SharePoint read/write list item to another DB/file

Hi All,
I am working on MOSS 2007. I have the following requirement.
There are around 50 document librararies on a site collection. I need to store all the items from these libraries in a locally (it could be DB/CSV or excel or access) and read/write them periodically for some calculations/comparisions.
Note: 1) the VM that I am working doesnt have MS Office installed to try for Access or Excel.
2) Is there a way to use access without needing to install MS Office.
Please let me know the best approach for the above task.

Unable to Read Calendar List Items through CAML

According to your post, my understanding is that you got an error when read calendar list items using CAML.
I created two single line of text columns in the Calendar( Year and Month), then add items in the Calendar to check with your code. The CAML query worked well as below.

Which type of the two columns in your Calendar? Were they text type?
Are you sure the field name(<FieldRef Name='Year'/>,
<FieldRef Name='Month' />) is same as internal name?
We should only use internal name while refrencing columns in CAML query. If you have space In you column , replace it with "_x0020_", such as
News_x0020_Category.

Sharepoint Designer Copy list item over to new list when certain value is met

Hi,
I am copying over an item in one list over to a new list once it meets certain criteria. I have attached the workflow of what I am trying to do here. I have also attached a screenshot of the list on which I am moving item. The list I am moving item
to is identical.
For some reason however this is not working for me. What is happening is when I change the value of 'Current Status' to anyying at all the item is moving. I only want the item to move when it is set to 'Solution Agreed'.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to copy a specific list item to another list using workflow.
I have two list “CustomList001” and “CustomList002”. The list contains two column “Title” and “Current Status”(Choice type). Then I create a workflow for “CustomList001”.

i have a SP Designer workflow which copies one list item to another list
but if i edit the 1st list this will copy a new item to another list i want the same item to be edited without making a new copy of the item.

so in the workflow separate between on edit and on new item, so mostly you will need to either do checking and have variable saved to know if you are editing only, or create 2 workflows one when you add new item and other when u edit (if needed)

How to create list items with multiple attachment files using rest api javascript

In one of user form I am using javascript rest api to create a list item with multiple attachment files. So far I am able to create list item and once created uploading an attachment file. But this is two step process first create an item and then upload
a file.
It create an additional version of the item which is not desired. Also I am not able find a way to attach multiple files in a go. Following is the code I am using.

But this does not solve the core of the issue. You are uploading attachments after creation of item and multiple files are being attached in loop. This is kind of iterative update to an existing item with attachments. This will end up creating multiple versions.
What I am trying to achieve is to create an item along with multiple attachments in a go. No item updates further to attach a file.
Please suggest how this can be done in one go. SharePoint does it when one creates an item with multiple attachment.

Copy windows sharepoint services list items into another sharepoint server list

My requirement I have one windows SharePoint services 2007 site list. one SharePoint server 2013 site. 1.I have to copy data from windows SharePoint services 2007 site list to SharePoint server 2013 site list. 2.when ever data changes in windows SharePoint

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to copy data in SharePoint 2007 list to SharePoint 2013 list and the data in SharePoint 2013 list changes with the data in SharePoint 2007 list.
You could use JavaScript client object model to retrieve SharePoint 2007 list items and copy them to other SharePoint 2013 list.

How does sharepoint designer create list item work ?.

I'am using office 365, and sharepoint-designer (not the pro designer).
There is a workflow rule that allows for creating items in another list.
What i need to do is that if someone creates an entry in List A
That List B gets an update too, based upon List A, and also a 4th list entry of list C (ea string containing "life cycle start").
The workflow with the "rule create item in list", i've set to "start automatically when a new item is created".
So far i've not been able to make it work, and the workflow Always suspends with vague errors, and since it is hosted i cannt do much with the errors.
Could therefore anyone point me to a good youtube explaining this function.
Or might possible point out what often goes wrong when people use this.

