SFTP Server for Callmanager 5.0(4) backup?

What is everyone using for the Backup functionality for Callmanager 5.0(4)? I used to just backup to a network share in 4.1, now that is not an option. Also is there any way to use standard ftp in callmanager 5.0(4) for backups? Any thoughts? I tried to use IIS and it didn't even seem to hit the IIS server.

CCM5 Backup to a Secure FTP Server
Author: Mike Malloy Date: 01/03/2007 Revision: 1
Introduction
This document describes the basic steps to backup a CCM5 to a Secure FTP (SFTP) server.
CCM5 supports ONLY SFTP to perform network backups!!!
Tools Needed
Laptop with SFTP Server software - freeFTPd used for this doc.
Procedure
Install and configure freeFTPd
01. Download from http://www.freeftpd.com/ - approx 829M
02. Install freeFTPd
- select YES to create keys
- select NO to run as service
03. Launch freeFTPd using desktop icon – it will start minimized on System Tray.
04. Configure freeFTPd
- add user
- configure logging
- verify keys
- Start the SFTP server
05. Verify SFTP server running
06. Right click icon to configure or quit freeFTPd
Configure Storage Location on CCM5 Disaster Recovery System
01. Use Internet Explorer to Access DRS from CCMAdmin or directly at https://ipaddr/drf
02. Login name and password is the SERVER login name – NOT the CCMAdministrator.
03. Configure Network Storage Location
- if sftp server connection test fails, you?ll see error in Status box
04. freeFTPd logfile will show possible failure reasons
- in this case, dir change was unsuccessful due to bad path name
05. freeFTPd logfile showing successful Storage Location update.
- Note: login was successful, but it always shows 3 access denied – why?!?!?
Perform Manual Backup
01. Start Manual Backup
02. Watch as tar files are created.
03. Watch progress bar as tar files are copied to sftp server
04. Verify backup complete.
Verify files exist on sftp server
My PUB and 1 SUB created 17 files.
Notes on freeFTPd logfile
!!! Shortly after backup starts see these lines repeated about 3 times

01-03-2007 11:14:19 IP 172.30.1.201 SFTP sbc is deleting /dUmmI_Drf (C:\backccm\dUmmI_Drf)
!!! About 6 mins after backup started, see this line

!!! See a few more files uploaded, and then see this sequence repeated about 70 times over a 6 min period ?!?!?
!!! List grows to include files from SUB

01-03-2007 11:26:05 IP 172.30.1.201 SFTP sbc disconnected
!Manual backup COMPLETE!!!
Watching freeFTPd Online Users shows 1 user logged in from start of backup AND a 2nd user with same name BRIEFLY appears about every 30 secs then disappears?!?!?
E-mail me if you want pretty file with screenshots...Mike

  • How do I enable "Host-key" for my sftp server on ISE?

    Hello,
I am having trouble copying my ISE 1.2 upgrade files to my local repositories.
Here is a cut and paste from my CLI on one of my ISE nodes after attemtping to copy from my workstation (running an SFTP server) to one of my ISE nodes.
    XXX-ise-01/admin# Copy sftp://<My_SFTP_Server_IP_Address>/ise-upgradebundle-1.1.x-to-1.2.0.899.i386.tar.gz. disk:/

% ERROR : Backup failed due to one of the following reasons
    1. host-key option is not configured
    2. host key is removed because of re-image
    3. host key is removed from some other repository having same ip/hostname
% Please reconfigure the host-key option
    % Error: Transfer failed
I have not configured anything with the "Host-Key" option.
I have googled and searched but can only find limited references to the "Host-key" command within Cisco. I have tried various forms of this on the ISE node with no luck.
I tried an FTP transfer but that did not work.
    Any ideas?

