Set optimizer mode for mapping

How can i set the optimizer mode(for example, "all_rows") explicitly for a mapping?
~Prabha

Hi,
in design center, select "configure" in the context menu of a mapping. Under table operators, select a table and set the extraction hint.

  • Set optimizer mode for someone else possible?

    I know that I can use the sys.dbms_system package to set tracing on for another session but cannot figure how to change their optimizer mode - if it's possible at all.
    I have tried this -
    exec sys.dbms_system.set_bool_param_in_session(20,176,'optimizer_mode=choose',TRUE);
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> show parameter opt
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    object_cache_optimal_size integer 102400
    optimizer_features_enable string 8.1.7
    optimizer_index_caching integer 0
    optimizer_index_cost_adj integer 100
    optimizer_max_permutations integer 80000
    optimizer_mode string RULE
    optimizer_percent_parallel integer 0
    Tried the 'set_int_param_in_session' but 'choose' is not an integer.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

  • How to set Compatibility Mode for a single site in ie10

    This question was originally posted on the Answers forum -

    I am having problem with getting ie10 to set ie9 compatibility for a single site (sharepoint.contoso.com).
    When I add this website in Compatibility View Settings (Alt > Tools > Compatibility View Settings > 'Add this Website') it adds the domain 'contoso.com' and not the individual website (sharepoint.contoso.com).
    This cause other sites (www.contoso.com) to be configured to use compatibility mode. Because this is a separate site (different web server) to the site sharepoint.contoso.com (sharepoint 2010 server) we need different compatibility settings.
    Using a different example to explain the issue -
    Microsoft has three websites that are different websites created by different developers written in different programming languages and they only work with certain browsers.
    microsoft.com (Website1 created by Developer1) - compatible with ie8/ie9/ie10
    msdn.microsoft.com (Website2 created by Developer2) - compatible with ie8/ie9
    technet.microsoft.com (Website3 website created by Developer3) - compatible only with ie10
    The only thing the three website share is the URL contains 'microsoft.com'.
    Marking 'msdn.microsoft.com' to run in compatibility mode affects the other 2 websites - mainly technet.microsoft.com which will not work now since it only runs in pure ie10 mode.
    Should you be able to add an individual site to the compatibility list instead of all sites that have  .microsoft.com in the URL? Am I missing a simple setting in the ie10?
    As a workaround I am using the F12 Developer Tools to set the Browser Mode which temporary sets the compatibility mode. However this is not a nice solution to the end users at our organisation.

    problem is not solved for non corporate environments...
    You could start your own thread.  Then if you got that answer and it was marked Answered you would have the ability to unmark it.  The OP of this one seems satisfied.  Also note that this is TechNet.  Consumers can get help on Answers
    forums.
    Robert Aldwinckle
    Oh! I wrote it wrong: I should have said: This is not solved for NON-AD environments. No demands what so ever to use Window 7/8 professional in a small corporation or on a big corporation with Island of smaller departments for example offshore.
    The problem is that the thread is not "Answered" by the OP, its is marked answered by a moderator (and same moderator that did the answer) so no way of telling if the OP is satisfied.
    But you are right in the fact that I am almost kidnapping the thread. But a complete answer would benefit all in this case I would presume.

  • Any way to set "active mode" for FTP, or to use sFTP instead?

    I have a web host that does not support passive FTP mode.   I need to either set the mode to be "active mode", or I need to use secure FTP (sFTP).  Is there any support for either of these within Muse?

    Hi
    By default , Adobe Muse FTP option uses " Passive Mode" , I am afraid its not possible to switch to "Active Mode" or to switch to Secure FTP. Alternatively, you may export the site locally using " Export as HTML " and then you may use third party FTP client to upload the site to your third party hosting using Active or Secure FTP.
    Let me know if you have any further query.

  • Where we set update/insert for mapping in OWB

    Hi, I have got a mapping to load data into cube from source transaction tables. where exactly I need to set (in mapping) lodaing tape, insert/update.
    Could you please send me the flow in tool like mapping --> configure etc...
    Thanks much..
    Srini.

    thanks to all for your suggestions.
    After selecting the cube and if you see the Load Type in operator properties, it has onlyLOAD/REMOVE options.
    The other way I found to update the cube values is, mapping -> configure -> Runtime Parameter -> Default Operating Mode ... it should be selected as "Row based".
    Why I need to update cube is, if I add a column to cube and want to update that column alone for all the rows with a transformation rule from source.
    Thanks,
    Srini.

