Setting up where Roman Numerals stop and page 1 Begins

I did set this up, once, but have sence forgotten how to make an adgustment. Actually I currently have it set to count roman numerals to VIIII, then start "normal" numbering afterwards, which begins at page 10. Ideally I'd like the "normal" numbering to begin with 1 after the end of the roman numerals.

You will not be able to see what version you are running until the iPad is activated. It will be in Settings>General>About >Version when you can get to the settings app.
The slider bar that you are describing sounds like the screen lock side switch and that has no bearing on setting up the iPad or connecting to WiFi.
Why don't you try rebooting your router? Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again and see if the iPad will recognize and join the network.

JSP, DataWebBean: How to dynamically set the where clause of query and display record

I have used ViewCurrentRecord web bean to display records from EMP table. I have to use the Dept_Id_FK from the current
record of the EMP table to display corresponding records of Dept table. I have a view object called DeptView in my Business
Components which selects all the records from the Dept table.
How do I get the value of Dept_Id_FK and use it to display the required records of the Dept table?
I tried to declare a variable and get the value of Dept_Id_FK but it did not work. My code is as follows:

First of all, Thank you very much for making use of the new topic format. It is very much appreciated.
As for your question, I think there are several different ways to accomplish what I think you want to do.
1. Create a view object that includes both Emp and Dept entities and join them there. In this case, your query would look something like this:
Select e.empno,e.name,...,d.dname,d.loc from emp e, dept d
where e.deptno = d.deptno
You should be able to create a JSP off of this view object that contains both the employee and department information. In this case, BC4J takes care of the foreign key to primary key coordination.
2. In order to set a dynamic where clause for a view, you need to do the following in your usebean tag:
rsn.initialize(application,session, request,response,out,"DeptView");
rsn.getRowSet().getViewObject().setWhereClause("deptno=" | | m_DeptId);
rsn.getRowSet().getViewObject().executeQuery();
rsn.getRowSet().first();
You will need to do this in a separate usebean tag from the EmpView, since the usebean can only initialize one view object.
In other words, you would have your ViewCurrentRecord bean tag for the EmpView, then a separate one for the DeptView where you use the above code to set the where clause to display just the information for the department you want.
Another option, but one I'm not sure would work as well, is to create a master-detail JSP to do this for you. Usually a master-detail is a one-to-many (one department to many employees). Your request appears to be the reverse, but might still be doable using the same mechanism.
You set up relationships between views in your BC4J project using View Links. If you used the BC4J project wizard and created default views, some of these links may have been created for you. They are created when BC4J detects a foreign key to primary key relationship in the database.
You can create your own View Links using the View Link wizard. Select your BC4J project node and choose Create View Link... from the context menu. You will be asked to select a source view (Emp), and a target view (Dept), then select the attribute in each view that related the two of them (deptno).
Next, you need to reflect this new relationship setting in your application module. Select your app module and choose Edit from the context menu. On the data model page, select the EmpView node in the Selected list. Now select the DeptView node in the available list and shuttle it over. You should see DeptView1 via yourlink appear indented under the EmpView node. Save and rebuild your BC4J project to reflect the changes.
In your JSP project, you can now have the wizard create a master-detail form for you based on DeptView1.

I click on the Firefox ixcon. Windows appears to start opening it. But it stops and never begins.

The hour glass appears, as if the program will begin. Then after 3 or 4 seconds it disappears. So I am unable to open FireFocx. I now have to use Internet Explorer (yuck).
It started happenming a few weeks ago. I would contunue to try to start the program and eventually it would open. Today for the first time, after dozens of attempts, it fails to open.

Also make sure you are using the ISPs DNS (settings - network - DNS - automatic)
Speed would matter more for iTunes content and I don't think it's an issue but you can verify via speedtest.net

Re-write numerical page numbers to roman numerals for an introduction?

Hi there everybody,
I've been attempting (for some considerable time!) to typeset and format a book. The book needs to have roman numerals running from the first title page (which is in reality left blank through using a secondary master page without page numbers). However, I didn't realise I would need to use roman numerals in the introduction, and instead started the page numbers from the first title page of the introduction. Therefore, my pages that are numbered by roman numerals (copyright page etc) stop at this point and in the introduction become numbers.
I need to change it so it is roman numerals up until the first page of the actual book, all through the introduction, but when I try to change it in the Numbers and Sections tab, it tells me that i've already used the numbers i've typed in.
Basically I would like to know how to take off the first set of roman numeral page numbers and start again??
I'm very confused!! Help would be MUCH appreciated.

