SharePoint 2013 Not Loading CSS On Site Template

Hi
I have a question regarding adding a site collection with a custom template ( by selecting a template later option)
Basically I have a site that I need to move over from one server to another. The template saves as a template no problem with all lists etc.
When adding the site collection, I choose custom and select template later. After going to the site collection it then asks to pick a template, after which I choose solution gallery and upload and activate the site template I made before. I then return to
template picker page and choose the custom template uploaded
The problem I am having is that when the template is chosen and being used it does not load any of the css or anything. Everything is just listed downwards and all jumbled up all over the place.
Both servers are running SP2013. The Site Template doesnt have any major things on it apart from some custom new/edit forms and normal SPD 2013 Workflows.
Any ideas on how I can get the CSS to load?

Hi
you can check if css have loaded but isn't the last one !
to do this use a dev tool ( F12 in IE ) and check for an element if a style from your custom css file is there and overwrited by other css file )
For more details check this doc

  • SharePoint 2013 - First load takes long time

I could be barking up the wrong tree here, but Ive had a continuous problem loading sites for the first time in SharePoint 2013. I've tried multiple warm up scripts, cleared out the cache, increased resources.
    Specs
    SharePoint 2013 Server
    OS: Windows Server 2013
    RAM: 16GB
    CPU: 2x 4cores
    SQL Server 2012
    OS: Windows Server 2013
    RAM: 8GB
    CPU: 1x 4cores
This server is still in development, so there isn't a lot of traffic going to it.  I opened the Developer Dashboard to try and pinpoint where the latency was coming from.  One process or scope by far takes the longest.
    SPClaimsCounterScope
    Start Time(ms)489
    Duration(ms)6488
    CPU(ms) 6343
Next would be SPSqlClient which only takes about 1sec. After the WebApplication loads the first time, the performance is fine.  It's just that first time after a reboot, reset, or first thing in the morning.

    Hi
There is a 'known issue' with SharePoint's initial load. SharePoint runs on the .Net framework on IIS, which goes to sleep by itself, or in your case an IISRESET restarts all the services.
Though the IIS services are running, nothing is going on until that first request is made to the website. At that moment, the .Net Framework has to compile all of the DLLs that comprises SharePoint and its features. So the initial load will take a long time,
and the more features you're using (User Profile, Metadata, etc), the longer it'll take.
Also following are some of the links which can be helpful

  • What's the difference between SharePoint 2013 and Office 365 Team Sites?

    Hi there,
What are the differences between SharePoint 2013 and Office 365 Team Sites?
If I would like to develop a professional corporate website with SharePoint technology (because the company allready uses Office 365), do you recommend using SharePoint 2013 (in the cloud) or Office 365 Team Sites? And why?
    Thank you very much!

You cannot make SPO Team Sites anonymous-enabled, therefor they're a moot point for a public website.
While slightly out of date, take a look at this:

  • Sharepoint Central Administration appears to not load css or scripts

We have SBS 2011 with Sharepoint and i'm currently trying to enable a few features in the Central Administration. Our companyweb site works great but when logging in to Central Administration all we get is what appears to be raw HTML and background javascript
errors which cause a number of the buttons to not work at all.
I have uninstalled the Central Administration and reinstalled it but the problem persists.
I have checked the permissions at
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033\STYLES
And everything seems to suggest files are available and security is set correctly.
I've also tried to run in Firefox and Chrome with the same results.
Does anyone have any experience of this issue or where to start troubleshooting it.

    Hi ,
Please try re-run the "SharePoint 2010 Products Configuration Wizard" for your SharePoint farm, see if it would fix this issue.