  • Equium - How to set quiet mode for CD drive?

    Hi I've got Toshiba notebook Equium series and recently I had to reinstall my Windows Vista.
    And now my CD-ROM is very noisy when read data from CD and the whole notebook is shaking.
    I remember that when I both it there was some option to put it in quite mode.
    I've download some firmware from this site but it was for different CD-ROM.
    So I'll be very grateful if some one tells me how to make it quite again.
    The CD-ROM is MAT****A DVD-RAM UJ-850S

    Hi!
    I dont know which notebook you have but on the Toshiba European website you can download the Acoustic Silencer.
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
    On my Satellite L300 I use the Acoustic Silencer and I like it. If I watch a DVD or listen music from CD I set the quiet mode.

  • Optimizer mode in oracle 10g

    what is the difference between setting optimizer mode in oracle 10g
    optimizer_mode=choose
    optimizer_mode=all_rows

    user446367 wrote:
    what i have to set for the below parameters . any idea ?
    optimizer_index_caching
    optimizer_index_cost_adjIn general you would leave them set at the default value in 10g (and probably, in most earlier versions, for most cases as well). Even if you were to change them, asking for specific values on an internet forum is rather asking for trouble, it's not dissimilar to asking "what should I set for the parameter processes?" A reasonable value will be application dependent.
    The first parameter reduces the cost of some types of indexed access by assuming that only the specified percentage of index i/o actually results in a physical I/O and therefore only that percentage of the io cost is taken into account. By contrast all tablescan access and the other types of indexed access are assumed to be uncached and therefore need costing.
    The second parameter just arbitrarily scales indexed access path costings.
    You could argue, and some have, that you could calculate a cache hit ratio for index blocks in much the same way as you can calculate a cache hit ratio generally and then set the first parameter to this value. The standout problems with this approach are
    1) It applies to all matching statements and objects not just your problem ones.
    2) It doesn't necessarily even apply to your problem statements.
    3) It doesn't have anything to do with query duration per se, just efficiency of one particular access path.
    4) People tend to choose to round costs down and make the likelihood of two plans getting the same cost and being chosen on a tiebreaker basis higher.
    The second parameter just asks you how much you like the idea of indexes generally. If you are going to change it pick a family members age or something - it'll make you smile every time you see it.

  • Optimizer mode confusion

    Hello experts,
    When we set optimizer mode to first_rows_100 or first_rows etc. The fetch rows doesn't change. I am trying to understand the differences between first_rows and all_rows. It gives preference to index scan against full table scan, even the index scan is no good. And also prefers nested loop over hash join. HOWEVER, except all these, please correct me if I am wrong, I do understand that first_nows_100 only fetch 100 rows regardless default fecth row, am I wrong? What do you think about the following example in terms of CONSISTENT GETS????

    the first_rows(n) hint is only about costing and instructs the optimizer to find a plan that returns the first n rows as fast as possible - though this approach may increase the total execution time for the query. This could be useful for applications that need only the top results most the time. Consider the following example:
    drop table t;
    create table t (
        col1 not null
      , col2
    as
    select mod(rownum, 100) col1
         , lpad('*', 50, '*') col2
      from dual
    connect by level <= 100000;
    exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(user, 'T')
    create index t_idx on t(col1);
    explain plan for
    select *
      from t
    where col1 = 1
    order by col1;
    select * from table(dbms_xplan.display);
    | Id  | Operation         | Name | Rows  | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time     |
    |   0 | SELECT STATEMENT  |      |  1000 | 54000 |   423   (0)| 00:00:03 |
    |*  1 |  TABLE ACCESS FULL| T    |  1000 | 54000 |   423   (0)| 00:00:03 |
    Predicate Information (identified by operation id):
       1 - filter("COL1"=1)
    explain plan for
    select /*+ first_rows(10) */
      from t
    where col1 = 1
    order by col1;
    select * from table(dbms_xplan.display);
    | Id  | Operation                   | Name  | Rows  | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time     |
    |   0 | SELECT STATEMENT            |       |    10 |   540 |    10   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |   1 |  TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID| T     |    10 |   540 |    10   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |*  2 |   INDEX RANGE SCAN          | T_IDX |       |       |     1   (0)| 00:00:01 |
    Predicate Information (identified by operation id):
       2 - access("COL1"=1)
    Obiously the hint changes the costing massively - and for the given query the top 10 results could indeed be returned faster by the index scan (though the difference would be small for this small example).
    The details of the costing are not that simple and they are described in Randolf Geist's presentation http://www.sqltools-plusplus.org:7676/media/FIRST_ROWS_n%20presentation%20UKOUG%202009.pdf (titled: Everything you wanted to know about first_rows_n but were afraid to ask).

