SetAsyncTimerAttribute ASYNC_ATTR_INTERVAL fails to reset timer on Real-time system

The interval timer does not get reset when using a timer created in a real-time program (PXI chassis using NewAsyncTimerWithPriority). It works correctly on a non real-time system (Windows 7 Laptop using NewAsyncTimer).
Example of problem:
timer is set to 20 seconds (NewAsyncTimerWithPriority)
wait 15 seconds
timer interval is set to 30 seconds (SetAsyncTimerAttribute ASYNC_ATTR_INTERVAL)
timer fires 5 seconds later instead of 30 seconds
GetAsyncTimerAttribute returns the correct value as if it worked properly. Note that the timer fires every 30 seconds after the early firing in step 4. It appears that changing the interval on a real-time system does not reset the timer as stated in the help file "If the timer has already started, setting ASYNC_ATTR_INTERVAL resets the timer."
Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone seen this problem?
Using: LabWindows/CVI 2012, Real-time module 2012.

Hi Moxcoak,
You are right this is a known issue, the async timer does not reset properly in a RT system from CVI. We have already filed a bug report on it (#387902) and I will add your service request to that corrective action report to hopefully push it to be resolved faster. Meanwhile, I will try to find the best workaround for you. One option is to set a flag with the communication thread and check it with another asynchronous thread. I will get back to you with the details on how to implement that, but it would depend on your setup.

How to reset numbers in real time display in Cisco Supervisor Desktop?

I wonder about numbers in real time display in Cisco Supervisor Desktop. There are many statistic number for example : Call Handled, Max Talking, Avg Talking, Max Ready, Total Ready, Call abandoned, etc. Is there any way to reset those numbers back to zero? Please let me know.

I haven't tried that, but I'm very skeptical. The CAD Agent gets stats from two places - CTIOS and RASS. RASS keeps the call log information in a SQL Desktop Engine database.
Stats derived from CTIOS reset at midnight. Obviously, restarting the RASS service has no effect on those. Call log information is being kept in a database so it seems to me that a restart of RASS should also have no effect.
I guess I will have to try for myself.

Network GPS for racing lap time and real time spee...

I am looking for a Nokia phone whcih will work in Network GPs (not A-GPS) whcih I can use in Racing lap time recording along with the srealtime speed every where.
Is it possible to get in 5230 or X6 or any nokia phone with GPS connecting to three satellites.
I have seen that it will take 15 min to sync. I will be always on outdoor.
Please suggest me if I can use nokia phome to record my lap times in a race track

Provided you have a good clear view of the sky, any "proper" GPS (NOT network GPS) will work to a degree. However, none will be accurate enough to give you really good lap time info. Accuracy (even with a good consumer dedicated GPS device) will only be to 2-3m, and at high speed without a full view of the whole sky the chances are accuracy will be even less than that. So when the GPS records you crossing the start / finish line, it could be 10, 20, 30, 40m wrong.
The only way to get accurate timing data is to use a transponder.
Even runners will tell you that GPS's have a limited degree of accuracy, they'll often have you on the wrong side of the road etc. Whilst they are OK for timing you to the nearest second on a 3 mile run, they'd be useless for timing you to the nearest tenth or hundredth of a second over a lap.

assigned to Datasource and assigned the DS, IP, DTP to Deamon in RSRDA. NOW I started also manually via start all IP. but How to set the process chains now.

Gathering in real time employee time spent on WO

Currently, we our Manufacturing folks fill out a daily timecard so their time can be charge to work orders. This means we have to wait until the next day to complete work orders. Does anyone have a solution to gather an employee's time in real time and charge it to the work order so the work order can be closed quickly after the work is completed?
We are on 11.5.10.

Hi Catherie,
Oracle has Oracle Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that can address your requirement. With clock in/clock out feature, the actual time can be captured and charged to the work order in real time. The work order can be closed right after the work is completed.
Oracle MES can do much more than clock in/clock out. Here is the link to the Oracle MES datasheet. http://www.oracle.com/applications/manufacturing/manufacturing-execution-system-data-sheet.pdf
However, Oracle MES works with R12. If you plan to upgrade to R12, Oracle MES should be a perfect solution for you without complex and costly integrations with third party solutions.

Just guessing...
There are only two impacts to real time processing in java.
First the garbage collector. Since it runs at odd times. And ties up the rest of the application for unpredictable amounts of time a real time system will need another type of solution.
Second, threads. Because threads prempt each other this can also produce unpredictable behavior. Some usual solutions involve no threads at all. Or a way to preclude interruption.
Finally I suspect that if you do a literature search you would be able to find some papers on this subject.

Be sure that all DLL calls are thread safe (do not perform calls in UI thread).
Also for real-time application you need real-time OS.

