Setting up LDAP Server to lookup Connection Factories using JNDI

Can someone let me know how to setup LDAP server within 10G to lookup connection factories using JNDI?
I read through the Advanced Queuing User Guide and Reference document where this is mentioned and it says use the Database Configuration Assistant to do this but I could not find how.
When I install 10G is LDAP server automatically setup? How do I get to it?
Thanks

That is correct. I was indeed able to use the app server (10g) to give the LDAP user permission to access the objects, then used sql commands to register the objects inside the LDAP.
However, I am finding NOTHING about actually creating a unique connection factory that can be registered in the LDAP. I find reference to registering Queues/Topics/Factories inside the LDAP, but nothing about actually creating the factories.
In fact, here
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28420/aq_envir.htm#sthref409
it's listed that you cannot use sql to create a connectionfactory... not to mention the create java commands for factories look strikingly similar to the queue/topic GET commands, and not the create commands. You can add an alias for that factory using sql, but can't actually create the factory using sql... ???

  • SOLVED Setting up LDAP server.

    Arch is boring because everything runs too smooth .  So for a challenge, I tried to set up an LDAP server and I can't getting it to work.  I even have a book in front of me!!
    I keep getting this error: ldap_result: Can't contact LDAP server (-1)
    This is my query: ldapsearch -x '(objectclass=*)' -W -D "cn=admin, dc=example, dc=com"
    This is my slapd.conf:
    include /etc/openldap/schema/core.schema
    pidfile /var/run/slapd.pid
    argsfile /var/run/slapd.args
    access to *
    by self write
    by users read
    by anonymous auth
    database bdb
    suffix "dc=exemple,dc=com"
    rootdn "cn=admin,dc=exemple,dc=com"
    rootpw secret
    directory /var/lib/openldap/openldap-data
    index objectClass eq
    And this is my ldap.conf:
    BASE dc=exemple,dc=com
    URI ldap://localhost
    nmap localhost shows : 389/tcp  open  ldap so I guess the server is running
    Can someone give me some hint??
    EDIT:
    hosts.allow damn it.

  • Need help setting up LDAP server for Address Book

    I've set up Panther servers before for AFP which is pretty simple but now the office I work at wants me to setup an LDAP server so they can share the same contact information, probably about 2,000+ entries. I'm guessing that this will have to be entered in the LDAP server entry by entry.
    I need to know how to setup the server and what settings need to be on the clients' computers, such as in Address Book.
    The server is an older G4 tower and I've got 8 computers hooked up to it on a simple network. I don't think I'll need to make the LDAP server accessible from outside the network but it's something I'll have to worry about for the future.
    Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • Application server Oracle 10g connectivity by using real IP

    I have configured the Oracle application server 10g on RHEL update 2 version. It is posible to connet from client pc by using LAN network. But it is not possible to connect from client pc by using real ip over internet.

    This is a network related problem. Quite likely a firewall issue. Nothing to do with the Oracle RDBMS product itself.
    The only Oracle related issue is the Oracle Listener. It listens for network connections to the IP addresses owned by that Oracle server platform. You can make it listen to only a single address (on a specific NIC). Or on a set or all IP addresses (all NICs) on that server.
    It does not care where the originating connection request comes from. If it is to a port and IP address it is listening on, it will accept that connection.
    Talk to your network admins.

  • Import Oracle DataBase dump file Into Sql Server With out connection oracle using c# code.

    Hi All,
    I would like to ask how can imports my dump oracle database file data and struct into sql server 2005
    with out make connection oracle.
    best regards.
    Hakim.

    Hi Hakim.
    Based on your title, what I understood there is a issue regarding transfer oracle db dump to sql database using C# code. Am I right? If so, I am afraid there is no build-in method which meet your requrements in .NET framework. You must provides
    OraDump  Export API to allow developers integrate corresponding capabilities  into their applications. These capabilities are about export data from  Oracle dump files into popular databases like Microsoft SQL server. Every developer
    having OraDump Export API can write just few lines of code on C# or  Visual Basic to implement the appropriate export process.
    I am search a third-party link, but it's a paid service.

  • Do I need to dedicate a computer such as a Mini to set up a server? Or can I use my iMac as my server for my 2 man company?

    I was considering using my iMac for the server. Can I us it as my main computer as well as the server?
    Jim

    As cpragman writes, more information helps tailor the answer.
    As for the question posed, iMac will work just fine as a server and I know folks that use that, but a central consideration of any "repurposing" of a workstation for this is that servers deal with more than one person and usually with continuous access and comparatively few outages.  This for server-oriented services such as mail, DNS, Messages, web services, etc.  A workstation can boot and crash and be reconfigured or wiped and reloaded maybe not at a whim, but the workstation outages basically disrupt just one user.  Server outages can cause headaches for multiple users and uses.