Pagination: roman numerals AND cardinal numbers

I've written a doctoral dissertation in Pages. It is a wonderful program, but I'm still trying to resolve several issues. I have broken the document up into chapters, and each chapter is a separate section. Pagination was not a problem until I needed to create a section using Roman numerals. So my questions are these: a) can Pages handle Roman numerals as page numbers and b) can one section be numbered with roman numerals and the others with cardinal numbers?

Yep, it appears that, as Apple says in a technote, "Table of contents uses Arabic numerals only". Needless to say, this limits the utility of this function.
One workaround might be to set up the front matter of your document using a differently-named style for the headings that would normally appear in the TOC, and simply exclude those when the TOC is created. You could then add in those pages by hand (since there typically are relatively few front matter pages compared to the document body).

TOC page number as roman numerals, body as decimal

Pretty new to the DDX world. I'm using Cold Fusion 8 to generate a PDF. I then use DDX to open the pdf, add a Table of Contents and headers/footers. The Footers contain the page numbers. Right now, the page numbers just start with the TOC (1) and go to the nd of the document.
I'm trying to figure out a way to number the TOC with roman numerals, but the rest of the document with decimals. Right now, I'll accept i, ii, iii, iv, 5, 6, 7... but I'm guessing my customer will want the numbering started over at 1 when we hit the body of the document. I'll cross that bridge later. Right now, I can't seem to find a way to mix the numbering. I know PageLabel is the place to attack, but I've had no luck so far. My basic DDX markup looks like:

i think the best way ist to create a 2 variables and add at every master page 1 to var1 or var2 .
At every following site of the first master pages add "1" to var1 .
At every following site of the second master pages add "1" to var2 .
With this coding you can fill your var1 and var2 i think
Put this on every site then i think you can fill var1 and var2 different.
If not you must make a simple coding var1 = var1 + 1 at site1 and var2 = var2 + 1 at site2

Set default Initial View to Bookmarks Panel and Page on all new docs

Hello Acrobat Experts,
We convert *many* Word docs to PDF. We have PDFMaker force security on all docs. Now every document has the security settings we want.
That works.
We want to force the default Initial View to be Bookmarks Panel and Page so that *every* new document shows the Bookmark Panel and the Page.
We don't want to set this per document (which is a multi-setp process and a hassle, especially now that security is enabled) but globally for all new documents created by Adobe Acrobat.
Any and all advice is most welcome.

The article I pointed to in my Oct 20, 2009 post #3 contains two pointers that might assist to initially open the PDF fitting the page to the window.
I think you may be after "Vire [/Fit]" as described in the article;

/Page 1 /View [/Fit ]
/DOCVIEW pdfmark
These lines of code open your PDF document with the bookmarks panel open. If you just want the document on its own try "UseNone" instead of "UseOutlines". Here are some additional values:
/Page 1 opens the PDF on page 1
View [/Fit ] opens the PDF Fit to page
And the article points to the PDFMark reference where you might look at Actions and Destinations on page 47.
I've not tried to do this myself so would you be kind enough to post your result and let us know the version of Acrobat you're using?

Dynamically setting where clause parameter before the page load

I do have the following requirement.
I am working on jsf page in ADF10.1.3.3. I have a View Object which displays the results on the screen. Can someone provide me some example where I can dynamically set the where clause parameter to my Query in VO before the Page Load happens(By Overriding the Prepare Model) and display results on screen.

Only one Bookmarks Toolbar is allowed. You can create Folders on the bookmarks toolbar (named "Sports", "News", etc.) and add or move your bookmarks to those folders.

Where did the "Stop" button go on the Navigation Bar in ff4? It isn't included in the Customize box. Is there anyway to install the "Stop" button for loading web pages or is this option compeletly gone from Firefox now?

Just installed upgrade to Firefox 4.0. Where did the "Stop" button go on the Navigation Bar. I checked the Customize dialogue box and it isn't included. Is anyone else missing it? It was a very helpful button and allowed us users to stop a web page and move on if it wasn't what we needed.

In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.
When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.
If you want separate buttons, right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the stop or reload buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again.
