Set java commands in Eclipse and compile into Jar

hm... i know this doesn't sound to belong to this forum but eclipse doesn't have their forum and i think some people here may know about this so i ask here.
my questions are about to use Ecplise to build Java application with some java options. if i run in DOS the command is
java -Xms67108864 -Xmx268435456 <class>then how do i set my -Xms67108864 -Xmx268435456 into the ecplise's run and have it in my jar file? i have been trying various way for a hour already, please help me with this.
Thanks in advance

  • Is it possible to use a Java command to RRI and then Drill Down?

    I am trying to build a Java command to jump from Report "A" to Report "B" through an RRI and then apply the same drill downs to report B as the user had entered in Report A. I want to use an RRI as this saves the user re-entering the selection criteria.
    I can get the characteristics that have been drilled down through the command SAPBWGetDataProviderDimensions so all I need to do is complete the RRI and then reapply the same drill downs.
    I've set the code to do an RRI and a simple drill down (see below) but it isn't working,it simply rebuilds the screen (IE no RRI nor expand).If I remove the EXPAND command the RRI works.
    function sheptest() {
    /* Get the optionnode */
    myhtml = '<form name="MyShep" method="post" action="<SAP_BW_URL>">';
    myhtml = myhtml + '<input type="hidden" name="DATA_PROVIDER" value="DATAPROVIDER_1">';
    myhtml = myhtml + '<input type="hidden" name="CMD" value="RRI">';
    myhtml = myhtml + '<input type="hidden" name="RRI_RECEIVER" value="QURY0001">';
    myhtml = myhtml + '<input type="hidden" name="CMD_2" value="CMD=EXPAND&IOBJNM=0MAT_PLANT__0MATL_GROUP">';
    myhtml = myhtml + '</form>';
    alert(myhtml);
    document.getElementById('MyForm').innerHTML = myhtml;
    I also tried changing the dataprovider through the command RESET_DATA_PROVIDER, instead of using the RRI, but when I did this I am forced into the selection criteria screen, which the users want to avoid (as the variables are all the same).
    Is what I'm trying to do possible?
    Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers Shep.

    Hi,
    this is only possible with BW 3.5. There you have the possibility to add the parameter &rri=X to the RESET_DATA_PROVIDER command. This will result in transfering filters and variables to the new Query / View.
    With RESET_DATA_PROVIDER you can create a command sequence.
    It is not possible to have a command sequence influencing the result of the command RRI.

  • OSB Java Callout, no methods shown when selecting jar

    Hi,
    I'm trying to invoke a Java method in OSB. I've already done this before with a simple static method. What this time is diffrent is that now my jar contains dependency to another jar, like Xerces.
    After I've imported my jar, and I'm trying to select a method, there is no method for me to select. I've tried doing it in either osb console, and OEPE.
    I suspect that the reason for this is the fact that there are imports in the jar. The things I've tried:
    * putting all the imported jars in classpath in MANIFEST file in the jar,
    * importing the imported libraries to osb as well,
    * putting imported jars in the lib directory of the domain (and restart),
    * adding all the imported jars to the servers classpath
    but to no avail.
    Or it could not be related to the imports at all.
    Method signature:
    public static String prepareEnvelope(String envelope) throws TransformerException, SAXException, IOException
    Help? Suggestions?
    Edit: OSB console doesn't seem to see this method either:
    package myPackage;
    public class Test {
         public static String test(String arg) {
              return "kitten";
    What's going on?

