  • Define session parameter for a user

    Hi,
    in 10g R2, can we set a session parameter for a user definitely ?
    I mean to avoid running the following command line at the begining of each session :
    alter session his_parameter=somevalue;
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    The only way I know to do this is to create a logon trigger that execute the "alter session" command.

    When i checked the parameter file i can see the value assigned to the $DBConnection_OLAP. The same tasks ran successfully when i ran the ETL process for Complete 11.5.10 for the first time. I did not change anything after that and also all these are came built-in with the installation of Oracle BI Applications.
    Please anyone give me an idea what is causing the problem.
    Thanks,

    in DAC > Run History > Task Details, query
    Name = SDE_ORA_Product_Category_Temporary
    Open Status Description, look for string -lpf, the file after it is the actual parameter file DAC send to INFA server. E.g
    -lpf D:\DACTOPUS\Informatica\parameters\SDE_ORAR12_Adaptor.SDE_ORA_Product_Category_Temporary.txt
    Open the parameter file, most likely the [session_name] does not match with SDE_ORA_Product_Category_Derive_Full or some parameters are missing.

  • How set and get parameter for a session of a portlet (Java)

    I would like get parameter and set parameter for a portlet in portal 9.02. This parameter must be availbale during the session of the portal.
    With Java Servlet
    // I retrieve my session
    HttpServletRequest httpreq = (HttpServletRequest)req;
    HttpServletResponse httpresp = (HttpServletResponse)resp;
    HttpSession session = httpreq.getSession();
    //And after i can get or set some parameter for this servlet
    //Example
    session.setAttribute("MyEmployeeNumber","600000");
    String id = (String)session.getAttribute("MyEmployeeNumber");
    // But with Portlet in portal, i can't do it.
    PortletRenderRequest pr= (PortletRenderRequest)httpreq.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    String sUser=pr.getUser().getName();
    ProviderSession session=pr.getSession();
    // But after if i want get or set a value in this session i have a internal error 500
    session.setAttribute("MyEmployeeNumber","600000");
    I would like my parameter is avalaible during a session for a user in each page of the portal, because my portlet is on each page.

    I have almost the same problem. I tried as you suggested, but it doesn't work yet.
    provider.xml
    <session>true</session>
    <passAllUrlParams>true</passAllUrlParams>
    My code in my jsp-portlet is
    <%@page contentType="text/html; charset=windows-1252"
    import="oracle.portal.provider.v2.render.PortletRenderRequest"
    import="oracle.portal.provider.v2.render.PortletRendererUtil"
    import="oracle.portal.provider.v2.http.HttpCommonConstants"
    import="oracle.portal.provider.v2.ParameterDefinition"
    import="oracle.portal.provider.v2.render.http.HttpPortletRendererUtil"
    %>
    <%@page session="true"%>
    <%
    PortletRenderRequest pReq = (PortletRenderRequest)request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    String valueSession = (String)pReq.getAttribute("sesion");
    if (valueSession != null) {
    pReq.setAttribute("session", "value1");
    out.println("<br>(1)valueSession != null");
    out.println("<br>(1)valueSession : " + pReq.getAttribute("session"));
    } else {
    pReq.setAttribute("session", "value2");
    out.println("<br>(2)valueSession == null");
    out.println("<br>(2)valueSession : " + pReq.getAttribute("session"));
    %>
    And i always get as result:
    (2)valueSession == null
    (2)valueSession : value2
    Even when i send values (post) at the same page or browsing between tabs:
    I check my provider registration and it has the value "once per session"
    I have portal 9.0.2.2.14

  • Syntax for getting Exporting parameter value

    Hello All,
    This is the syntax i am using for getting the table parameter data.
    dataProvider="{foundationService.
                   lastResult.root.BAPI_FLIGHT_GETLIST.EMPLOYEENUMBER.item}">
    Can you tell me how to get the exporting parameter value in the widget.Is the syntax same for the exporting also or do i need to change anything.Can anybody please help me out.I will reward you with points
    Thanks,
    Karan

    Karan,
    this bapi EMPLOYEENUMBER is export parameter and it can return only one value no need to give item. if it is multiple values then we can use .item. you can find the changes below code.
    dataProvider="{foundationService.
    lastResult.root.BAPI_FLIGHT_GETLIST.EMPLOYEENUMBER}">
    rewards for good answers.
    Thanks,

