Service MBean with callback Method?

Hi,
I have an application written for JBoss AppServer. There is a ManagedBean that extends a JBoss specific class org.jboss.system.ServiceMBean. This class provides a callback Method "startService()" wich is called by JMX.
I now want to migrate to WebLogic 10. My question is (as I am not deep into MBeans) is there something similar in WebLogic? Is there an interface provided to achieve a service-like behavior like I mentioned? How can this be done?!
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Callback functions are more performant. Event listeners allow for a higher degree of decoupling in some cases, because you often don't need to know where the thing is you're listening to and the thing dispatching the event doesn't need to know or care who, if anyone, is listening. And as soon as you need for more than one thing to listen, callbacks get more complex (see AS3 Signals).
With either callbacks or event listeners, keep in mind you are handing a reference to the listening object to the dispatching object. Make sure to clean everything up when the listening object is no longer in use, or you can wind up with memory leaks.

    I have two web service operations that have the same complex type as their input
    parameter. I want to map this type to an existing schema. I can successfully
    do this with the first operation using XQuery but when I attempt to do this with
    the second operation I get the following error:

  • Use web service with overloaded method

    Hi all,
    Does anyone knows how can I use (e.g in VC or GP) a web service with overloaded methods?
    When I try to use one, I get the following error message:

  • Multiple web services or one with many methods? when are threads created?

    Hey guys,
    I was just wondering how do you implement your web services - if you create one wsdl location with many methods (meaning one @WebService and lots of @WebMethod), or leave one class for each method, having many wsdl locations.
    A follow-up question would be: does each web service call create a thread, even if it's different calls to the same web service?
    Thanks for answering.

    Hi,
    pure from a coder instinct I think I would prefer them to be in separate projects for better reuse and clean separation. If I need project 1 to access aclass from Project 2, I can check the dependency check box in the project properties. Is there any business requirement that makes you think having all of these in a single project will help ?

    Btw.: I agree that JDeveloper shouldn't constraint developers from doing what they want and if this is a limitation the feel free to file a bug

  • Service Desk with SLA: item data not automatic

    Hello all.
    I'm trying to setup service desck with contract determination for monitoring SLA (SolMan 7.0 SP 15)
    Everything works well, except for item/product determination. I mean, when i check a  support message creatde in a satellite system, organizational data are ok, but item's data are blank. Well, i put manually my own product in Item, quantity, press Enter and... that's all: contract data are correctly fullfilled, SLA schema ok, no errors at all.
    I'm sure that i missed some basic configuration, but i don't know where... Maybe in the Action Profile of the ABA message? Or in the Item category determination?
    Help me!

    Hi Michele
    Go to SPPFCADM > Select Application DNO_NOTIF >> Define Action Profile and Actions >> Action Profile - SLFN0001_STANDARD_DNO >> Action  - SLFN0001_STANDARD_DNO_CRM >> Select the processing type Method Call and choose 'change'icon in Method call settings >>
    In the container editor , Choose create >>  Maintain Element, Name & Description - maintain as ITEM_PRODUCT_ID, Choose ABAP Dict. Reference , Maintain values - Structure CRMD_ORDERADM_I, Field ORDERED_PROD, choose tab - intial value, enter the product code (Ex.SUPPORT)
    enter and save.
    This setting will ensure you to determine the product id in the Support message automatically, during your message creation process.

    Thank you for your answer.
    But: I already read this article. And it doesn't help me.
    I use the following code:
                getMyServiceClient1().setUsername(inUserName);
                getMyServiceClient1().setPassword(inPassword);With this code I always get a java.lang.NullPointerException.
    The methods setUsername and setPassword are definded as follows:
    public void setUsername(String inUserName) {
            myStub._setProperty(Stub.USERNAME_PROPERTY, inUserName);
      public void setPassword(String inPassword) {

  • WebService with multiple methods

    Hello to everybody.
    I need an help with the develop of a WebService that it comes with 2 methods: I have already created a lot of WebService in JCAPS6 with only one method and everything was gone well. I tried to implement a WebService with 2 or more method but when I tried to deploy the project I always received this error message: "Deploying application in domain failed; Deployment descriptor file META-INF/application.xml in archive [nameOfArchive]. Duplicate unique value [element] declared for identity constraint of element "application"."
    Theese are the steps that I have done:
    1) create an XSD for Input message
    2) create an XSD for Output message
    3) create a WebServiceDefinition with 2 methods "Method1" and "Method2" and all message (input/output) implemented
    4) create a BusinessProcess (bp1) to implement Method1 operation
    5) create a BusinessProcess (bp2) to implement Method2 operation
    6) create a Connectivity map whith "bp1" and "bp2" directly connected with a new "Web Service External Application"
    7) create a deployment profile
    The "Build" operation was gone well but the "Deploy" operation always returned me an exception.
    What can I do to develop this type of WebService?
    Anyone can help me?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Marco Tranquillin

