ServletException

I am having these errors whenever I tried to up my webapp. The operating system that I used is UNIX/SOLARIS.
jakarta-tomcat-4.0.4
j2re-1_3_1_05-solaris-sparc
j2sdk-1_3_1_05-solaris-sparc
output:
javax.servlet.ServletException: Error allocating a servlet instance
root cause:
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:
(Unsupported major.minor version 47.0)
Help please... :)

but i already have the jdk1.3 version.... Make sure that you don't have any of the traces of jdk1.2. There may be 1.2's JRE still in your machine. You can edit registry to check this out.
Did you uninstall 1.2's jre too?

    I am not able to figure out the root cause for this. The service.xml file looks like below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    <beans xmlns="http://xfire.codehaus.org/config/1.0">

    </service>
    </beans>
    <!-- END Service.xml-->
    The issue which i am facing is it due to the problem with the service.xml (Which i dont think so..), Or is it any thing to do with the XSD file which i am using.
    Can any body give me some guide lines for this ????
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Any one any thoughts..
    I need to find out the solution for this as soon as possible; Not able to proceed further...

  • ServletException When Deploying Web Service Application to WL 10.3.1

    I'm attempting to deploy a web service application to WebLogic 10.3.1 built using the ANT jwsc task. The majority of the build is being done by Maven to produce and EAR file which contains the web service application WAR file, but I'm using ANT for the jwsc task due to classpath issues in Maven. Here is my task definition from by ANT build script:
    <jwsc srcdir="src" destdir="${basedir}/target"
    classpathref="weblogic.jar.classpath" verbose="on" debug="on"
    keepgenerated="yes">
    <module contextpath="testapp" name="TestWSApp" explode="true">
    <jws type="JAXWS" file="test/src/TestWSImpl.java"/>
    <descriptor file="${basedir}/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/web.xml"/>
    <descriptor file="${basedir}/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/weblogic.xml"/>
    </module>
    </jwsc>
    When the process completes, within the WAR file is the web.xml, which has been modified by the jwsc process to contain a servlet definition and mapping:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>TestWSAppServlethttp</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>test.src.TestWSImpl</servlet-class>
    <load-on-startup>0</load-on-startup>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>TestWSAppServlethttp</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/TestWSAppServlethttp</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    The problem comes when I try to deploy to WebLogic. The deployment fails and I get errors. The stack track is really long, but here is the main problem:
    weblogic.application.ModuleException: [HTTP:101216]Servlet: "DataIntegrityServiceServlethttp" failed to preload on startup in Web application: "/testapp".
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Servlet class: 'test.src.TestWSImpl' does not implement javax.servlet.Servlet
         at weblogic.servlet.internal.StubSecurityHelper$ServletInitAction.run(StubSecurityHelper.java:276)
         at weblogic.security.acl.internal.AuthenticatedSubject.doAs(AuthenticatedSubject.java:321)
    This error actaully makes sense if I was trying to deploy a servlet and not a web service class. If I manually remove the <load-on-startup>0</load-on-startup> element from the web.xml, then this deploys fine. I've tried to define the servlet in the web.xml permenantly, but jwsc throws an error saying the context is already in use.
    So what I need to do is either have jwsc skip the modification of the web.xml or just not have it create the <load-on-startup>0</load-on-startup> element. Any ideas?

    Nevermind, I figured it out.
    I had to change the name of my JWS class (the one that implements the web service methods) and then it worked fine.
    Thanks to all who responded.

    I am getting this javax.servlet.ServletException & java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    exceptions while running jsp in .netbeans.
    Iwas able to compile and run jsp pgms , but i am getting this error when i use jsp:useBean.I think the java class created is not in the proper path..netbeans is using tomcat server.The ide put the jsp's in the proper path. but it is not putting the java class i created with setter and getter methods.I also set the classpath. but din't work
    I t is eating up my time!Pl. suggest me a solution!
    Directory structure is :source file
    c:/windows/.netbeans/3.5/samples/jsp
    I guess the ide is putting all the class files(jsp) in
    C:\WINDOWS\.netbeans\3.5\tomcat406_base\work\Tomcat-Internal\localhost\C_3A_5CWINDOWS_5C.netbeans_5C3.5_5Csampledir\JSP
    so i copied the userData.class from source dir to the above directory.
    and i also did the
    set CLASSPATH= C:\WINDOWS\.netbeans\3.5\tomcat406_base\work\Tomcat-Internal\localhost\C_3A_5CWINDOWS_5C.netbeans_5C3.5_5Csampledir\JSP
    in dos prompt
    pl. find the code below.

