Setter method not getitng called in the custom tag

Hi,
I have written a custom tag and I have declared an attribute in the tld file and have specified the setter method for the same in the java tag file but that setter method is not getting called...for rest of the attributes, the methods are getting called and not just for one!! any idea what could be the problem....

Getter & Setter Method not getting called for a field enhanced through AET

I am new to SAP CRM 7.0 and working on a requirement.
A Z-field was added by our functional guy in CRM 7.0 WebGui through AET in the 'Create Opportunity' transaction (Header data).
Now the requirement is, as soon as the opportunity is created through the WebGui, I should post a document in R/3 and paste that document number back to the enhanced Z-field in opportunity.
Work done by me:
I pressed F2 on the enhanced Z-field in the WebGui screen and took the details of view, component name etc. After this I went to normal SAP CRM system and open tcode "BSP_WD_CMPWB", located the corresponding view "BT111H_OPPT/Details" and right clicked & enhanced the same.
Then I opened the structure of this view, expanded context node, located context "BTOPPORTH" and inside this, located my Z-attribute. Now right clicked on the Z-attribute & selected the option "Generate SETTER & GETTER Methods" and these were generated successfully.
Problem:
The problem is even after putting external break points in these methods, these methods are not getting called while creating, modifying & displaying the Opportunity in WebGui.
I hope that for the requirements that I have, I have to do the coding in "Getter & Setter" methods. But since these are not getting called, I am unable to proceed.
Please help/suggest how to achieve this.

Hi,
If you can see the field in UI and still get_ method is not being triggered then try to regenerate these methods. If it still doesn't work then please look for SAP notes or raise an OSS.
There should be some note for the issue you faced.

Set methods aren't called

For some of my managed beans, the set methods are not being called for the properties. Instead, it appears that the get methods are being called, and it modifies the reference in order to modify the stored property. I am using Facelets 1.1.12, MyFaces 1.1.4, and tomcat 5.5.17 (the one bundled with netbeans). The bean is a Spring managed being, which JSF accesses through Spring's DelegatingVariableResolver.

I have a Java object which has a field which references another object. On my jsf page, I have:
<h:inputText value="#{myBean.innerObj.val}" />When the form is submitted, the setVal method in innerObj is called, but the setInnerObj method in myBean is not called. Instead, it calls getInnerObj and probably uses the reference to modify the object.

Getter/setter methods -- how do I use the return values

I'm just learning Java, and I haven't been to this site since the end of July, I think. I have a question regarding getter and setter methods. I switched to the book Head First Java after a poster here recommended it. I'm only about a hundred pages into the book, so the code I'm submitting here reflects that. It's the beginnings of a program I'd eventually like to complete that will take the entered information of my CD's and alphabetize them according to whatever criteria I (or any user for that matter) choose. I realize that this is just the very beginning, and I don't expect to have the complete program completed any time soon -- it's my long term goal, but I thought I could take what I'm learning in the book and put it to practical use as I go along (or at lest try to).
Yes I could have this already done it Excel, but where's the fun and challenge in that? :) Here's the code:

I have a general idea, that getters get a result from the method and setters set or maybe assign a value to variable. I submitted this code on another site, and one of the responders told me I wasn't using the returned values from the getter methods (he also told me about using a constructor method, but I haven't got that far in the book yet.). The program compiles and runs fine, but I can't seem to figure out how I'm not using the returned values from the getter methods. Please help and if you can explain in 'beginners terms,' with any code examples you think are appropriate. It will be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I'm not a professional programmer -- I'm learning Java because of the intellectual exercise and the fun of it. So please keep that in mind as well.

But this is something every new programmer goes through, and I will not spoil the fun. You see, in 3 to 6 months when you have learned much more Java, assuming you stick with it, you will look back at this and be like "what the hell was I thinking" and then realize just haw far you have come. So enjoy that moment and don't spoil it now by asking for what could have been better/ more efficient. If it works it works, just be happy it works.

