SetProperty tag in Javascript

Can i use setProperty tag in javascript code, so that the newly entered value in the form element can be stored in the bean, which is persistant.

its a html type of tag and u can use it in place where u could use html tag No you can't.
JSP runs. It produces an HTML page which is sent to the client.
All the browser sees is pure HTML.
That is all the javascript can work with.
javascript can not invoke java code.
The only communication it has back to the server is to submit another HTTPRequest, either through a link, a form submission, or (more recently) using AJAX to send a request.

    I think that all your form parameters must begin with alowercase letters, for example
    startOfSession instead of StartOfSession
    try to rename your selectname paramters.
    Le me know if ti works,

  • Netui tags and javascript

              Hello Gang, not sure if anyone has run into this issue, but here it goes.
              I got a netui:form with netui:checkboxes that I need to have a specific type of
              functionality.
              The first netui:checkbox when checked calls a javascript function that enables
              the remaining netui:checkboxes so that the user can check them.
              Except the first netui:checkbox, all other netui:checkboxes need to be disabled

  • Overwriting the value of an html:hidden tag using javascript

    Hi!
    Can somebody help me with my problem?
    I need to overwrite the value of my html:hidden tag using javascript, but I dont know how?
    Any help?
    Thanks

    what are you talking about :x
    thats a webapplication question, wrong forum..
    But you are using STRUTS I would say...
    <html:hidden property="hiddenfield"/>This is the proper way of doing it.. but overrighting it
    I don't think you understand why we use that?
    It is only for forms.... we use that for hidden input ... It is common sence not to overrde that value.

  • Calling custom CF tag from javascript

    Could someone please help me by posting some psuedo code to
    call a custome cf tag from javascript? I am feeling pretty dumb but
    can't figure it out...
    Thanks bunches!
    Va.

    > ... call a custome cf tag from javascript...
    > ...Press button, call tag to export to excel ...
    Doing it with Javascript defeats the purpose of a custom tag.
    A custom tag is your own custom Coldfusion tag, hence to be used as
    a tag in a cfm or cfc page. I would instead have Javascript
    open the cfm page directly, thus
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Opening excel page with
    Javascript</title>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function openIt () {
    window.open("excelExport.cfm","_blank","height=300,width=500,status=yes,menubar=yes,resiz able=yes,scrollbars=yes");
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <FORM>
    <BUTTON name="btn" onclick="openIt();">open
    it</BUTTON>
    </FORM>
    </body>
    </html>
    excelExport.cfm
    ================
    <cfheader name="Content-Disposition" value="attachment;
    filename=testPage.xls">
    <cfcontent type="application/vnd.msexcel"
    file="C:\CFusionMX7\wwwroot\testPage.xls">
    Here follows code that does it the custom tag way. You will
    get the feel of redundancy immediately.

  • Using Strut Logic Iterate tag in JavaScript

    Has anyone tried this or experienced this problem.
    I have JSP pages with JavaScript imbedded. Not my web page but an out of the box portal we bought from a vendor. The JavaScript uses the Logic Iterate Strut tag but gives an error in Nitro:
    "feature is not resolved" on the lines where getLink() and getID() are called. I have put the code in other editors and it does not give me any error. Does any one have a clue to why this error occurs or is this something that NitroX can not handle?

  • Custom tag or javascript

    I have few JSP pages with input fields.
    I want to do vaildation for these input fields. (check if empty and popup message) Approach to do the same are:1.Define javascript and include the .js in all the JSPOR 2. Define custom tag for form and use it in all JSP when the <myform:> tag is used,this custom tag will add javascript function in JSP to check the fields in form I am not sure which approach is better.Suggestions are welcome.Thanks

    Javascript can be disabled.
    Whatever approach you use, back it up with validation on the server-side.

