Setting a dynamic expiration date in User Task in BPEL 10.1.3.1

I have a user task / human workflow activity within a BPEL 10.1.3.1 project. I need to be able to set the expiration date of the task dynamically that gets assigned within this worklist.
I have been able to use the Human Task Wizard screen (<usertask>.task) to hard code the expiration time. Using the Fixed Duration option of days, hours or minutes. I have tried to use the 'By Expression' to do this but have been unable to get it to work. I have tried to select the /task:task/task:systemAttributes/task:expirationDuration or the /task:task/task:systemAttributes/task:expirationDate element within the task workflow xsd but are unsure how to get it to read the date. I have tried to assign a time component to expirationDate and a time period P0DT0H20M to the expirationDuration element.
Has anyone had experience of this or know whether it can be done? Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I agree with David.
The lexical representation for duration is the ISO 8601extended format PnYn MnDTnH nMnS, where nY represents the number of years, nM the number of months, nD the number of days, 'T' is the date/time separator, nH the number of hours, nM the number of minutes and nS the number of seconds. The number of seconds can include decimal digits to arbitrary precision.
The values of the Year, Month, Day, Hour and Minutes components are not restricted but allow an arbitrary unsigned integer, i.e., an integer that conforms to the pattern [0-9]+.. Similarly, the value of the Seconds component allows an arbitrary unsigned decimal. Following ISO 8601, at least one digit must follow the decimal point if it appears. That is, the value of the Seconds component must conform to the pattern [0-9]+(\.[0-9]+)?.
An optional preceding minus sign ('-') is allowed, to indicate a negative duration. If the sign is omitted a positive duration is indicated.
For example, to indicate a duration of 1 year, 2 months, 3 days, 10 hours, and 30 minutes, one would write: P1Y2M3DT10H30M. One could also indicate a duration of minus 120 days as: -P120D.
Reduced precision and truncated representations of this format are allowed provided they conform to the following:
* If the number of years, months, days, hours, minutes, or seconds in any expression equals zero, the number and its corresponding designator may be omitted. However, at least one number and its designator must be present.
* The seconds part may have a decimal fraction.
* The designator 'T' must be absent if and only if all of the time items are absent. The designator 'P' must always be present.
For example, P1347Y, P1347M and P1Y2MT2H are all allowed; P0Y1347M and P0Y1347M0D are allowed. P-1347M is not allowed although -P1347M is allowed. P1Y2MT is not allowed.

  • How to set dynamic expiration date in User Task

    Hi

  • How to set the Expiration Date for a task which is been assigned explictly.

    Hi,
    When I assign a task to myself and not work on it for couple of weeks the task is getting released automatically into the original unassigned pool. The TaskActionHandler WSDL is causing that to happen. I don't want a task to be automatically released into the pool when I don't work on it for couple of weeks, how can I make that happen? TaskActionHandler is something which comes with the BPEL so I can't change the way how it behaves. Do I need to set the expiration date or duration explicitly when a task is created?then how do I do that?
    If anybody could let me know how to make TaskActionHandler not to release a dehydrated task, I would be glad.
    Thanks,
    Mythili.

    Hi,
    Make AUTO RELEASE a restricted action for the task by adding the following line:
    <restrictedAction>AUTO RELEASE</restrictedAction>
    to the <restrictedActions> tag in the task configuration file.
    Works effectively.
    Alternatively, you can specifiy the auto release durations on a per task priority basis. There is more on that in the BPEL Dev Guide.

  • How to set password never expires for a user?

    Hello,
    I can't seem to find in the Administrative Console a place to enable "Password never expires".
    I know that if I edit the USR_PWD_NEVER_EXPIRES field in the OIM DB and put the value '1' it will work.
    However, I'd like to know how and if it is possible to activate this option on a user via OIM.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tomic

    Hi,
    Now I got it.Try this one.
    In FormMetaData.xml you will find.
    <Attribute name="-13" variantType="String" dataLength="1" map="Users.Password Never Expires" />
    Modify it to.
    <Attribute name="-13" variantType="String" dataLength="1" displayComponentType="CheckBox" map="Users.Password Never Expires" />
    Add this in.
    <Form name="3">
    <AttributeReference editable="true" optional="true">-13</AttributeReference>
    I never need this but I hope above will work.
    About disabling the resource I have few suggestion for you.
    1.You can have your password policy consistent across the resources you are integrating in OIM.
    2.Write an entity adapter so that when ever password is expired then can disable all provisioned user.
    3.Alternatively you can also write a schedule task which will check for password expire date and disable the resource.
    4.You will also need to enable the resources when password is changed.You can catch change password event through event handler or entity adapter.
    Please let me know if you have fllow up questions.