So please keep that in mind as well.First, if you posted this somewhere else you should link to that post, it is good you at least said you did, but doubleposting is considered very rude because what inevitably happens in many cases is the responses are weighed against each other. So you are basically setting anyone up who responds to the post for a trap that could make them look bad when you double post.
You are setting you getters and setters up right as far as I can tell. Which tells me that I think you grasp that a getter lets another class get the variables data, and a setter lets another class set the data. One thing, be sure to use the full variable name so you should have setRecordLabel() and getRecodLabel() as opposed to setLabel() and getLabel(). Think about what happens if you go back and add a label field to the CDList class, bad things the way you have it currently. Sometimes shortcuts are not your friend.
And yes, you are using the getters all wrong since you are not saving off what they return, frankly I am suprised it compiles. It works because you don't really need to use the getters where you have them since the CDList Record (should be lowercase R by the way) object already knows the data and uses it in the printout() method. Basically what you are doing in lines like:
Record[x].getArtistName();is asking for the ArtistName in Record[x] and then getting the name and just dropping it on the floor. You need to store it in something if you want to keep it, like:
String artistName = Record[x].getArtistName();See how that works?

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

Date not being displayed in the custom format

I have a problem wherein i am unable to change the format of the date.
I need the date to be in the format 'January 10,2010.' however the date is being displayed as '1/10/10'. I have tried all options for the date formatting. I specified the custom format as 'MMMM D,YYYY' as mentioned in the SAP Library. I am trying to use the std custom options like YYYY-MM-DD, the date is not being dispalyed in the custom format provided by SAP either.
I have binded date from the context, used the Current Date field provided by SAP. Nothing works.
Its not working on the new form. However the old forms have the same kind of formatting and are being displayed as desired.
Please suggest as to what the issue could be.

Even I'm encountering the same issue. I'm trying to control the outputted date format programmatically.Please have a look.

Here I've tried to convert the date to external format using a fixed format(MM/DD/YYYY). But still it's getting outputted in the format DD/MM/YYYY only as that's the way its defined in the User Master!
Is there any solution for this? How can I 'override' defaults in the SAP User Master?

It looked in Mail, which had 5 email accounts set up in it, and for some reason picked the only one that I no longer use because it is for a school that I no longer attend. How can I fix it so that it syncs with the correct email account for notes and calendar? There don't seem to be any settings available other than to check if you want to use the basic features. It also said during the set up that it was setting up 'find my mac' but if I look on the iCloud website there is nothing showing there for finding my mac.
At this point I feel like I wasted my money paying for this supposed upgrade. I got nothing for it but frustration. It even automatically set my security settings to allow only downloads from the Mac store so the first time I went to download something I had to stop what I was doing and go correct settings first. I feel like there should be a security setting to block downloads from the Mac store so I don't accidentally end up clicking the wrong thing and being charged.

iCloud isn't syncing them on your phone. You simply added the email account to your phone and enabled calendar and notes syncing with the email provider, and the calendar and notes appear in the calendar and notes apps on your phone. You can do this with Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP account. iCloud email is just another IMAP account, but syncs notes with Apple's iCloud server just as Gmail syncs notes and calendars with Google's server.
iCloud didnt' set up a non-iCloud account on your Mac. When you check Mail in System Preferences>iCloud, it only creates an iCloud email account. You can also add other email accounts to your Mac by going to System Preferences>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicking on the "+" sign on the bottom of the left sidebar. If you added these other email accounts to your Mac before you upgraded to Mountain Lion, these were simply maintained on your Mac after you upgraded.

XMP data not showing up in the custom file info panels when upgraded to CC

For several versions of Photoshop, I have been able to use a modified custom file info panel to input, update, and track psd files. With each version of photoshop there are always some changes in the way the object data is handled. The lastest challenge is:
1. XMP data not showing up in the custom file info panels when upgraded CC from CS6.
2. Raw data is not visible in CC in the File info panel.
3. This occurs in new documents where we create the xmp wrapper while the file template is built.
4. When metadata is manually entered into the file, the data is not added to the XMP wrapper when it is recreated on the save.
5. When a file that was created in CS6 is opened that contains the Metadata in the file info template. It is visible. the Raw data is also visible. Once the XMP wrapper is recreated - write and then close. The data is no longer available. the Raw data will not pull up in the file info panel.
Any feedback or a direction will be appreciated.

