Setting applet size

I know the answer to this question is possibly no, but I just thought of asking it anyway.
Is there anyway in which an applet size can be set and remain static when the user tries to resize the applet by the use of the cursor?If this could be done it would save me alot of time.

Hello everyone,
I have coded a small animation and wanted to use audio file (.au) to add sound to my applet. But for some reasons it does not want to read my .au file. I tried different .au files, but with no result.
I am using eclipse and while it (eclipse) compiles it creates 2 directory: src and bin and saves file.java and file.class in them respectively. I placed my .au file(s) in both of them......nothing happened. Though I added a .jpg file to these directories for the background to test how it works and it works fine with it. And not forget to mention that these .au files play fine without using java.

I wanted this .au file to play as long as the y_pos does not reach the point 200So, play() it before the while loop, and stop it afterwards (or whenever y reaches 200).
To begin with you should just write some code to make the sound play - and if there is a problem with the size of the file, resolve that first.
By the way, can anyone tell me where eclipse saves the html code for the applet? I don't think there is any html code. Eclipse uses an applet viewer. Try putting the html <aplet> information as a comment near the start of your file.

How to set the size of a class that extends JDialog

Unable to set JPanel size in BorderLayout.CENTER

I have a class that defines a GUI for a paint-type program. This class extends JPanel. Within the class, I add a JMenu, a vertical JToolbar to the WEST, a JPanel to the SOUTH and lastly, I add the JPanel that the user draws on in the CENTER.
From my understanding of the BorderLayout, the CENTER object will take up the remaining available space. The program is run from an applet (which has a setPreferredSize() but it does not seem to affect anything - I think b/c the size specified for the applet in the HTML override it). Anyway, when I set the size of the applet in the HTML, the JPanel in the SOUTH gets cut off. In order to fit it, I have to make the size of the applet bigger - but that makes my CENTER JPanel too big. I need the CENTER JPanel to be a certain size b/c I'm saving the image - which needs to be a certain size.
I do not understand why the JPanel SOUTH is getting cut off. The JToolBar on the WEST is not that big that it should be governing the size, rather it seems like that JPanel in the CENTER is. I've tried setPreferredSize() and setSize() for that CENTER JPanel, but neither of them seem to help.
I'll appreciate any thoughts/suggestions - I can elaborate or send code if needed. Thank you all in advance.

Try using setMinimumSize() and setPreferredSize() for all the other components in the frame other than the CENTER Jpanel. For example, if you want you applet to be 300 pixel high by 500 pixels wide, and you want the centre panel to be 200 x 400 pixels, set the other components as follows:

Applet Size/Object Size

hello,
why does the applet size / the object size when viewed in windows and linux is different. If the user uses Windows as the client PC the size is correct but when the same is viewed in Linux workstation its totally different. everything seems to be small. All the modules were created in windows but compiled and generated the fmx using linux and they are deployed in the linux server. Since the modules were developed in windows i understand there is some conflict with DPI and what we did was put a new parameter in the forwsweb.cfg and it worked. but that parameter has effect only if the browser is Internet Explorer. If i run the same using mozilla or firefox bcos linux workstation uses either mozilla or firefox. so what ever the values i specify for clientDPI no effect at all bcos the browser is not internet explorer. You might suggest me to develope everything in linux and set all the size there itself. But i cannot do that bcos we have more than 400 forms and developing or making changes is very very time consuming and its not practical for my situation.
If you suggest me how to play around with the motiff settings in linux then I dont think the linux(fedora core1) is using those setting anymore.
If any one can give me suggestions how to work around it that will be great.

Form fields have some restrictions if your are using version lower than 11g.
They can accommodate only 393 chars. You can add the text in both status bar and help key, which can in total consume 393 chars.
If your code logic is more than that, it can be split into multiple form fields as Avinash suggested or you can use sub template logic and handle coding over there. Again in sub template code can be within/outside form fields.
So there is no option for user to increase the size of form field.

How do you set the size / bounds of a waveform chart at run time?

I have a plot area that I would like to fill with as many waveform charts as the user specifies (at run time). The "bounds" property is read only and I haven't noticed an additional "size" property for a waveform chart as there is for a button. Is there a way to set the size of a waveform chart at run time, and if not, why not? (Labview 6.1)

Look at it a little more carefully, I suspect that your assumption is only half wrong. The property does only resize the plot area--LV resizes the frame to fit the resized plot on it's own.
You'll need to bear this in mind when you're figuring-out what size to set the property to.

By changing the maximum automatic height and Minimum automatic height property of the iview you can set the size for height of your iview.
to do this follow the setps:
goto content administrator -> portal content -> your folder where you created your iview or directly to your iview -> right click -> open -> object,
and now in property category choose appearance-Size from the drop down menu and set the above properties to your required height.
if you want the end user to modify this property set the property to read/write .

For a 1" x 1" photo first crop the photo square. Then export with Kind = Current with JPEF Quality = Maximum and Size = Full size.
Then when you go to print the photo select a 1" x 1" print size. This will squeeze all available pixels in each dimension into the 1" dimension giving you the highest DPI resolution available from your image file.

Is there a way to set target size in Compressor

I know this may be too general of a question, but i'd really like to find a way to set the size of a compressed file. I have to upload videos to and online host server and my max is 1.5 GB. right now i have to fool around and try different codecs to see how big they are and sometimes i have 20-30 minute videos. and it's pretty poor work flow to wait an hour to encode only to find out that it's way tpp small or way too big.
also any suggestions on which codec i should use to upload videos from 15 seconds to 30 minutes with a 1.5 GB size cap would be great

I'll answer your first question first.
Best codec for quality is H.264, one good settings folder is the following:
Settings tab>Apple>Other workflows>Web>QT7 compatible>Pick your H.264 setting (For flv you'll need a third party plugin or software).
You want to know how big your file is going to be before encoding?
Choose your setting. Set your preferred bit rate then in Inspector window click on the "summary" button (first from left before the encoder button).
Look carefully through the listed info, there you'll find out what the estimated file size is. If you change bit rate again the estimated size will change too.

with this printer. They take up the whole page when I want them to be 2.35x3.35.

How to set the size of an open dialog

HI Everyone:
I cannot set the size of the open dialog.
I create a menu and menu item called "open"
The menu item "open" will call OpenFile().
However, I cannot set the size of the open dialog
Everytime when the open dialog pops up
the size isn't 500 x 500.
Does anyone know what's wrong with this program ?

SUM(a field)/SUM(b field), a and b field are NUMBER Type
From the OCI Doc, Numbers with up to 38 digits precision.

ORA-01406 fetched column value was truncated
I found the reason of that problem.
I migrated from OCI Ver7 to Ver8
If I set the buffer size to 10 (actually 40 in my program) and the result was
0.0000000000000000001
When I debuged the output buffer
The result was 1.0E-19
but now 0.00000000 and truncation error
how to change floating point and scientific expression automatically depend on the result like OCI Ver7 and SQL PLUS?
I changed define function
