SharePoint PPS Hide null or blank value in performancePoint chart drill down.
Hi,
I am using SharePoint Performance Point Service. Hide null or blank value in Performance Point chart drill down.
Thanks & Regards
Poomani Sankaran
Hi Hyaron,
I am unable to reproduce the issue in my test environment. How did you add the drilldown feature? Were you doing that by setting visibility of the column or of the group? Please ensure to add the drilldown functionality by set the visibility of the workgroup
from the Grouping Pane in the Report Designer.
How did you add the Interactive Sorting on the headers of the two columns? Based on the drilldown functionality, the Interactive Sorting on the second column doesn’t work. So, you can move the Interactive Sorting on the second column. When configuring the
Interactive sorting on the first column, you should set the parent group to sort, and sort by the field that the parent group groups by.
Hope this helps.

SharePoint Performancepoint Analytic chart drill down
Hi,
Anybody can tell me?
In SharePoint performance point analytic chart drill down.
The drill down showing all the dimensions from the datasource but instead of that. I would like to show only the required dimensions only. How to configure it?
Is it possible?
Thanks & Regards
Poomani SankaranHi Poomani,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want the drill down to show only the required dimensions.

Key Figure values based on characteristic Drill-downs
Hello All,
I have Issue with my drilldown options in the report. The values of Sales qty need to change at particular drilldown.
I have Sales Revenue and Sales QTY key figures in my DSO with plant, factory, customer and Business type (Values A, B, C and D) characteristics.
IN the report requirement I want to show the SALES QTY for only Business Type "A" at Plant , factory and customer level, but when I am at the Business code level, then I am to show all the quantities by that level.
THe sales revenue should always show values for all Business code irrespective of the drilldowns.
please provide suggestions and code on how to go about the issue.
thanks,
pra.Hello Guys,
Thanks for your response.
Let me explain clearly...with an example.
We have DSO which has 5 chars and 2 KFs.
Chars - Company Code, Plant, Customer, Material and Business Code (which has values A, B and T).
KFs - Sales Qty and Sales Revenue.
Report output ---
Customer
Company Code
Plant
Material
Business Code
Sales Qty and Sales Rev
Requirement is a follows -
When the report is run.... the report will display on Customer with KFs.
then if user wants to pull company code he can do so...as will other chars (Plant, Material and Business Code)
but the condition is that when the user is seeing the report at customer with KFs ,....the KFs should only show values where business code = "A"
so is the same with other chars - Company code, Plant and Material.
But when user drags and drops the Business Code char in the report against the KFs .then the report should include all Business Codes ( A, B and T) with corresponding sales qty and sales rev for all business codes.
Solution - Partially working--
What I have done..is restricted the sales qty and rev with Business code = A, its working fine for all drill downs except that, when I am at business code level its showing as
Business Code QTY REV
A 300 3000
B 0 00
T 0 00 .
Hope you got the issue. Please let me ,,if you need any information.
Thanks,

Variant Config: Hidding Char with blank values
Hi Experts,
We have a requirement that we need to hide characteristics in sales order that has no value assigned during material configuration. Means if we have 10 characteristics for a material and only 5 are filled for specific configuration then in the display and change mode of sales order, it should show only 5 and not 10.
We tried using config profile, interface design then scope to restrict char with value only. It works fine for already created SO but for new SO it stopped showing any char.
any advise would be much appreciated, Thanks.
AlokJust a thought.
let's assume the characteristic you want is called CHAR.
Then create a dummy characteristic called DUMMY. Create values 'ASSIGNED' and 'BLANK' for DUMMY.
Create a dependency for the values of DUMMY
for 'ASSIGNED':
CHAR SPECIFIED
for 'BLANK':
NOT SPECIFIED CHAR
Then go back in each value of characteristic CHAR and create another dependency as follows:
DUMMY eq 'ASSIGNED'
that way the system should only display those values of CHAR for which DUMMY has a value...
It's a bit of a circular thought I know... Not implemented anything like it myself but it just might work -
Check NULL or BLANK values in Oracle Table

whether this syntax is correct.........What "other syntax item"?
First, just for sanity, whenever you mix 'and' and 'or' logic, it helps to use parentheses to clarify the order of logic, even if you think you understand how it will be applied by default:
WHERE ITEM LIKE(' ') OR ITEM IS NULL AND EMPID=10001;
WHERE (ITEM LIKE(' ') OR ITEM IS NULL) AND EMPID=10001;
WHERE ITEM LIKE(' ') OR (ITEM IS NULL AND EMPID=10001);
Second, the argument for LIKE should always include the wild-card. Some earlier versions of Oracle treated "LIKE ('xyz')" the same as "LIKE ('xyz%')", leading developers to believe that the wild-card was assumed by default. This was actually a bug corrected in later versions.
Also about LIKE, what do you expect your statement to return if a row has ITEM=' xyz' ?
Address those two issues and see if you still have a problem. -
Retain value of Crystal Report variable during drill-down
Dear expert,
In CR, how to have a variable whose value is retained during drill-down? In other words, a variable whose value remains across drill-downs.
I've tried both Global and Shared variables but their values are not retained when drilingl-down (the value is gone or removed).
Thank you very much.
Kind regards,

Blank first page and chart printing on the second page
I have a subreport in my report footer that displays a chart. The detail section is suppressed in the main report. For some reason the chart displays on the second page of the report and the first page is blank except for the report header and page footer. In the section expert the 'new page after' box is checked and grayed out so I can't remove the check to see if that solves the problem. I've never been particularly skilled in regards to reporting and in addition it's been quite a few months since I've even worked on a report. I'm using Crystal XI. Can anyone provide suggestions on where I might look to solve this problem.