    When starting Tomcat, I included into startup.bat:

    Hi
    The message java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer is caused by network problem or even forced closure of IE browser.
    This should not affect functionality and is harmless.
    If the page process is too long, the user closed the browser or the user reloaded the page, this error could happen. Reloading a page or closing the browser is very common, and so we should not log this message.
    BEA has a known issue CR219602 where we catch the SocketException and ignore the logging in the doEndTag() method.
    If this error message is annonying please contact BEA Support to get a patch.
    Thanks

  • Javax.servlet.ServletException: java.io.FileNotFoundException. How to catch when user

    How to catch when user enters a bogus jsp page. I have login.jsp. If someon enter log.jsp i get javax.servlet.ServletException: java.io.FileNotFoundException and then the whole path is shown. This onlyhappens with 9ias. When i was using http server that came with 9i database, i was able to catch this with send_error=true in zone.properties. It doesnt work with 9ias. How is everyone catching these errors? I cant seem to find out how to do it.
    Thanks

    Anyone have any suggestions on this? I take it noone catches this..

  • Javax.servlet.ServletException: Cannot create bean of class

    People,
    HELP!! I am getting desperate!!!
    I am a newbie when it comes to TOMCAT, but i have been using Blazix before.
    My current system is using APACHE/TOMCAT on a Solaris machine and I keep hitting the same problem. I have gone through the archives but the only thing it states is to check the directory which i have done.
    I keep getting:
    Error 500
    Internal Error
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Cannot create bean of class MyClass
    The code used to work on the Blazix server so i am assuming it is something to do with a config parameter somewhere - but i do not know where. I have checked the directory/package structure and they seem to work. It even serves it when they are html pages not jsp, but obviously wont use the bean. :(
    I can post code if necessary.
    Please help
    Steve

    The FormData.class file is in examples/WEB-INF/classes/ directory.
    Is this wrong? then should it be in a package called examples.steve???

  • JSF newbie question - ServletException - Method not found

    I just started learning JSF (and JSP) by following the tutorial:
    JSF for nonbelievers: Clearing the FUD about JSF
    http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/library/j-jsf1/
    I'm getting a ServletException and I'm not sure why. Instead of starting the tutorial over, I'd like to learn what I'm doing wrong.
    The exception is:
    exception
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Method not found: [email protected]()
    root cause
    javax.el.MethodNotFoundException: Method not found: [email protected]()In the calculator.jsp page (a simple page with two form fields), I noticed that when I type CalcBean., my IDE (NetBeans) only autocompletes the class variables and neither of the methods (add and multiply). I quickly searched and someone suggested restarting the server. This did not fix my problem. I must be doing something completely wrong or I missed something in the tutorial. If you don't mind, please read the simple files below and see if you can spot anything wrong. Please keep in mind this is my first time using JSF (and JSP for that matter). If you can suggest a better newbie tutorial, please do! Thanks

    In the future, please add some line breaks so I don't have to scroll horizontally to read your post.
    The problem is that the CalcBean.add/.multiply method is requiring two parameters. This method should be parameter-less. When talking about action methods, they should return String and not take any parameters.
    So, remove the parameters. You collect a firstNumber and a secondNumber from the user. These are the numbers you want to add (or multiply). Use those values (instead of the parameters) to calculate the result.
    The code changes aren't too complicated. I'd write them out for you, but you seem interested in learning (which is great by the way!). Let me know if you need more help on this.
    CowKing
    ps - I see more problems with the code, and I haven't given you all the answers. I know, I'm mean. You'll learn better if you try to fix things on your own first. I've just given you enough info to overcome the immediate issue. =)

  • [ServletException in:VIView1_Browse.do] Response has already been committed

    Hi,
    I have a JSP-Struts application. By the default generation, JDeveloper build a main.html Page. This page have many Frames and one Frame is "navFrame". On this frame I have a link for a JSP Page : Browse. The call is OK. No Problems.
    No I have another Page with Tiles :
    <template:insert page="IMDLayout.jsp" flush="true">
    <template:put name="title" value="Invoices Interface" />
    <template:put name="header" value="/tiles/common/header.jsp" />
    <template:put name="footer" value="/tiles/common/footer.jsp" />
    <template:put name="menu" value="/tiles/common/menu.jsp" />
    <template:put name="body" value="VInvoiceUsersView1_Browse.do" />
    </template:insert>
    The "body" Tiles call the same JSP Page as the link on the "navFrame", but now I have the following error :
    [ServletException in:VInvoiceUsersView1_Browse.do] Response has already been committed'
    Why ?
    Please help me, I need a solution. Does somebody use BC4J/Struts/Tiles ? Any Experience ? Problem ?
    Thanks
    Yves

    This is a somewhat common problem for people who are using Struts and frames.
    What I have found to work was to create an action which calls the page (say index.jsp) which then sets up the frames or tiles..

  • ServletException - Failure to deploy "action" to preload on startup

    I am getting a number of exceptions when attempting to deploy my portal

    find out what it is. If i create a brand new portal application with a
    new web app in it i get the same problem. I am sure its classpath

    Found yet another thing. If starting with bridge "off", the bridge won't start until I ALSO redeploy the "jms-xa-adp". Very strange as well...must be a WLS bug. Since the adapter works, even when clicking "test". But bridge won't start until redeploy of the adapter.
