with the product and start modeling your environment, then you might want to start with some of the
Test Lab Guides, or contact a consulting company who can help you plan and architect your service book, delivery model and finally your SCSM environment. FULL DISCLOSURE: I am

  • Saving Existing Linked Reports / Favorites before reinstalling Service Manager DW

Is there a mechanism to save existing linked reports and favorite reports before unregistering the DW, deleting the current DW databases and then doing a reinstall of the DW with new databases.  In a lab environment, I had kept the ReportServer db
and deleted the dw ones but all the reports disappeared.
    O.

you're best bet here is to
look to SSRS practices, since this behavior is entirely SQL report server and has nothing unique for Service Manager
Don't think that's all that is needed since I reused the original report server database when doing my reinstall.  Also after uninstalling the DW all the System Center SSRS folders got removed, even though I still had the SSRS database in place.

  • Service Manager 2012 R2 UR2 crashes (occasionally) on clicking the refresh bar

    Hello all,
    Hoping someone can help/advise please?
We have a sporadic issue where SCSM 2012 R2 UR client console crashes when the Refresh View bar (seen at the top of a list of Incidents when something is updated relating to that list)
is clicked to refresh a view list of Incidents. We see the issue approximately once a day per analyst, however it doesn't occur every time we click the refresh bar.
So far we have had five of our analysts see this issue, they are people who use SCSM
    continuously throughout the day.
Note: We are also using the Advanced View Editor from SCSMSolutions Support, but are not sure if
this is linked and the issue didn't exist before upgrading from SCSM 2012 SP1 which we carried out recently.
Directly below is the Error message seen at the time of the crash, and below that is the Event log associated to the issue. We see no other related event logs.
    Many thanks for any help!

Whether its possible to transfer the characteristics values of the batch from parent materia (MOM Materials)l to Child Materials
Edited by: Mayank MEHROTRA on Jul 30, 2010 2:19 PM

    Hi Mayank,
We had the same issue in one project. What we did, we develped a z- transaction and program for that.
We had child batches, for eg, 1234561,1234562,1234563,1234564. here the mother batch is 123456. so we recorded value for this mother batch in MSC1N. In developed z transaction, we had a field called "mother batch" and next two fields as "from child batch" and "to child batch". So make entry in these fields and execute. Data will be populated automatically.
Sit with a good ABAPer, he will be able to develop the same.

    Hey JJ,
The purpose of these attributes is for parent-child hierachy relationship.
In addition to above mentioned attributes, you should also notice (via HANA studio), that another Planning object gets generated automatically.  The new planning object should be the name of your parent-child object plus "_ANC" prefix at the end.
If you take a look at this planning object, you will notice that the object contains all the generated attributes (your attriubute plus "A" prefix at the end) in the definition.
Once you load data into your parent-child hiearchy object the "_ANC" object will automatically get populated with parent-child node relationship.
"A-prefix" attriubutes essentially represents the attributes of ancestor in this case.
In addition, in order to do Ancestor rolllup in your calculation you will also need to create an ancestor planning level which contains all the attriubutes of your base planning level as well as these "A-Prefix" attributes.
Please take a look at the document we created for "How to configure Parent-Child Hiearchy" from the share link
    It has more detailed information.
    Thanks.
    Daniel.