I was wondering why the last character is capitalized. Also are you able to copy files from the disk file over to the same repository. I havent had any problems and I see in a seperate thread that the user gave other directions on how to transfer the file.
If you can open two ssh connection and try to run the following command to tail the logs:
    "show logging system ade/ADE.log tail"
You should get some messaging behind the error you are receiving, for example I went to look for a file that did not exist (even though I am using ftp you should get the same error).
Here is when the transfer fails:

  • Recently backing up my ipad onto my macbook, which is the backup server for all of my gadgets.  This includes all my photos and tons of music.  The macbook said it could not backup the ipad because there was insufficient disc space to do so. What now?

I have a macbook operating OSX10.6.7.  Recently backing up my ipad which had lots of photos from a recent vacation.  I use this laptop as the backup server for all of my gadgets so it has thousands of photos and tons of music.  It just told me that it couldn't back up the ipad bc there wasn't enough disc space.  I was afraid that this would happen eventually.  What next?  Newer laptop with more space?  I'm not sure what files I could sacrifice to free up more space as most of these are important.

What size hard drive do you have in your MacBook? The cheapest options are, a larger internal hard drive, or an external drive. Or you could get a cheap desktop PC and network to it for storage. I've got one that lives in the hall with 3 Terabytes (That's 3000gb) of storage.

  • Restoration of MaxDB online backup on other server for creating Standby DB

    Hi,
I had taken MaxDB online database backup through Data Protector 6.11. Now i want to restore this backup on other server. So that i can configure this as a standby database. I selected config and data for restoration but it was giving me an error as below,
    [Critical] From: OB2BAR_SAPDBBAR@ttcsolma "BE1"  Time: 01/11/11 01:19:05
Error: SAPDB responded with: -24988,ERR_SQL: SQL error
    -9407,System error: unexpected error
    3,Database state: OFFLINE
Internal errorcode, Error code 9050 "disk_not_accessible"
So I created the database but with default values and then tried restoration but getting error as below,
Error: Unable to read the configuration value `All' for SAPDB instance `SID'.
If anybody is having any document or steps for confguring the Standby MaxDB database through Data Protector backup/restore method.
    Thanks,
    Narendra

    Hi Siva,
Thanks for the replyu2026Yes I had copied the dbm.ebf, dbm.mdf dbm.knl files from the source server to target server. And also backup is visible in target server. And also I created Data /Log volumes size as equal to source server.
I tried restoring through DBM GUI with "recovery with initialization" option but I am getting error message as below and also I am getting same error message when I restore from Data Protector GUI. But I donu2019t have any problem restoring the backup on same server the problem occurs only when restoring it on target server.
Now for testing I have taken backup on file system through DBM GUI of source system and started restoring on target system. No problem while restoring from file system backup on target server. I am suspecting there is some problem with PIPE as I am using third party backup tool i.e. DP 6.11. I want to resolve the problem with third party backup tool as we will take all MaxDB database backup on tapes through DP 6.11.
    Through DBM GUI error message:
Error: SAPDB responded with: -24925,ERR_PREPARE: preparation of backup operation failed
The list of external backup ID's contains less than 16 ID's.
Through Data Protector GUI error message:

  • Restore configuration failed to download from SFTP server

    Hi
I am trying to restore the fabric configuration and I am unable to connect to sftp server.
    I noticed the following error:
Configuration failed for EPG oob due to Not Associated With Management Zone
    Any ideas?

    Hi Tomas
    Thanks for the quick response.
I think it might be useful if I explain what it is that I am trying to achieve. I have a lab with 2 spines/4 leafs/3 apics. I will be starting a series of workshops to educate my team on the glorious world of ACI.
One of my first sessions will be "how to build a fabric". So I am currently in the process of decommissioning the switches and then issuing the "eraseconfig setup".
After erasing the APIC config the team will build the fabric and then upload the backup configuration from my SFTP server.
So the issue is that I am unable to download the backup file via the GUI.
I have just applied the eraseconfig setup command again I can confirm that it does not build an "External Management Network Instance Profile" from default.
I also have noticed that from a default build the Management Zone error appears.
I have configured the profile but the EPG has not "formed"
At the moment I am unable to download the configuration.
Thanks for your help on this
    Ben