  • Problem in setting dynamic expiration duration from Human Task

    Hi,
    I have a BPEL process, in which the Human task expiration has to be set dynamically..
    In the , I have set the expiration duration with this :-
    <copy>
    <from expression="xp20:format-dateTime(xp20:current-dateTime(),'PT1M')"/>
    <to variable="initiateTaskInput" part="payload"
    query="/taskservice:initiateTask/task:task/task:systemAttributes/task:expirationDuration"/>
    </copy>
    Do not get confused with 'PT1M' .. I want the duration to be 1 minute... Had I used 'PT1M' as a String and assign to the expirationDuration var, it would have caused an error... It needs to be fromatted as a Date..That's y i took this approach ... I am sure this is working fine as I have checked the payload of the task..
    It has a proper duration..
    <initiateTaskInput><part xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" name="payload"><initiateTask xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/taskService">
    <task xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/workflow/task">
    <systemAttributes>
    <expirationDuration>PT1M</expirationDuration>
    Now in the Human task definition(.task file), I have set the expiration duration with "By Expression" option in this way..
    <globalConfiguration>
    <owner>oc4jadmin</owner>
    <expirationDuration duration="/task:task/task:systemAttributes/task:expirationDuration"
    type="XPATH"/>
    </globalConfiguration>
    The problem is the task(at runtime) cannot evaluate the expirationDuration from the XPATH..
    I checked with the WF_TASK table in the orabpel schema ...
    When I use a static duration EXPIRATIONDURATION cloumn gets assigned properly (ie PT1M).. But when i take the XPATH approach, it translates to PT0S.
    Can someone look into this please ?
    Struggling with this for quite sometime...
    saptarishi

    If the Human Task shows status complete, then it's possible that there was an error in the output data association in the process. In EM do you see a fault on the output for the Human Task activity, or if PS4FP the process will go to suspended state if the data association fails.

  • Human task notification after due date/expiration date/...

    I would like to set a due date (or expiration date) to Human task, and set some notification before this time. Ok, it seemed very easy:
    - i set due date to 5 minutes in human task -> Deadlines
    - i set notifications in human task -> notification and in tab Advanced i set remind once 2 minutes before due date
    Nothing happens. Exactly same (nothing) happens when i do the same with expiration date.
    But what exactly is meaned under word "Reminder"?
    It's mail? (then where I have to set email adress? I tried to set a "to" field in human task -> notification -> tab Advanced -> notif. header attributes => nothing happened)
    It's worklist inbox message?
    Or what ist "reminder" and how it should remind me?

    Hi,
    I don’t know if you’ve managed to resolve this issue yet and you mention you have emails working from BPEL, but I'm not sure if you've got any notifications working for the Human Task, if not then I have done some work with the human task notifications and although I’ve not tried to do what you’re doing, this is what I have learned.
    Firstly to receive any notifications you need to configure the Messaging Driver and Workflow Notification Properties…
    In Enterprise Manager expand [farm] -> SOA -> soa-infra
    Right click soa-infra and choose SOA Administration -> Workflow Notification Properties
    Underneath the page title (Workflow Notification Properties) is a note telling you to configure the Messaging Service Driver. Click the "Go to the Messaging Driver page" link.
    In the associated drivers section you will have a single entry for soa_server1 (or what ever it's called for you). In the right hand column there is a button for configuring the driver, click this.
    In the driver specific configuration, scroll down to OutgoingMailServer and enter the hostname or IP address of your mail server, then click Apply at the top of the screen.
    Now go back to the Workflow Notification Properties screen and choose “Email” from the notification Mode and enter some sensible email addresses in the Notification Service section. It’s useful to have real email addresses in here at the moment because any failures will be returned to this address.
    You now need to restart Weblogic for these changes to take affect.
    After the restart you can test the notifications by doing the following
    Back in Enterprise Manager expand [farm] -> SOA -> soa-infra
    Right click soa-infra and choose Service Engines -> Human Workflow
    Click on the Notification Management tab.
    You can click the "Sent Test Notification" button to make sure everything is working ok. This screen also allows you to monitor notifications for failures.
    Now that the notifications have been set up you can configure who gets notified on which events against your human task in JDeveloper.
    The email addresses for the users are retrieved from your identify provider for the relevant user, by default this is the internal LDAP directory. I’m not using this, so I’m not sure exactly how this will work. There are options in the worklist application for individual users, but I’m not using this either.
    Now that this is set up you can configure the human task within JDeveloper. On the notification tab you can decide who gets notified when. By default when a task is assigned to a user, the assignees are notified, you can play about with these settings to see what works best for you. Have a look at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_workflow.htm#BABBHDGF for more information.
    I’m not sure I’ve solved your problem, but I hope this at least helps.

