Set atribute value from session bea while creating new record using ADF BC

hi,
i want to set the value of new record attribute from session bean while
using ADF BC using creation form. how can i set the value of a perticular arribute of a record to the value stored in session bean.

Chapter 9 in the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers (available on the ADF Learning Center at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/adf/learnadf.html ) describes how to accomplish this along with other typical kinds of programmatic business logic.

  • Error while creating new projects using api

    Hello,
    I am having error while creating projects using standard api, PA_PROJECT_PUB.CREATE_PROJECTS. The error I am having is as follow.
    Source template ID is invalid.

    I suspect that you have either not fully applied the patch or alternatively the patching process did not complete.
    If you are using an analytic workspace, connect as OLAPSYS account and run the following commands:
    exec CWM2_OLAP_METADATA_REFRESH.MR_REFRESH
    exec CWM2_OLAP_METADATA_REFRESH.MR_AC_REFRESH
    If this does not resolve the error, and assuming your system worked prior to applying the 9206 patch, then the patch may need to be reapplied.
    Hope this helps

  • Error in message monitoring while creating new record in R/3

    Hi All,
    I am getting the following error in message monitoring while creating a new record from SAP Mobile client.
    Service name: Validation_Service
    Message: BackendKeys are not filled in table HEADER returned by getDetails
    I am passing some random number from Client to SAP R/3 create function module.
    When i pass the same value in create FM as in message monitoring. I am able to create the record successfully,
    Corresponding to newly created record, i can see the data in getdetail header also.
    Not sure why this error is coming.
    Appreciate your help!!
    Thanks & Regards
    Devendra

    The CREATE FM should not only create the entry, it should also EXPORT the key that it uses to create the entry. Is it doing that?
    i.e. the CREATE signature is usually something like:
    CREATE_BLAH
      IMPORTING header TYPE header_row
      EXPORTING key type header_row-key_field.
    So the 'key' here should be filled by the FM and returned to DOE.

    Hi Srini,
    Yes, it does work...but in a Form Session if i Create more then one Item, in some cases it fires for the first records and not sleeps for the second.
    Sometimes it doesn't give any response.
    Appreciated if you divert to the link to check the Pacthes for 11.5.10 on Form Personalization.
    Please share any ideas/example if yiou have to achieve the below requirement.
    Requirement:
    Once New record is created , a Custom Procedure should be invoked.
    with out closing Form i am able to create n number of Items, so for every Item it should invoke Custom PLSQL Code on Save.
    Let me know if i can achieve the same in Custom.pll .....as i can use either of Options.(Form Personalization/Custom.pll)
    Thanks & regards,

  • How to create multiple records using ADF

    Currently working on my first ADF BC and UIX project, and I basically want to create multiple records after a user makes a choice on the screen. I would like to know at what layer should this functionality be implemented?
    Would this be more at the Struts/Controller level, where I have a java class to perform the creation as part of a data action? I ask because, I am not sure if this is feasible at the ADF BC level (View objects and Entity Objects) via some sort of customization, and i am new to the different possibilies avail as part of the ADF framework

    (Jdeveloper 10.1.2.1 build 1913, Oracle DB 10.1.2)

    I'd put it into the application module. You then can call the method from the controller layer or from an other application module. This way you put it into the business logic, which helps if you ever decide to use a different client approach (like swing).

  • Re:Skip validation while creating New Record

    Hi all,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7.0
    I have one adf table and one createInsert button in .jspx page
    If first time when i click on createInsert Button it is working fine but again i click on createInsert button without entering any mandatory field it is giving an error message like enter a value.
    So how to skip that one,Can anyone help me to resolve it
    Thanks,

    The CREATE FM should not only create the entry, it should also EXPORT the key that it uses to create the entry. Is it doing that?
    i.e. the CREATE signature is usually something like:
    CREATE_BLAH
      IMPORTING header TYPE header_row
      EXPORTING key type header_row-key_field.
    So the 'key' here should be filled by the FM and returned to DOE.

  • Exit to set the automatic PGI and picking while creating outbound delivery

    Hi experts,
    Could anybody suggest how to set the automatic PGI and Picking while creating outbound delivery.
    Currently we are settting VBUK-WBSTK field with value C. But PGI is not happening.
    kindly help me.
    Regards,

    Hello Parihar,
    thanks for reply.
    yes we know that "This process of picking and GI involves reducing the stock and allocating the goods to the delivery"
    if you go for Custom program and Use FM WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE, we can do Picking and PGI.
    our requirement is to do pickong and PGI while creating Delivery it self, based on this output types will be processed.

