Setting specific rights to a directory

I am trying to set specific rights to a directory and I cannot seem to get it like I want it. Here is the directory structure:
DIRECTORY-A
|
|_ DIRECTORY-B
|
|_ directory-1
|
|_ directory-2 (problem directory)
The user group has RF rights to DIRECTORY-A. That same group has RWCEMF to DIRECTORY-B and that seems to be working fine(also I have all checked in the Inheritance filter except Access control). What I am trying to do is allow the group to have all rights to directory-1 and all EXCEPT delete from directory-2. I want multiple users to be able to add, rename, delete and move files in directory-1 - so the rights are RWCEMF and that appears to work fine (also I have all checked in the Inheritance filter except Access control). My delimma is trying to get the users to be able have access to directory-2 like this the rights are RWCEMF (I have all checked in the Inheritance filter except Erase & Access Control). I want them to be able to move files into there and name them as they want. But once there, I do not want them to be able to delete from there. If I remove the Erase access right the users are blocked from saving files in the directory - which makes no sense to me. So I want the user to be able to dump things in there and once a file is there, they cannot remove the file or change the contents. Is there some combination of rights to get to this functionality?

If I remove the Erase access right the users are blocked from saving files in the directory - which makes no sense to me.
Are these MS Office files, by any chance? If so that's probably the problem - when Office saves a file it does a complex temp file-delete-rename dance , and you're probably tripping over that.

  • Specific rights on source-system connection?

    Hi all,
    we are up to connect our Solution Manager BW system to our "standard" BW system.
    But due to security reasons, we only want to allow access to specific datasources from the SolMan BW system.
    We tried to set up the rights for the BATCH/background-Users accordingly, but couldn't succeed in setting a specific restriction e.g. for replication of datasources or even data-load.
    What we could see is that we can either restrict access in full or allow it in full...
    So that's exactly the question: is there any way we can set specific rights on replication, activaction and dataload from the source-system?

  • How Can I set Specific RingTone for one person and general ringtone for all?

    Hello All,
    I have a problem with ringtone. I want to set specific ringtone for manager in my 99 series ip phone. Customer needs to know when manager calls him, that is why he told me that he wants to set specific ringtone for Manager.
    Thanks a lot

    Hi Bahlul,
    I don't see such a feature on CUCM where you can have a separate ringtone for a Directory number based on the calling party number. Even to have separate ringtones for different lines on the same IP phone you need to play with Distinctiveringlist.xml , but that too does not fit your requirement as it will always be the same ringtone for all the calls on that line. You may probably get this feature through some third party solution but i am not sure if it would be worth it for applying it on one phone only.

    What I am doing now is to parse the above json data and draw the table( like report) using mx:Grid component according to the parsed json metadata.Everything works fine except the left/right/top/bottom border color setting.
    I have been learning flex for only three weeks. Maybe It does work using a datagrid component or .grid component.
    Could you show me how to do it.
    Thanks again!

    Hi,
    Could you try to create "saploc" share manually and set share permissions to "Administrators, sap_localadmin" group, with full access? If you tried this before, did you face with a problem?
    You should perform this activity with the same user that you've executed SAPINST

    By internal, I assume you're referring to your systems (boot) drive. Is it, by chance, a partitioned dive?
    Also…although many people successfully use their systems drives as scratch disks, over time you'll have better results using a dedicated drive for your media.
    Good luck.

  • Setting up the class root directory and choosing class files.

    I made a simple test application as it is proposed at the J2EE 1.4 Tutorial and all worked.
    (Chapter 24 Getting started with Enterprise Beans)
    Than I deleted the ear file to try out the deploy mechanism again.
    And after generating the new application with File-> New application which worked well I also
    tried to use the EJB Wizard feature of the J2EE deployment tool. After I had selected the appropriate EJB classes to add to my jar, I clicked NEXT and I got the following message:
    The class (converter.Converter) could not be loaded:
    Please consult online help for assistance in setting up the class root directory and choosing class files.
    The online helps isnt very usefull for this type of problem.
    Do you have a hint what to do ?

    Hi san-deepu,
    I couldn't reproduce the error you are having when I followed Ch. 24 tutorial in packaging the ear. Is there anymore information in deploytool's logfile? This is in <user_home>/.deploytool/logfile, or you can run in verbose mode: <as_install>/bin/deploytool -v
    When you say you deleted the ear file, did you also close the ear file in deploytool first? You may also want to exit deploytool () , and try deleting the temporary files. Deploytool usually cleans up the temp files automatically upon exit - maybe there are some left behind that it couldn't delete. On windows the temporary files are located by default in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\sun-dt-Administrator. In deploytool go to Edit --> Preferences --> General to find what the temporary directory is set to.
    Which version of the appserver are you using? jdk version? operating system?

  • Setting recursive rights to folders as an Exchange admin

    I have Users that have 100's of folders under one folder and I need to set rights to those folders to another user.  I know that I can use
     Get-MailboxFolder -Identity AttorneyA:\Cabinet -Recurse | add-MailboxFolderPermission -User SecretaryA -accessrights reviewer
    but that only works for me if I am running this on my mailbox.  An admin can not run this for other mailboxes.  I don't understand how if I can make this work as an Exchange admin for another user.  I thought maybe login as the user and run
    it, but how do you run Exchange powershell as the user.  We currently go to each folder and set these rights manually and there must be a better way.

    Hi,
    If you want to use the above cmdlet to add mailbox folder permission for others, the account you use to run the cmdlet needs to be a member of the following three role groups.

