  • How do you set the Crystal Report Viewer Printer to Duplex

    Using the code below I can print in duplex mode, but this does not let me view a report before printing
    How do I set the Printer in the Viewer Control Bar of the Crystal Report Viewer to Duplex Printing programmatically rather than having to manually select Duplex through the preferences option?
    I have searched but the only example code I found produces errors in the code and will not run
    Private myReport As ReportDocument
    myReport = New ReportDocument()
    myReport.PrintOptions.PaperSize = PaperSize.PaperA4
    myReport.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Portrait
    myReport.PrintOptions.PrinterDuplex = PrinterDuplex. Vertical
    myReport.PrintToPrinter(3, False, 0, 0)
    In my VB6 Project that I am converting to VB.NET when I added Report.PrinterDuplex = crPRDPVertical, this allowed me to view the report and then print with Duplex without having to set the Print Preferences manualy
    I found 1386475 - How to set printer name and print job title at runtime using Report Application Server SDK for Visual Studio .NET
    But this causes errors

    Hi David,
    You can mix both engines, just declare them both with different report object names. Here's all of my references:

  • Report Viewer 2010 Column chart Side Margin

    Hi,
    In Report Viewer 2010 Column chart, there is a side margin between x-axis and first column. There is only option to Enable or Disable it but i would like to have this with some small width or custom value.
    How can i reduce side margin in Report Viewer 2010 Column chart?
    Regards,
    RajeshPuniya

    Hi RajeshPuniya,
    In Reporting Service, we can only enable or disable the side margins on the X-Axis of the chart. There is no such feature support us to customize the width of the side margin.

  • Crystal report viewer does not observe the PaperSize and PageOrientation setting

    Hi:
    My application is a 3 tier application, where the WinForm client is connected to the WCF Services hosted in IIS server.
    The report is generated on server side using WCF service, and export as.rpt with data, the .rpt file is then sent to the WinForm client, the Crystal Report viewer is used to load the .rpt file for preview and print.
    On server side I've Microsoft XPS Document Writer installed and set as default printer. On the client side if the default printer is XPS or Nitro PDF creator, the report can be view and print correctly, report design in landscape will be able to show in the landscape in CR viewer, report design using custom paper size (e.g. Half Letter), CR viewer able to show it in Half Letter.
    The problem that I'm facing is when the default printer is set to HP LaserJet P1120 or others (I've tried Epson ESC/P Standard driver), the report is always shown in the portrait, and it will not be able to show in custom paper size either. Here is my code:
         Dim settings As New System.Drawing.Printing.PrinterSettings
         Dim rep as New ReportDocument
         rep.Load(sOutputFileName)     'The report is download from server and save in sOutputFileName
         SetReportPaperSize(rep, sPaperSizeName, False, settings) ' sPaperSizeName store the name of the custom paper used in the report
         CrViewer.ReportSource = rep

             Next
          End If
          Return result
       End Function
    Setting the PrintOptions.PaperSize and PageOrientation seem like no effect on the viewer. My code to load the report to CR viewer is much more complicated than the code I show above, I've a background worker thread to download the report, and when the worker thread finished download the report from the server, it will assign the report to CRViewer. Do the changes in report PrintOption before assign to CRViewe and after assigning to CRViewer make any different?
    I'm using VS2010, CR XI R2 (Version 11.5.3700.0). Please Help. Thanks
    Regards
    JC Voon

    Hi JC,
    CRXI R2 is a no go with VS 2010, these two are not compatible.
    With CR 11.5 use VS 2005.
    Or Use VS 2010 and CR for VS 2010 (13.0)
    Once you have the supported / compatible conbination of CR and VS, use the In Proc RAS .NET code from below KBA.

  • Report Viewer 2012 Word Render Margin Problem‏

    Hi all,
    I am developing a asp.net web application /w visual studio 2012. I have created some reports with report viewer, and I would like to export those reports to pdf and MS Word format. The pdf output is same as I expected, but the word output is
    missing top and bottom margin, it leads we cannot print the header and footer correctly in MS Word, also the repeat header on each page property didn't work too.
    If I use report builder 3.0 and try to export the reports to pdf and MS Word format, the problem still exists.
    Is anyone has the solution for this issue?
    I think its related to sql server reporting services, please let me know if I posted at wrong category.
    Thanks,
    hk

    Hi hkcheung,
    According to your description, you have issues when exporting the report into Microsoft Word file. The margin of header and footer can't be displayed. And the RepeatOnNewPage property is not working. Right?
    In Reporting Services, when we export the report into Word file, it will ignore page header and footer height settings. Also Word does not repeat header rows on page two and greater, although you set the
    RepeatOnNewPage property of the static header row in a tablix (table, matrix, or list) to
    True. For more information, please see the limitations in the link below:
    Exporting to Microsoft Word (Report Builder and SSRS)
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • How to set printersettings for the crystal report viewer in SAP BI dynamically

    Hello
    I have set the URL method for my crystal report and with parameter passing as shown below, it was displaying the crystal report viewer by connecting to the SAP BI 4.0 server with this method.
    http://cr:port/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=CRLabelParam&sType=rpt&lsSnPrinted=0&lsSsTestProjectNr=1
    This URL will be called from Web application by different users, i would like to set the printer settings differently for different users for this crystal report viewer how shall i need to set the printer options?
    shall i need to set the printer settings programatically for each user. Please advise me how do i need to proceed.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajeswari.

