I have a similar issue. My hard drive crashed, so I had a new one installed and I'm basically starting from scratch on my computer. My iPhone has a lot of my stuff on it (photos and music in particular). When I plugged into iTunes I did a "back up" of my phone to the computer....this transferred the photos in my camera roll, and music purchased through iTunes.
So....I still have a ton of photos (saved in folders, not my camera roll), and music (older stuff not purchased through iTunes) that I want to get to my computer. I am scared to "sync" my phone in iTunes for the first time.....if I do this, will it make my phone match my computer (effectively erasing the stuff on the phone?). What I want is for my computer to match my phone (thus transferring the additional photos and music). Is the third party software the only way?? Does it really work well/is it worth the money? It sounds like you may use a POP account for your email. With a POP account, email applications like Mail and Outlook can remove emails from the server, so when another device tries to check the server for new emails, it doesn't see any.
You may need to adjust settings in Outlook so that the emails are not removed from the server when downloaded. I found an article with more information:
When using a POP email account with multiple devices, email messages may only appear on the first device that receives them. This occurs when an email client is configured to automatically remove email from the server once an email client has received it. You can configure your email client (or clients) either to keep a copy of the email on the server, remove it after a certain number of days have passed, or keep it until you move it from your Inbox.

for purchases from the iTunes store do this:
connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.

You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.

Im wondering how I can get the music that I had on my iphone 4. I lost the phone over a year ago, but I spent hundreds of dollars on music albums. since then I have never been able to find out if I can get the albums that I purchased and save them in my computer. I don't have a iphone or other cell phone at the moment. the phone that I lost was not backed up. if anyone know how to do that, I would be thrilled.

My itunes won't recognise any of the music that is already stored on my computer or let me sync anything to my new ipod nano!! any ideas??

I recently bought a new ipod nano and when i got it home and connected it to my computer I was told my version of i-tunes was not compatable and I had to un-install it and then download it again. After I did this 4 times i eventually managed to get itunes to open on my computer and recognise my new ipod. However after all that hassle my version of itunes now wont recognise any of the music that has already been downloaded onto my computers music files. I have tried copying the music across and also using the add music to the itunes library command and nothing seems to work! I really like the ipod but if i had known that itunes was this difficult to work i would have picked a different type of music player! since i have bought the ipod ive heard nothing but bad things about how difficult and complicated itunes is to work so if anyone has any ideas for how i can fix this problem thatd be great! Connect your phone to computer, and sync like this. Check the boxes for the playlists, artists, albums you want to sync. Then click Apply. If you have enough space on your phone, you can choose Entire music library.

There's a link there for converting data from Peachtree to Quickbooks, which requires you to contact them; clicking on that Contact Us link for that FAQ item takes you to another page where you select which product you have, so they can address your needs.

In iTunes go to the Help menu in the upper menu bar. Then click on iTunes Help. Then on Sync your iPod, iPhone or iPad and follow the instructions.

I recently received my new iPhone 4 from my carrier since my old one was stolen. I restored my new iPhone from my old iPhones iCloud back up but now all the pictures that were stored in my old phone are blurry in my new phone. Please help!

Luckily, using the "Find My iPhone" app, I was able to scare the thieves into bringing my iPhone back to the place they stole it from (Dave and Busters..on my BIRTHDAY OF ALL DAYS). So now, $169 later (deductible for replacement iPhone), I have both my 1st iPhone and my replacement. On my first iPhone, I have all of my pictures saved and they are very clear, but when I restored my replacement iPhone from my original iPhones iCloud backup, all the pictures that I took in my original iPhone are blurry! I thought about backing up my original iPhone through iTunes and then resetting my replacement iPhone and restoring it from my original iPhones settings but I dont want to lose all of my new pictures I took. I know this sounds confusing (well, it looks confusing, since you cant actually hear me) but I could use all the help I can get!

No such thing has occurred. iPhones do not backup to one another.
It is not possible to backup a different iPhone from the one being updated.
If the iPhone was restored with a backup from a different device, restore it again from the correct backup.

Photo stream only saves you photos from the last 30 days. Older photos are deleted from photo stream even though they will remain on your device. However, if you connect a new device to your photo stream, then will only receive the photos from the last 30 days as they others have been removed.
If you still have your old phone and the photos are in the camera roll, import them to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then sync them to your new phone.