  • I have partitioned my time capsule, but I can't get it to work as a Time Machine back up and permanent media server for both mac and PC. What format do I need to partition the drive to so that it works for both mac and windows and so that it will be visab

I have partitioned my time capsule, as I want part of it to act as a media server for both mac and windows. However I don't know what format that I need to partition it to. I also can't make it a permanently accesible drive. I want to restore the drive to the original format (which I don't know) and start again and re-partition the drive in a format that can be used for media by both mac and PC and for time machine back-ups and make the media part of it permanetly accesible so I can add and acccess my files.
    Thanks

You are mixing up a couple of things here.
The TC drive cannot be partitioned without removing it.. did you do that?
If you partition it you must use a Mac disk utility and use the HFS+ ie standard Mac format. And GUID partition table not windows type.
You can select erase disk in the airport utility.. that will take the disk back to original format. No partitions. TC is deliberately not partitioned as it is not a media server.. it is a backup device for TM. Over time .. the disk will be filled with TM backups so you have a long history of file changes to your computer.
There is no media server in the TC.. it is merely disk storage.. you can serve files from it to a media device.. but the TC itself is dumb as dumb.
Now the actual format of the drive is irrelevant to the PC.. The TC offers SMB file services to the network. You can copy files to and from the TC as if it was a local disk without caring one iota about the format. The TC handles that .. it is not a local disk .. it is a network drive.
Although you cannot partition the TC. you can still copy files to it.. this does have implications for TM.. but as long as there is plenty of free space should not be a major issue.
You can create a disk image via the disk utility in a Mac.. and as stated you can create partitions if you do it on a Mac with the disk directly connected which means breaking warranty if any exists on the TC.

OK, I did this once and did not follow the oracle docs
If you saved your targets.xml before you started you might save it by renaming it back.
(Double check to make sure you did not miss a rename)
Otherwise, all I have to offer is my rough notes:
    1. Backup the file $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/targets.xml.
    [oracle@ias02 emd]$ pwd
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/sysman/emd
    cp targets.xml targets.xmlbackup
    2. Modify the file targets.xml by changing all the occurrences of the wrong reports server name by the correct one.
    i.e. Replace rep_test_midtier with rep_new (4 places - changes)
Copy the conf file as follows: ( this will named different from system to system )
    cp /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/reports/conf/rep_pia_oracleas.conf /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/reports/conf/rep_fam.conf
    run this script:
/u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/bin/addNewServerTarget.sh rep_fam          (change rep_fam to new report server name)
    3.Update the changed configuration .
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/dcm/bin/dcmctl updateconfig -ct opmn -v -d
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/dcm/bin/dcmctl resyncinstance -v -d
    4. Restart the Application Server Control Console
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/bin/emctl stop iasconsole
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/bin/emctl start iasconsole
    In the file:
    /u01/app/oracle/product/midtier/reports/config/reportsConfig.properties
Change the Reports_Server_Name setting from rep_test_midtier to rep_fam (change rep_fam to new report server name)
Best Wishes (I was able to save mime)
The other option is to reinstall

  • Lion Server for Home use reality check

    Hi All,
as many others I had the best intentions buying Lion Server for my home network (5 Macs, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones) to manage everything.
It was destined to be a central server for user management, configuration management, home directories, file server, software update server, web server and Time Machine server and possible VPN gateway to my home network.
I did not intended to use  as Address Book, iCal, Mail server as I use iCloud. I just don't see the point of iChat, Podcast, Wiki server for my home use.
Anyway the bits I had to abandon so far are:
configuration management - Profile Manager works only sometimes and is sluggish to say the least
home directories - the home sync just doesn't work for Mac libraries such as iPhoto and iTunes
software update server - worked, broke, fixed, worked, broke, fixed, ... going away with Mountain Lion.
What works for me is user management, file server, web server and Time Machine backup, haven't gotten around to test VPN yet.
Given that Mountain Lion is coming next month and presumably I'll have to buy new license for the Server version I am not sure if it's worth it.
As I see it using a plain vanilla Lion or Mountain Lion system I can still do file server, web server and Time Machine backup. What I'd lose is the user management and I am not sure about VPN on a non-Server system but not really important. User management is a one time task for 5 Macs that's it.
Would be interested to hear opinions from you folks about pros / cons of using a plain Lion or Mountain Lion OS X for server tasks vs Server version?
    Anything I am missing here?
    Thanks
    Andy

