And we also know (observed) if we change status from online to offline , Message come as below

SQL Server has encountered 1 occurrence(s) of cachestore flush for the 'Object Plans' cachestore (part of plan cache) due to some database maintenance or reconfigure operations.
SQL Server has encountered 1 occurrence(s) of cachestore flush for the 'SQL Plans' cachestore (part of plan cache) due to some database maintenance or reconfigure operations.
SQL Server has encountered 1 occurrence(s) of cachestore flush for the 'Bound Trees' cachestore (part of plan cache) due to some database maintenance or reconfigure operations.
And when we change from offline to online , message is like

Confusion: Why cache stores are flushed while taking database online ??

This message was introduced in SP2. From online help about ALTER DATABASE athttp://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms174269.aspx
When the database is set to
AUTOCLOSE = ON, an operation that initiates an automatic database shutdown clears the plan cache for the instance of SQL Server.
Can you check the above?

  • How to get "Synchronize with database" to compare/generate changes for database 'contexts'?

    Hi
    Using SDDM 3.3.
How does one get to synchronise changes/differences in 'contexts' (defined in physical model - Oracle DB)?
I have tried to synchronize both ways, i.e. model to db and db to model, but never does it show the DDL necessary to create the missing context.
Yes, Context is selected/ticked under preferences for Oracle DB synchronization preferences.
    Thank you & Regards

    Hi Philip
If I use the "generate DDL" option from the toolbar, it does generate DDL for the context I have in the physical model.  I can select/deselect them in the DDL Generation Options window.
Why then would it not generate DDL when comparing the model with the database, i.e. using the "synchronise data dictionary to model" option?  It successfully generates a 'patch'/change script for tables, views, packages, etc.?
    Thank you & Regards
PS.  I am asking for a way to get it to generate me a complete 'patch'/change script.

  • How to set up Sharepoint Online and OneDrive for business like shared path in local network

    Hi!
I need to create in OneDrive for business or Sharepoint Online shared folder with documents that would be visible to all selected employees or all employees of the selected group.
How to make it through the admin panel of Office 365, not by creating a folder in any user's access and send invitations to each user by email?

Do you mean you want to map OneDrive for Business as a network drive? If so have a look at this technical article

  • Setting Security Options with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

    Hi there,
I want to print a PDF out of Excel via choosing the Adobe PDF-printer at the print-options-menu and like to apply a password to the PDF-files.
Is there a possibily to set the security options via VBA? I can choose the Adobe-PDF as a Printer, so I hope there is the chance to set the password like i can choose other print-options in VBA.
    Thank You in advance!

  • Oracle Spatial Database option

    hello all,
I downloaded Oracle 9i Personal Edition for Windows 98 platform.
It is a free download @ technet.oracle.com.I have successfully installed the database.
Now i was looking for an "Oracle Spatial" option in the database.
Can anybody tell me how can i store geospatial data in the Oracle database ?
or how can i set the option "Oracle Spatial" in the database ?
I m looking forward for ur help.
    Bikram.

Try connecting as SCOTT/TIGER, then do this:
    select * from user_sdo_geom_metadata;
if the table does not exist, then spatial hasn't been installed
if it does exist, then spatial (or locator) has been installed.
If the table didn't exist, rerun the installer, choose a custom
installation, and check the Spatial box, then install.
If the table did exist, or after you install spatial, you'll want to
use the user's guide, or take the spatial course to get started.

  • Cloud Control 12c: no values for "Database CPU Time (%)"  for 9i databases

    Hi ,
we have several databases in our CloudControl - and for most of them (Oracle release 10g or higher) the value "Database CPU Time (%)" under the tab "Databases" has a value. For databases of version 9i this value always shows up as a "-" sign - and for a few databases of version 10g or 11g, too.
Is this a known issue of the CloudControl or the agent?
    We are using CloudControl 12.1.0.1.0.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Rgds
    Jan

Please post a screen shot. DB time instrumentation was added in DB 10g so that may be why in pre-10g databese, the value is absent. It should show up for 10g and higher databases though as long as they (user calls) have some CPU consumption to report.

Yesterday i did a clean install of XE on my Windows 7 64bit laptop. The installation went well. Today when i tried to connect to the database i got ORA-01033 initialization or shutdown in progress.
So i started sqlplus as sysdba and executed
    SQL> shutdown abort
    ORACLE instance shut down.

Can I upload a simple iPhone App that all it does is direct the User to a Filemaker Pro URL   fmp://~filename.fmp?$VariableName=Value  This launches Filemaker Go and directs the user to the Database Hosted online
Right now there is no app store for Filemaker Go.   Filemaker Forgot about us.
So I want to create a simple native iPhone App that all it does
    is launch
    fmp://~/filename.fmp12?$VariableName=value
This URL will launch the Filemaker Go App
Filemaker Go is a app that the user will have to have
    downloaded already on the device..
The Simple Native app will launch the Filemaker Go.
The fmp  URL has the information where the Filemaker Pro database is hosted
and get  the user where they need to be..
    Help Me please
    iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.3

That would be software. And, you said "upload." That's "uploading software." Why do you question what you stated?
I don't know where you even want to upload this software. The only way it can be downloaded to a device is through the iTunes store. Do you even know what you want to do?

  • How to set "Maximum Lenght" column property for database block at RUNTIME?

