Shared objects failing

Does anybody know why a Flash 7 projector file that saves
shared objects would suddenly stop working? I have a multi-swf
project that runs through a master projector (.exe) The master file
loads in swf files as needed. Shared objects are saved to track
progress and save user names etc. This has all been working
perfectly. recently a number of users have reported that the data
is no longer persistent. These users a seem to be using new
machines so they have FP8 installed for their browsers. Is there a
known problem with FP8 causing FP7 projectors to fail saving shared
objects? I am unable to recreate the problem, but we are getting
more and more reports of this behavior every day. I have found no
mention of this problem after extensive searches on the web. I find
it hard to believe that no-one else has seen this problem.
Can somebody help me track this problem down?
Thanks
Colin

Hi,
I am not able to reproduce the issue.
I tried with the latest AIR 4.0 build on iPad version 7.0 and Flash Pro CC version 13.1.0.217.
Could you please share the Flash Pro version you are using?
Also if possible, please share the sample app as it would help us in investigating the issue.
Thanks,
Pranali

Greetings,
So today I decided I'd play an old windows game with my son. It's been a while since I've played  wine game with him... since my last reinstallthat I did just for the S&G to play with the new install method.
Anyways, I go through the motions, installing wine and all that. Then I go and click on the game to run. Nothing.
So, I go and try to run it through command line. I get this fun stuff:

Honestly, I did not know about pkgfile.
So, I installed it and determined that while I have libsm, I was missing lib32_libsm. So installing that fixed my issue with WINE.
Thanks for the leg up Trilby! Most appreciated!

• JRE 1.4.0 on RedHat7.1. - error... failed... cannot load shared object file

I just installed JRE 1.4, but it doesn't work:
failed /usr/java/j2re1.4.0/lib/i386/client/libjvm.co, because libstdc++-libc6.1.1.so.2: cannot load shared object file: no such file or directory
When i check:
ls /lib/libc-*
/lib/libc/libc-2.2.2.so
What files should I install to get it work?
Thank you.

The best way to explain this problem is JRE 1.4.0 is execting an old shared object for libstdc which had been updated in Redhat 7.2. Since, the functionality in libstdc should still exist in the newer version of libstc I simply made a symbolic link pointing to the current version of libstdc to satisfy JRE 1.4.0.
ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2Hope this helps.

• Ld.so.1: process name :fatal: shared object name :mmap failed.

Hi All
ld.so.1: <process name>:fatal:<shared object name>:mmap failed. Resource temporarily unavailable.
I get the above message when running my applications in zones. What does this mean. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards

That message looks pretty much like the runtime linker tried to call mmap(2), got EAGAIN, and just gave up with a perror(). According to the mmap man page that means either "the pages could not be locked in memory" or "out of swap space". I don't think the linker would be locking pages in memory, so are you sure you have enough swap space? (I can imagine that booting a zone would eat up a good chunk.)

• Having problem displaying remote shared objects on flash

hi
I am using red5 flash server and at that side creating a shared object called chatSharedObject
For the client side,I am using openlaszlo platform, but using actionscript 3  classes for the shared object implementation. cilent application is connecting to the shared object on the red5 side successfully(as I see on the red5 logs).
here is the calling code snippet:
<button id="sendButton">send
          <handler name="onclick" method="sendClicked" />
          <method name="sendClicked" args="v=0">
            if (message.text != "") {
        //Debug.write("Message sent!");
        classroot.writeSharedObject(message.text);
        message.clearText();
        message.setAttribute("text_y", 0);
        </method>
</button>
<method name="writeSharedObject" args="message">
//shared object send method is being called
        this.send("writeMessage",loginScreen.getUsername(),message);
</method>
<!--this method writes the messages to the debug window which will be shown to all users-->
<method name="writeMessage" args="username, msg">
        //Debug.debug(msg);
        messageArea.addText(username+ " : "+msg+"\n");
</method>
When I generate the flash object and try to use this application, nothing is being displayed although there is no problem on this issue on the development enviroment. Problem causes when I try to run the swf10 flash object.
Is this maybe a flash security issue? Although I have added the corresponding locations as the trusted location on the flash settings manager. Still problem goes on. And I think this is not about the flash player, it might be a special problem about the flash object.
Couldn't find the solution for a week,
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Cem

i can even gointo firefox and chrome and save the shared object. then open my i.e and see that object in the results page. but if i save the shared object in i.e it throws that error on the results page. So i'm pretty sure it must be the flushing of the object. Pasting my save code below:

          if (flushstatus != null) {
            switch (flushstatus) {

If your library links to other shared libraries, use -L options to point to directories other than system directories, and the -l option for the library name after "lib".
When building shared libraries, you also need to list all system libraries explicity, unfortunately, to ensure your library has the right dependencies.
You should also add -zdefs to force the linker to complain about unresolved symbols. The default when building shared libraries is not to warn about them.
You want to be sure you have included all the needed libraries in the link.
Your link command should look like this :
sunCC -G -m32 -o lookup.so lookup.o -zdefs \
      -L /usr/local/lv71/AppLibs -llvrt.so.7.1 -lGL.so -lOSMesa.so.6 -lCstd -lCrun -lm -lcYou don't need a -L option for /usr/lib or the directories in the Sun Studio installation. The CC driver knows where to find system libraries.
That said, I don't think the command line issues are the cause of the multiple definition error.
Binaries created by Sun C++ are not compatible with binaries created by other C++ compilers like g++. Is liblvrt.so.7.1 a g++ library?

It turns out that /usr/lib/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache was created with permissions 640 (due to my umask). The solution was to chmod 644 it.
(similarly, gtk-update-icon-cache created /usr/share/icons/hicolor/icon-theme.cache with wrong permissions (640). This did not seem to cause issues though.)
Hopefully it will be of help to someone.

• Shared Objects and IOS 5.0+

So, I need a straight answer. Can I use Shared Objects for my game, or will apple fail me for using them?  Will Shared Objects be backed up with iCloud?
Thanks,
diss.

Boat,
From what I have found if your IPA/APK/SWF is the same name then shared objects data should retain.
So if version 1 of your app was
AppleApp.ipa published from a swf by the name of AppleApp.swf
then when you update on your final publish save your swf and .ipa under the same name
Dont do this
First version is
AppleAppV1.swf published out to AppleApp.ipa
Second version is AppleAppV2.swf published out to AppleApp.ipa
The swf is what the shared object is associated with so keep that the same from update to update.

How can I fix this?

Just had this problem in Mandrake 9.0 with jsdk1.4.1, Same as RedHat 8.0 and 7.x.
On the RPMS section of Disc 1 (I imagine the same for Red Hat) look for the RPM libstdc++2.x.y.rpm (I am not sure what xyz are, the 2 is the key) The other libstdc++5.x.y.z.rpm's are already installed.
Install this RPM and it installs the proper libraries. (as root)
rpm -iv libstdc++2.x.y.rpm In fact Forte4 doesn't even even boot as it uses this lib for the splash screen.
Netscape 7 also needs this library.

As I understand, the general advice was that you needed to set your ORACLE_HOME variable, which I did in the shell script that starts sql developer:
sqldeveloper.sh
#!/bin/bash
ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/instantclient/
export ORACLE_HOME
The file which it had been complaining about is in that folder, and it seems to find it, but now I get an error "libocijdbc11.so: libaio.so.1: cannot open shared object file."
Where can I get this libaio.so file?
Or am I going about this wrong?
(I have seen other people talking about a file ".tnsnames.ora". Not clear to me how that is related, but I don't have that file. http://mikesmithers.wordpress.com/2010/01/03/solved-%E2%80%93-the-mystery-of-sqldeveloper-and-the-missing-ocijdbc11/)

I'm on Windows, but do mind you need a 11.2 client as home. Alternatively try setting the home to your sqldev installation folder.
Hope that helps,
K.

• Error while loading shared libraries: librt.so.1: cannot open shared object

error while loading shared libraries: librt.so.1: cannot open shared object
I cant run my apache server v2.2.3.
Can someone help me?
thanks in advance

That could be an accessibility issue. Check the user with whom you installed Apache server. Check the user has permissions to access the libraries.

• How to Get property values from Shared Object in client's load event - Very urgent

I am using shared object to share data between two users. First user connect to shared object and set some value in shared object. Please consider that second user has not connected with the shared object yet.
Now when second user connects to the server and try to get that property set by first user, he could get shared object but could not get properties of Shared object set by first user. I observed few times that Second user can get these properties within "Sync" event between two users. But I would like to get these values for Second user in any stage (i.e. in load event etc.). Whenever Second user tries to get the property of Shared object, the object will reset the actual property value and then return reset value.
Anyone faced such issue while using shared object between two users. If so, I would appreciate if you could let me know your suggestions for following questions:
1) Is there any way to get all the properties of shared object before sync event called, as I want to get it immediately when second user connect to the application and perform next task based on the values stored in shared object.
2) Is it possible for second user to check whether any property has been set by first user? So that second user can use the property instead of reset it.
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.