    There are no BI / CR APIs that would do this for you. The way I see it, you'll have to have your own print button and populate it with the correct printer information for each user as they request the report. Of course, alternatively, use the viewer printer button and get the users to choose the correct printer.

  • Report Viewer renders incorrectly when set to "IMAGE"

    I read this;
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/b4a6eb43-0013-435f-9d11-00ee26a8d017/report-viewer-error-on-export-pdf-or-excel-from-azure-web-sites?forum=windowsazurewebsitespreview
    And after upgrading to "Basic" mode on Azure websites I was able to render PDF, EXCEL and WORD formats.  However when set to IMAGE the rendered binary is entirely black.  No errors are thrown.  The binary contains data (33kB).  I
    have tried changing the deviceInfo settings to include <OutputFormat>JPEG</OutputFormat> and a few other variants.
    I have super verified that when run on my local machine the render works correctly but not on Azure websites.
    I imagine that the class of bug we are dealing with here is a permutation of the API was accidentally not enabled/tested when making the fix for the GDI issue mentioned in the link above.
    This capability is very useful for enabling MVC Restful API's solutions.  I think the business value is very high.  Please help, I figure it will be a quick fix?!

    Thanks for the report.  Can you supply me a sample piece of code that demonstrates the problem, or point me to your web site -> the best way is communicate that is using our new support site.
    http://azure.microsoft.com/blog/2014/10/08/support-site-extension-for-azure-websites-preview-release/
    Please include enough information so I can repro the scenario myself and see what failed.

  • Setting report viewer source problem...

    In vs2010 I go to bind the report viewer to the report source but the report source method is showing invalid.  I have included: using CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine;
    using CrystalDecisions.Shared;
    My click handler to generate the report is:
    DataTable table = new DataTable();
    dbOperations operations = new dbOperations();
    ReportDocument pluReport = new ReportDocument();
    pluData pluData = new pluData();  //use database to populate a datatable
    table = operations.dispDB();  //populate the table from the database
    pluData.Tables[0].Merge(table);  //merge table from database with dataset
    pluReport.Load(@"C:\Users\Chris\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\CRS_Inventory\CRS_Inventory\pluReport.rpt");
    pluReport.SetDataSource(pluData);
    crystalReportsViewer1.(pluData);
    I am converting a previous project from forms to wpf and everything works perfectly fine except this one line.  Thanks for the assistance.

    I htink the best palce to start is with out sample apps:

  • Export to text procuding different results between SDK and Report Viewer.

    We have a 3rd party app that uses Report Viewer v2.5.991 to generate reports. We use the export to text feature and specify 60 lines per page. This produces a report with 60 detail lines and a footer that comes after the sixty for a total of 64 lines per page.
    I am a .NET developer and am using the CrystalDecisions SDK version 13.0.2000.0. I am using the same rpt file and automatically generating the text export using C# .NET. I am specifying TextFormatOptions LinesPerPage of 60. This is producing 60 lines total including the footer.
    Is there an option I am missing in my code to produce the desired results?

    No such thing as Report Viewer v2.5.991. Not as far as I know anyhow...
    Looking at the description of the TextFormatOptions property in the SAP Crystal Reports .NET API Guide:
    Gets or Sets the number of lines per page to use when you export to text.
    So, it looks to me like the property is behaving as expected. E.g.; it is the 3rd party that does something to get 64 lines per page. Perhaps setting the property to 64 will do the trick?

  • Report Viewer and Multiple Data Sources

    I know that it is possible to create a report in Crystal Reports using multiple data sources.  But is it possible to use just the Free  Report Viewer to view a report with Multiple Data Sources?
    Our company uses Crystal Reports XI.  I do not use the program myself, I am in the IT Department.  I have limited knowledge of Crystal and do not do any of the report writing.
    If this is possible, and if someone could help me out with what would need to be done, or point me in the right direction of a Knowledge Base or Help Topic that explains this, that would be great.
    Thanks.

    I believe it can but both data sources need to be set up. Ask a report designer to help you use the Designer to test this and see what is required.