  • Rename an XML tag using javascript

    Dear adobe experts,
    I have a requirement to rename XML tags, in the interface for an adobe form, using javascript.
    the XML looks like this:
    <ELEMENT>
         <DATA>
              <ROW_IID>0</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </DATA>
         <DATA>
              <ROW_IID>1</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </DATA>
    </ELEMENT>
    and the result should look something like this:
    <ELEMENT>
         <CHAIR>
              <ROW_IID>0</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </CHAIR>
         <TABLE>
              <ROW_IID>0</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </TABLE>
    </ELEMENT>
    Is this possible and how can I do this? I was hoping that something like renameNode() (for instance) is also possible in the javascript set for adobe forms.
    If it's not possible I'm going to have to create new nodes, put the data from the existing node in the new node and remove the original node. This will be a lot more work and just renaming is easier :-).
    Kind regards,
    Niels

    Hi,
           Thanks a lot Jeff...
            I'm doing a huge program with lot of tasks. While doing that,my mind didn't strike to check if the tag is not already exist, then only to create new tag...  Thanks for all of the indesigner experts for their replies...
    I used the following codes with ur idea.
                        var renamewith = textbox1.text;
                        try
                            alert(app.activeDocument.xmlTags.item(renamewith).name);
                            if(app.activeDocument.xmlTags.item(renamewith).name)
                               var testTag = app.activeDocument.xmlTags.item(renamewith);
                        catch(e)
                            var testTag = app.activeDocument.xmlTags.add({name: renamewith});

  • How to include alt tags in Javascript

    how do I get the javascript in my navigation menu to be read from an external file (java include)?
    I've never learned how to create an external file so I'm a little hazy on how to accomplish this task.
    Thanks!
    Lynn

    Hi! Thanks for attempting to answer my question...frankly I'm not sure what I'm asking.
    My pages are coldfusion (.cfm) and I have two javascript areas on the page where there is a navigation menu and a set of swapping .swf files. what I believe my graphic department is asking me to do is to create a file in my includes folder that will provide the scripting for the menu and will include the alt tags for each of the items on the naviation menu.
    Not a friggin' clue on how to accomplish this...so I'm looking for a tutorial or tutor. the website is www.calibresys.com
    Thanks!

  • Dynamic changes of option tags in a Select tag using JavaScript

    I got this problem during my project.
    I used Select tag in HTML code.

    How can we change options dynamically using JavaScript?
    Please post solution to this problem..

  • Oracle tags and JavaScript

    Attention JavaScript and Oracle Guru's,
    My company has come up with a great requirement using JavaScript and dynamic pages to provide end users with a Systems Availability Information portlet, which scrolls text along the screen.
    This is as follows.....
    They want a Portlet which scrolls text along the screen on the users home page. This has been easy enough to implementbut now this information has to be supplied from the database (an Internal Systems Operation team input information into this table via a form)
    HmmmmOracle tags do not work within JavaScript. So I have created a hidden form on the outside of the JavaScript to pass in text.
    This works great with normal text variables, so I thought the addition of Oracle tags would be the next logical step needed to pass data from the database into the scrolling text Portlet.
    With use of the <Oracle> tags and hidden variables I have managed to come up with the following....
    <html>

  • How do I get the Photoshop layer tags in JavaScript?

    I asked this question at graphic design stack exchange but they pointed me here:
    http://graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/35374/how-do-i-get-the-photoshop-layer-ta gs-in-javascript?noredirect=1#comment48962_35374
    I want to do actions based on the tagged layer color (these thing 1) in Photoshop. I can't find a property inside the JavaScript documentation or the ExtendScript Toolkit that might contain the value.
    I'd prefer not to abuse the name for that, the layer tags look like a very clean solution to my problem. If only I could fetch them.
    Any Ideas?
    Kind Regards,
    Mii

