Setting the export filters to be used programmatically
Is it possible to set the list of export filters to be used programmatically? I can successfully export photos programatically but now I want to include an export filter in the process. I am trying to set them using LR_exportFiltersFromThisPlugin a la

Sorry I won't be able to be much help. But if I were trying it I would try the exact same export that worked with the export filter, except leave the export filter out, then try initiating the export with the export filter set programmatically.
In other words, start with export-settings that are known to work, rather than an empty table.

When I export photos from Aperture to desktop or iphoto I lose pixels. The pixel dimensions are halved, despite setting the export preference to export at original size. Anyone know why or how to correct this?
Dragging an Image from Aperture exports the Preview. Preview parameters are set on the Previews tab of Aperture preferences.
Are you seeing the same results when you export using one of the export commands?
Is so, confirm that the settings in the selected Image Export Preset ("Aperture➞Presets➞Image Export") truly represent those in the Image Export Preset's name.

Can we set the dynamic data source when using getReportParameters() ?
Hello!
I have a report where one of its parameters refers to a list of values (LOVs). This list of values is an SQL Query type. When the data source used in the report is defined in the BI Publisher server, I'm able to get the report parameters using the getReportParameters() function in my application. However, if the data source is not defined the function throws an exception, which is understandable.
I decided to dynamically set the data source so that even if the data source used by the report is not defined in the BI Publisher server, it still will be able to get the LOVs for the parameter. I tried setting the JDBCDataSource of the dynamicDataSource for the ReportRequest object that I passed to the getReportParameters() function. Please see the sample code below:

I was expecting this to work as this is what I did to dynamically set the data source before calling the runReport function. So, my question is -- can we set the dynamic data source when using getReportParameters() ? I tried this both in versions 10g and 11g. It does not seem to work on both versions.

Stephaniereport_id column of apex_application_page_ir_rpt can help us uniquely identify each saved report.
We can assign this report_id value to a page item and this page item can be put in the Report ID Item text box of the Advanced section of the Report Attributes page of the IR.
This should load the saved report identified by report_id and you can get rid of javascript

I work in a public library and we have two ipod touch and two ipod nanos we would like to circulate for our patrons. Any advice on how we can do this? Should we allow patrons to set the device up for personal use or download static content?
With the Nanos, you should have no problem lending them loaded with audiobooks from Librivox, etc.
As for the iPod Touches, I'm not sure the question is whether you should allow patrons to set up the device for personal accounts, but whether you can prevent them from doing so. Prepare to to a factory restore every time one is returned. -

The same happens when adding the rows via XML view by defining the rows aggregation.

Flash CC Canvas project - No longer able to set the export Linkage?
Now that Toolkit has been integrated into Flash, it appears a Library Linkages have been somewhat removed...
You can no longer right click and set a linking for an object in the Library, yet you can mannually edit the Linkage box and it works. It worked when tool kit so why has this been disabled? Having to dump everything onto the stage in order to get access to the object is no the best way of doing things, you have to then mannually enter an 'instance' name for everything, before you could right click all the items in the library and select export. It would hten use the library objects name as the linkage.

I still don't see why it was removed. By removing the feature it does simplify the process but it also hampers the process...
In my example, say I have 100 movie clips, all of these have animations and timeline code; 'stop()', gotoAndPlay()' etc etc.
So under the new "simplified" system, I have to add all 100 clips to the stage, distrute them so I can select them and then manually give them all instance names so that I can interact with them in code, otherwise they become instance1, instance2 etc which i unreliable. Alternativly, I have to edit the Linkage label for each clip in the library manually. I don't think anyone would enjoy this either of these tasks.
The other alternative would be to use the 'export linkages' in an "ActionScript" project but if I were to then copy them back into the Canvas project, all my code would be commented out. I would then have to go through all 100 clips re enabling the code, again another horrible task.
Comparing this to the old way; I would select the 100 clips in the library, right click and tick export. Simple.
This is pretty annoying and I think disabling this feature has not been truly thought out.
I would love to see it return and can only hope it will in a future update. -
Set the default value in selectonechoice using bindings property

I have a question to ask about selectonechoice. I have scanned the forum but I just cant get this to work by myself.
My business service is a web service.
Use Case:
From the web service data control, I should display a drop down of all available options but I should be able to filter the list of selectItems shown in the dropdown.
After the data is filtered, the drop down should display the first item in the list.
so this is what I did. I drag the iterator in my data control as selectOneChoice.

My problem is that on first load of the page, I am encountering this problem.
Could not find selected item matching value "90" in RichSelectOneChoice.
I know I can used the value property of my selectonechoice into my managed bean but I dont want to do that for now.
I have set the valuePassThru property also but it does not help also. The unselectedLabel is of no use since I dont want that to reflect at all.
I am just not sure why I cannot set the value of my bindings given the code snippet above.
#{bindings.codeList.inputValue} is a listBinding defined in my page definition.