  • Safari not loading .css files / hanging page load

A bit of an odd one this...
I'm having a few issues a couple of websites in that the page takes an age to load - and when (if) it does, the CSS file hasn't loaded, so the page is unstyled.
One page is http://www.liverpoolfc.tv - the main page and the advert page before it both have the same issue.
From the activity report, this is because the browser is not completing the download of the file http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/lfc.css - although this will download fine if I download the file not as a part of the site.
The (Safari) activity report shows that the page's .css file is stalling, in this case at 8.0KB out of 8.6KB - this is consistent each time I try to load the page.
The problem occurrs in both Safari (3.2.1) and Firefox (3.0.6) on Mac OS X 10.5.6. It also happens with the current version of WebKit and Camino. The computer is up to date on all other relevant patches, including the recent Security Update, Java Update 3 and Flash.
I'm experiencing this problem with another website, again with the .css file not loading.
Similarly, I have two computers (both the same versions of software) and the problem is consistent between them.
    What I've tried so far...
    - resetting Safari
    - deleting the cookies manually
    - using a proxy server
    - starting Safari in Rosetta
    - using a copy of Safari without any user preferences (via the System Admin login)
None of these have made a difference. However, given that this is a problem across Safari, Firefox etc., I suspect this must be an issue in a shared component.
    Any thoughts?

    1. From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
    2. From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane. Test.
    3. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Test.

    Hi.
Just wondering, since it seems to be about permissions, did you see this in the TechNet article:
    Important:
The account that is used by the application pool must also have Full Control permissions to the User Profile service application. If you create a new application pool and a new account, make sure that
you add the account to the list of accounts that can use the User Profile Service Application, and grant Full Control permissions to the account. For more information, see
Restrict or enable access to a service application (SharePoint 2013).

  • After removal of conduit malware websites do not load CSS. (= all text websites)

I was hit by Conduit and could not completely remove it, although I have all the tools. (Conduit persisted after all traces were gone using Malwarebytes, resetting homepage, untrusted certificate warnings, disabling it in add-ons as there was no removal option, etc). The problem is currently resolved but I wonder about one behavior I have seen before:
Some pages could no longer load CSS, even if the main page of a site resolved perfectly. This included sites with log in and interactive content.
I managed to return to normal by restoring to a recent restore point (Windows 7) but the behavior troubles me. Can anyone tell me what might have been going on. I assume, as I got the malware from a downloading a legitimate program from what appeared to be a legitimate site (obviously not), even though I rejected the program and shut down the computer when the download could not be interrupted.
So: What is going on with Firefox's inability to parse or recognize CSS?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

  • ICloud Add-in for OUtlook 2013 not loading

I am tryng to sync Outlook 2013 (WIndows 7 Ultimate 64 bit)  with iCloud. It will just not load the Add-in!
I cna see the Add-in reference in the Registry. Apple.DAV.Addin is in  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins. Load behaviour is set to 3 as recommended. (I've tried it on 2 as well)
How is it that it the iCloud Add-in does NOT appear when I go into "View and Manage Log-ins" in Outlook? It appears under NEITHER 'Enabled' NOR 'Disabled' categories.
I am desperate to get this resolved... Can anyone throw any light on it ? Please?
Not sure what is rubbish.... iCloud or Outlook!
    Best wishes
    Nick Hepher
PS I have tried logging out of iCloud and signing back in.... probably a dozen times so far.. but with no success in solving this problem. I have also re-installed both iCloud AND Outlook. nothing works! SO PLEASE don't suggest those routes!

I struggled with this but found the answer.  You need to set the LoadBehaviour property in the Registry to 2 (Load at Start Up).
    Run RegEdit
    Navigate to here [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Apple.DAV.addin]
LoadBehaviour will probably be sitting at 0.  Double click that to open, change it to 2 and you're done.
Open Outlook, the Add-in will probably still be inactive.  MAke it active, close Outlook, open it again and it should work...

Do you have administrative rights on the site. Only site administrator can upload the solution to solution gallery and activate that solution.

