Set Window & Panel Icons For Terminal Programs in Openbox

Perhaps I have not discovered the correct search terms to google this question & I may be just missing the obvious here. My Wife likes to have openbox with a tint2-vertical setup on her laptop. Is there a non-temporary way to set panel icons (and maybe window icons) for terminal based programs such as ranger, htop, ncmpcpp etc. After seaching I was able to set a icon I made for any terminal in the .xdefaults file. This does not allow the ability to distinguish between various terminal programs from the tint2 panel at a glance.

i noticed in the /usr/share/pixmaps folder there are already xpm/png icons for htop and xterm, however It appears to set the xterm icon in .xdefaults it has to be a xbm file. xbm files are not as visually elegant as xpm imo and so far I was only able to set the same icon it for all open xterms.
so
1. can i set separate panel icons that appear in tint2's panel for different terminal based programs?
2. is it possible to use xpm or even png files for such icons?
I would appreciate any help or a link to a webpage.

I have my assets from an older site, and want to start a site desktop site in muse. Is there a program ( maybe a book ) that can walk me through this step by step, instead of the Katie's Cafe demo / tutorial?
The problem with the tutorial is in the dark interface I have trouble seeing the small icons for the program functions.
I really need to setup a new site as soon as possible, but am not getting there right now.

Blank icons for some programs on dock

A few days ago, one of the programs I run frequently (World of Warcraft) began appearing as a blank icon on the dock. By "blank icon" I mean there is nothing there but an empty space, through which you can see the background image. There is the little lit circle underneath it, of course, to indicate a running program. I do not keep in icon for this game on the dock.
Today, it started happening to some other programs. As with World of Warcraft, this is only happening (so far) to programs I do not keep on the dock when they're not running. It's happening to Firefox, and just recently, it happened for System Preferences. However, it does not happen for all programs that aren't kept on the dock. I tried running two other programs, one that came with OS X (Chess) and one that did not (some game like Windows' Minesweeper), and it didn't happen for either of them.
What should I do to fix this?

Open Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter:
killall Dock
Press RETURN. The "D" in Dock must be capitalized.
See if that helps. You can also try deleting the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist file.

2 questions--I've tried the cookies/cache thing but when I try to register a site, it still says I have a problem with my cache and cookies setting, and my icons for tools, etc has disappeared from my tool bar, how do I get them back?

I did the self help to set private settings, delete cookies and no tracking of my visited website, and delete history...but when I try to register on a site to send them emails (comments) i keep getting sent back to an error page that my cache/cookie settings are not right!!! and then the icons for my "tools", etc that were on the upper right of my toolbar have disappeared and I want them back...where did they go and I can't find any help on the help menus to solve any of these issues..it's aggravating.

You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

Setting azure portal icon for new images

According to the Azure Service Management REST API, one should be able to set the icon to be displayed in the portal using the IconUri and SmallIconUri tags as described here.

I sent this command with these values set to the URLs for publicly available png icon files and created a new image. The image was created successfully and no errors were returned, however the icons displayed are still the default windows icons.
Is this feature disabled somehow or is there some other specification that needs to be set or addressed?
I could continue to try endless possibilities (like different sized icons or URL locations) but it seems like this should have worked according to the API specification since no other restrictions were stated.
Could someone please tell me how to get this to work?

I think this IconURI feature disabled.
Because in latest Azure Management Class libraries, this class libraries is based on latest Azure REST API.
You can't find IconUri property.

HT2493 I have a jpg file the image of which I wish to use as an icon for a program.

when I use the advised strategy of copying its icon to the icon in the info page of the program, I get a change -- but to the generic icon for jpg files, rather than the actual image of the content of the particular file.

You can convert the jpeg file to an icon file and use that as the image, with this application: img2icns
Drag the jpg onto img2icns window, save it as an icon. Copy and paste this as per the method you mentioned previously.

How to set my own icon for java frame ??