  • Error while creating new user in Oracle 11i EBS

    I am getting following error while creating new user. How solve this issue?
    “Unable to load java class % specified profile option SIGNON_PASSWORD_CUSTOM. Please verify that the class exists and that it implements the java interface oracle.apps.fnd.security.PasswordValidation”.

    Following is the text from Note for Custom Password Validation logic:
    Customers who wish to use their own password validation logic may do
      so by writing their own Java classes that implement the
      oracle.apps.fnd.security.PasswordValidation Java interface.  The
      interface requires 3 methods to be implemented:
      1) public boolean validate(String user, String password)
        - This method takes a username and password, and then returns true
      or false, indicating whether the user's password is valid or invalid,
      respectively.
      2) public String getErrorStackMessageName()
        - This method returns the name of the message to display when the
      user's password is deemed invalid (i.e., the validate() method returns
      false).
      3) public String getErrorStackApplicationName()
        - This method returns the application shortname for the
      aforementioned error message.
      After writing the Java class to perform customized password
      validation, the customer must then set the value of the profile option
      SIGNON_PASSWORD_CUSTOM to be the full name of the class.  If, for
      example, the name of the Java class is
      oracle.apps.fnd.security.AppsPasswordValidation, then the value of the
      SIGNON_PASSWORD_CUSTOM profile option must be
      oracle.apps.fnd.security.AppsPasswordValidation.  Note that AOL/J
      will attempt to load this class dynamically.  Hence it is necessary to
      make the class accessible by AOL/J.  This means that in Forms, the
      class must first be loaded into the database using the loadjava
      command.

  • Issue while Creating the records in OAF by disabling one field.

    Hi Experts,
    I am having the scenario like this.
    From the OAF page I want to create the record by omitting one field(it is disable for OAF).
    Consider the folowing scenario..
    I am having the following fields Empno,Empname,Salary,Job in the OAF page where I made the Job field alone as disable and the style i am using for job field is message text input and i have set the initial value as 'Manger'.
    I am facing issue while creating the records in OAF page without the job filed value ie 'Manager' then the records were not inserted into my tables. Whereas if I enable the job field in OAF page(meaning I gave the job as 'Manager' in OAF page) I am able to create the records from OAF page and able get inserted in the database.
    Could Anyone can suggest where I fail as it is my Priority issue.
    Any Suggestion will be a great help for me.
    Thanks,
    Murugesh.

    or you can default it in the controller by handling add row event
    if(vo.hasNext())
    vorow = vo.next();
    vorow.setAttribute("xxxx",3838);

  • Creating new records while querying existing record

    Hi,
    I have one master - detail form.
    First i created 1 record. Request ID is the primary key. Now request id generated. For ex.: 10
    Request Id, date, requestor , location, status fields are in header block.
    In lines block, i hv some other fields.. and one field called 'Activity'.
    While creating first record, the activity will be 'New'.
    Then i'll query the record '10'.
    when i'm changing the activity 'New' into 'Upgrade', it should create new record with new request ID.
    How to do this?
    I hv written procedure that, i'm taking field values to local variables. Then assigning the local variable values to field values.
    It is not creating as new record. It overwriting the existing record with new values. Existing record is missing.
    Pl. give steps.
    Thanks
    Kavi

    Hi,
    Okk, you will have to do two things. Create two trigger on block level on which you want to do your changes.
    1. First trigger. (PRE-UPDATE)
    In pre-update trigger u will have to write the complete insert statement into the same table with new req id. like
    DECLARE
    vReqNo DATA_TYPE;
    BEGIN
    SELECT MAX(REQ_ID)
    INTO vReqNo
    FROM your_table;
    INSERT INTO your_table
    (req_no, fields....)
    VALUES
    (vReqNo, :forms_values);
    END;
    2. Create 2nd trigger on block level (ON-UPDATE)
    write in this trigger
    NULL;
    for viewing the inserted record. What u have to do is in ON-UPDATE after null; create one timer NO_REAPEAT.
    and in timer u will have to set the block property to req_id = generated_req_id_from_pre_update_trigger and
    execute_query;
    hope it will work...