  • Sharepoint 2013 custom search results grouping display template

    Hi,
I am trying to implement custom grouping for search result items. I would like to group them by a managed property, but without using result blocks (query rules). The idea is to sort the results by the property and then compare the current item (ctx.CurrentItem)
with the previous item using ctx.CurrentItem.ParentTableReference. If a new property value is detected we insert a new 'group header' (just some simple html). The problem is the ParentTableReference is undefined. Shouldn't there be such a property in current
    item object?
I'm implementing this in a custom search result item display template...
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to customize search result items display template.
I suggest you get enumerate all properties of JavaScript context object and debug you code to watch the
    ctx.CurrentItem object.

  • Sharepoint 2013 not installed yet, so should I install Sharepointg Integrated mode on my SQL server right now?

    I'm installing SQL 2008 R2 onto a Windows 2008 R2 server in preperation for a Sharepoint 2013 install.
In the midst of the SQL installation here I have the option of installing the Sharepoint Mode Default Configuration.
Should I do this or should I continue installing with native mode dafeult configuration. Then perhaps adding the Sharepoint integration afterwards.
    What would you advise?

You did not mention if you are planning more than 1 server, but best practice would dictate so.
If true, then, do NOT install the SRS components (presume you mean those) on the SQL box.
If you are planning to have BOTH SSRS in Native mode and also a 2nd instance in SharePoint mode, then you "may" elect to install the SSRS Native mode elements on your SQL Server.
You want to install the SSRS instance in SharePoint mode on one of your SharePoint servers.
The requirement for SSRS in SharePoint mode is that it be placed on a SharePoint server.  You have two options:
    1. Make your SQL Server a full fledged SharePoint server in order to use SSRS in SharePoint mode (not recommended)
    2. Setup SSRS on a SharePoint server (recommended)
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks, Eric S. Pcubed

  • Safari not loading particular web sites

    Safari 5.1.7: Snow Leopard 10.6.8: MBP 2.53 Mid 2009: 8/500
For some reason, Safari does not load drudgereport.com or rushlimbaugh.com.  This just started today.
Firefox has some problems too. Chrome loads both sites just fine.
Here is what I've done to try and remedy this in Safari - my browser of choice:
    Re-Installed Safari
    Deleted Drudge and Rush cookies
    Reset Safari
Checked my fonts for duplicates (none found)
Restarted modem & Apple router (shut down for 1 minute +)
    Ran applejack
    Ran Coctail
    De fragged hard drive
Shut down and restarted after a minute or two
Used terminal to find and enter the IP address. (host drudgerepord.com  and host rushlimbaugh.com)
Limbaugh took me to Premier Radio Network and Drudge took me nowhere.
All the other sites I visit regularly load just fine.
    Can't think of anything else.
UPDATE: I just spent 20 minutes trying to post my problem in an intelligent and comprehensive manner. But... just now I tried both sites again and they loaded fine. So, if you've read this far, I won't be wasting anyone's time. But I'm just going to leave this here anyway.

If you are using an Intel Machine, the 3.0 codec is not available - only for the older iMac machines. Have a look at this thread from the Real Player Forum.
Assuming you are using an Intel machine - To use the 3.0 codec, which is necessary to play the sound files you referenced, you would need to start Safari in Rosetta mode first.
Back to Real Player and your original question:
This is from Real Players on-line help data base:
When you install RealPlayer for Mac OS X, you are prompted to decide which types of files you want to open with it. RealPlayer becomes the default media player for the file types you choose to associate with it.
If you install another media program after installing RealPlayer, some of these file types may be associated with the new program.
To reassign these file types to RealPlayer:
Open RealPlayer for Mac OS X, click the RealPlayer menu, and choose Preferences. The Preferences box opens.
    Select the Media Types category.
Select the file types you want RealPlayer to play by default, and then click Save Media Types. The changes will take affect after you restart RealPlayer.
If you are still experiencing problems, Safari may be overriding your choices. To reassign file-types for Safari:
Find one of the downloaded files in the Finder.
Hold the control key down and click on the file.
Select Get Info from the file's menu.
In the Open With area of the file's Info window, choose RealPlayer as the application.
    Click Change All.
Follow the above instructions and post back.