That's probably true but also within that lies a major problem how this is positioned "The Server for Everyone". I am in IT and know what a DNS is. Most home users would NOT have a DNS running as it's not necessary not even talking about SSL certificates. I think this is a major problem here that it market incorrectly.

    I don't recomend on wireless , even on a wired 1gb network it's slow
use WGM to skip iphoto or be prepaired for a long wait
It's not so much a network bandwidth problem but the fact that home sync doesn't work for package files such as iPhoto, etc. Many people have confirmed that that home sync actually corrupts those files.

trying to get the same funtionallity via terminal.  plus the posiblity of a OS update
that may blow all your finely crafted terminal work all away.
Don't intend to do terminal but for example take "File Sharing". It's an Server option but every Mac also has file sharing under the "Sharing Settings". As far as I can tell the server actuallty is just an overlay over the Mac sharing option because if I define a file share it's also updated in the sharing option.
Same thing goes for the Webserver. Hence I am thinking that Server really only is a central console for some basic services that can also be available by using standard OS X functionality.

  • How to delete zip file in sftp server

    Hi Gurus,
I am having one .zip file with data files inside on the sftp server. Can you please how to delete the .zip files in the sftp server. I am able to delete normal files by using 'rm' on sftp.
And one more request my sftp is prompting for the password everytime, then i need to enter the password manually. Can any one suggest how to write in shell script to accept that.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Nagendra

You might want to look into user equivalence and configure a certificate for ssh so it does not prompt for a password.
It will also allow you to use sftp without a prompt for a password.
    On the server side:
Edit /etc/ssh/sshd_config and remove the # from the following:
    RSAAuthentication yes
    PubkeyAuthentication yes
    AuthorizedKeysFile .ssh/authorized_keys
    Then restart the ssh server:
    /etc/init.d/sshd restart
Login as the user for whom this is for:
    su - <username>
    mkdir .ssh
    chmod 700 .ssh
    On the client side:
    Run the following command:
    ssh-keygen -t rsa (omit password)
Then use the following to copy the public key from the client to the
    corresponding login .ssh directory on the server side;
    scp .ssh/id_rsa.pub username@remote_host:.ssh/authorized_keys

  • Can I use an external drive for a 2nd time capsule backup?  Other questions too

    My setup:
    1 Macbook Air
    1 Mac mini as HTPC
1 Mac mini as a media server (5tb and growing) with external drives.
I want to get a 2tb time capsule to back up my laptop and mac mini that i use as a HTPC.  Simple enough....
Since the new gen airport extremes support external drives to a time machine back up i want to plug a CineRAID device with 4 6TB drives (12gb of storage in a RAID) and use that as a backup for my media server.  Could I just plug it directly into the mac mini?  Yes, but i am trying to have the lest amount of clutter possible visible. So i want to put in a closet where my router is..
So can I plug in the CineRAID into the usb port for a 2nd time machine backup with massive storage?
    Option 2:
Just get an airport extreme and use the CineRAID for a backup via USB...
Also,  how much space does the airport extreme support?  Like i said up time I am at 5tb but its growing fast

So can I plug in the CineRAID into the usb port for a 2nd time machine backup with massive storage?
There is conflicting advice about whether a RAID setup will work with Time Machine, so you can find information that will say that it will work and other info that will say that it will not. In general, Apple says that Time Machine must "see" the RAID drive as a single partition, but they also say that you need to check with the support folks at the drive manufacturer for more details.
The only way that you will know whether it will work or not on your network, is try it out on your network.
Please let us know about your results.
Just get an airport extreme and use the CineRAID for a backup via USB...
    Same as above.
how much space does the airport extreme support?
The firmware on an AirPort Extreme will support up to a 4 TB drive, but I have not tried it on a larger drive, so we'll need another user to answer on that one. Here again, it would be wise to try a few "tests" before you try to backup or transfer a large amount of data.