    I seem to have resolved my own problem. I complied the Java project using Eclipse and Java 1.6. After I've changed the "compiler compliance" from 1.7 to 1.6, my project is being shown in OSB.
    Yay

  • Permission problems with command line CVS and Java CVS App

    Greetings,
    I'm part of a moderately sized website development team which recently upgraded to MacBook Pros (dual core) running OS 10.4.9. One of the primary tools we use in our day to day work is the open source concurrent versioning system (CVS). We've noticed a distressing issue running CVS on our macbook pros: there seems to be a problem with the way these new machines handle permissions on the directories/files that CVS uses to manage files.
    The error occurs when the CVS application, in this case both command line CVS and GUI CVS application named SmartCVS, tries to rename a temporary file named Entries~ to its new name Entries (no ~). It looks like this:
    java.io.IOException: Could not rename file
    /Users/[USER]/Sites/[MODULE]/lib/CVS/Entries~ to
    /Users/[USER]/Sites/[MODULE]/lib/CVS/Entries
    at smartcvs.JP.a(SourceFile:125)
    at smartcvs.JP.a(SourceFile:113)
    We've noticed that if we open up a get info window on the directory we're downloading, and choose "Apply to enclosed items" right when we start the download process, the issue will be resolved, presumably because the permissions are being set on the subdirectories as the download is taking place.
    We've checked the permissions on the overall ~/Sites/ directory numerous times, and they always seem to be set correctly as drwxr-xr-x. It's within this folder that CVS creates a directory with the CVS module name and downloads all the contained files, so we don't see why it would be having issues completing this successfully. We also checked to ensure the GUI CVS application is running under the current user on the machine: it does.
    Has anyone run into issues like this in the past? Is there more information I could provide to further clarify the problem we're having?
    Thanks for any input you have!

    Thanks for asking Jeff, yes one place we are seeing this error is Java application SmartCVS, though the results posted here are from a normal command line CVS checkout.

  • Java.lang.VerifyError    (Eclipse vs Command Line)

    Dear all,
    I'm a very new user of the java programming language. I'm experimenting with using Eclipse and Java commands built in to our University network. I've come up against a problem that I cannot resolve...
    In Eclipse (on Windows), i've written a class which takes routines from some External JARs and produces some outputs. It works, great!
    Now I want to run it from the command line (SuSe Linux)...
    I've defined my CLASSPATH to include (explicitly) each of the .jar files that are required. Then, i compile my .java file:
    javac SobolGenerator.java
    BUT i get the following error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.VerifyError: (class: Statistics/Random, method: <clinit> signature: ()V) Incompatible argument to function
    at QuasiRandom.Sobol.<init>(Sobol.java:436)
    at SobolGenerator.generateNew(SobolGenerator.java:43)
    at SobolGenerator.main(SobolGenerator.java:151)
    I don't think it's anything I've written myself (but probably is), since it refers to an error in the Statistics/Random method...
    QuasiRandom.Sobol issues the following command:
    double u=Random.U1();
    ======================================
    package Statistics;
    import cern.jet.random.*;
    import cern.jet.random.engine.MersenneTwister;
    public class Random{
    static double Y=0; //second normal deviate from Box-Muller
    static boolean New=true; //flag indicating wether a new normal deviate
    // has to be computed (otherwise Y is reported)
    /** <p>First MersenneTwister uniform random number generator.</p>
    public static final Uniform
    uniform_1=new Uniform(new MersenneTwister(113));
    /** <p>Second MersenneTwister uniform random number generator.</p>
    public static final Uniform
    uniform_2=new Uniform(new MersenneTwister(2113));
    /** <p>First uniform u\in(0,1).</p>
    public static double U1(){ return uniform_1.nextDouble(); }
    /** <p>Second uniform u\in(0,1).</p>
    public static double U2(){ return uniform_2.nextDouble(); }
    /** Fair draw from {1,-1}.
    public static int Sign()
    double x=U1(); return (x>0.5)? 1:-1;
    /** <p>Loaded draw X from {-1,1}.
    * X=1 with probability p,
    * X=-1 with probability 1-p.</p>
    * @param p Probability that X=+1.
    public static int Sign(double p)
    double x=U1(); return (x<p)? 1:-1;
    /**<p>Standard normal deviate using the inverse normal CDF on uniform
    * deviates generated by the Mersenne Twister.</p>
    public static double STN()
    return FinMath.N_Inverse(uniform_1.nextDouble());
    } //end STN()
    } // end Random
    ==========================================
    As i say, Eclipse does the whole thing fine but the command line approach doesn't work.
    So if anyone can help I will be extremely grateful.
    Best regards,
    Neil

    Welcome to the club !
    Eclipse performs a lazy evaluation of items in its workspce and in commandline mode, you cannot guarantee that your class has been loaded by the time you attempt to use it. This is a real pain. No one will answer your questions because in reality, this software has no support. Commandline execution has long be requsted and many articles have been written. Very few work. If you learn something, maybe you can tell the rest of us dummies....