I create a java class it extends JFrame. I want to change default icon on the left_top corner and using my own icon. It is a --.gif file. How to do it. When I try to modify it using setIconImage( Image image), I met problem. I cann't new Image("--.gif"). I don't know how to create a Image object using a string(file name). According to the documentation setIconImage does the following: Sets the image to be displayed in the minimized icon for this frame. Not all platforms support the concept of minimizing a window.
So,
1) It does not change the icon in the top-left corner
2) It does not work on all platforms.

I dug up an old applet I had written for Cinnamon (based on another applet by Tjaart van der Walt), and upgraded it to work with Gnome 3.12
For some reason, I am not able to submit it to the AUR.
^^Mods: please help if possible - I keep getting a "Invalid name: only lowercase letters are allowed". error when I am trying to submit the tarball linked below.

Doing an icon for my program? please help

nowadays I am working on a program
that gets as a parameter your username and password
in gmail , and than you can send email through my program(I implemented the SMTP connection by myself)
anyway , today I finished it.
It works great
but How do I make an icon for it
I mean like , to run my program I need to enter to my code in eclipse and press run
How do I do that I can go directly to my program without entering eclipse and press run?
Do I need to make an applet for my program?

One way to deploy (have it run in a usual desktop environment) your program is to create a jar file.
There is a complete description of the process in Sun's Tutorial in the section on [Packaging Programs in JAR Files|Packaging Programs in JAR Files]. (You can also do this from within Eclipse as described in its documentation. But Sun's tutorial goes to some length to explain what's happening.)

Slider.verticalThumIcon ? How to set a custom icon for JSlider

Creating a icon for a program

Basically as the name says, i use a program called READY TO PROGRAM with java 1.7 and i just wanna know how can i make the program with an icon so i just click the icon and it runs???

your application, ready to program creates the .java file when you type in the code
the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) creates the .class file at compile time
the .class file contains bytecode
as Enc said jar stuff is to advanced for your level, so
on your PC somewhere there is a file called java.exe
you run this application (java.exe) from within the command promt
suggest you read up on installing Java, because you will have to set up class paths
when you have done that
in windows environment to access command promt
Start--->Run---> type command and hit enter
if your classpaths are set up properly, you can navigate around directories in the command prompt
and run your class files inside command promt from any directory
I did cheat a little and wrote a small peice of code (batch) that sets up classpaths for
javac.exe
java.exe
junit4.4
that only runs from a shortcut to command prompt on the desktop
I also have some cheat batch files so if in command prompt
jc runs javac.exe
jr runs java.exe
av runs appletviewer.exe

There is no customizing for this - atleast to my knowledge.
However, you should have to redo the settings again and again unless you are continuously re-sizing the main window.

Set Default Save Location for All Programs

What I need is a program that will set the default save folder (in all programs) to the same folder the current file came from.
If I do a "Save As" I want the folder in the Save dialog box to always be the folder the file is in.
This was brain-dead easy in OS 9 (General Control Panel, Save Location, Folder That is Set by the Application).
I cannot find a help file, a preference pane, an add-on program, anything to allow this.
If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it.

Why do I click on an icon for a program on a z10 and have the program immediately crash?

I'm having an issue with some programs from BlackBerry World on my z10. The programs download and install, but when I click on the icon to open the program, it immediately crashes & I go back to the home screen. How can I make these programs run?

No, it's more likely that they are android apps and there is something corrupted in the Android player and/or data.
Before this crashing happened did you see these apps start with a green status bar that never went all the way to completion?

Set Windows Integrity Level for Application at startup

Hi,
Yesterday I found a problem in my application that it had not have the same integrity level as Outlook. Therefore someone from microsoft adviced me to look at the integrity level and make them both the same. I managed to find a CommandPrompt command for
setting the integrity level, but what I really want is setting the integrity level at startup of my application.
How can I set the integrity level of my application to the desired level using C#?

I believe you can use the
/runas command line argument.