  • How do i Install the Software Update Server for Windows 7?

How do i Install the Software Update Server for Windows 7? I get an error saying: Can't Install the Software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
I downloaded the software so How do I install it?
Do I install it all over again or when I have windows open?
    I am using Bootcamp.

Back up your system drive completely. If you have no backup plan in place, now would be a good time to start. You can use CarbonCopyCloner to make a complete, bootable backup of your system on another drive or volume. After you have done this: download the combo update using the link supplied by Niel and run the installer.

  • How to set up a basic file sharing server for my small architectural business?

I have no idea if I have posted in the correct area as this is my first forum post within the apple support community!
I have been using a 21.5" imac running 10.6.8 for the past 5 years to run my small home based architectural design business. I have been using the internal hard drive & backing up the necessary data to a simple usb external hard drive. I am now looking to firstly purchase a new imac 27" retina and purchase new autocad lt 2015 for mac software. I am looking to have another imac (my old mac) running in conjunction with the new mac. I want both macs to be able to access the same data and am slightly unsure what is the best way to achieve this.....As my old mac is currently only running snow leopard and an old version of autocad for mac 2011 it wont run on any more recent OS. Essentially i believe I have 2 main options with this.... (1) I Accept that I have to purchase 2 no. autocad lt 2015 licences @ a cost of £2300. Or option (2), I only run autocad on the new mac as this will be the primary station and the old mac used for primarily for admin & accounts. I have also recently discovered that it is possible to rent autocad licences for £300p/a which may also be another option (3)!
I previously had a problem where my hard drive failed on my mac & lost all data on the internal hard drive, luckily I had been backing up all data regularly to my external hard drive and now loss occurred! Obviously with any new system I want to ensure that my data is safe!
I currently utilise about 250GB of data for business operations but this will obviously grow with time.
In the future I would like to have the option of potentially being able to access the network data remotely via macbook pro whilst abroad although at this stage this really isnt my primary objective. Although I believe I could achieve this through apple remote desktop.
I suppose I should provide some information with regard to the required speed of the system...I regularly open 50-100 photos at the same time totalling around 250-500MB. I would like the system to be able to handle this fairly easily.
I have been trawling through forums and to be honest they are totally confusing me. I have also spent time on the phone to the apple business team and have also discussed my objectives with a member of the apple team in store.
There have been various options advised to me and I really do not know which is the most appropriate route forward.
1 - Using a mac mini as the file server and linking the 2 mac devices to this and backing up the mac mini to an external hard drive to ensure no loss of data.
2 - Using a time capsule as a file server and linking the 2 mac devices to this and backing up the TC to an external hard drive to ensure no loss of data.
3 - Using the new mac hard drive and linking the 2 macs via thunderbolt (old mac does not have thunderbolt and so I guess I would need another new mac?!) and then backing up the data to a time capsule.
4 - Using a RAID based server and linking the 2 no. macs.
Sorry to ramble but any advice really would be greatly received!