  • Display mode for Material Description in MM02 for Partucular User/UsrGroup

    Dear friends,
    I required to set: Display mode for Material Description in MM02. (Configured thruu2019 Maintain field selection to data screen)
    For Particular User / User group, it should be Change mode. How to achive this. Please advice.
    Thanks and regards,
    RAMAN

    Hi,
    I don't think you can realize it, because in SAP system there are 6 influncing factors:
    Material Type
    Plant
    Industry sector
    Transaction
    Procurement indicator
    SAP Delivery
    Field selection is controlled by field references. You can assign field references to the influencing factors material type, plant, and industry sector in Customizing. SAP maintains the assignment of the field reference to the transaction codes, to the procurement types, and for the SAP delivery. You cannot change this assignment of these field references in Customizing.
    So from my point of view, you can't use the factors of material type, plant and industry sector to distinguish different users' authorization.
    Good day

  • AP: Unable to set world mode

    Cisco recommends using the world-mode dot11d country-code interface configuration command to configure a country code on DFS-enabled radios. The IEEE 802.11h protocol requires access points to include the country information element (IE) in beacons and probe responses. By default, however, the country code in the IE is blank. Use the world-mode command to populate the country code IE.
    I'm trying to set world-mode for AP1250 802.11n 5ghz but it doesnt recognize the command.
    AP(config-if)#world-mode dot11d US
                                                                   ^
    % Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
    The ^ is under "US"
    World-mode country code box is empty on the GUI and the CLI would not accept the command. Any idea on this one?

    Hello Derrick,
    As per your query i can suggest you the following solution-
    When world mode is enabled, the Cisco Access Point (AP) adds channel carrier set information to its beacon. Client devices with world mode enabled receive the carrier set information and adjust their settings automatically. For example, a client device used primarily in Japan can rely on world mode to adjust its channel and power settings automatically when that device travels to Italy and joins a network there. World mode is disabled by default.
    For more information on world mode, refer to the Enabling and Disabling World Mode section of Configuring Radio Settings.
    For more information on channels and antennas, refer to Channels and Antenna Settings.
    Note: The channels are hard-coded on AP chips. The world mode does not change the number of channels that are supported in a country. For example, in the U.S., channel 14 cannot be used even if world mode is configured.
    Hope this will work

  • Night mode in Maps (iOS 7)?

    How do I access Night mode for Maps in iOS 7? As promised during iOS 7 announcement.
    http://aol.it/1dsMBGx
    If it was supposed to be automatic, how come it stayed in day mode during the night?
    Is this feature supposed to show up at all?

    I did some testing.. First, the night mode is automatic only. There's no turning it on or off. There seems to be several different ways for it to work or not work..
    I'm not sure if time of day has anything to do with it, but the light sensor definitely does..
    Regular map mode does not appear to work in night mode
    Hybrid and satellite view do work in night mode. For me, sitting in my house, it's 7:35 PM and if I cover the light sensor the screen goes into night mode only in satellite view or hybrid (while stationary)
    The navigation in the regular map view (non-sat/hybrid) will also go into night mode. This is not always consistent though.
    I looked up an address using Yelp, then had it open the Maps app and I got directions. Night mode did NOT work. This was about 6:30 PM, but definitely pitch black outside and no lights on in the car.
    I later used a bookmark and got directions back using the bookmark. Night mode Worked.
    I tried repeating my directions from Yelp, but after trying several times, the night mode kicked in every time, however it seems to have a delayed start. It doesn't darken until the nav voice is almost done talking.

  • How do I set up Full Bridge Mode for port fowarding?

    How do i go about setting up Full bridge mode, for port forwarding on my Airport extreme's ? I Have two working to get coverage in my house, but I guess they need to be bridged together

    For most routers, including the AirPorts, bridge mode disables both the NAT & DHCP services. Since NAT is disabled, all of the firewall ports on the AirPort are open and thus port mapping/forwarding would not be reqiured. Therefore if you configure your AirPort as a bridge, the port mapping optios will not be available.
    Since you have two AirPort routers, you would only need to configure the AirPort that is NOT in bridge mode for port mapping to allow communicaton coming in from the Internet. This would typically be the AirPort attached directly to the Internet.