  • Change a string parameter for different session

    Hi Gurus,
    I would like to find out how can I change a string parameter for an existing different session?
    In DBMS_SYSTEM package there are two functions :
    - SET_INT_PARAM_IN_SESSION
    - SET_BOOL_PARAM_IN_SESSION
    which change values of parameters, but not string ones :(
    Is it possible and if not, is there an alternative for changing STATISTICS_LEVEL for different session to ALL?
    Thank you in advance,
    Ela

    Hi,
    >>Once again: how to change a string parameter for a DIFFERENT session?
    Once again I will repeat if I was not clear before: You cannot to do this. Just directly using ALTER SESSION against the session.
    * SET_INT_PARAM_IN_SESSION: Sets[u] integer-type init.ora parameters in any session
    * SET_BOOL_PARAM_IN_SESSION: Sets boolean-type init.ora parameters in any session
    Cheers

  • Trigger substitution rule for a background job

    Hi all,
    I ve written a subroutine in Substitution rules for FI in GGB1 tcode for F110 transaction to replace the section code (bseg-secco) while posting a fi document.
    but the substitution rule is not getting triggered as F110 runs a background job to post the document...
    The substitution is active and the activation level is active all the time.
    Could u please suggest how to get it triggered for a background job...

    Measuring External Processes
    Use
    The runtime analysis allows you to switch into work processes that are already running and to measure the runtime of dialogs running in them as though they were running in the current session. You can have up to ten external sessions, which may be of any type – for example, dialog, update, or spool. This runtime analysis variant is ideal for monitoring long-running background jobs.
    Filename and Directory
    If you do not want to use the default filename and directory to store files, you can change them using the profile parameter abap/atrapath. If the profile parameter does not contain an entry at all, an error occurs when you start the runtime analysis.

  • Configuring profile parameter for a table lock object

    Hi Experts-
      I want to set the 'wait time' (_WAIT) parameter as a profile parameter for a table lock object.
      I have created a lock object on a ZTable. I lock and unlock this object in exclusive non-cumulative mode through the enqueue and dequeue lock object function modules. These generated FMs are invoked via my custom function module.
      My function module will run in the background as a scheduled task in R/3. I execute the Enqueue FM at the start of the FM and keep the table locked until the last step finishes in my FM and then I Dequeue it. I want to have the processing wait and retry the Enqueuring FM at set intervals in case the one run doesn't finish entirely and a new run of this same job kicks off.
    Thank you,
    - Vik.

    Set the wait parameter = 'X'.  These means that if it encounters a lock, then it will wait a certain time for the lock to be released.  This certain time is a system value set by your basis team.  I don't imagine it being a very long time.
      CALL FUNCTION 'ENQUEUE_EZPIPHYINVREF'
           EXPORTING
                MODE_ZPIPHYINVREF = 'E'
                MANDT             = SY-MANDT
                _WAIT             = 'X'.

  • Problems when creating a new parameter for a parametric role

    I'm trying to create a new parameter for a parametric role, but it seems that it is never updated, because the BPM engine does not return any error.
    The scenario is: I have a process that has the role "Brands_Admin", the brands are populated by Web Service dynamically, then the parameters of the role would be those brands. In this case, if a new brand is registered (WS returns a new brand), I simply create a new parameter for the role through the "process administrator" of the BPM Enterprise.
    I'm trying to create the new parameter as follows:
    dirSession                 = DirectorySession.currentEngineSession;
    dirOrganizationalRole       = DirOrganizationalRole.fetch(session : dirSession, id : "Brands_Admin");
    String[] parametricRoles       = dirOrganizationalRole.parametricValues;
    parametricRolesCount      = parametricRoles.length();
    parametricRoles[parametricRolesCount]      = "NEW_BRAND";
    dirOrganizationalRole.parametricValues      = parametricRoles;
    dirOrganizationalRole.update();
    dirOrganizationalRole.refresh();
    for (int i=0; i<dirOrganizationalRole.parametricValues.length(); i++) {
         logMessage(dirOrganizationalRole.parametricValues);
    In the code above, the BPM Studio will print the new parameter correctly, but in next activity (like a Screenflow) when I try to get the parameters of that role again, there are only the parameters that were registered using the BPM Studio, the parameters that are created programmatically not appear.
    Anyone know the reason?
    An user with the same problem: http://forums.tangosol.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=839253&tstart=1

    When a project that contains this logic to create a new parameter for a parametric role programmatically is deployed in BPM Enterprise, some strange behaviours occurs.
    The first is that I cannot see through the process administrator the new parameter that was created for the parametric role.
    The second is that if I create this new parameter through process administrator and associate an user to the role that contains the new parameter I cannot access the deployment process. In workspace (authenticated with user that is associated with the role that contains the new parameter) I cannot see anything about the process.