    Hi sblemings,
    Welcome to the community.
I think with your scenario you should ask yourself, how complicated do you want the setup to be and how much time would you have to be able to resolve an issue should one occur with this setup.
All the options that have been advised would work but they come with complexity and therefore time.
4 - Using a RAID based server and linking the 2 no. macs.
Sorry to ramble but any advice really would be greatly received!
    option 1
Would be a way to achieve what you want, it would centralise your files and you would only need to backup your file server (as long as all the files you wanted backed up were on it). This could be achieved either using the client and sharing various folders or using Server which would give you more options than you would possibly need.
    option 2
This is exactly like option 1 except that you wouldn't have to administer another mac however you may limit any future growth.
    option 3
This option I probably wouldn't pick, you could achieve this with firewire and use a firewire to thunderbolt adapter (saves you having to buy a new iMac)
    option 4
This option would, depending on your RAID level, give you disk redundancy but remember you would still need to back this up, as RAID is NOT a backup solution.
I would also ask is there a pressing need to keep the old iMac in service and complicating things by having a server / NAS? Could you not just transfer all your information over to this and continue with the one backup? I would say that doing it this was would be the simplest way of achieving what you want from what I can take from your question.
As for remotely accessing your data, if you have the right hardware the way to achieve this would be to use a VPN and connect back to your data. However a potentially easier way for you ,would be to use a service like logmein or teamviewer to connect back.
Hope this helps, and by all means any questions please ask.

  • Is it necessary to have a MC for CSA for CallManager ?

I would like to know if it is possible to install Cisco Security Agent on my CallManager without haveing a Managenent Center.
If yes, what are the principal differencies with the utilisation of a Management Center ?
    Thank you for your help.

The only way to gain visibility to the Rules is to import them into a functioning CSA MC server.
Here's the name of the most recent version of the exported rule set that is available at this location:
    http://www.cisco.com/kobayashi/sw-center/telephony/crypto/voice-apps/
    CiscoCM-CSA-4.0.3.728-1.1.10.export
Cisco Security Agent (CSA) policy version 1.1(10) for CallManager releases 3.2(3), 3.3, 4.0 & 4.1. This policy is to be imported into the Managed Console version of the Agent.
If you download the file, you can review the policy - which looks like it is in XML. However, the easiest way to read the policy would be to import this above export file into a CSA MC, which could be an fully-licensed or evaluation-version of the VMS product.
    Hope this helps,

  • File upload to sftp server using apex

We have an SFTP server on Linux and we want to provide users with web-based interface (Oracle APEX has been chosen for that purpose) so they can upload their flat files to our sftp server via secure transmission. is it possible to implement on APEX? What might be possible solution? or any workarouds?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Kevin,
    >
if I got it right, in such a case files have to be stored in database directory, as far as I know APEX only allows to store files in database tables. is there any way to put files to a directory without storing them in tables? For instance, I want files to be placed in some oracle directory when users choose files with FILE BROWSE item and then submit the page.
    >
Yes APEX stores files to tables, but there is a way to store them to OS directory.
I don't know much about the plugin SaveToDisk:
    http://apex-plugin.com/oracle-apex-plugins/process-type-plugin/savetodisk_167.html
but i have tried a blog solution by Håvard Kristiansen and it works fine:
    http://monkeyonoracle.blogspot.in/2009/10/storing-images-outside-oracle-xe-with.html
He has given this solution to store images outside Oracle XE i.e. to a server directory.
    I had done this way:
    1) User uploads a file through file browse.
    2) The file is stored to APEX_APPLICATION_FILES or WWV_FLOW_FILES.
    3) The file is written to the OS directory using the write_to_file procedure mentioned in the blog.
    Hope it helps!

  • Receiver SAP SFTP adapter-errorlog on SFTP server

    Experts,
I am using receiver SAP SFTP adapter to connect to an SFTP server and send files.Receiver SFTP server is a VMS system.I could able to write the files to home directory of the user that has been given, but apart from writing the files I am seeing warning log file in the the target folder on SFTP server like below description.I am giving dot(.) in the file path to write the files to the default directory that has been assigned to the user given by receiver SFTP server team.
WARNING: ssh_file_server_receive_proc: platform cannot stat() filename /home/dir1/dir2 ./TestFile(TestFile is my file name) .
Just to test,we placed files in the receiver SFTP server using same user and password as the PI recv SFTP channel with command line and winsCP client tool, but we don't see any error logs on the server with WinSCP tool or command line transfer of the files.Log file with above  warning is generating only when we place files on the server using SAP SFTP adapter in the recv channel of PI.
Please let me know,if you have any insight or seen similar issue.