I got the first part working now; recap of howto:
First of all, before you create lists and columns write it down on paper, so you will be sure about what names you will give them, as renaming these kinds of things later, will only rename their view but not their old internal name, and as a result you
will get lost if you want to automate stuff later on.
So have you design ready (or in my case; delete current wrong site and start over clean).
Recap :
Using SharePoint designer:
Create List A, use titles as the field to enter product names (or whatever item you like to registrate).
Use the web browser:
Goto List A you just made and set the title column to contain (required) unique index names.
You can do this as Admin through list setting in the list top ribbon.
Create List B using Sharepoint designer (simple list)
In List B create a Lookup list to List A
And select it so that you would like to see the title column in it.
Using the web brouwser, make this column a required field (will become a (*) mark later).
Using SharePoint designer, select list A.
Select properties of List A, create a new (basic) workflow for it.
Here you would assume that you need to get the title in List B, but that's wrong
What one needs to get in List B a new to the current added Item in List A is the following:
Note that the workflow will run under the context of new Items who are added to List A
Create an action rule "Create list item" in the following list, and here select List B
The pop will show you some fields marked with a (*) as required fields.
Now the tricky thing is that is a reference to List A, and not a string.
So you might think its a GUID then or so, but no wrong again.
To get the link to the current List item A inside B.
You will have to link it to "Current Item" (remember the workflow started from list A )
And from the Current Item, you have to select the "ID" property.
Apparently ID is internally used as a reference.
Now whenever you create an Item in list A, it will be created in List B as well as a linked reference.
So for example in A you could add more columns, like serial ID or creation time of article A.
Then you don't have to add these into List B, as when people click on the hyperlink in List B they will be shown the details from list A.

SharePoint 2013 search list item with item id

Hi all,
I have a custom SharePoint list with many list items.
Now I like to search for a specific item in that list with the standard SharePoint item id.
Example:
If I enter in search: '1394'
Result = None
If I enter in search: 'ListItemID:1394'
Result = Success!
How can I search for the item id without typing 'ListItemID' because the user is not able to do this...

Get the Version history of a sharepoint 2013 Custom List item

I am having doubt to retrieve the field version information with the comments.
For this field i am done like this
1.Creating a custom list
2.And enable versioning for the list
3.And add a field with field type 'Multiple Lines of Text' and in the Addition Column Settings section 'select yes radio button option in 'Append changes to the Existing text'.
4.If we done like this the changes to the list item are available outside of field control.
Can any one help me regarding this field to get the all the versions of list item along with modified data.

Read MicroFeed List Items from Office 365/SP online site

Hi all:
We have got a publishing site with Site Feed feature enabled. We are using Site Feed web part and everything gets stored in MicroFeed list.
There is a requirement to read all the items in MicroFeed list using .Net CSOM and also identify the associated attachments. When I try to read items from the list, I can get only get the top level item with a funny guid. The guid relates to the guid of
the web part where users are posting their stuffs. That top level item stores all other posts as its children, which I really need to access. How can I do that ?

Sharepoint 2013 Simple List Item Approval process

I am trying to work out how, in SP 2013 Designer to get a very simple approval process to work and I am not having any luck.
I have a form that adds a list item for requesting the use of our corporate credit card.
Steps:
1) Fill out form with required info (one field is your manager)
2) Email gets sent to manager (noted on the form) to approve or reject the request
3) If Managers approves request > User gets email that it was approved with directions. If manager rejects request > user gets email that the request was rejected with different directions.
4) End workflow.
This seems so simple, but I am having such a hard time with the new interface. Please help.

To achieve what you need, we can follow this steps:
Create a form in InfoPath with the required field including the manager field which should be a person picker type, then publish it and add these fields to the library.
New a workflow associated with the library.
Select Start Approval process action, and set it to start approval process on current item with Current Item: Account Id(one field of the person picker group in step1).
Select If any value equals value condition, and set it to if Current Item: Approval Status equals 0;#Approval.
Select Send an email action, and set it to Email Current Item: Created By.
Select If any value equals value condition, and set it to if Current Item: Approval Status equals 1;#Rejected.
Select Send an email action, and set it to Email Current Item: Created By.
Make the workflow started automatically when an item is created, and publish it.

Read/write access when opening or saving file

We keep getting the message "specified file not found,
followed by the dreaded "read/write access denied" message when we
try to open files (whether Freehand or Illustrator files) and
sometimes when trying to save. We've tried to delete the prefs., as
noted in other threads, but this hasn't worked for us. We are
running Freehand MXa on PC's running Windows XP. We are trying to
mostly open previously created Mac files.

I've not seen Word crash when selecting a smart folder - but it doesn't 'see' what's inside either. In other words when I select a smart folder in the file selector it appears to be an empty folder. And this isn't just a Word thing - lots of programs behave this way.
I use smart folders from the desktop. I have a folder in my Dock which contains all my smart folders. I open a smart folder from there and then double-click the document I want to open. It is a work around obviously but it works

How to read XSLT list item of a list view web part in SharePoint designer 2010 using jquery

I have a requirement to get data from one list(e.g., A) and display in some other list's(e.g.,B) custom display form(e.g., CustomDispForm.aspx).
Here I am going to do this with the help of Jquery SP Services using GetListItems(). For getting the data I need to pass two parameters from list(B), but the data is like <xsl:value-of select="@testField_"/> .
I have stuck how to pass such variables in Jquery function.
Please let me know how to achieve .
