Shared Email Account - Who has replied to what by color?

I work for in an office there is just myself and another girl. We are running into an issue where we both reply to the same email, which is starting to get old. We do not want to split the inbox into different folders. It would just be nice to look at the
messages and if I reads/replies message (A) it would be "Green" if she reads/replies to message (B) it would be "Pink". If it was new "Blue" and if we both looked at it "Grey" I have no idea if it can happen or not,
but willing to take any and all ideas.
We use the same Email on Outlook it is set up as IMAP. I know Outlook has a way for you to Categorize email, but it needs to be set up as POP3.
Please Help :)

Hi,
As you are using an IMAP account, please note Category is not supported for IMAP in Outlook, this is by design.
Based on the description, my understanding is that you and the girl share the same email account? If so, there is nothing we can do to let Outlook distinguish who is using the account or mark the item. There is no such method to realize your request
so far.

  • Can't see who has replied to the thread in the forum, its pointess?

What's the point in creating a system where you can't see who has replied to the thread? Its absolutely F**CKING pointless? Does anyone at Adobe have any brains or are they all sitting with their heads up their backsides?
Surely before you release such garbage you test for these very simple issues, right?
osgood_(NOT M Golding) If anyone at Adobe is monitoring this please get my screen named changed to what it was previously as well.

It needs a 'latest reply' on the posted list page like the old version otherwise you have no idea if anyone has replied to the post or not without opening it.

The line below is not that necessary in the order of priority, which for all intense and purposes is quite useless. I don't really care about how long ago something was posted or where it was posted but an indication to show 'updated' posts and by who is vital.
9 minutes ago in Dreamweaver support forum
Why do we even need 'Dreamweaver support forum'. We already know that's where we are! I guess a selection of posts from other forums may appear in a 'general' postings list somewhere, but who really cares - if I'm asking a question related to DW that's the forum I'm going to, not a general list as I don't care a monkey knackers what's been posted in Fireworks or InDesign or Illustrator. If I did I'd go to those forums.
If you are tracking several postings it is going to become hugely annoying for both the person who has asked the question and the people helping the original poster as many replies will potentially go unnoticed and not resolved.
And what's with the silly horizontal scroll bar being created for long lines of text? That's annoying too.

  • HT4191 how do I not sync notes with my email? I have a business email on my iphone as well as his iphone. Now all of my notes are on his phone, and all of his notes are gone. We have never adjusted any settings, I only added the shared email account to hi

How do I not sync notes with my email? I have a business email on my iphone as well as my husbands iphone. Now all of my notes are on his phone, and all of his notes he previously has on his iphone are gone. We have never adjusted any settings or hooked it up to itunes, I only added the shared email account to his phone. Help???

    Hi StoneLeadyFarms,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like notes on your devices may have synced when the email account was added, as described here:
    iOS: Syncing Notes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4191
Notes are associated with an IMAP email account or iCloud account. To sync Notes, enable Notes for each account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Settings > iCloud.
You can stop syncing notes by tapping Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars or Settings > iCloud, tapping the email address that you added, and switching Notes to the off position.
Additionally, if your husband has backed up his iPhone to iTunes or iCloud, the steps in this article can help with recovering the lost notes from his device:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

  • Why are my tags not syncing for a shared email account? IE One person tags an email as "Work" but it does not show on other users Thunderbird.

Subject says it all for the most part.
A shared email account we'll call "[email protected]" is not syncing tags across other end users Thunderbird. User A will tag an email as Work but it will not sync/show on anyone else's application. I've read that Thunderbird stores tags locally now? Is there a way to sync them up to our IMAP server? Or would we have to revert to a previous version of Thunderbird (if so which)?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

the issue is probably that the server does not support tags..... Thunderbird stores them locally, but syncs them were the server supports it.

  • MAIL - click REPLY, Mail uses different email account to send reply

    MBP Early 2011
    4 GB Memory 2.3 i5
    10.7.5
    Hi.
When I click reply in MAIL the from field gets filled with one of my other account emails. I want the from email address to be the same as the original address the other person used. I get the drop down window to decide which account to use. But MAIL always picks the same less used account to fill the field. I have looked and can't find the way to fix this.
The "send new message from" box has the proper email/account highlighted. Mail still uses one of my other accounts/emails -- mind you it is always the same account it uses.

