Set Material Slip field of MB1B as mandatory

The user want that the field "Material Slip" of the Tx MB1B be mandatory, but only for the movement types 411 and 412. Is this posible?
I could set this field as mandatory in the Tx OMJN but I don´t find the option of doing this only for some movement types.
Do you know if this is possible?

We can not get the funtionallity through IMG for specific Movement type.
Need to use User Exit.
Here is the list of user exits in MB1B:

Material group field selection

Hi,
We configure the material group to be optional field in Material master (for some reasons) but when we create the purchasing view the system always ask for Fill up the Material group field. Is that mandatory field control for material group is hard coded in the program ??

I'm using MB5B to have a report of stocks with material movement.
When I make some material movement, I have filled the "material slip" field.
How to get it in report MB5B ?

The possibility to include additional fields in the report MB5B is limited to MSEG, just as you can see in the text of the report RM07MLBD_CUST_FIELDS itself:
This include contains the structure for additional fields for report
RM07MLBD ( transaction MB5B )
the following fields are not shown in the list of report
RM07MLBD
If you want to insert some of these fields in the list of the
hidden fields delete the '*' in the type definition.

Please use only the following fields, because these fields
are considered during the creation of the field catalog;
plaese consider, that each active field will cost performance
If you need to add aditional information from other tables, like the

Material master Fields Mandatory

Hi Ashish,
First go to the respective field for which it has to be made mandatory. Note down the Table name and field name.
Go to SPRO--> Logistics General --> Material Master --> Field Selection --> Assign Fields to Field Selection Groups.
click the position field name button and enter the table name - field name (eg MARA-TRAGR for Transportation Group). Note down the Selection Group. Then go to
SPRO--> Logistics General --> Material Master --> Field Selection --> Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens
Kindly mention the field selection group that has been noted earlier and press enter.
Then in the middle Field Selection (Field Selection Group 1) can be seen select the field reference of the material type or MM01 for Create Material Master or MM02 for Change Material master as hide, display, reqd entry and Opt. entry.

How to set a DFF Field as a mandatory field dynamically (Forms 4.5)

For example i need to set one field (in DFF) as mandatory for some order types in the standard order entry screen.
I tried
set_item_property('ORDER.ATTRIBUTE1',REQUIRED,PROPERTY_TRUE);
but i a mgetting error as " can not set ORDER.ATTRIBUTE1 of NULL canvas item.

Hello,
Your item has no associated canvas, so it is not displayed, then you have no reason at all to set its required property, because the end user would never be able to enter it.

How to make material code field mandatory in VA01

Dear all,
I want to make material code field mandatory while creating sales order (VA01). As of now even if I dont enter material code , and just enter customer code and P.O. number , I am able to save my sales order.
I tried to do it with incompletion log , but could not succeed.
SHD0 could be an option, is there any simpler way out ?

Hi,
You have 2 options.
1 - Incompletion Log
If you add Material filed to your incompletion log, then when you try to save the sales order it'll give the "Save / Edit" pop up message. But then by pressing Save button you can save the sales order.
If you want to avoid that pop up; do this. (To avoid user saving Incomplete sales orders)
Go to VOV8 Tx.
Go in to your sales document type
Under "Transaction flow" section mark the "IIncompletion messages" tick box
Then try with a new sales order without a material number
If won't give that pop up message any more where as it'll always go in to the incompletion log. So you can't save it without maintaining the material.
That's a alternative way of doing.
2- SHD0.

first copy the screen field of mateiral master to get this press F1 on the the field adn from technical tas copy the the screen field (e.g MRP group MARC-DISGR) then go to OMSR transaction and hit field name and enter the value you have copy from mateiral
once you see that field on the screen then hit the Green yellow arrow from right side of screen whic will take the screen where oyu can make optiona, reqd or hide field.
but make sure here you make setting at appropriate field ref other wise it will impact many transaciton
e.g. if oyu want to make field optional in MM02 then don;t make field optional at ROH