I have a script that the user runs to input xmp data into a Customized version of the generic file info panel. it is data that is gathered from the user when the psd file is created. once the file is open in photoshop. the information is visible in the File info panel , the raw data, and as a schema addition in the advanced tab.
in CC the nodes and the children of the XMP packet have changed positions. so that the XML -this.XMP.child(0).appendChild(this.createNode())
is no longer the node that can be appended.
Where XML.child(0).elements().length(); would enable the xmlns to be added in CS6

Finding the custom tag name from inside the tag handler

I searched the forum, but couldnt find the answer (or in the API). In my custom tag handler, I want to know what the name of the custom tag was. Is this possible?

Hmm, that's unfortunate. Thanks a lot for your work. I had a feeling since it wasn't in the API that it wasn't possible. Here's why, and maybe they will add this feature later...
We are making our own tags for buttons on our app (the button will be an HTML table, with a clickable background, that looks like an image, but isnt).
The HTML designers want tags they can drag and drop to the screen in DreamWeaver, including visual feedback on what they dragged and dropped. So the tag <fast:blueButton>Continue</fast:blueButton> will show a blue button image in dreamWeaver with "Continue" as the text. There are a lot of parameters to set for each button, like height, width, border, etc. that will be configured in an XML config file for each button.
It would be nice if all the buttons we invent in the tld point to the same generic button class, and when the generic button class runs, sees which button called it, and gets its config from an XML file.
This way the designer could add more buttons with the tld and XML config, and no more java classes are needed. However, if a generic button is sent with a type param: <fast:button type="blue">Continue</fast:button> then there is no visual feedback in the tool (in the first case we could have set the fast:blueButton to be the image of a blue button) and it cant be picked from a list in the tool (the designer needs to remember which types exist). It seems not important to programmers, but for designers it is important.
Oh well, I will see if there is another way to NOT have tons of Java classes to support.

Not able to see iby_fd_extract_ext_pub custom tags of in XML data

I have customized the iby_fd_extract_ext_pub package to add the custom tags in the payment format xml data.Package status is valid but I am not able to see any of the custom element in the XML Data.
Please share your experience if you faced similar issue.

1. Do not prefix it just put your code in and compile - unless you want to call XX_IBY_FD_EXTRACT_EXT_PUB from IBY_FD_EXTRACT_EXT_PUB to have minimal impact to IBY_FD_EXTRACT_EXT_PUB.
2. You won't be able to put in an additional parameter, you'll need to derive the Payment Process Profile from SQL by linking from payment document to payment process to payment process profile; or just get the org from, say, the first invoice in the batch - as long as you always group by organization this will be fine.
3. Yes, it is probably that a patch will overwrite your customization - make sure you test it after each IBY patch - use applcust.txt and make sure your DBA's check adpatch logs for the file being overwritten!

Problem Calling Query in Custom Tag

I am using this code to call a custom tag called
broadcast.cfm
<cf_broadcast query="fe" orgID = "4">
The query fe is an included file on my site and is available
to the page I'm calling the custom tag from.
In the custom tag I am referencing the query like:
<cfloop query="#attributes.query#">
but I keep getting this error:
"The value of the attribute query, which is currently "fe",
is invalid. "
I must be missing something really simple here but can't
figure out what.

It is a scoping problem. The query is defined in the calling
page. To access it by name, within the custom tag, use the "caller"
scope.

If the query object is passed to the custom tag via an

I am facing this issue on one of my system, but the same code is working fine in my other systems. I have tried re-insatlling jdev and importing all the files.
But still facing the same issue.. This might be some jdev issue in specific system ?

Confusion about get/set method not working

     This code finds data from a database(this works as it also prints a report). Here is the extraxt of my get/set method which is located in a "context" class.

but when I try to use it again it displays 0.0This seems to mean that either the value has been reset or you are calling the method on another (new) ReportListener.
It's hard to say, as you didn't provide us with the code sample that illustrate the corresponding scenario (did you?.)
Note that I didn't get into details, but I just noticed that your actionPerformed method first print weekly report, and then get the money total. (Shouldn't it be the opposite order?)