One option you can do is to rename the plist file, which keeps track of your mail options. It's possible it's corrupt and not recognizing your change. The downside is you may have to enter your mail account information and options again.
If you want to try it, close the mail application. Go to "your user name"/library/preferences and find com.apple.mail.plist . Hold down the alt key, click on it, and rename it, perhaps to com.apple.mail.oldplist. Restart mail, which will create a new plist file. Go into Preferences and on the composing tab set it to what you want.  If that now works, you can erase the file you renamed, or just leave it there if you want.

  • Multiple Email accounts and 1 reply to address

I have 3 Email accounts setup on my Iphone one is Gmail one is .mac and the third is my Exchange IMAP email. my question is when i send an email from either my .mac account or my Exchange IMAP account and when the person replies to the message it automatically goes to my Gmail account. the email accounts are setup like this on the phone 1. Gmail 2. .mac 3 IMAP exchange. Does anyone know how to change the reply to address so when I send a message from my .mac account they reply to the .mac account and the same way for my IMAP account?
    Thank you,
    Jason.

I found the Other short cut and that did not solve my problem.
I also tried removing all of my email accounts from the phone except the IMAP Exchange account and I then sent myself a test message and the return address is still my Gmail email address. The Gmail email address is what is set up on my apple account so do you think that when I registered my phone through Itunes that that email address is set up for auto reply on my phone since it is my contact email address on my account?

  • ICloud family email account? Don't understand what happens to the other email addresses.

After updating my devices to ios5 I was going to move to iCloud. Got message that not all email accounts would forward (I have family plan with multiple email accounts), and I don't really understand what I need to do to get everything moved to iCloud.

You can move the master and sub accounts on a Mobileme Family Plan individually to iCloud: each account needs to move separately, going to http://me.com/move and will become an individual and separate iCloud account. This can be done in any order, but obviously if you move the master account first you can no longer use it to administer the sub-accounts; and if you move a sub-account first you can't create a new sub-account to replace it.
The master account will get the free extension to 20GB until 30 June 2012; the sub-accounts won't.

  • I have multiple email accounts.  Wrong reply address.

I have rules set up to move these messages as they arrive.  On one account, when I reply, Mail automatically uses my default account instead of the received account.  Is there any way to change this?

Yes get a Email program that actually works correctly. There are a few, Thunderbird for one.

  • I lost connectivity from my mail aol account, and can not use mail to email, the email account is off line. What do I need to change to bring the account in line? The take accounts online function will not allow it to go on line

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
First, just confirming that you realize you can always access your AOL email account by going directly to www.aol.com from the Safari browser (or Firefox, Chrome, etc.) until you get the Apple Mail problem fixed.
If you cannot connect directly through a browser, it's quite possible that AOL is doing maintenance or having a temporary problem. It happens with surprising frequency to most online hosts. I usually check downrightnow.com, but AOL is not one of the services for which they collect trouble reports.
Reconnecting your Apple Mail to your AOL account:
In the Apple Mail menubar, click on the Mailbox, Get New Mail, and highlight the AOL account.
You should see the 'spinning wheel' next to the account name for a moment while your AOL mail is retrieved.
    That should successfully reconnect you.
Occasionally my ISP seems to corrupt a few packets and I'll get a message that all my external email account password are rejected, and asks me to re-enter them. Instead of re-entering passwords, I click 'cancel', and use this same procedure to re-connect.
NOTE: I'm on Snow Leopard OS X 10.6, and Mail 4.5 (1084) but I believe the process to reconnect did not change since OS X 10.5 Leopard.

  • So, I need to create a rescue email account so I can get what my secruity question answers are, but when I go to my accounts to do that, it asks for the answers, and I don't know them! Any help?

I'm getting so tired of this.
Any ideas on what to do ?

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer 2 of your questions, you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

Just to clarify, I use my domains webmail and in my webmail I have a signature set up for my account. I use Thunderbird to send and receive mail from that account. If I send an email from Thunderbird will it use the signature I have set on my servers webmail account or do I need to set a signature in Thunderbird. Thanks

thunderbird does not even know web mail exists. so nothing erb mail will apply to Thunderbird.