  • Crystal Report Viewer Collapse Unneeded Lines

    I have a CR open sales order report grouped by sales order number. Crystal report viewer outlines Sales Order #, customer name and doc total in the master line. Underneath that, it shows multi line items contain in that SO.
    I am wondering, is there a way I can collapse the multi line items and only shows the master line item? We need this sometimes to present to management just to show the big picture.
    Is it we can add a drill-down event to the crystal report viewer control? Not sure how to accomplish that. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    If the detail information is in the Detail section, you can set the Detail Section to Hide.  This will only show the Sales Order information and have the ability to drill down to the Details when you need them.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Crystal Report Viewer integration with Sharepoint 2010

    We had a requirement in our project to view crystal report off an hyper link embedded into sharepoint web part developed using ASP .NET. The report accepted few parameters from the sharepoint page and passed those on to the SQL server to retrive data and
    display the data in the report. The challenge was to open the report in the web browser.
    The first difficulty was to find the right control to use, the report viewer tool that comes with Visual Studio 2010 is not the right one to use to view Crystal reports, I realised this after spending half a day trying to figure out why wouldn't the report
    load. I then downloaded the Crystal Report Viewer for VS 2010 Standard from http://www.businessobjects.com/jump/xi/crvs2010/us2_default.asp. After you install this, you get the crystal report viewer in your toolbar. All you have to do is drag and drop it on
    to the web part and configure it to use your report. If any one needs help with this let me know I will show how to do that.
    So far so good. The biggest challenge was to deploy this on to the production server which took better part of 3 days to figure out how its done. If you deploy the WSP file as it is expecting that the crystal DLLs would be embedded in it then be ready to
    expect a rude shock because it isn't. Here are the steps -
    1. Deploy the WSP to the sharepoint server
    2. Install the crystal dlls used in the project (CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll, CrystalDecisions.ReportSource.dll, CrystalDecisions.Shared.dll, CrystalDecisions.Web.dll) into the GAC using GacUtil command
    3. Add following entries to Web.Config file (C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80\web.congif)
        <SafeControl Assembly="CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine, Version=13.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304" Namespace="CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine" TypeName="*" Safe="True" SafeAgainstScript="False"
    />
          <SafeControl Assembly="CrystalDecisions.ReportSource, Version=13.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304" Namespace="CrystalDecisions.ReportSource" TypeName="*" Safe="True" SafeAgainstScript="False" />
          <SafeControl Assembly="CrystalDecisions.Shared, Version=13.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304" Namespace="CrystalDecisions.Shared" TypeName="*" Safe="True" SafeAgainstScript="False" />
          <SafeControl Assembly="CrystalDecisions.Web, Version=13.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304" Namespace="CrystalDecisions.Web" TypeName="*" Safe="True" SafeAgainstScript="False" />
    4. Install crystal redistributable package which can be downloaded from http://www.businessobjects.com/jump/xi/crvs2010/us2_default.asp (
    SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 (64-bit))
    5. Copy aspnet_client folder from C:\>inetpub\wwwroot and overwrite it on C:\>inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80
    And we are done. Fingers crossed it should all work.

    Hi Mahesh,
    How are you loading the report in your webpart? This is what I have done. I have tried to explain what I am doing in the program comments. Hope this helps. Good luck.

                    SPWeb thisSite = mySite.OpenWeb();
                    // Writing to event log after every step in debug mode so that you get to know if there was a failure what step the failure occured after.
                    EventLog.WriteEntry("Reports", "Inside PAge Load ", EventLogEntryType.Error);
                    SPFolder folder = thisSite.GetFolder("Reports");
                    if (folder.Exists)
                        // get collection of Crystal Reports rpt files in the document library
                        SPFileCollection files = folder.Files;
                        // open the rpt file and get the contents
                        SPFile srcfile = files[reportToLaunch];

                        if (!dir2.Exists)
                            dir2.Create();

    Hi

    I could found a Crystal Report Viewer control on my computer, but it is version 8.5.
    I have also found another one which is Called Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, i don't think it is the one I can use. As when I try to load a dummy report on to the Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, It return an error. "specified type is not valid"
    Please see the Code sample below.
    private sub loadReport()
         Dim r as New ReportDocument
         'v is the name of the Crystal ActiveX Report Viewer Control
         r.Load("C:\Report1.rtp")
         v.ReportSource(r) <---It throw error on this line.
    End Sub
    Could you give me some advice about what have I done wrong, How to check if I have set up the Crystal Report Component correctly in my Visual Studio 2005 Standard edition.
    Thanks in advances.
    Many thanks
    Chi

    VS 2005 Standard and Express editions do not come with Crystal Reports; only the Professional and higher editions will have CR bundled. However, I believe you can purchase CR XI R2 Developer and it will give you the components you need to create a VS .NET 2005 application using the Standard edition.