  • How to run and compile a java servlet on Tomcat?

    Hi, I am very new to servlets in Tomact.
    I went to the java tutorial and from the address below I copy an example (SimpleServlet).I try to run and compile it in Tomcat, But I don't know how can I do that. I appreciate if somebody tell me the command line for compiling and running this example and the necassary steps. (My Tomcat is installed perfactly).
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/servlets/overview/simple.html
    Thankx

    Hello,
    I have the similar question.
    Instead of going thru sun's tutorial, I tried onjava's ("http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2001/04/19/tomcat.html?page=1").
    I could see the jsp page, but when I tried to add a servlet, I got an error "Page not found". I followed exactly the same way they describe. The only thing I noticed was the resulting page on the tutorial had the URL of ".../servlet/...".
    Is this "servlet" directory something we are supposed to create our own? If so, under what directory? Or do we need to set up anything in order for the servlet to be referenced that way?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How do I compile a java file in eclipse

    Hi,
    I have just installed eclipse and added a plugin for tomcat.
    I created a new tomcat project and have been trying out several jsp files. Everything nice and dandy.
    Now there is a bean in the tutorial that I am doing. So I use the context menu, new->class.
    A file is created in the src folder. I copied the source code from the tutorial in it.
    Now I have been looking everywhere but can not find a menu option that lets me compile it.
    How does that work. I hope this is the right forum for such basic questions.
    Thank you very much.

    As far as I know, the java code is compiled in Eclipse as soon as you save it. i.e. press CTRL+SHIFT+s
    as far as the build is concerned, in case you have a build file where you specify how to make a jar file, the location the jsr file is to be placed, only then you have to build the project. However again, as far as just simple compile is concerned as soon as you save the files are compiled. And show you the errors if any in the tasks window.

  • Compiling a Java Project in Eclipse

    Hey all, I'm having trouble compiling a project.
    I had a Java class two years ago and I forget how to do it. I have all the files in a folder named "final" on my desktop.
    Inside "final" is all my sounds, images, a file called table.class, sound.class, sound.java, and table.java.
    How do I get this thing to be an executable again???

    Create a new project in Eclipse and get it to work like you want. Then go to File > Export to make a jar file.

    http://java-virtual-machine.net/tech-faq.html
    is a great link.
    It claims to have a newer, fixed version of problem DLL, SYMCJIT.DLL . Try that.
    The page has an Intel link that is out-of -date. The current Intel link is
    http://support.intel.com/support/processors/pentium4/sb/CS-007990.htm
    "CPUID detection for Intel Pentium 4 processor system"
    In two lines, they recommend:
    dir /s SYMCJIT.DLL
    ren SYMCJIT.DLL SYMCJIT.OLD
    Of course, Java will run slower, but JIT is a machine-specific concept and this *.DLL was coded to fail if it did not recognize the CPU type. Maybe not a great decision, but there you are.

  • JAVA command line options -cp and -jar don't work together?