Yes, I haved checked it. To verify, I set the valuePassThru property to true and then in the generated markup, I used firebug to verify if the value is indeed set to 90.
If I set the valuePassThru to false then the index value 0,1,2...n is assigned.
I am doing this during onload operation and using lazy loading of the list. I have set the immediate attribute as well but still not successful.

When I ask Siri to post a message to my Facebook Siri tells me what I have said and then asks tot post it, I then checked on my computer and the post is visible to "ME ONLY" I can change this on the computer and on my phone via the App but I do not want to be doing that all the time.
If I post to Facebook via Siri on my iPhone 5 I want it at the default setting of friends only.

Its one line of code if you use a BorderLayout which by the way was specifically designed for this purpose.
Yes you can do it with a GridBagLayout with about 5 lines of code.
So the question is why would you want to write 5 lines of code when you can use one?
If your question was "How do I waste my time forcing the GridBagLayout to size a component to take up all the space of the frame", then you would have received a different answer. (Although most people would have told you to use a BorderLayout anyway, since its easier). -
How to set the expiration time for a namedcache programmatically?
I have a named cache with near cache configuration and no expiration specified in the cache-config. The backing map which is a distributed scheme has a size limited eviction policy but no expiration. I have an algorithm to determine the expiry delay of this named cache at run time. How can I set this delay programmatically on the named cache?

You would need to get the backing map for the cache and then set the expiry on the backing map; assuming that the backing map supports expiry.

WaqasYou can use the application item as bind-variable with its name. ie. your application item is named G_MY_APPLICATION_ITEM, then you can access/set it using :G_MY_APPLICATION_ITEM.
For example

of reading the export parameter structure "address".

Problem setting the fillColor on dynamic tables using javascript
I try to set the background color on some text fields that I put in a dynamic table. When I set the border color, everything works fine, but not with the fillColor. If I set the fillColor for the enter event for example, the field will only get a colored border, and when I click another field, the field turns completely colored. If I set an exit event with a different color, the field flickers before changing back to white. This happens in dynamic tables only. I am using Designer 8 on Windows XP. This problem has been confirmed by others, and in different forms.

I am trying to create a script to automate a PDF export process for my company for inDesign. I’m fairly new to inDesign itself and have no previous experience with javascript, although I did take C++ in high school and have found it helpful in putting this code together.
We have an inDesign template file and then use the Multi-page PDF importer script to import PDF files. We then have to export two version of each file that we import, then delete the imported file and all of the pages to reset the template. This has to be done for nearly 1000 pdf files each month and is quite tedious. I’m working on automating the process as much as possible. I’ve managed to piece together code that will cleanup the file much quicker and am now trying to automate the PDF exports themselves.
The files are sent to us as “TRUGLY#####_Client” and need to be exported as “POP#####_Client_Date-Range_North/South.pdf”
For example, TRUGLY12345_Client needs to be exported as POP12345_Client_Mar01-Mar31_North and POP12345_Client_Mar01-Mar31_South.
There are two templates built into the template file for the north and south file that are toggled easily via layer visibility switches. I need to get a code that can ideally read the #s from the imported Trugly file as well as the Client and input those into variables to use when exporting. The date range is found in the same place in the top right of each pdf file. I am not sure if this can be read somehow or if it will have to be input manually. I can put North or South into the file name based on which template layer is visible.
I am not sure how to go about doing this. I did find the following code for exporting to PDF with preset but it requires me to select a preset and then type the full file name. How can I set it to automatically use the “Smallest File Size” preset without prompting me to choose and then automatically input some or preferably all of the file name automatically? (If the entire filename is possible then I don’t even want a prompt to appear so it will be fully automated!)

So far my code does the following:
1) Runs the Multi-Page PDF Import Script
2) Runs PDF Export Script Above
3) Toggles the Template
4) Runs #2 Again
5) Deletes the imported PDF and all pages and toggles template again.
It’s close and much better than the original process which was almost 100% manual but I’d like to remove the Preset prompt from the PDF script and have it automatically select the “Smallest File Size” preset. and then if there’s a way to have it auto-fill in the file name so no user input is required at all other than selecting each file to import. (If there’s a way to setup a batch action for the multi-import script that would be even better!)

Or you can often hit option-return on the file and it will reveal the file in the Finder, instead of opening it.
Final option is to open it, and just option-click the filename in the toolbar of Preview and it should show you the location.
It's probably an attachment to an email you've received. If you have Mail set to cache emails and their attachments it'll be stashed in a subdirectory of ~/Library/Mail. Which is fine.