I want to make one MARA-XCHPF field mandatory for a specific plant and specfic material type,If I Give Plant specfic Field referance and check the fiield as mandatory in OMSR for the field referance I have created If I mark it mandatory it become mandatory for all the material type,I want to make mandatory for some materials type only that too plant specfic

Gr/ir slip field value is not stored in table mkpf..!!

dear sap gurus,
    i have a typical problem.. i am doing Transfer posting from one storage location to another. using MB1B with 311 mov type.. and mentioning some values in the gr/ir slip field.. but system is not storing the value in table..
Can any one say how to solve this.. if i use MIGO_TR then its storinghte value i mentioned in MKPF table..

This GR/GI slip number has only been designed for use in those countries (for example, Italy) whose legislation requires specification of this number for goods that leave the plant and are transported on public roads. In other countries, the material document number printed on the GR/GI slip (in the standard system) is usually sufficient. To enter external documents, you can use the field Material slip or Delivery note.
If still wants to use this field you are required make relevent settings in config.
Please go to transaction OMC1.
There you will find 4 push buttons.
   1. Activation of GR/IR slip for plant.
   2. Number range grouping code.
   3. Intervals for number range.
   4. Object(here you are assigning the number range for the plant, storage location and movement type.
This will allow you to store GR/IR slip number in MKPF with trx. MB1B

How to set the 'Lot' field in Batch Pending (Product) Lots as 'Optional'

We are now Upgrading FROM 11.5.10.2 To r12.1.3.
The 'Lot' field under Batch material Details -> Pending Product Lots is mandatory, Which is very bad for us.
Our Current (11i) business process for creating Product lots, is to 1st allocate the 'Lot', and later on allocate and complete the 'Sublots' within this lot.
The equivalent process in r12 should be: 1st allocate the 'Parent Lot', and later on allocate and complete the 'lots' within this Parent lot.
Question: Is there any way to set the 'Lot' field to be optional?

No this is not possible, since Parent lot is a subset of Lot in R12. Once you choose your item as LOT, then it is not possible to make as Optional.
Try to raise an SR for this, Oracle may provide some workaround for the same.

I want to configure to bring back Material Group field is Missing in Material Master - Purchasing view. It is mandatory to Create & save a master. I cant save a master in sandbox. Need Help..

I make all field as Optional & Create master successfully.. Thanks.. I even verfied in J1ID Master for assesable value & Chapter ID Combination.. But in Cenvat Determination Field, How i can set Default Indicator for Modvat "tick" & how can i set Excise Intimation Date also.
I checked Material Master in mm03 [ Display].
I clicked More & Pre Vals. option in Foreign Trade Import.
For More, It shows this error.

There is no badi or user exit available to add a custom fields.If that fields are standard one then it can be controlled against the movement type.Go to T code: OMCJ .Select the movement type, and click on display. And maintian the filed settings accordingly.

Material Document field to be added in the Quality Notification F3 type

IMG-->QM>Quality notifications->Notification Creation->Define Screen Templates--> Define Initial Screens--> select F3 here and enter QM03_CREATE_QMEL_WITH_WINDOW in the column Name of the function module and enter 0100 in the initial screen column., save it.
If you wish to make material document field mandatory, then go to
IMG-->QM>Quality notifications->Notification Creation->Define Screen Templates--> Field Selection: Initial Screens--> select the radio button as REQ for the field RQM01-MBLNR that is for material doc.
Similarly for in the above menu you can make mandatory for reference object screen also
IMG-->QM>Quality notifications->Notification Creation->Define Screen Templates--> Field Selection: Reference Object Screens--> select the radio button as REQ for the field RQM01-MBLNR that is for material doc.
Now, once you finish this , go and try QM01 you will find the POP for Material document entry coming immediately if you pres the Notification button for F3 Notification type.

its fine that you made changes in NBB Field selection group for PR, but have you assigned that field selection group in Document type please check once,
untill and unless you assign the field selection group in Doc type you will not get the expected results.