  • Script Add bulk user with CSV, and set expiration date

    After importing the AD module, the line:
    Set-ADAccountExpiration -identity JohnDoe -timespan "365"
    Works just fine, but how would you automate this with a script that would read a csv-file. The -identity cmd dosen't seem to like my $SAM setup. Perhaps it's a better way to get-aduser and pipe it to set-accountexpiration. Is there a swift way to add the
    expire date to the user I just created with my CSV-file?
    Thanks!

    Thank You!
    You're very welcome.
    -AccountExpirationDate parameter of New-ADUser only seem to work with -DateTime, a specific date, while -TimeSpan is optimal for this solution.
    You can use Get-Date's AddDays method to generate a datetime object for use in this situation, see the code I'm posting below for an example.
    Now on to the next challange to warn me when they reach "32" days before expiration. Was thinking of running a Task Scheduled bath file that could collect number of days left and report it if below the mentioned days.
    Here's one method you can use for finding these users:
    $cutoffDate = (Get-Date).AddDays(32)
    Get-ADUser -Filter * -SearchBase 'OU=Users - TEST,DC=domain,DC=com' -Properties AccountExpirationDate |
    Where { $_.AccountExpirationDate -and $_.AccountExpirationDate -lt $cutoffDate }

  • Unable to set completion due date on a task in wli 10.3

    In the task plan that I have created I have set the property "Completion Due Date" to 7 days in the properties tab for the step, yet when I view that task that gets created from this in the Worklist User Portal the Completion Due date is still not set.
    I have also tried doing this programatically by doing the following:
    this.StepName.getTaskControl().getTaskData().setCompletionDueDate(this.completionDueDateCal.getTime());
    where completionDueDateCal = current Date + 7, and then view in the Worklist Portal and still no completion due date.
    So far the only success that I have is if I manually set the date while viewing the task in the Worklist User Portal.
    Any help would be appreciated. I am ultimately trying to the task to expire after a set period of time(7 days).
    Thanks

    HI,
    Customizing the Task List
    You can customize the column headers or search for required tasks by clicking on Customize Table Header. The option allows you to specify the columns to be showed in the list table, to provide the sorting order, and to set the page size. The sorting order could be complex with option to provide multiple columns for sorting and the order (ascending/descending) for each of them.
    To create a custom query and search for tasks:
    1.In the Task List page, click Customize Table Header.
    In the Construct a Custom Query form, specify the search criteria by specifying any of the following values.
    2.Enter the task name. You can use the * character at the start or the end of the name.
    3.Enter the task ID. Separate multiple values using comma.
    4.Select the check box against the Administration and Working state of the task.
    5.Enter any comment. You can use regular expression.
    6.Enter the priority range.
    7.Enter the Assignee, Owner, or Claimant names.
    8.Specify the completion due date range.
    9.If required, select the Include tasks with no completion due date check box.
    10.Click Apply.
    All tasks that match the specified criteria are displayed in the Task List page.
    To customize the table header:
    1.In the Task List page, click Customize Table Header. The Construct a Custom Query form appears.
    2.In the View form, select the columns that you want to view in the Task List page.
    3.Select the Preserve Search Criteria check box to retain these details for the current session.
    4.Select the maximum number of search results that should be displayed on the page.
    5.Select the number of rows that should be displayed in the page.
    6.Click Apply.
    The view in the Task List page is updated based on the current settings.
    Using this option you can set the completion due date
    Hope this information will help you solve the issue.

    Hello,
    I have a couple of environments I recently installed:

    I heard that you can do this through the Oracle Directory Manager. However, I am unsure as which server to enter on the field. I've used the following:
    <servername>.hostname.com/389
    <DBname>.hostname.com/389

    For the servername, it's the name of your server and the port is depending of your platform (have a look to $ORACLE_HOME_INFRA/install/portlist.ini) and

  • How do you set the expiration date of a secure zone?

    I am trying to set up a form where a user can sign up for access to a secure zone for 1 year. How do I set the expiration date of the secure zone for them to expire one year after they sign up for it?
    I have tried using a hidden field named "ZoneExpiry" (I have tried "ExpiryDate" as well) in the form and set its value attribute manually in the HTML (with the format 13-May-13), and the expiration date always ends up being 31-Dec-9999.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    I have done this.
    Have a hidden input field on form  <input name="ZoneExpiry" id="ExpiryDate" />
    Then have a function as follows:
    var dat=new Date();
                                                      dat.setDate(dat.getDate() + 365);
                                                      var monthname=new Array("Jan","Feb","Mar","Apr","May","Jun", "Jul","Aug","Sep","Oct","Nov","Dec")

    Hope this helps.