How to ignore blank/null key figure value in BI Queries
Reports on Multiprovider - we see some cells of a Key figure as blanks. These blanks are interpreted as zeros by the system and calculated accordingly resulting in incorrect values. As per our requirement, we need a count of all hard/real zeros only, not the blanks. For example, if there are 10 rows of which 6 are real zeros and 4 are blanks - our count should be 6 and not 10.
How to ignore the blanks in BEx queries please?
Thanks for your help.
UpenderRakesh,
It is not possible to find a pattern because the report is on a MultiProvider with 2 InfoProviders- Purchasing documents DSO and Material Movements InfoCube.
Every Purchasing Document has several materials associated with it. These materials are compared with materials in Materials Movement. Not all materials in Purchasing Document are found in Materials Movement. For those Materials found in Materials Movement, the Quantity is obtained. For these found rows, the correct value is showing up - if the quantity is zero, it is showing in reports as zero. If the material is not found in Material Movements then Quantity shows up as blank values.
My requirement is ignore such blank quantities and not count them. Only Quantities with 0 values should be counted. Currently both blanks and zero values are counted showing inflated count.
Thanks,
Upender -
Capturing blank and non blank values in parameter
In one of the report there is only one parameter “BU VP Name”, now the business has added one more field “Director” to the application and they want this to be as a parameter. Now all the new records will have Director name
and old records will be blank for Director. How can I create a multi parameter with blank and relevant values for my report. Please note I am using sharepoint list to create the report.
SFHHi Syedfpl,
According to your description, you want to add a parameter which include a blank value.
In Reporting Service, we are allowed to use blank value for a multivalue parameter, but we are not allowed to use null values. So in this scenario, you should insert some blank values(‘’) into column “Director” so that we don’t need convert null values into
string at query level. Besides, in order to be allowed to use blank values in a parameter, we should choose the option "Allow blank value ("")". Also “Allow multiple values” option should be checked. As we tested in our environment, the
final result looks like below:
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

Converting null and blank to NA in a column of a database table
Hi
This is a simple thing but is giving me a hard time. I need to change the values coming as null or blank to NA . The values comes in a flat file as a source and I need to laod it convertign to NA in database. I wrote the expression as
ISNULL([NPS Rating]) ? "NA" : [NPS Rating] in a derived column and checked the box " retain null values from source as null values in data flow:
However it is not working instead giving the error as : Truncation may occur due to inserting data from dataflow column from column name" with a length of ...........
Can any help me to sort out this problem. Am I writing the correct expression?
Thank you so much for your help in advance.
Kind regards
RamaIn your conditional result force it to the same length and type and make sure it is long enough, e.g.
ISNULL([NPS Rating])==TRUE ? (DT_WSTR,256)"NA" : (DT_WSTR, 256)[NPS
Rating]
and if the data comes from a flat file, the test will most likely need to test for zero length string too, or trim spaces and then test for zero length.
LEN(TRIM([NPS Rating])) == 0 || ISNULL...

Problem with BLANK Value in SSRS Subscription
I have a report that I designed in Vis Studio 2005 and have deployed to SSRS 2005. I have no issues what so ever when running it interactively out of Report Manager. However when running it scheduled via a subscription, I am running into trouble.
This report has a parameter called "Label". It is set up as a String parameter, Allow Blanks, and Multi-Value. (It does not allow me to select Null values...tells me "The properties for the currently selected item are not valid.") I am getting Available and Default values from a query I have created in a separate dataset. This query pulls in all possible values for Label, including a BLANK value (there are values that are and should be Blank).
In my subscription, I want to select all Labels but label 98, including the BLANK. So when I go in to create or edit a subscription, I simply uncheck the 98 label. I can see a blank checked as well. However when the subscription runs, the subscription status tells me " Failure sending mail: Default value or value provided for the report parameter 'Label' is not a valid value." This ONLY occurs when I have the BLANK label selected in my dropdown list!
However, when I run this interactively out of Report Manager, doing the exact same thing (selecting all labels other than label 98, INCLUDING the Blank), it works properly.
What could be going on here? Kinda new at this and totally stumped.
TonyHi Tony,
I met a similar issue before. If I understand correctly, there has Null values in the list not Blank values.
Using Null values in a parameter in subscription is not allowed.
To solve the issue, please change the Null values to Blank values by modifying the query statement of report:
SELECT ... IsNull(column, "") FROM...
By the way, please update the SQL Server Reporting Services to latest version too.
For SQL Server 2005, the latest version is Cumulative Update package 6 for SQL Server 2005 SP3.