  • How to lookup EJB3 beans using JNDI names without defining ejb-ref in DD?

    I am using SJSAS PE 9.0 I am failing to lookup my beans from other beans directly without ejb-ref.
    Is there some sample code to look at?
    Thanks!

    Global JNDI names are vendor-specific and not known until deployment time. That is one
    of the main reasons the Java EE component environment model defines a level of
    indirection for accessing component dependencies. It is best to use either an ejb-ref
    or @EJB annotation when accessing EJBs from a Java EE component.
    If you choose not to, you just have to make sure the global JNDI name you use matches
    the one assigned to the target EJB. We have a lot of information on how this works
    in our EJB FAQ.
    https://glassfish.dev.java.net/javaee5/ejb/EJB_FAQ.html
    If you're still encountering an error, please provide more specifics about your application,
    the code you're using for the lookup, and the error message you're receiving. Just
    saying "my looking fails" doesn't help us diagnose the problem :-)

    Hi,
    What edition of Win 2K are you using (Pro/Server/Ad Server). The problem could be your DNS settings only.Ensure which machine is your DNS Server is running,is it on NT? if so change it to win 2K server.
    Delete your LDAP machines A record from DNS server and add it again. This will solve your problem.

  • Using JNDI to connect LDAP directory : pb of reconnection

    Hi everybody !
    I really need our help.
    I work with java servlets and i try to connect a LDAP directory with JNDI.
    When i launch my application, and when LDAP server is ready, connection is done, i get data from ldap, everything is ok.
    But when ldap server fails down, and startup, (my application doesn't stop), i can't connect again to ldap (ldap connext is not null). I get an error "Connection reset by peer, socket write error".
    I can't connect, even if i put my context null, and build another context, to get ldap data.
    Maybe its a problem of servlet programmation, or JNDI use, i don't know.
    Any ideas ?? Thanks you so much for your help !
    Here i give my code, to build ldap context (which is equivalent to a connection to ldap) :
    _env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIALCONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDERURL, "ldap://"+_ldapIPAddress+"/o=netcentrex");
    //securite
    env.put(Context.SECURITYAUTHENTICATION, "simple");
    env.put(Context.SECURITYPRINCIPAL, "cn=admin, o=div");
    env.put(Context.SECURITYCREDENTIALS, "admin");
    try
    ldapCtx = new InitialDirContext(env);
    catch(NamingException e)
    System.out.println("ConnectionLdap : Cannot get directory context for LDAP");

    Sorry, no need to reply !!
    I've found my error (3 days i am searching, and its a stupid null ldap address) !!!

    Hi ican,
    I was looking at your VI's but I cannot seem to pinpoint exactly where you are using Windows Media Player.  In order to more quickly assist you, could you please recreate this issue more concisely in a smaller set of VIs.  Also, were you able to get sound when you did not use the TCP/IP connection and simply played the files in LabVIEW?
    I noticed in a few places that you were using the Play Sound File.VI from the Graphics and Sounds palette.  Is that what you are refering to?  I noticed there that the file path that you have designated for the song is simply the song title.  Instead, this should be a path to where the song is located on your computer.
    Also, if you are planning on using Windows Media Player, have you considered using the ActiveX commands for Windows Media Player?  Here are a few examples if you are unfamiliar with this functionality.
    Example 1 and Example 2.
    I hope this helps!

    I am trying to test using JDBC data source on a computer without a LDAP server. Is there an alterative JNDI solution? How about using file system or RMI registry JNDI service providers?

  • How to build LDAP server?

    Hi all!
    I do have address book of company based on Oracle tables, what
    should I do populate them as LDAP entries? Does it true that
    the only option is to copy address book entries to existing
    LDAP server? Or I could use known API to build my own LDAP server
    on top of available DB tables?
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

    You may be able to find something which sits in front
    of your db and makes it "look like" an LDAP data store
    to your jndi code. The only such thing I'm aware of is
    something called "VDE" ("Virtual Directory Engine" I
    think) from a company called "OctetString".
    What you can do with their product (and it is a
    commercial product) is configure an adapter which, on
    one side, does SQL calls to your db and, on the other,
    responds to JNDI calls. So the flow is something like:
    (1) your program makes a jndi call, which (2) goes to
    VDE which (3) translates the call into one or more sql
    calls (which you configure inside the product), (4)
    then VDE collects the resulting data, (4) swizzles it
    into the appropriate objects and (5) responds to your
    original JNDI call.
    I've never used their product in this way but this is
    my understanding, conceptually anyway, of what it
    does. There may also be other gizmos available
    elsewhere which work this way. Thanks a lot! It's exactly what I have been looking for!
    I've downloaded evaluation copy, checked and right now