    Hi folks,
Is it possible to somehow set a "Maximum Length" property for database block column at runtime?
I have a dynamic form, which maintains mostly "STATIC DATA" within all application which are stored in different static data tables (which have similar structure). But now, description column in some of those tables was extended (not in all at this stage). I would like to avoid truncating form error while reading data from those extended tables, so I would like to set an MAXIMUM SIZE to accurate value at the time when I'm specifying TABLE NAME for that database block.
What property should I use to set it?
-- before executing query in "MAIN_BLOCK" I always set QUERY_DATA_SOURCE_NAME to user defined value => STATIC DATA TABLE name
       Set_block_Property('MAIN_BLOCK',QUERY_DATA_SOURCE_NAME,:control.table_name);
       Set_block_Property('MAIN_BLOCK',DML_DATA_TARGET_NAME,:control.table_name);
-- here I would like to set also MAXIMUM LENGHT for particular column (based on some condition, etc.. correct value I can get from ALL_TAB_COLS dictionary
       SET_ITEM_PROPERTY('MAIN_BLOCK.DESCRIPTION', <<XXXXXXX>>, 300);What should I use instead of "<<XXXXXXX>>" if I want to overwrite MAIN_BLOCK.DESCRIPTION column's maximum length to 300?
    Thanks,
    Tomas

    Hi Magoo, thanks for reply.
Yes, but then user can get other errors while trying to set description with value longer than in database (for all not extended tables).
Aby idea how to implement SET_CUSTOM_PROPERTY like mentioned here?
Oracle Forms - "maximum length" property.
    Thanks,
    Tomas

  • Use of UTF8 and AL32UTF8 for database character set

I will be implementing Unicode on a 10g database, and am considering using AL32UTF8 as the database character set, as opposed to AL16UTF16 as the national character set, primarily to economize storage requirements for primarily English-based string data.
Is anyone aware of any issues, or tradeoffs, for implementing AL32UTF8 as the database character set, as opposed to using the national character set for storing Unicode data? I am aware of the fact that UTF-8 may require 3 bytes where UTF-16 would only require 2, so my question is more specific to the use of the database character set vs. the national character set, as opposed to differences between the encoding itself. (I realize that I could use UTF8 as the national character set, but don't want to lose the ability to store supplementary characters, which UTF8 does not support, as this Oracle character set supports up to Unicode 3.0 only.)
Thanks in advance for any counsel.

I don't have a lot of experience with SQL Server, but my belief is that a fair number of tools that handle SQL Server NCHAR/ NVARCHAR2 columns do not handle Oracle NCHAR/ NVARCHAR2 columns. I'm not sure if that's because of differences in the provided drivers, because of architectural differences, or because I don't have enough data points on the SQL Server side.
I've not run into any barriers, no. The two most common speedbumps I've seen are
    - I generally prefer in Unicode databases to set NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS to CHAR so that a VARCHAR2(100) holds 100 characters rather than 100 bytes (the default). You could also declare the fields as VARCHAR2(100 CHAR), but I'm generally lazy.
    - Making sure that the client NLS_LANG properly identifies the character set of the data going in to the database (and the character set of the data that the client wants to come out) so that Oracle's character set conversion libraries will work. If this is set incorrectly, all manner of grief can befall you. If your client NLS_LANG matches your database character set, for example, Oracle doesn't do a character set conversion, so if you have an application that is passing in Windows-1252 data, Oracle will store it using the same binary representation. If another application thinks that data is really UTF-8, the character set conversion will fail, causing it to display garbage, and then you get to go through the database to figure out which rows in which tables are affected and do a major cleanup. If you have multiple character sets inadvertently stored in the database (i.e. a few rows of Windows-1252, a few of Shift-JIS, and a few of UTF8), you'll have a gigantic mess to clean up. This is a concern whether you're using CHAR/ VARCHAR2 or NCHAR/ NVARCHAR2, and it's actually slightly harder with the N data types, but it's something to be very aware of.

  • How to set ORACLE_HOME for database and apps server in same server

Hi, I have problem here to set ORACLE_HOME in .bash_profile for database and apps server. please help me to set this Oracle Home.

If you mean to have both simultaneosly set on the same OS session, of course that's not possible. But you can configure them on your profile, and choose them when needed. The following is an excerpt from my .bash_profile
    export EDITOR=vi

  • New query for 'Manage Database' option in SQL Developer

    Dear all,
I want to suggest a changed query for the 'Manage Database' option in SQL Developer (right-click on the connection), see the query below.
    This query has the following changes;
    - extra column with the Maximum disk space based on the datafiles (considering autoextend of datafiles); MAX_DATAFILES
    - the PERCENT_USED and PCT_USED are based on the MAX_DATAFILES, as this is really important (and not the difference between ALLOCATED and USED)
    - the results are shown in GB, as that is in my opinion more relevant in this time of data explosion
    - rename of the column FREE to UNUSED_ALLOCATED, as this column identifies how much of the Allocated space is not used
I hope the query can replace the current one, to improve SQL Developer even more.
Thanks for the nice tool SQL Developer!
    Kind regards,

Very little technical information provided about the error.
"+IO error.+" - this likely refers to the client attempting to use a socket handle and the call to the handle failing.
+"The network adapter could not establish the connection.+" - this likely means that the IP address to connect to, could not be reached, or that the connection was not accepted on that port on the remote IP address. (typically hostname resolution errors would give a different error)
The easiest way to test connectivity is using the ping command to bounce an ICMP echo off the remote IP.
If that works, test access to remote port on that remote IP using the telnet command - this will check whether there is a service accepting connections on that port, and whether access to that port is allowed in case of firewalls en-route.