    Hi, these functions will select all your layers with the specified color:
    use the command: selectAllByColor("red");
    function getIDXwithsameColor(TheColor){// search and return a list of indexes for the layers with the specified color
        var ref = new ActionReference();
        var toRet = [];
        try{activeDocument.backgroundLayer;var a=0 }catch(e){ var a = 1; };
        while(true){
          ref = new ActionReference();
          ref.putIndex( charIDToTypeID( 'Lyr ' ), a );
          try{var desc = executeActionGet(ref);}catch(err){break;}
            var cl = desc.getEnumerationValue(charIDToTypeID("Clr "));
            cl = typeIDToStringID(cl);
            var ls = desc.getEnumerationValue(stringIDToTypeID("layerSection"));
            ls = typeIDToStringID(ls);
            if(ls != 'layerSectionEnd'){
              if(cl == TheColor){
                toRet.push(a);
          a++;
        return toRet;
    function multiSelectByIDX(idx) {// selection function
      if( idx.constructor != Array ) idx = [ idx ];
        var layers = new Array();
        var desc = new ActionDescriptor();
        var ref = new ActionReference();
        for (var i = 0; i < idx.length; i++) {
              layers[i] = charIDToTypeID( "Lyr " );
              ref.putIndex(layers[i], idx[i]);
        desc.putReference( charIDToTypeID( "null" ), ref );
        executeAction( charIDToTypeID( "slct" ), desc, DialogModes.NO );
    function selectAllByColor(TheColor){// main function
      theSameClIDX = getIDXwithsameColor(TheColor);
      multiSelectByIDX(theSameClIDX);
    //...example::
    // selectAllByColor("none");
    //selectAllByColor("red");
    // selectAllByColor("orange");
    // selectAllByColor("yellowColor");
    // selectAllByColor("grain");
    // selectAllByColor("blue");
    // selectAllByColor("violet");
    // selectAllByColor("gray");

  • Select tag with JavaScript function

    I am using a selectOneMenu tag for navigation. After the selection I use a button to go to the selected page. I would prefer to go to the selected page without using an additional button. I think I have to use a JavaScript function with the attribute "onchange". How does this JavaScript function look like?

    I use something like this, it works fine
    <h:selectOneMenu id="selectedEndorsement" valueChangeListener="#{engageListServiceBean.changeEndorsement}" value="#{engageListServiceBean.selectedEndorsementNum}" onchange="submit()">

  • Accessing the FORM tag with Javascript.

    I ran into the following problem when writing the customization portion of a Java portlet.
    I have some JavaScript that I would like to have run when the customization form is submitted (ie, when the user clicks OK or APPLY).
    Normally, this is easy to do by specifying the 'onSubmit' event on the <FORM> tag. But I don't seem to have access to the FORM tag
    since it's being generated on the fly by Oracle Portal.
    So, how do I set up my code/portlet so that I can have some Javascript executed due to the onSubmit event?

    I may not be understanding the problem correctly so you may have already tried this:
    You should be able to dynamically adjust any form tag's attributes after the form's been generated, you just need to know how it's identified. If Portal isn't assigning it a consistant name you can use, you still might be able to adjust it. If you can place a piece of code "inside" the form, you could access the form tag with: "this.form.onSubmit = ..." That might be your best bet, but the "this" scope can be weird if I remember right. If you don't know that your code will always be inside the form tags, your other choice would be to write a function that will iterate over each form in the frameset and test for a input field name/value that you know is unique to your form. Then you'll be able to identify the form, and finally set the onSubmit value to whatever you want.
    Here's some pseudo javascript (I'm too lazy to go grab my reference guide to refresh my memory about the actual syntax you'd use) that might get you started:
    foreach form in parent.forms {
    if (form.foobar.value == "myUniqueValue") {
    var gotmyform = form;
    I think. :) It's been a while since I've done such a thing, but that's what I remember.
    I don't know squat about Portal (that's why I'm here poking at these forums), so I could be completely off base. If so, I'm sorry.
    Good luck,
    Sean

    Dear frnd,
        Danq for your response..I can't use DLV_DATE for this requirement..