  • How can set direction right to left for horizontal text area

    I want set direction right to left for horizontal text area
    to view right to left String Type

    I don't know that there is such a thing as right to left
    String Type (I can't find one at least). I am assuming this
    involves some language where printed materials are read from right
    to left.
    Before I try to offer a solution though, it will be helpful
    to know more about that text area. Is the intention to type into
    the text area or to load a string into it?
    And if you are loading a string into it, is the string
    already right to left?

  • Setting access rights at component level

    I have created a component. The business wants to restrict its use to a certain group of users.
    If a user is part of that group, ONLY then the coomponent should be available in sidekick at time of page creation.
    How is setting access rights at component level being achieved?

    As Jorg stated, Group ACL settings are meant to control access at a page
    level.  As he also stated is possible to control access even further, but
    with additional effort and difficulty. But, nearly every client wants this
    done down to the component level and on a group by group basis.  So, what
    I've found, over the years that works is the following:
    - Configure the available components per template type per parsys
    - Further configure the available components at the group level
    For the custom built components, you can remove them at the group level by
    un-checking the 'read' ACL on the dialogs for the given component.  You
    don't want to un-check read for the whole component because then the users
    of that group experience random 'holes' in the content.  But, if you
    un-check 'read' for the dialogs, then the component will not display in
    Side-kick (at least on 5.4 and prior this is the case).
    The only caveat to this is the OOB components.  That is where you will run
    into a lot more difficulty.  Those should mostly be enabled/disabled at the
    design level for the entire page/parsys.
    Hope this helps.

  • Install error : Please make sure TEMP is set to a valid writable directory

    Hello all.
    When i run ./runInstaller on the command prompt.. i get the error below.
    # ./runInstaller
    Error in writing to directory /tmp. Oracle Universal Installer needs you to have permission in this area to install. Installation cannot continue. Please make sure TEMP is set to a valid writable directory.
    : Permission denied
    Yes i ran the command using oracle user.
    Permissions checked on the partition.
    # ls -ld /tmp
    drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Dec 11 20:11 /tmp
    Please help, do i need to change the permission for the /tmp partition? if that is the case, what exactly command should i use to change the permission?

    Hi
    Try to do that
    export TEMP=/tmp
    export TMPDIR=/tmp
    export TMP=/tmp
    just to be sure
    Control after that the value is present with env | grep -i temp
    please change also the value to 777 as root.
    Read that for more information : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/install.102/b15667/pre_install.htm#CIHFICFD
    especially 2.14 Configuring the oracle User's Environment section 11 and 12.
    Let us know if it helps.
    Thanks.

  • Set specific rows in ALV grid ready for input

    Hi everyone,
      I have a question about how to set specific rows in ALV grid ready for input.
      I know that I can make some columns ready for input before the ALV displayed,but I have no idea how to make specific rows displayed in the ALV ready for input.

    Hello Aaron
    For editable columns we can use the fieldcatalog (LVC_S_FCAT-EDIT = 'X') but for rows you need to define editability on cell level.
    The required steps are documented in sample report BCALV_EDIT_02. Below I point out a few crucial points:
    *§1.Extend your output table for a field, e.g., CELLTAB, that holds
    *   information about the edit status of each cell for the
    *   corresponding row (the table type is SORTED!).
    DATA: BEGIN OF gt_outtab occurs 0.  "with header line
            include structure sflight.
    DATA: celltab type LVC_T_STYL.
    DATA: END OF gt_outtab.
    *§3.Provide the fieldname of the celltab field by using field
    *   STYLEFNAME of the layout structure.
       gs_layout-stylefname = 'CELLTAB'.
       CALL METHOD grid1->set_table_for_first_display
             EXPORTING i_structure_name = 'SFLIGHT'
                       is_layout        = gs_layout
             CHANGING  it_outtab        = gt_outtab[].
    Note: in the sample report only field SEATSMAX is editable. In your case you need
    to fill CELLTAB for all fields in a row.
    *§2.After selecting data, set edit status for each row in a loop
    *   according to field SEATSMAX.
      LOOP AT gt_outtab.
        l_index = sy-tabix.
        refresh lt_celltab.
        if gt_outtab-seatsmax ge 300.
            perform fill_celltab using 'RW'
                                 changing lt_celltab.
        else.
            perform fill_celltab using 'RO'
                                 changing lt_celltab.
        endif.
    *§2c.Copy your celltab to the celltab of the current row of gt_outtab.
        INSERT LINES OF lt_celltab INTO TABLE gt_outtab-celltab.
        MODIFY gt_outtab INDEX l_index.
      ENDLOOP.
    ENDFORM.                               " SELECT_DATA_AND_INIT_STYLE
    NOTE: LVC_T_STYL is a SORTED table type. Thus, take care that you are using the
    INSERT ... INTO TABLE statement and not APPEND (because then nothing is appended
    to the CELLTAB itab).
      IF p_mode EQ 'RW'.
    *§2a.Use attribute CL_GUI_ALV_GRID=>MC_STYLE_ENABLED to set a cell
    *    to status "editable".
        l_mode = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_style_enabled.
      ELSE. "p_mode eq 'RO'
    *§2b.Use attribute CL_GUI_ALV_GRID=>MC_STYLE_DISABLED to set a cell
    *    to status "non-editable".
        l_mode = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_style_disabled.
      ENDIF.
      ls_celltab-fieldname = 'SEATSMAX'.
      ls_celltab-style = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_style_disabled.
      INSERT ls_celltab INTO TABLE pt_celltab.
    Regards
      Uwe