    Running JSDK 1.4.2 under Windows. I have a Java application that tries to dynamically load a class name that the user enters as follows:
    try {
    classResult = java.lang.Class.forName(strFilterName);
    catch (ExceptionInInitializerError e) {
    strErrorMessage = "ExceptionInInitializerError loading class: " + strFilterName;
    catch (LinkageError e) {
    strErrorMessage = "LinkageError loading class: " + strFilterName;
    catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {
    strErrorMessage = "ClassNotFoundException loading class: " + strFilterName;
    This works fine if the classes that make up my application are left as class files in the classpath, but fails to work if they have been collected and run from a JAR file. Note: I can even dynamically load the class when running from the JAR file, if the class I'm trying to load is within that JAR file too. The problem really occurrs when the dynamically loaded class is located someplace else in my classpath. I've tried using various combinations of the "-cp" and "-jar" Java command line options - but when loading and running from a JAR file - the "-cp" parameters seem to be ignored. Is this a bug? Has anyone ever seen this before?
    I run my program from the JAR file using this command:
    java -cp .;e:\entmgr\filters -jar EntMgr.jar
    Where "e:\entmgr\filters" is where the class I'm trying to dynamically load is. (This class has no package name, but loads perfectly as long as I'm not running the application from the JAR file). The class name specified by the user has to be fully specified with a package name (if it has one).
    I have tried forcing the "java.lang.Class.forName(strFilterName);" call to use the system class loader, the parent of the system class loaded, and even the null bootstrap class loader - all with no success.
    I am suspecting that the class loader that is loading and running my main program from the JAR file, is just not paying any attention to the "-cp" parameter when the "-jar" parameter is present. Indeed, I have never seen any change in the failure, no matter what I put in the "-cp" parameter when using the JAR file.
    When I run this without using the JAR file, here is the command I execute:
    java -cp .;davidp\snmp;filters davidp.snmp.EntMgr
    Where this is executed in a directory that has a "filters" and "davidp\snmp" directory. In this case, because the "filters" directory is in my class path - I can dynamically load my class from it using just its simple name (i.e. "TestTrapFilter").
    So, is there some bug that precludes the "-cp" parameter from working correctly when the "-jar" parameter is used? Is there some other way to initialize or set up the classloader I'm using, so it can find things outside of the JAR file I'm running from? I would hope that it is possible to get the same behavior from my program, no matter if it is run from a JAR file or not.
    Thanks for any assistence!
    Dave

    These posts are pretty old, but this page came up in a google search while I was having the same problem, so I thought I would throw my own (Later found) solution in.
    The -cp and -jar options did not work together for me, but I later learned that they didn't really have to (and you don't have to mess with jar manifest files).
    While on the command line, if you want to set a specific class path and also run a jar, all you need to do is add the jar to whatever extra class path you need to use in the -cp <arg>, and then specify which class you want run from inside the jar.
    IE:
    java -cp <YourSpecialClasspath>: <PathToJar> <ClassToRunInsideOfJar>
    in my case it was like:
    java -cp /home/user/WebRCP.jar:./StandaloneInstaller.jar InstallLoader
    Remember to put a ":" in between the two arguments for the class path (-cp).
    Hope this helps someone in the future,

  • Dynamically Create and Compile Java Classes

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to dynamically create and compile Java classes and would like some advice on the best method to do so.
    Basically the project I am working on involves creating "Factors". Factors are items that have both attributes and weights so for example Factor A could have attribute B with weight 0.76, and attribute C with weight 1.33. There are a number of methods common to all factors such as calculateTotal, identify etc etc.
    At the moment the application has 5 factors, but there is a requirement to dynamically add and remove factors on the fly.
    I current solution I have been considering is using XML to describe the new class, build up the class and compile it; something along the lines of what is descibed at
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-02-2002/jw-0201-xslt_p.html
    however i would like to consider all options.
    Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

    You want to dynamically create and compile Java classes.
    I would try the following:
    (1) Write the Source code of the new class into a text file with the name MyNewClass.java
    (2) compile this new .java-file with Runtime r = getRuntime();
    try {
        r.exec ("javac MyNewClass.java");
    } catch (IOException e) {
        System.out.println("ooops " + e.getMessage());
    } (3) somehow try to load that new class, maybe using ClassLoader cl = ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader();
    cl.loadClass("MyNewClass");

  • If i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it as the option 'set up as new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos and ect?

    if i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it to the option 'set up as a new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and log into my apple ID so i can just restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos, contacts, ect. and then later i can add contacts that i need/want instead of them restoring them from icloud?
    The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
    it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...
    and i hope you understand my problem..
    i would REALLY REALLY appreciate it if someone could tell me a solution to my problem!!! thank you so much!

    Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck. Cheers.