LabVIEW2013,LabVIEW2013SP1(Real-Time付)インストールができない

LabVIEW2013,LabVIEW2013SP1（いずれもReal-Time付）インストールの件で困っています。
NIの技術サポートにも数度問い合わせていますが、解決していないので、皆様のお知恵を貸して頂ければと思い、投稿します。
経緯
2月末にLabVIEW2013（Real-Time付）を購入し、下記パソコンにインストールを行いました。
しかし、インストール中、度々エラーメッセージが表示されておりました。
パソコン： HP Compaq Elite 8300 US/CT
ＯＳ： Windows7 32bit PRO
パソコンも最近買ったものです
その後、LabVIEW2013SP1（Real-Time付）のDVDが届いたので、これをインストールしたところ、
やはりエラーメッセージが表示され、インストールが完全に成功していないようでした。
ただ、確認のため、同時に購入したPXIをMAXで認識させて、 Real-Timeのプロジェクトを作る準備ができるかなと思い、付属の手順のとおり作業しましたが、 Real-Timeのプロジェクトが作れませんでした。
（手順書のとおりできない・・・RealTimeに関する項目が出てこない）
また、サンプルファインダでReal-Timeのプログラムを探して開きましたが、絵のとおり!マークが表示されます。
インストールがうまくいっていないと思い、アンインストールとインストールを数度繰り返しています。
最初のLabVIEW本体のインストールは成功しますが、そのあとのReal-Time以降インストールが失敗し、あとはエラーメッセージが表示され、ほとんどインストールできません。何度か再インストールを行っていますが、いまだ解決に至っていません。
再インストールの際、行ったことは、
１．HP Protect Tools一式の削除（hp制のセキュリティソフト）
２．Intel Management and Security Statusの終了
３．ファイアウォールの無効化
です。
なお、３のファイアウォールの無効化の際、ドメインプロファイルのファイアウォールも無効にしたところ、再インストールの際の動作が改善し、その前よりもインストールできたソフトが多くなりました。
また、インストール作業の最後のほうで、「ファイアウォールが有効になっています」と毎回表示されます。
（ファイアウォールは無効にしているにも関わらず）
質問：
１．インストールに失敗する原因と解決策のヒントがありましたら、教えてください。
２．上記パソコンでのインストール成功例がありましたらお知らせください。
参考までに絵を添付します。エラーメッセージはいくつも出ていますが、抜粋して添付します。

まずReal Timeについて確認させてください。

一応の確認ですが、License ManagerでReal Time Moduleはどのような状態になっていますか？
アクティブ化されていれば添付のように緑色のアイコンになっているはずなのですが

Problems with real-time extraction from generic datasource.

Hello,
I have a real-time extraction from generic datasoruce with numeric field as a delta pointer. I have created an initilization infopackage, delta IP and real-time IP, real-time data transfer process, real-time deamon. The problem is that real-time extraction does not see delta updates. Deamon creates requests in PSA every minute, but there are all empty. When i delete the deamon and shedule not real-time delta infopackage, it loads delta records correctly. Version of BI - 7.0 SP 18.
The second question: a cannot stop real-time deamon. I stop it in RSRDA, but when i try to shedule standart IP, i get an error, that deamon is still running. So i have to delete it and recreate.
And the 3rd question, theoretical. What real-time extraction is necessary for? As i understand, i can create a process chain that will be sheduled every 1 (5, 10, ...) minute. What are advantages of real-time extraction rather such variant?

Attempt to build real-time application failed

When I try to build my real-time application in order to deploy it to a crio device, it fails. I can run the program just fine by opening it and clicking run. It can deploy and run all day that way, but it needs the computer that way too. So I need to be able to build and deploy it. When I do a build preview it completes just fine with no errors. I have set the program I want to start up as the startup and my subVIs virtual folder under always include. This is typical procedure for deploying projects to the crio.
When it crashes I am getting an error:
The build was unsuccessful.

With the fantastic help of applications engineer Will Schoettler, we were able to solve the problem.
1. First we tried creating a new project file from scratch, adding all the files and compiling the fpga. Same error.
2. Next we made individual builds deploying each subvi individually to see if one of them was causing the error. Each built without a problem.
3. I tried to create a new build for the main crio program and tweek the settings. Instead of manually adding the subvi and variable library folder to the 'always include' section of the build option, I simply added the main VI to the startup programs list and was going to let LabVIEW figure out which VIs to add. For some reason this gave me a more verbose error explanation and gave the following reason as the last sentance in the error explanation
"Due to operating system limitations, LabVIEW cannot create the folder because its complete path contains too many characters."
I moved the project folder to c:/ , fixed the broken references in the project, and it built the VI and deployed it just fine.
The builder creates a directory with a really long path name within your project folder, so if you have your project folder deep in your directory tree it will attempt to create files with paths too big for windows to handle.
Mad Kudos to Will Schoettler the app engineer for such a potent and thorough troubleshooting task list of things to try that lead me straight to the solution. I am glad it was something so simple and not some form of file corruption or something wrong with my code.

UCCX 10.5 Real Time Report shows "Not Connected"

UCCX 10.5 HA over LAN.
As per the title, RTR shows Not connected for both nodes and no data shown for all reports. all services are In service in both nodes.
Any Ideas?

Are you accessing this via the IE or FF? If so which version?
The Real time reporting on UCCX connects to the RMI port 6999 to pull the information on the Engine. If there are no port blockages or if there are no issues with the browsers, then it is a problem with the configuration files in root holding this information which needs in depth analysis.
A restart of the Engine also should help. I know that everything is IN SERVICE, but I have noticed a lot of issues on UCCX 10.5 when there are stuck calls on the system, it impacts RTR with the midnight stats reset.
The reset of the Engine is bound to clear all the stuck calls in the system and this may be a side effect of the stuck calls on the system especially if the RTR was working before you noticed the problems.