    My collegue found a solution:
    1) create WSDL with 2 or more operations (with input,output and fault messages);
    2) drag & drop "Event Based Decision" element into Business Process;
    3) link "Start" to "Event based decision";
    4) link "Event based decision.end" to "End";
    5) link a scope (with inside what you want) with "Event based decision";
    6) choose your operation from WSDL and drag & drop it OVER the icon with the mail icon;
    7) link operation.reply with the output scope and with the element "Event Based Decision.end";

  • Using Data Services WSDL with Visual Studio 2008

    I am attempting to use the Data Services XI 3.1 WSDL (I think this Data Integrator v 12.1) in Visual Studio 2008 and I am having some difficulty.
    I am getting the wsdl from the following location: http://devserver:28080/DataServices/servlet/webservices?ver2.0&wsdlxml
    When I attempt to add the web reference to a project all look fine, I see a display of all the methods and their parameter description, etc. but when the add is complete it appears to be unusable. Attempting to instanciate the web service and call the methods results in unreconizable data types. The web service does not show up in Intellisense as a reconizable class, etc.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    try adding a "Service Reference..."
    In the add Service Reference panel, click Advanced and then select Add Web Reference.  Enter the url to the WSDL and see if this works.
    If this continues to fail, try replacing 2.0 with 1.1 on your URL
    ie:   /webservices?ver1.1&wsdlxml
    if that still fails, past the URL in a browser and see if there are any error messages in the <documentation> tags.
    if you are still having issues, try posting to:

  • Issue with addPartialTarget method (Pop-up window)

    Hi, I am facing an issue with addPartialTarget method (pop-up window case). Please refer the thread Re: popup dialog problem
    If we are using addPartialTarget method, should the managed bean be in session scope? I've set it is in request scope. It works fine with 1 user. • ADF BC Web Service - authenticate with JSESSIONID

    Hi!
    I create ADF Fusion Application Web project. I add a jspx page to ViewController project called "welcome.jspx" and secure Application with HTTP Basic authentication. Now in ViewController page I add POJO class and create webservice from it. Now I run the project and I can access welcome.jspx page only if I provide correct username and password. Now in ViewController project i choose Test WebService on WSDL. If i send test request, I get 403 unathorized. If I add JSESSIONID cookie in the request header, I can access webservice.
    Now in Model project I create simple entity, view on top of it and add to the ApplicationModule. Now in ApplicationModule I create web service from it (Service interface) with method getByKey. I deploy whole application. If I select Test Webservice on the ApplicationModule's generated WSDL I can access webservice without providing securityCredentials. I can access it without providing JSESSIONID cookie (note the difference to the ViewController project). I know that ViewController project and Model have different ContextRoot and I speculate that why it goes (I know that two projects (Model, ViewController) cannot have the same Security Context). In created ApplicationModule I override prepareSession method and monitor who is logged in when executing ADF BC WebService. If I do not provide JSESSIONID cookie the logged "user" in is anonymous, If do provide it, I am logged in as user for which that JSESSIONID is created.
    I know I can secure webservice by attaching security policy, such as oracle/wss_usernamename.* (Soap:Header requires username/password) or oracle/http_token policy and if I do so, I must provide security credentials everytime - I do not like that. I would like to achieve that if I provide JSESSIONID cookie I am authenticated, if do not provide it, I receive 403 unauthorized - the same behaviour as is in the ViewController Dummy webservice.
    So is it possible to add second context root or something like that to the ApplicationSecurity (jazn*.xml files or something like that) to enforce the same security for Model part?
    Perhaps I should explain what I am doing:
    - we have ADF model with service enabled ApplicationModules (web services based on application modules) and now we are building clients to consume them. We have created simple LoginPage (in ViewCOntroller project) where we obtain JSESSIONID cookie. Now we want to contanct websercie with JSESSIONID cookie and weblogic must recognize us, but in case JSESSIONID cookie is not present, invalid - a 401 unauthorized should ne returned.
    Can you provide some hints how to work on?

    That's the end goal, but I haven't gotten that far.  I'm using the 11.1.1.7 versions of ADF JDeveloper and the BPM suite.  I'm attempting to consume an ADF BC web service from my BPM process using the Composer tool, but I first need to figure out how to publish/register the ADF BC web service with the BPM so that I can reference the ADF BC web service in the implementation of the BPM Service Task as a Service Call.  I thought I could register the ADF BC web service with the BPM using the BPM business catalog but when I attempt to add a new service and give it the WSDL generated from JDeveloper I get this error:
    BPM-71536: BCModelsService.wsdl has a dependency to BCModelsService.xsd that cannot be resolved.

  • Call a service twice with different values

    Hi,
    I have two DropDownBoxes I want to fill with the service Helpvalues.GetList with different values. So I call the service in the init method. But then the second call overwrites the first call.
    I thought about adding my own value attributes in my view but I get an error when I assign a ComplexType to the attributes.
    Thank you
    Julia

    Hi Julia,
    I think your DropDownboxes referring to same context.That is why your second call over writes the first one.
    use 2 local context nodes ,fill them seperately from your service calls.
